Shawn had taken sometime away from the castle of Hogwarts. He had decided to be one of the few professors to stay during the holiday break. While that meant he was expected to be there most of the time he was free to leave as long as he gave notice to someone. He hadn’t left many times. He took Christmas Eve and day off to visit friends and Callisto of course but most of the time Shawn had attempted to make the students who stayed at Hogwarts feel at home. Shawn knew what it was like to rather stay at school than return home. He had gone home once or twice on holiday as a student and rapidly decided to stay at Hogwarts more and more.
Still here Shawn was enjoying the Hogsmeade winter festival. He didn’t play any of the games anymore as he was terrible at them. People would expect he would be good at such childish games but he just ended up losing more money than the any of the prizes were actually worth. That was the main problem for Shawn, he knew once he started playing he wouldn’t give up till he won something. Instead he was there for all the terribly unhealthy festival food. There was actual food here but Shawn had actual food all the time he was here for the stuff that only showed up at fairs and festivals.
All was peaceful for the most part, children running, their parents in chase and people having a good time. As any festival should be. Yet suddenly there was a very new sound, a sound that didn’t belong at any festival Shawn could think of. It was the roar of a dragon and not far off. Shawn had seen plenty of dragons in his time, he didn’t know much about them besides basic facts and small details. Yet he loved to see them whenever he was in a place with dragons near by. Dragons should be no-where near here though and while others looked around, himself included, there was a loud crash from nearby.
Turning toward it Shawn saw a large imposing black dragon nearby on top of what used to be a food stand. Thankfully it seemed the people had gotten out of the way and were running off as were most other people. Shawn saw the dragon was watching where everyone was running, where if he had any common sense he would be running as well. At this point the dragon was about to do one of two things, roar or breath fire in the direction everyone was fleeing too. He also wasn’t about to take any chances and as the dragon started open it's mouth Shawn already had his wand out. “Protego Duo!” He shouted just in time as a jet of flames bounced off and around the barrier, the people would be safe but the same couldn’t be said for the buildings the flames hit. He hadn’t expected to be fighting off a dragon today or ever but sadly here he was. “I couldn’t just ask you nicely to go away can I?” Shawn thought out loud as the dragon had his eyes on him.

Since May or June 2024, most of Ji-Yu's time was consumed by the overwhelming amount of paper work and assignments that most Professors saw in their day to day lives. When Ji-Yu decided to take on the role of the Charms Professor in Hogwarts, she knew she would be putting herself up for an intense challenge but not this bad. Regardless, the Choi enjoyed what she did and taught - even if it brought the downfall of certain students. From it, she had made friends with the other Professors and saw the best out of certain students. It was a warming thing to watch daily.
So when the start of the holidays came around, Ji-Yu was approached with the offer to return to her small apartment for a few weeks or remain in Hogwarts alongside the students who chose to remain in the Wizarding school too. After being away from her true home, Seoul, for almost five years Ji-Yu was tempted to take up the offer and of returning home, to use the opportunity to see her family. But instead, the selflessness person she was chose to remain by the students, giving them the opportunity to attend Hogsmeade's Winter Festival which was apparently held every year. Alongside a few other Professors and a heap of students, they all set out for the festival and the brunette was rather excited for what the festivities would bring.
The one thing she wasn't looking forward to was the presence of the dragons however. It seemed to be mid-afternoon when their roars were heard and by then Ji-Yu had split away from her colleagues and even the students. She was completely and utterly alone. Buildings began to crumble and burn, debris falling almost everywhere and even a panicked young soul almost lost their life. That is before Ji-Yu ultimately saved her with a small Protego spell. "Go! Run in the direction of the others!" She commanded, mouth hung open while she slowly turned, watching the chaos erupt amongst her. It wasn't until golden eyes settled upon a familiar face and the realisation of where she was sank in. The Charms professor needed to be useful, alongside those who knew their stuff. And the Hufflepuff's head of house: Professor Ashcroft seemed to be perfect. She had never spoken to the Professor for a general conversation, rather than a simply greeting or a nod in his direction but that was usually all.
Hearing the man speak his mind resulted with the Choi forcing a small smile on her lips. She appreciated those that tried to make light out of situations but regardless, the Choi knew she needed to cause a distraction for the dragon so her fellow Professor didn't ultimately burn to pieces. She knew fighting fire with fire wouldn't be best, considering the Dragon would probably product masses of it...So Ji-Yu went with the next best thing that always proved to be the best distracting thing. "Verdillious!" She casted, watching as green sparks left from the tip of her wand, flying in the direction of the dragon.

Shawn took a second to wonder just what he was doing, sure he could hold back the flames for a moment but what after that. He never thought about things all the way through and while normally it didn’t bother him. Now Shawn was stuck just holding off a fire breathing dragon till, what? Help arrived. Shawn kept trying to think of what to do next and while he was he noticed green sparks coming from nearby hitting the dragon. Looking over he saw the charms professor shooting them. It was enough to annoy the dragon and stop breathing fire for a moment. He hadn’t had much of chance to talk to her just yet and now that she was helping him fight off this creature he regretted that.
“I appreciate the help Miss Choi.” Shawn said thanking her for the help. All he could really do was hope some trained dragon handler would just show up out of no where as he didn’t really want to kill the creature. As long as he still had a choice. All Shawn could hope to do in the mean time was stun it. Taking the moment to freely cast something else Shawn went with the stunning or knocking out plan. “Just keep it distracted for a bit longer!” He shouted as he cast a spell on one of the near by food carts flinging it right for the dragon. It was a waste of food was a passing thought but it was heavy enough to hopefully stun the creature yet not kill it. The cart hit the dragon in the chest and part in the head. It certainly caught it off guard and left it confused but not totally stunned. Shawn was about to find something else as the dragon whipped its tail, sending bits of the cart back at him. One large piece stabbed into his arm, thankfully it was his left not his casting arm. He’d deal with that later and the other little cuts too. This was what he got for throwing something at the dragon.
It was back to being focused on him and started to breath fire once more. Shawn blocked it with a shield spell once more and now he was just back in the same spot he started it.

Glad to provide some kind of help, Ji-Yu continued to cast the green sparks that once left her wand in an attempt to distract the dragon. While her interactions with the other professor were nothing more than a mere greeting towards one another, the Choi didn't want to watch anyone suffer. Colleagues, students or even others of the Public. She threw a soft smile in his direction at his comment, before her wand tightened ready to cast a series of charms to keep the dragon's attention on herself.
"No problem!" She called out, golden doe eyes focusing on the scales before her. The moment felt like a perfect one to say something badass, something that would give her the 'cool' factor but unlike her brother, she gave up that phase and the attempts of being a rebel long time ago. Repeated coloured sparks left the Choi's wand, the familiar green colour followed by others just to keep the dark embers of the dragon focused on her. Though the series of sounds she then heard left her with widened eyes, especially as she had to look over the dragon's side, watching as the food cart headed in their direction. Surely like Shawn, Ji-Yu thought it was enough to stun the dragon but when it sent debris of the cart back in his direction, she couldn't help but wince. "Are you alright?!" She called out, watching as the dragon slowly faced to turn him, ready to breathe fire. Before she could yell a warning, it seemed the Professor was already prepared, noticing a shield appearing from his end.
With the dragon focused on Shawn once more, Ji-Yu knew she would need to do something in order to prevent the man from being burnt to dust. Magic could only do so much for wizards as an overall. "Hey!" She yelled at the dragon, casting a few minor spells which required the help of debris that came from the broken carts, sent to hit the dragon. Following the roars she heard, the attention was slowly given to her and in order to save Shawn's life yet again, Ji-Yu found herself casting another spell. "Bombarda!" She knew it would have been stupid of her to fight fire with fire, but hoped with her attempts of stunning the dragon would work.
