Her shift was almost over and Dom couldn't be more relieved. Sure, she enjoyed selling candies and sweets, but ever since the Winter Festival started in Hogsmeade, she'd definitely been overworked. The hours were longer, the shop busier than normal, but somehow the days still seemed to drag on forever. At least she had yesterday off. She'd been able to spend Christmas with her family, which was always fun and enjoyable.
At the moment, she couldn't help but look at the clock. She was off in about five minutes, hoping that her boss would let her off early. There was a momentary break in customers and she wanted to get out of here before they were slammed again. Then again, that wasn't really her choice. A bell rang when someone new walked through the door. Dom's first inclination was to step back so she wouldn't get stuck helping someone and have to stay late, but then she saw who it was. A smirk slid onto her face as she stepped toward the front of the store, nodding at a fellow coworker to show that she'd take care of this one.
"Well, look who it is," Dom commented with a smile as she approached Finn Jones. At least her last customer of the day was a good friend. Maybe she'd be able to convince him to wait for her to finish before he left ... if he didn't already have plans for his day, of course. Dom found herself hoping ...

Ah, Boxing Day. The day after Christmas where everyone in the United Kingdom just sat around in their pajamas all day and ate leftovers. Normally Finn loved to partake in this age old tradition, but he had been tipped off that a certain lovely redhead would be working at Honeydukes that day, and well, he wasn't about to pass up that opportunity. It had been months; Finn felt extremely guilty he hadn't been able to see much of her the past few months with Quidditch. He had been made Captain though, so at least something so good had to come of it. Still, they had had such a good time on their date, and he hoped she hadn't forgotten about him. He walked into Honeydukes, the bell tinkling as he entered. He started looking around, hoping to catch a glimpse of Dominique to make sure she was actually there. Turns out however, he didn't have to look. A wide grin broke out onto his face as he spun around to see the woman herself, smiling back at him. "Dominique Weasley, as I live and breathe," he said, giving her a bear hug. He had missed her more than he realized, he thought, and he didn't know what to think of that. "I came in to see if perhaps a beautiful rehead would like to accompany me to the Winter Market after her shift?" he asked, looking at her with hope. @dominique

The wide smile on his face when he saw her was definitely a good sign. Dom grinned back at him, laughing when he pulled her in for a huge hug. "As you live and breathe?" she teased. She'd never really heard someone say that phrase, except for in movies. It was definitely cheesy, but she didn't really mind. At least it meant that he was excited to see her. Well, she thought that was what it meant. Her eyes widened slightly when he admitted that he came here to talk to her. She was flattered, and definitely excited that he did want to spend time with her. Their date was honestly way too long ago. She'd wanted to look him up, but things got in the way and life was busy ... and now she was just making excuses. "Well, with an invitation like that, how's a beautiful redhead to refuse?" she said with a laugh. "I'm off in just a few minutes. Do you want any candy or did you really come here just for me?" Dom would love to help him get whatever he might want, but she was also curious if he'd exaggerated before. Not that she'd be upset if he had. His entrance was perfect and she was so glad that he was here right now. Dom knew that the two of them would have fun at the festival.

Finn grinned as Dominique accepted his offer to accompany him to the festival. He was hoping she would accept - not that he had doubts she’d laugh in his face or something - and was glad they were going to get to spend some more one on one time together. Their date had felt like years ago, but she was never far from his mind. He hoped she was still single, or at least nothing too serious was going on. “I will never say no to candy,” he admitted with a grin, picking out some honey caramel fudge to snack on later. After Dominique had finished up at Honeydukes, Finn held the door open for her and they set off towards the many shops and stalls lining the cobblestone streets. “So, I do have exciting news…” he trailed off, glancing over at her with a wide grin. “You are currently walking with the newly appointed Captain of the Appleby Arrows.” To say he was excited was an understatement; Finn had been pleasantly shocked when Coach Gamp had called him into his office last month to officially over him the position. He took the leadership role very seriously of course, though he made sure to have fun whenever he could. “I’m hoping to keep the Arrows at the top of the rankings where we belong. It’ll be tough; we had a heartbreaking loss the other week, but I have complete confidence in my team,” he told her, then pulled something out of his pocket. “I was able to secure two tickets for you and a friend to come to our next match too, if you’d like of course,” he said, holding the tickets out to her with a hopeful look in his eyes. He’d feel more confident in his abilities if he knew she was there - not that he really needed the confidence boost, but it would be a nice feeling. @dominique

It was so easy for her to be around Finn. He was fun and cheerful and just so easy to talk to. He let her help him out with some honey caramel fudge and before she knew it, she was off. She told him to wait a moment while she went into the back to clock out and grab her things. She put on a good coat and then made her way back to her friend.
They started to walk and Dom was about to ask how he was doing or something when Finn said he had some exciting news. She turned to look up at him with a big smile, waiting for him to say it. When he did, her jaw dropped. "Are you serious? Congratulations!" She cocked her head up at him, "So if I ever decide I do want to go into Quidditch, do I ask you for a tryout or someone else?" Dom was mostly teasing, but she was also curious. She didn't know how official teams worked. She nodded, "I'm sure you'll do a great job leading the team. Everyone loses sometimes, it's coming back from the losses that shows the strength of the team." She looked around them, laughing softly as she thought of how proud she was of her friend. Then he was showing her some tickets and Dom jumped up and down. "Seriously?! You have tickets for me? When? Oh, it doesn't matter. I will soooo be there!" She said with an easygoing laugh. "You sure I won't be too distracting?" Dom teased, really liking this turn of events.

Finn smiled widely; Dominique had reacted so well to his news. Not that he thought she wouldn't, but it was still nice to hear. "Yeah! Coach Gamp pulled me into his office, and I was honeslty a little scared. Typically he doesn't call people into his office unless it's something bad so..." he shrugged nonchalantly. "I hope I can do the team proud," he said honestly. He was a little nervous, but he was prepared to lead the team to greatness. Well, even more greatness than they already had of course. "Oh I think I could maybe help you out there," he added, nudging her gently with his shoulder. She was a great flyer, and truth be told they were in need of a Beater and they'd be a great match. He laughed as she jokingly asked if she would be a distraction. "No, no. When I am playing I am completely in the zone. The crowd just becomes a dull roar in my ears and the only focus is on the Bludger," he explained, handing her the tickets with a flourish. "So..how have things been with you?" he asked as they continued their walk. @dominique

Fin started to explain a bit more about how he got the job and Dom listened with a wide smile on her face. This was a dream come true for Fin, she was sure. If the expression on his face was anything to go by, he was definitely excited about it. She smiled, "I'm sure you'll do a great job leading the team. You've got a lot of great players on your team to support you too." Even though Dom wasn't playing, she still followed the teams on the league pretty closely. She laughed when he nudged her, saying he thought he could help her out there. "I'll have to think about that then," she told him with a smirk. Dom did love Quidditch. She missed the game, truth be told. The only thing was, it made her think of Ethan, which was always a sad thing. Then again, she knew he wouldn't want her to hold back because of him. Ethan would want her to do what she loved. "Maybe you should tell me the perks of being a Quidditch star," Dom suggested, only partly teasing. "Y'know, help me know what I'd be getting myself into." For the first time in a while, she was actually considering it.
"I wouldn't even get a wave from you?" Dom teased, unable to resist. Of course, she didn't want to distract Fin, but getting a little bit of attention at the beginning of the game definitely wouldn't be a bad thing. She laughed, "Sounds like you've got some good focus there." She shrugged as he asked about her, "I've been doing well. Dying a slow and painless death at the sweet shop, but other than that I'm doing well." The only good thing about her job right now was that she could still see people from school. The social aspect she liked, but other than that it was dull. Dom needed something more, she just wasn't quite sure what she wanted.

Finn chuckled. “You’ll get a nod and a wave, how about that?” he teased back. It would be hard to miss her long flaming red hair in the stands, but he knew he’d have some trouble focusing if he kept looking for her during the match. “I’d be glad to give you the rundown of the wonders of being internationally famous for playing a sport, but I think that would be best suited in the warmth of the indoors,” he told her, steering the pair towards the Three Broomsticks. He opened the door to let her inside and ordered them two butterbeers to start, picking a cozy corner booth for them to sit in. Finn raised his tankard to toast Dominique. “To you, and your possible future endeavors,” he toasted, before taking a long drink of his Butterbeer. He smacked his lips together, happy for the warmth the drink gave him. “So, what do you want to know? Or should I just go ahead and tell you all the reasons why you’d make a great fit for the team?” he asked, grinning cheekily. @dominique

Dom pursed her lips, tapping her chin like she had to think about it. "Okay, yeah I guess I can accept that," she said after a few moments, grinning over at Finn. "But if I don't get both, I'm going to assume you're reacting to someone else in the audience." Honestly, if he did nod and wave, she only expected it at the beginning, when the players were being introduced. Not during the game. She wouldn't dare suggest he search for her while playing. She laughed when he said that he'd try and convince her after they were inside and followed him easily. "Sounds like a good idea to me," Dom agreed.
She raised her mug as he toasted her, then took a swig of Butterbeer. She was glad that she ran into Finn here. He was fun and easy to talk to, definitely better than her being alone or just going home. She shrugged when he asked what she wanted to know. She already knew a ton about the game, and quite a bit how professionals worked. She'd studied it a lot with Ethan ... before. At his second question, she grinned. "That one. Convince me that I should play with you guys. Why I'd fit well, why I'd want to play with you and not some other team ..." Dom trailed off, definitely teasing him. Mostly, she just wanted to hear more about the team and about Quidditch. If he did have a spot for her ... well she might actually be considering it, crazy as that sounded to her. She swore she wouldn't do this without Ethan, but he wouldn't want her to hold back and she loved the sport. Nothing else had her interest in the slightest. So maybe she would consider it. Maybe she wanted to do more than just consider it.
