There was quite a racket going on outside the small cafe in which Ambrosia was taking a much deserved tea break. She'd spent the morning working at the shop she'd purchased, familiarizing herself with the wares, cleaning the clutter, organizing, and so forth. Just because it was in Knockturn Alley didn't mean the place had to be a disgusting pigsty. Ambrosia was a lady. Classy, refined. Aa such, anything she owned would reflect that, and also her dignity as a Hong.
Te shop in particular was not crowded, or very popular, which Ambrosia liked. It was quiet, peaceful even. It made a lunchtime tea break quite relaxing. But that racket! Outside, the festivities were in full force. Ambrosia didn't understand the appeal. Holidays, festivals, they all felt like complete waste of time.
Lifting her tea cup to her lips she took a slow sip, her gaze out the window as people laughed and frolicked between the shops and activities.

Bethany hadn't really bothered looking around the festival much. She was just there to see her sister, and there were too many people around for her taste anyway. Sure, she enjoyed people watching judging to an extent, but there was only so much you could do when the streets were crawling with people. She headed toward the tea shop, which was the most likely place to find Ambrosia, and was unsurprised to find her sister there.
"Bros," she greeted, moving to give a short bow, her hand clasped gently in front of her. She didn't sit yet. She would wait until invited. She had learned, through the Hong family and through her own uptight disposition, to respect those older and wiser than her, like her big sister.

Ambrosia took a long, slow sip of her tea, her dark eyes focused on the crowd outside the window. Witches and Wizards from all around the world, in a plethora of traditional holiday garb or winter gear to protect themselves from the elements. Ambrosia was used to snow. The Hong ancestral home was deep in a mountain range, so as to avoid any unwanted visitors or attention.
Ambrosia’s attention only wavered when the front door of the shop opened, the bell announcing a new customer. Ambrosia recognized the newcomer immediately though, her half sister, Bethany. Bethany had been raised in a disgustingly mundane world, unaware of her Hong connections and denied her magical heritage. When Ambrosia had returned to China, Bethany had come with her, and the two Hongs had only returned to the United Kingdom a short time ago. ”Bethany.” Ambrosia greeted in response. Bethany didn’t sit immediately, and Ambrosia motioned with a hand to the open seat, silently offering it if Bethany desired. ”Have you found anything interesting at the festival?”

Her sister greeted her with her name and motioned for her to sit. Beth did so then, not moving too quickly or too eagerly. She respected Ambrosia more than anyone in this world, and she wouldn't make a fool of herself in front of her. She asked if she'd seen anything interesting and Beth shook her head, sitting up straight in her chair, "nothing really. It all seems a bit frivolous to me," she admitted with a small sigh. She waved a hand at the help, who came over and took her order quickly before leaving again. She turned back to Ambrosia, "have you explored it at all? I'm sure that you've been busy enough without doing a little shopping," she suggested. Ambrosia always had something cooking, Ashley just wished she could read minds too to know what. Not that Bros just left her mind wide open.
