Things at the Daily Prophet were going crazy the past few weeks. Ever since the major breakout from Azkaban and the dragon attack at Hogsmeade during the winter festival, their job was busier than ever. Granted, Jess was out of town during those two major events, which made it even harder for her. She felt like she had to make up for being absent during those major events. Being with Fin in Dublin was definitely worth it and she'd do it all over again. It didn't give her less to do though. Now that she'd finally actually gotten into the investigative journalism department, she was rushing all over the place. There were so many different things to investigate and she was thrilled to get new assignments. However, right now it was after hours and she was sitting at her desk in the main office, fighting to keep her eyes open. She knew she should probably just go home, but she had a deadline for this article and it was almost done! Jess fought to finish it, sighing as she pushed send, then dropping her head down on the desk. She'd just rest her eyes for a few minutes before heading home. That was fine, wasn't it? She wasn't in any sort of a rush or anything. @tamara

The Prophet had been a madhouse since the attack on Hogsmeade and the outbreak at Azkaban. No one knew what was happening, but this made them busier than ever. Guess this was the best time to get promoted from an intern, but it also meant less time with Liam. He understood though – he was always so understanding, that was one thing that she loved about him.
Because of all the work that had been piled on her desk that morning, plus what she had from yesterday, she had stayed after hours to get everything done. And even then, she couldn't take it anymore; she needed to head home. With that, she flicked off the light at her desk and gathered her things, heading through the desks when she stumbled upon a sleeping Jess.
She frowned, reaching out to touch the girl's shoulder, not realizing that she only just shut her eyes. "Jess? Jessie...you awake?"

Jess was all but dead to the world. She was so tired and exhausted from all the extra hours and the stress of getting that article in that the moment her head rested on her desk she was out. She didn't hear others leaving, not even if they said anything. However, when Jess felt a hand touch her shoulder she jumped and looked around, worried a bit. Where was she? It only took a few moments for her to realize she was still at the Daily Prophet. She groaned and rested her head back on her arms. "Who is it?" she mumbled, smiling a little bit. She was waking up, but it'd take a moment until her eyes were ready to really start working. "And what time is it?" she asked, too lazy to look at the watch on her wrist. @tamara

Jess must have been really tired because it took a few seconds to wake the other girl. And when she did, she jumped and looked around as if she didn't know what year it was nor where she currently was. However, she seemed to realize just what happened and asked who had woken her.
She smiled, "Tamara...and, it's almost ten. I gave up; I'll have to finish what I got left tomorrow. Are you staying or going?" she questioned, a little amused at the situation. A part of her was ready to go home, kick off her heels, and fall onto her bed and sleep; another part was starving.

It was just Tamara. Jess felt a little bad for being so jumpy, but she'd been asleep and times were hard. It shouldn't really be a surprise. Maybe she needed to take a calming potion or something to keep the nerves under control ... or she could just spend more time with Fin. That always seemed to calm her down more than anything else ever could. Jess offered a smile right back at Tamara. "Thanks for waking me up." Jess yawned and rose to her feet, reaching for her bag. "I should probably go. I doubt I'd get anything productive gone if I stay." She'd likely just go back to bed, which wouldn't help anyone because sleeping on one's desk was not really conducive to a good night's rest. @tamara

She could tell that her friend was a little jumpy by the way she acted when woken up. But Tamara didn't blame her, getting pulled out of slumber usually resulted in someone confused and scared of what had happened. She had done it once or twice when she was younger when Tia had attempted to wake her up. Or if she had fallen asleep on Liam's shoulder and he moved, waking her from her sleep.
'Thanks for waking me up.' Tamara nodded with a smile on her face, watching as the girl rose to her feet and grabbed her bag, stating that she should go because she doubted anything productive would come of it if she were to stay. Tamara laughed, "That was exactly my feeling. I'm ready to grab some food, head home and kick off my heels and sleep until noon," she said, smiling wildly.

Tamara was easy to talk to and Jess was definitely glad that her friend wasn't the type to tease about something like this. At least, Jess didn't think Tamara would tease her as much as others probably would. Jess didn't have anything to worry about. Even more than that, Tamara understood what Jess was saying about how she might as well leave. Jess nodded to Tamara's suggestion. "Well, we could grab some food together if you want." Jess was suddenly realizing that she was pretty hungry right now too. Eating right before bed probably wasn't the best idea, but she needed food in her. Getting it with a friend could be fun. She smiled, "but I'm definitely with you when it comes to the sleep. I feel like I could sleep for 24 hours straight, if given the chance."

Jess seemed to agree with what Tamara was saying, saying that they could grab some food together if she wanted. She shrugged her shoulders with a smile on her face, "I wouldn't mind the company. Any suggestions?" she questioned as she looked at the girl, just as she added that she could sleep for twenty-four hours straight. Once more, she laughed, nodding her head. "That sounds heavenly," she breathed out as if imagining it.
"Do you work tomorrow? If not, you could crash at my place after we get food, if you want?" Tamara's apartment had a second bedroom, one that was mostly used as her mini office. It held a couch that pulled out into a bed, though, making it easier for guests to spend the night comfortably.

Jess smiled back at Tamara. "Hmmmm, do you like the coffee shop right down the street from the Leaky Cauldron?" On the muggle side of the street, but Tamara wouldn't mind that. She and Jess were similar that way. She laughed when Tamara said so much sleep sounded heavenly. "Yes, but actually being able to do it? Impossible." She rolled her eyes, "Too much work to do." That, and a boyfriend to spend almost all her free time with. Not that Jess was complaining. She loved being able to spend time with Fin. She loved him. Jess thought for a second. "I ... don't work until late tomorrow, so I could do that if you really don't mind?" Jess' place wasn't far, but she didn't want to apparate with how tired she was tonight. Also, it might be nice to spend more time with one of her girl friends. She didn't have a lot of that most of the time. @tamara
