She asked if she could get tickets to the game if he was still playing when she graduated. He nodded, chuckling a little as well. "Yeah, totally. I could even show you where we get ready and stuff, it's not that exciting, that could be fun for you to meet some of the team. I just have to get permission first," he explained. He was sure he'd at least keep playing that long. He kind of wanted to play next season due to the fact that Louisa would be back in town this summer.
She said that she would try to remember his little speech about communication, it seemed the serious part of their conversation was over. "So," he asked taking a sip of his drink. "What else is new with you anyway? I mean how are exams going I know that's important," he suggested. He was trying to think of another topic besides her issues with Riley and Toby and whatnot. Since she was a seventh year there was definitely a lot of homework going on.

Her eyes widened as Dan suggested more that he could do. "That sounds so cool! It'd be fun to meet your team and see everything." She never thought that she'd have a friend who could offer to show her stuff like that, but it sounded pretty cool. Dan was a good friend. "Just let me know. If you can't that's fine, it just sounds like fun."
At least Dan believed her when she promised to remember his advice. She smiled, shrugging when he asked what else was new. "Well, there really aren't a lot of things going on that are new ... just studying for exams, trying to keep up with my homework, which isn't as easy as you'd think it would be since I normally like studying." She smiled after a second, "I made a friend with one of the Americans. His name is Joe and he's really nice."

Her eyes widening and the happy feeling that spread toward him from her just made him grin at the thought of showing her around the world of professional Quidditch. He nodded, "yeah, I'll get back to you but I'm sure it'll be fine. I bring my girlfriend around and Kai brings his cousin, so," he shrugged and chuckled a little. The positive vibes were always nice. Well, often nice. Not always.
She said there wasn't anything new going on, just studying and how it wasn't easy even though she did like studying. She mentioned a Joe, and Dan wanted to make a joke about juggling three guys but he didn't want to seem insensitive... since when did he think about that stuff? Wild. "Well, if the studying gets difficult that just means you need to focus more on the topic, right? You've got it," he encouraged. "Oh yeah, the Americans. That's pretty cool, those kids could use some friends I'd think. I remember leaving my school. At least mine was voluntary"

Well, Kinsey definitely felt lucky to have Dan as a friend right now. She'd never thought she might be invited to see behind the scenes with a professional quidditch game. "That would be so much fun," she thought about it a moment more, just imagining seeing a new place and maybe getting to meet some of the other players.
Dan seemed to understood her better than most people did. Kinsey nodded at his comment, "Yeah, I know I can do it, and I like studying, I'm just not used to needing to study so much." Normally the subjects they learned in school were pretty easy to her, but other years she wasn't super distracted like she was now, so that likely made quite a bit of a difference. She nodded, "Yeah, I've talked with a few of them. Some of them aren't happy about leaving their school at all, while others seem to like the chance to try something new." Kinsey probably wouldn't have liked it if she had to leave school and go to a different one.

She said it would be fun to come to the games with him and he grinned. He obviously could feel how happy that made her, and that was an incredibly nice feeling. It was something he'd just recently started to enjoy, knowing that he made someone else happy. He could find solace in that, if nothing else.
She said she liked studying, and that she wasn't used to needing to study so much. That made him laugh out loud. "You're really complaining because this is your first time having to study? You do realize some people study night and day and still fail, right? Be grateful," he chuckled, shaking his head. "No, no. I understand what it's like for everything to change, and when someone you were once good at is stalled," he added. When Dan's powers fully showed themselves a few years ago he felt like every inch of his life around that was not important. His grades dropped, he lost friends... his world collapsed for a while.
She said that she had talked to some Americans and that they weren't happy, but then some were excited. he shrugged, "that seems pretty standard. I don't think you would like that either, I wanted to be the champion but it was hard coming to a new place of new people and feeling all new things."

At least Dan was smiling. It was nice, knowing that at least right now he wasn't feeling upset because of her or because she was bringing him down. That was a nice feeling.
He started laughing, teasing her about how some people always had to study and sometimes still struggled with school and Kinsey shrugged, giving an embarrassed smile but not actually feeling too embarrassed. It was nice having someone who felt comfortable enough around her to tease her. "Yes! I realize that school isn't as easy for everyone as it normally is for me, but that doesn't make the transition much easier for me," she argued, though she was still teasing him. "I'll get it though. I actually do like studying most of the time and learning is always fun." Even though she complained to him about it, she did enjoy it.
She nodded, "I think change in general is different. Having you guys come last year was a little hard. Having the Americans this year was different too, but it kind of turning out to be a nice thing. Making new friends that we never would have had before, you know? I think it's a good thing at least." Kinsey, for one, was making some pretty good new friends.

She understood school wasn't easy for everyone and he chuckled. She said that she normally liked studying and that was all well and good. As their conversation moved back into making friends and moving on, Daniel nodded. It wasn't long until they wrapped up their conversation with plans to catch up again. Daniel was happy to help, but also happy to slink back into his apartment and hide from the world for a little while.
