Lucy wasn't sure why she felt the desire to return to the Hogsmeade festival. She enjoyed it, for the most part, but she had already been here once since it started, before she went to Paris with Anna. The twins had returned yesterday to the UK and now Anna was sitting at home in her flat just staring at nothing. Lucy felt bad about leaving her, but she had someone there to sit with her and Lucy just really needed to get out. She wanted to try to figure out how she was feeling and what she thought about it. Oscar was missing at the very least, she didn’t know anything about it, and she couldn’t imagine that the purifiers had anything to do with it, but maybe they did. And she still has Oscar’s journal hidden, she hadn’t looked through it yet, but even if she had and she hadn’t found anything, she wasn’t sure Anna would know what to do with it if she gave it to her.
She wanted to get out of the house, she left Anna with her company and said that she’d be back in a few hours. Lucy was too afraid to take work right now, she was afraid to leave Anna on her own. She started rehearsal for a muggle production in January, but that was still a week off. She walked into the village after appariting to the entrance and looked around for something to do. She saw the young man standing around, possibly in line for something and a smirk crossed her lips. “Hey River.” she smirked, walking over to him and then bumping his shoulder with hers when she got to him. There was the distraction she wanted.

River was thinking of inviting his brother to meet him at the festival, but he figured Liam would be with Tamara. Maybe he'd ask him later to swing by and spend time with him... He asked Vi if she wanted to go and she didn't even answer him. Ever since their wedding she had been even more bitter to him than before, even though he had thought they had bonded in the month leading up to it... was there such a thing as post-wedding depression? If so, Vi had it. So, he came by himself. He had just arrived and was exploring a bit when someone said his name. Lucy. She bumped his shoulder and River smiled bumping hers back. "Hey, where's your date?" he joked, it just came out. He figured someone like her would have a date to this sort of thing. Someone like her being someone pretty, smart and talented, right? He kind of hoped she didn't... @lucyweasley

The first thing that he asked her was where her date was. She couldn’t help but let a laugh escape her pink lips. “Ha. If you find me one, let me know.” She teased. Lucy Weasley with a date that wasn’t paying through the roof for her to spend time with them, she had a feeling that wasn’t going to happen any time soon. She wasn’t sure if it would happen ever, Lucy was a very high maintenance, demanding woman and she didn’t know if she could ever find a partner who could keep up. And anyone who was of her desired standing, politically and financially, likely wouldn’t want a girl who was so active and would refuse to be a little housewife. “What about you? You leave the wife at home?” she asked.

She laughed, and he was glad that his comment didn't come across as invasive. It was meant to be a compliment, really. She said if he found her one to let her know and he shrugged, almost saying 'got one right here,' while gesturing to himself but... he wasn't sure if that was entirely appropriate being... Vi and all... and flirting, he wasn't any good at flirting and he was nervous about even trying, even if she had given him the perfect set up and all. She asked about Vi then, asking if he left 'the wife' at home. "I suppose. More like she sent ME out, rather than me leaving HER," he suggested, shrugging. "Marriage is weird," he admitted, giving a little shudder with his shoulders. "I don't recommend it," woah, woah, that wasn't the nicest thing to say. "I mean it's fine. I mean it's... I'm gonna bore you," he chuckled, "come on, let's go find something interesting - and maybe we'll stumble on that date of yours."@lucyweasley

Lucy caught his little shrug and motion to himself. SHe laughed and rolled her eyes. She was sure his wife would love that. Well, actually, she wasn’t sure his wife would mind really. While she knew both him and his wife as individuals, she hadn’t been very close with either of them, she rarely spoke with either of them, but she had never seen the two of them interact either. She couldn't imagine they were very thrilled with the union. Though she imagined that their parents more than loved it. He went on about how weird marriage was and how he didn’t recommend it. Lucy laughed, “That’s okay, I don’t really plan on getting married.” she admitted. It wasn’t a statement that required pity, which she figured she’d get from her sister or other family members if she told them, but, it was a decision based on realism and understanding of how the world was going to work. She didn’t need a family dragging her down, at least not like that. And she wasn’t sure how she’d feel about a husband who was more powerful than she was. “Well you’ll do for now.” she admitted, lacing her arm through his, playfully, mostly just to tease the younger man. Since their first meeting a few weeks back, she had grown a little soft spot for him. He was sweet and fairly easy to talk to. “So did you have anything on your mind to do today?” she asked.

She said that she didn't plan on getting married, and for some reason that made him very, very happy. Which was probably kind of rude but... it really didn't make his stomach flip in a happy dance. "Good call," he offered. In reference to her 'date', she said that he would do for now and he grinned, "do you usually date married guys?" He wished it felt weird to say he was married, but it really didn't. His parents had basically been forcing Vi on him for years, so he already felt like they were attached to each other for a long time now. She took his arm and he let her, happily, and she asked what he had on his mind to do. "Well, I hear there are carriage rides? We could check those out?" he suggested, nodding toward the signs pointing to said carriages. @lucyweasley

Lucy couldn’t help the blunt laugh that escaped her lips when he asked her if she usually dated married guys. “Yeah, actually.” she admitted for the first time, still with a laugh and a smile on her face. Thinking on his question, she did actually, though, they always paid for her services, which made it all worth it. He suggested they go on one of the carriage rides and she shrugged, “Ooh how romantic. I’m sure your wife wouldn’t mind.” she teased, knowing very well that his wife likely wouldn’t mind, all while still meaning it all as a joke. “I can agree to a carriage ride, lead the way, sir.” she decided.

When shes aid she WAS used to dating married guys, his eyes widened just a little before he relaxed them, "well, aren't I lucky," he said, though his humorous tone was a little shot. Not because he was judging her, but because a small part of him was actually really happy to hear that. Then he felt a little guilty because of THAT. She agreed the carriage ride was a good idea, saying how it was romantic and that his 'wife' wouldn't mind. He nodded and led the way. "A little flying never hurt anyone. Winged horses it looks like," he noticed as they approached. Once they got to the front of the line he offered to help her into the carriage first with a hand before climbing in after her. Soon enough, they were in the air. River sat close to her, but leaned forward a little to look down at the village below. But, right before he could say anything, he saw a giant, scaly figure pass right under them. "Woah!" he shouted, leaning back and throwing an arm in front of her protectively, as the horses started to swerve madly. @lucyweasley (figure we should get a dragon in there haaha)

He didn’t ask about her response to his question, though she was kind of expecting he might fish around for a little bit of clarification. Instead, he just went with it and seemed alright with her answer. A little light went off in the very back of her brain: was he being serious? She wondered. He couldn’t be interested in dating now, she couldn’t imagine it. But then, she could imagine it. His wife obviously wasn’t satisfying him. She probably didn’t care even if he was actively dating while being married to her.
He helped her into the carriage and and shortly into their flight, they were interrupted by a roar from the heavens. She looked up just in time to behold the sight and was only brought back to the reality of their situation when River’s arm flew around her, holding her back into the seat. “Oh my god.” Lucy gasped. She had never seen a dragon in real life, well, not in the wild at least. This couldn’t be planned… could it? Based on that fact that neither she, nor River, knew about it and were both here, she wondered. “What do we do? Can we get it to land?” she asked, pulling her wand out of her sleeve. “We can’t fight this in the air, we’ll get thrown out.” she added, looking over the edge of the carriage. They were pretty high up.

River kept his arm on her, eyes scanning the area to try and find a solution. She asked what they could do, if they could land, pulling out her wand. He nodded, pulling his wand out too and using his arm that was against her to grasp the side of the carriage across her instead. "We could fall on purpose though, and then just slow our fall," aresto momentum would do that. "Might be a better idea than waiting for it to hap-" the carriage jerked again and his buttocks lifted off the seat for a moment before slamming back down. He winced, gasping. "But I don't want to abandon the Pegasus," he got out. He looked toward the two pegasi pulling the carriage and then turned to Lucy. "We could... try to ride them..." he suggested slowly. Was that a terrible idea? @lucyweasley

Lucy didn’t really have a lot of desire to fight the dragons that were loose in Hogsmeade. She felt like there were enough people down there already and she didn’t really feel like being helpful. She had been a good person enough in the past week with escorting her sister through France and literally carrying her back home. Not to mention giving up half of her flat for the girl to live in with her. Lucy didn’t blame Anna, of course, her husband was missing and most likely dead. But she did feel like she had done her part already, she had acted the good guy well enough. Did she had to go about saving people now too? “I don’t hate that idea.” she admitted when he suggested that they try to ride the Pegasus. She had never done something like that before, but the worst that would happen would be falling off and she could catch herself down below. “We can mount them and cut them loose from the carriage.” they didn’t even have to return to the village after that if they didn’t want too, but she didn’t want to put the idea into River’s mind. Maybe he wanted to go down. She didn’t have to follow him if she got annoyed with it all. “Okay, let’s do that.” she decided, standing up, causing the carriage to shake under her shifting weight.

She said she didn't hate his idea of riding the animals, but it seemed insane to him. She suggested they cut them loose from the carriage once they mount and he nodded slowly, not really feeling anything. He was trying to go into full logical mode so that he couldn't freak out. It was very hard. She stood and he stood with her, reaching to hold the front of the carriage with one hand and grabbing her arm with the other. He looked over at her, "okay, ready?" he gave her a nod before releasing her and rapidly climbing over the front of the carriage and onto the pegasus back. He glanced to the pegasus next to him, to see if she had made it, right when the horses and carriage veered sharply to the side. @lucyweasley

The further that Lucy and River got into this ridiculous plan, the more she was starting to question it. He took the lead, climbing up and mounting one of the pegasus. She followed behind him, she had managed to climb to the edge of the sleigh, but just as she was going to launch her leg onto the creature, it jerked suddenly and Lucy was sent flying from the carriage, hurling down towards the ground. She gripped tight to the wand in her hand while she tried to remember the charm that could save her life. Her mind was blank. This was the most inopportune time to go into shock!

When River turned to check all he saw was... the pegasus. His eyes widened and he looked down, seeing Lucy falling. He quickly pointed his wand at the reigns and the broke, separating from the carriage. Now, this only caused the Pegasus to fly wildly. River yelled, clutching for deal life as he tried desperately to steer the thing toward Lucy. When he realized that he'd never get close enough to actually catch her, he just waited until the horse veered as close to Lucy as possible and then aimed his wand at her. "Arresto momentum!" he cast. The spell was meant to slow her down, so that she wouldn't slam into the ground. Then, he tried to encourage the horse to lower down... but it just wanted to keep flying up. River groaned, "alright, alright!"He released the thing and pushed off as soon as it swooped about thirty feet above the ground. He cast the cushioning spell at the nearest food cart and then slammed into it. Thankfully, it was softer... because of the cushioning. The wind was knocked out of him and he tried to catch his breath, wincing as he pushed himself up and then stood. "Lucy!?"@lucyweasley

Lucy landed on the ground seconds after being hit by River’s charm, however, her fall was reduced drastically. She fell into a roll and landed on her back behind a shop, into a patch of bushes, which wasn’t the most comfortable but probably beat landing on a roof or, even worse, a dragon. She stayed there for a second, contemplating just apparate away and leaving the village to be. She had no plans or desire to help anyone anyway, what was the point of staying. She heard the screams and shouts from the village, and on top of those, she heard River calling her name. Oh right. Him. She stood up, groaning as she did. “Back here!” she called, hoping that wasn’t too vague. She walked over the edge of the building she was behind and peaked around, seeing him standing near a food cart. How had he got to the ground?
