Her father and his mother joining forces was a truly terrifying thought. Hie eyes widened and he shook his head, then close his eyes, "I just saw my life flash before my life. Don't get me wrong, it was great," he smirked, "lots of you there. But honestly, not ready to die just yet," he added with a small chuckle. He was pretty sure his parents were happy for him being with Irina who they had known for so long... they would have told him if they weren't. And gods knew Louisa was happy for him, albeit worried about his well being when he panicked. She said she was always prepared, but that she wanted to exchange gifts more privately than when they were with their families. She settled against him, saying that they could wait til later and changing the subject to the fact that they didn't have to sneak back to Hogwarts. He nodded, "I mean, really that's all I need for Christmas but... I can open it whenever you want," he suggested, circling back. Irina Rose Krum

Irina laughed. “Well I’m not quite ready for you to die just yet either,” she teased, nudging him with her shoulder. She pretended to be exasperated with his back and forth about opening her gift, but reached over the bed to grab it from her bag. “Alright open it you,” she said, though she was rather excited about it. It wasn’t much - Cursebreaking wasn’t exactly lucrative as a trainee after all - but she had wrapped it in a pretty silver wrapping paper and stuck a big green bow on top. Truth was she had ripped the paper accidentally, so the bow was actually covering up that little slip, but Dan didn’t have to know that. What lay inside was a scarf, but it wasn’t any old scarf. It was one Irina knitted herself (with a little help from some magic and her mother) in three different shades of blue yarn - Appleby Arrow blue, a cooler steel blue, and a dark navy. On one side of the scarf she had embroidered in silver lettering IRK + DFH. It was a personal gift, and Irina didn’t think she had done too badly, so she waited with a slightly anxious look on her face as he opened the gift. @daniel

She said she wasn't ready for him to die yet either, nudging his shoulder with hers. He nodded, smiling softly. He couldn't help the laugh that came when she was telling him to open the gift, feigning her annoyance at him. The silver wrapping and the green bow was very fitting, he thought. "Aesthetically we make a great couple, I think," he teased, admiring the presentation. He slowly peeled the packaging apart, not noticing any imperfections. When he pulled the scarf out he lifted it high so he could see the whole thing at once. He could feel her anxiousness, of course, and that made him realize that maybe she had actually made this herself. Why else would she be nervous about it? He clasped the end with his other hand to bring the embroidered part close to his face. "What's this, a spell?" he joked, looking past the scarf to smirk at her. He lowered it around his neck, using both hands to pat it in place. He grinned at it, then looked up at her, "well aren't you the creative one. I could never do something like this," he leaned forward and placed two fingers under her chin, "thank you," he whispered softly. Irina Rose Krum

Irina breathed a sigh of relief she didn’t realize she had been holding. It was silly to think that he wouldn’t like it; he rarely didn’t like things they did together or that she got for him. Still she felt extremely pleased with herself and she snuggled up alongside him, closing her eyes in contentment. “You’re welcome,” she said softly, pressing a kiss on the side of his jawline. Draping an arm across his chest, she let her head lay in the crook of his shoulder and fell into a blissfully dreamless sleep. THE END
