February 23, 2025 It was Camila's first time going outside of her flat as Julieta, and it felt like an adventure. She wouldn't have to worry about receiving so much attention everywhere she went, not when people in Hogsmeade wouldn't know her manager's niece. It would only be that way for a few hours, at the very most, but she could shop again and get coffee and not worry about it.
She hadn't even anticipated that it would be a day where the Hogwarts students were allowed into the village, but it didn't matter. She was just a normal nineteen-year-old who happened to be there at the same time, rather than an eighteen-year-old popstar. She and Julieta were probably close enough in size that she could get away with trying on clothes while under the effects of the Polyjuice Potion, Camila thought. It was kind of funny to see herself in Julieta's body, and she had intentionally chosen an outfit that she wouldn't have gone out in as herself.
It was like playing dress-up, except with a new appearance entirely. She had a security guard in ordinary clothing trailing her, but she was free to walk around the high street as anyone else would have. Her first stop was Honeydukes, the candy store, and it seemed to be full of people. That was okay. Camila had no problem with her errands taking a little longer, and neither—now—did Julieta.
She went over to a display of chocolates, honestly not sure what half of them were besides chocolate, obviously. "Excuse me," she spoke, trying to catch the attention of a young man nearby her who also looked to be browsing. "Is this good?"

Gabriel made it a point to always head to honeydukes whenever he was in the village. It was kind of a tradition since his school days. He knew it wasn't a unique one, everyone went there, but that didn't stop him from enjoying it. He was looking at chocolates, trying to decide which one to get today when a girl spoke to him. He turned toward her, kind of expecting a student but when he made eye contact with her he wasn't entirely sure if she was one. "Oh yeah, that ones my favorite," he answered, pointing at one of the chocolates wrapped in red. "It has chili pepper in it but that's what makes it so great," he suggested.
He surveyed her subtly before turning back toward the chocolate and pointing at one wrapped in purple, "that one is lavender, also great." If she was a student he would have recognized her, right? And her accent didn't sound like she had been one of the transfers from Ilvermorny. He was having a hard time placing it, though, which was embarrassing for an actor.

February 23, 2025 The young man answered her affirmatively, saying that that chocolate was his favorite. "It has chili pepper in it," he added, "but that's what makes it so great."
Camila smiled and nodded in response to his suggestion, watching as he also pointed to a chocolate bar that was wrapped in purple packaging.
"That one is lavender," he said, "also great."
She understood both of his suggestions, which surprised her. The words that he had used were close enough to Spanish that she understood, and she was pleased with herself because of it. "This," she began, picking up the purple-packaged chocolate, "it is a purple flower, yes?" she asked, just wanting to make sure that she was on the right page.

She picked up the lavender one, asking about it being a purple flower. He nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "Yes! Used for relaxation, mostly... erh... calming?" he explained. There were also lilacs too and he wanted to make sure he was deciphering between the two. He wished he could place her accent, but thought it a little odd to ask. So he decided to go in a round about way, "are you visiting the country?" he asked, hoping that was an appropriate way to phrase that. Gabriel had a way of saying stupid things that came out as rude if he wasn't thinking, but with a girl this pretty he decided thinking might be wise.

February 23, 2025 "Yes!" grinned the guy next to her in response to her question about lavender. "Used for relaxation, mostly... erh... calming?"
Camila was right, then; they were essentially the same. Not only was that good to know in terms of improving her English, it also gave her an idea of what to purchase.
The guy spoke to her again after another moment, though she had said nothing more in the interim. "Are you visiting the country?"
She nodded. Julieta, just as Camila herself was, would have to be a visitor; there was no way around it. She obviously wasn't a local, and she couldn't stay as Julieta for more than a few hours at a time. "Yes," she answered him, "I visit my uncle." If she was going to keep the real Julieta from having a very difficult time at some point, she'd have to maintain that Germán was her uncle. Camila wasn't going to trap herself in some inescapable web of falsehoods, though she considered that she might have to come up with a better cover if she wanted to use this disguise more often.

She said she was there visiting her uncle. ”Oh, that's very nice. My uncle lives here too,” okay, that was an entirely stupid thing to say. Of course he had family there, he was born and raised there. Though, she didn't know that part. ”I've lived here forever,” he offered. ”I'm Gabriel,” he added.
Then the music shifted, and a song by Camila started playing. Gabriel grimaced a little, but let his smile return to his face. ”Do you like music?” he asked, wanting to keep up the conversation. Plus, once he got the topic to music it was easier to brag a little about his own abilities.

February 23, 2025 "Oh, that's very nice. My uncle lives here too," said the guy. Camila thought that that was sort of funny, mostly because he didn't sound too different from most of the other British people she had encountered, and it made more sense that his uncle would have lived there. "I've lived here forever," he added a moment later, confirming Camila's suspicions, at which she giggled. Was he… flirting? Or at least trying to?
"I'm Gabriel," he said.
Camila paused for a moment, terrified that she was going to slip up and give him the wrong name accidentally. "I am Julieta," she smiled back at Gabriel, glad that she had just averted a crisis.
The song that was playing in the store changed then, to one of her own, and Camila's eyes lit up. Gabriel must have noticed the change of song, too, though his expression didn't make him look very thrilled by it at first. He quickly smiled and asked her if she liked it, though, so hopefully he didn't dislike it too much?
"It is good," Camila nodded, trying not to seem too eager about it as Julieta. She didn't want to blow her cover, after all.

Julieta, she said. That was a pretty name. She said music is good – well, he wasn't sure if she meant music in general or that particular song. ”I like music too. I'm a singer. Not famous like Camila or anything,” he shrugged. ”Honestly sometimes it's hard to listen to someone famous whose music I don't like because it's like... I could do better, I think, you know?” he realized he may have talked a little too quickly, so he cleared his throat to start over. ”Anyway, I just don't really like her music that much,” he suggested. He moved to take the candy he had come to this section for off the shelf, then turned back to her. ”I'll buy yours for you. Like, as a little welcome present,” he suggested, his smile genuine.

February 23, 2025 "I like music too," Gabriel told her. "I'm a singer. Not famous like Camila or anything." He shrugged and Julieta smiled. She couldn't tell if he was bluffing or if he actually was a singer, though the name didn't ring any bells. "Honestly," he continued, "sometimes it's hard to listen to someone famous whose music I don't like because it's like… I could do better, I think, you know?"
Camila nodded along with what she could catch of what he was saying, pressing her lips together into a flat line to keep from laughing. She guessed so, but she also wasn't so confident that she thought her music could outdo more experienced singers. She did want to hear Gabriel sing, though. With what he was saying, he would have to be really good for his comments to have been warranted.
"Anyway, I just don't really like her music that much," Gabriel repeated after clearing his throat.
Oooof. He went back to looking at chocolate, though, rather than criticizing her and her music again, and Camila pretended to look at a few more items for herself. She couldn't believe that this was happening. Of course, she could take criticism, but it was just so amusing to listen to it when the person criticizing her didn't know to whom they were actually speaking.
Gabriel spoke again then. "I'll buy yours for you. Like, as a little welcome present."
Camila nodded. If he only knew that it was her behind Julieta's physical appearance, she had a feeling that he would have taken back his offer quickly. But Camila was happy to accept it, even if he didn't have to do that for her. "Oh, thank you very much!"

The girl either didn't understand all the words he was saying or she just didn't have any thoughts on Camila directly right now. She agreed that he could buy her chocolate, which made him smile a little more. "You ready now?" he asked, starting to head toward the register. He didn't want to rush the girl or anything so he added, "unless you want to look around more," he suggested, nodding further into the shop. He had no way of knowing how long she'd been in there after all.

February 23, 2025 Gabriel seemed to appreciate that she had accepted his offer to buy her chocolate, which Camila was too polite—and found it far too funny—to refuse. He began to make his way towards the cashier and asked her if she was ready. While she could have easily stayed in the shop for hours on end to look around at everything that they had for sale, she thought that it would be best if she did go ahead and leave.
"Unless you want to look around more."
By the time that they were able to check out and she got her chocolate bar courtesy of the same guy who had insulted her music, she would probably have to think about leaving the village entirely, wouldn't she? She was not about to get caught by the press or something for having used Polyjuice Potion.
"It is okay," Camila assured Gabriel, waving a hand dismissively. "We pay," she nodded, following him to line up.

She agreed that now was a good time to pay, so he led the way up. Once their bars were purchased, he led the way further to step outside the shop. ”Well, it was nice to meet you, Julieta,” hecommented with a generous smile. He was always nice to strangers, even if sometimes he seemed arrogant and uneducated about the life and issues of those around him. He didn't ever catch onto that issue within himself, really. He wouldn't know the first thing to say to someone who he didn't like their music if he actually met them face to face, because he wasn't the type to lie about his opinions either.

February 23, 2025 It didn't take as long as Camila had expected for them—or Gabriel, really—to pay for their items. Once the transaction had been completed, he walked back out of the candy store, and she followed behind him. It really wasn't a loss to her if he accidentally walked off with her chocolate bar, she thought, but she did still need to thank him for it. It might have been an awkward situation from her end because she wasn't really Julieta, but Julieta had no reason to be upset with Gabriel. Besides, again, he'd bought her chocolate.
"Well, it was nice to meet you, Julieta," Gabriel smiled at her.
"Yes," Camila-as-Julieta smiled. "Thank you very much, Gabriel." He might not have liked her music, but he wasn't a horrible person, at least. "Maybe I will see you again?" Or maybe not, if she didn't make it back before her Polyjuice Potion began to wear off.

She said it was nice to meet him too, thanking him. She said they may see each other again and he grinned, "yeah, maybe." He gave one last little smile before heading on his way. As much as he loved meeting new people, he often had a hard time staying in touch. Gabriel wouldn't say that he was self involved, but others would say that about him. Either way, it was a nice afternoon even if he never saw the girl again. She was just visiting anyway, right? Tourists didn't usually surface again.
