It was no surprise to anyone that knew him well that Gabriel was a a good ice skater. Being a good dancer helped with that. He was all bundled up in dark clothes, standing out against the white ice. his scarf was his old school Ravenclaw scarf - gotta represent, right?
It was finally starting to get dark and he had been skating for over an hour, but he wasn't ready to quit yet. Old friends had come and gone through the festival, but now he was on his own, skating backwards. There were still quite a few people on the ice so he made sure to look back where he was going often. He started to skate by someone before slowly to a stop. "Susan Winsdor?" he asked. He was only a year ahead of her in school.

Susan had her ice skates packed in the neat little bag as she made her way back towards the ice rink. It wasn't her first time at the Winter Market, so today she had gone to some of the stalls to sample the different foods and drink from around the world. She had tried the most marvelous mulled wine, spiced and hot, and it had done good against the nippy weather. She hadn't come with anyone, and wasn't looking for anyone in particular, just to enjoy herself on her day off. It was beginning to get dark though, and if she wanted to get in any skating time, she would have to do so now. She sat near the corner of the rink, getting out her ice skates and lacing them up neatly. Howver, before she could tie them tight, she heard a familiar voice call her name. Looking up, she was startled to see Gabriel Ollivander, who had been a year ahead of her at school. "Gabriel?" she responded, then smiled. Of course Gabriel was at the ice rink; he had always been an excellent dancer, and ice skating was right up his alley. "Hello! It's been awhile, how are you?" she asked. @gabriel

She looked up, saying his name and greeting him. He grinned, "so good. And you? You look great," he admitted. He realized he didn't even know what career she had gone into. His was obvious. He talked about it plenty while in school... though, his success was another matter. That was always what people asked about upon reconnecting, he was sure it would come up so he just jumped the gun. "Been studying acting at the W.A.D.A. got a gig next month," he explained. "Funny enough, Lucy Weasley is my counterpart," he chuckled.
He swayed a little on his skates, looking down at hers that weren't entirely laced up yet. "Oh, I interrupted. Want a hand?" he offered, already bending down to reach toward her skates. He was real good at tying skates after all.

Susan smiled, a faint pink tinge on her cheeks. “Thank you, you don’t look so bad yourself,” she said with a light laugh. She nodded as he mentioned how he was now studying at the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts; she wasn’t surprised, he had always been interested in acting and dance after all. “You do? How marvelous!” she said, excited for him and this opportunity. “Is it open to the public? I’d love to come see,” she said, then laughed as he mentioned Lucy Weasley of all people was his counterpart. Susan hadn’t know Lucy all that well in school truth be told; she had been a Slytherin, so while they had shared classes together being in the same year, they had run in different social circles. She didn’t have any issues with her, and she didn’t think Lucy hated her or anything like that. “How is that going?” she asked curiously. She finished tying up her skates with a little help from Gabriel and stood confidently on her feet. Pushing off onto the ice, she glided around gracefully for a few beats, before turning to face her friend, allowing the ice to gently move her backwards. “So are you an ice dancer as well?” she asked him playfully. @gabriel

She said he didn't look so bad himself and he smiled, nodding in thanks. "I mean, I try pretty hard," he admitted, but his tone played at it like a joke. He really did try hard to look good, that was one of his 'flaws' one might say. Well, at least he was good at it. She complimented his getting a role, asking if it was open to the public. "It is! I'll get you some tickets, if you wanted to come," he cleared his throat, feeling like he had possibly jumped the gun. "But if you can't, that's cool too. It's next month," he explained. She asked how things were going with Lucy and he grinned, chuckling a little. "Pretty good. She's such a good actress sometimes I can't tell if she's in character or not," he admitted. "It's a romantic role, so that's fun," he explained.
When her skates were tied she stood and he held his hands out in case she needed to grab on, but she seemed pretty confident. She glided away and he casually floated behind her. She turned, skating backwards and he raised an eyebrow, "nice," he muttered. Then she asked if he was an ice dancer as well and he grinned, nodding, "I guess I'm not bad," he explained before spinning around himself, moving beside her and skating backwards next to her. "What about you? Do you skate a lot? Maybe we could do routines together, tour the country, the world," he joked.
