February 2, 2025 Today was going to be a good day. At least, that's what Brandon kept telling himself. He'd gone to the studio earlier that day. They were more than halfway done with his first album, so that was exciting! He couldn't wait for it to come out, though the thought of that made him feel sick to his stomach and excited at the same time. It was a strange thing. However, he wasn't focusing on his album tonight. He and Rosie were getting together. While that wasn't a unique thing, Brandon couldn't help feeling a little weird lately. She was a vampire. He knew that wasn't Rosie's fault and was proud of her for how well she seemed to be adjusting to the change, but part of him felt left behind, in a weird way. It wasn't that Brandon wanted to be a vampire too, but now there were all these things about her that he just didn't understand, even though he tried hard to be supportive in every way he could. He couldn't understand what it was like to have the sun burn you, or to feel the thirst for blood. He didn't judge Rosie for any of it, he just wasn't quite sure where he fit in anymore. Not that he was planning on bringing it up or anything. Tonight the two of them planned a calm evening together. Dinner at his place (which was part of the reason why he was struggling), and then just a movie or talking or whatever. He didn't know what to make. He knew she drank blood (he had a few bags in his freezer for when she came over). One of those bags was in his fridge (Brandon was really trying to be supportive) so it would be ready if she got thirsty, but could she eat normal food too? Would she even want to? He wasn't sure. So he stood in the kitchen, looking at his food and trying to decide what to do with it. In the meantime, Rosie should be arriving any minute. rose harriet granger-weasley

It had only been a few weeks since… the accident… but Rosie was already starting to feel more like herself. She was getting more and more confident than she’d come around and find who she had been again. But she also had this draining feeling that she would never be that girl again. Brandon had been a complete godsend though all of this and seemed to be slowly coming to terms with the fact that he was dating a vampire. She wouldn’t have blamed him if he left. If this was all too much for him. But not only did he stay, he embraced it and was the perfect human boyfriend. Though she still felt bad about biting him on her first night home.
He had invited her to dinner tonight, she had spent so much of the last few weeks shut up that she was glad to be out more now. Sure, she had to wear a heavy cloak when she went to work. But she was mostly fine in the actual building. And now, it was dark enough that walking was fine. She came up to his apartment and knocked on the door.

Brandon was more than a little relieved from the distraction when he heard a knock on the door. He was positive that would be Rosie, and while he still didn't know what to do about food for the night, he hurried to the door and opened it with a grin on his face. "Hey Rosie!" He leaned forward and gave her a quick kiss before moving to pull her into the apartment. "Did you work today?" he asked as he led the way back to the kitchen. Once he got there, he hesitated for a second and then looked over at her. "I ... I'm not really sure what to do about dinner. What are you thinking?" That was a good enough question, right? If she just wanted blood, she could have it. If she wanted something else, he'd make it. Though he wasn't really sure if vampires ate normal food ever or not. That's what was getting to him: the uncertainty. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon answered the door quickly, like he always did, and gave her a little kiss before pulling her into the flat. He closed the door behind her and asked if she worked today. “hey there you. Yeah I did. I got off and stopped at home to change before coming over here.” she explained to him while she followed him into the kitchen. She was kind of surprised that he didn’t have anything out cooking or being prepared yet. But then he explained that he didn’t know what to do about dinner and she gave a soft smile. He didn’t know what to feed a vampire. “I can eat normal food.” she assured him. “just low sugar.” she added. Sugary foods made her sick anymore. Which really sucked considering the massive stash of sweets she had in a kitchen drawer at her own flat. “what sounds good to you?” she knew she wasn’t really being helpful, but she wouldn’t eat as much as he would anyway so there was no point in her picking what they had when she’d be done after 4 or 5 bites.

Man, it was amazing how just seeing Rosie brightened his day. Sure, he saw her most days, and yes he knew that she made him happy, but when he let her in his apartment, most of his worries about the night went away. He smiled at her, "I'm glad you're getting back into the swing of things." He knew she wanted some semblance of normal in her life now and was happy she was getting there, even if it was just a little bit. Of course she knew what he meant when he said he didn't know what to make. Brandon noticed the way her smile changed, but not in a negative way. He nodded, his own smile widening as she explained. "I can do that," he told her cheerily. He shrugged when she asked what sounded good to him. "Umm, spaghetti?" he wanted to make sure she was in the mood for whatever he ended up making. Even as he waited for her answer, he started getting things out for it. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie nodded at his comment about her getting back into the swing of things. “yeah, me too. It’s helping a lot to have some of my work life back.” she loved her job. She really did. Even if it was kind of the reason that she was in this situation now. It wasn’t the prophets fault. They just sent her on an assignment. Her turning into that alley was her own fault. She didn’t blame anyone but herself and the vampire who attacked her. “what were you up to today?” she never really knew what he did day-to-day. She knew he was in the studio and playing music but she didn’t know really what that entailed.
He suggested spaghetti and she nodded. She loved pasta! She wouldn’t be able to eat very much of it, but it certainly sounded yummy. She wondered how weird he would feel if she mixed some blood into her sauce after she make her bowl. Maybe she could do it so he wouldn’t notice. She didn’t want to gross him out. “sounds great! How can I help?”

"I believe it," he answered easily. Brandon knew how much Rosie loved her job. She liked going to Quidditch matches, interviewing players and writing her reports. He knew that for a fact. He smiled when she asked about his day. "Nothing really out of the ordinary. I was at the studio for most of the day." His smile widened, "BUT we did put the finishing touches on half of my songs. So it looks like we're well on our way to finishing the album." Brandon was so excited about that. He still wasn't quite sure if anyone would be interested in his music, but it would be fun to get it out there. Rosie asked how she could help and Brandon paused a second. "You wanna do the pasta and I can get the sauce?" He was already starting to put the things together for a sauce, and it was the more "complicated" part of the dish. He could handle it. "So what're you doing besides going to work and coming to see me lately?" Brandon asked with a smile as he worked. He was no good at small talk. It always ended up super awkward. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie adored how supportive Brandon was when it came to everything that she did and everything that she loved. She knew that he wasn’t nearly as unto Quidditch as she was, but that didn’t stop him for asking about it and taking an interest in her work. And even though she had no idea what went into producing an album, she tried her best to pay attention and offer support in return. It was so easy to support him. “That’s amazing. I can’t wait to buy the first copy.” she smirked. She had heard him sing and play. He was amazing. His voice left her weak at the knees.
“sure.” she agreed when he asked her to do the pasta while he put the sauce together. Rosie liked to cook, but she couldn’t say that she was that good at it, so he was smart not to entrust her with anything she could really mess up. She filled the pot and left it to start simmering before she added the dry pasta. “oh not much. I went to lunch with Jess, sat in a meeting to divide the matches for the season and then came over.” she didn’t do much else on work days. She liked to focus on her work.

Brandon grinned when Rosie said she couldn't wait to buy the first copy. He rolled his eyes. "I am not going to make you buy it. You're my girlfriend. You get the first copy, signed, without charge." Brandon grinned, "Just try to get all your friends hooked and it'll go great." He didn't really mean that last part. He wasn't quite sure what would happen with his music, but he'd played for enough people to know that they liked his music. He should do quite well. Hopefully. She started to explain a bit more about her day and Brandon nodded as he worked on the sauce. "That's nice. How is Jess doing?" Brandon asked, a little bit distracted, but trying to focus on what she was saying. "Sounds like a pretty good day though." Relaxing at least, which was probably a good thing since she was still getting into the gist of things. At least, he thought she was. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon insisted that she wouldn’t be buying one because she was his girlfriend - she’d be given one. Even a signed copy. She smirked. “What a lucky girl I am.” she giggled, half teasing him and half being serious. She loved that he was living his dreams and that it was all working out for him. She certainly believed that he was talented and that he could do whatever he set his mind to, and she was proud that he was just as hard working. “She’s good, I’m glad she didn’t freak out when she found out what happened to me. It’s been nice having her aware of the situation.” she admitted. Jess was a good friend. She was glad to have such a good friend at work. “I got another international assignment.” she told him. “In Greece this time.” the last time she had gone on international assignment she had been attacked in Russia. She couldn’t say she wasn’t a little anxious about this one.

Brandon rolled his eyes as Rosie teased him, though he appreciated her teasing at the same time. This was Rosie, after all. She knew him better than anyone else, knew his goals, hopes, and dreams. She had her own too, and together he believed that the two of them could achieve everything they hoped to, even if they did tease one another. That was part of loving someone, being with them through the funny and silly, serious and hard and he wanted all of it. He smiled when Rosie explained that Jess responded well to finding out Rosie was now a vampire. Good. He was glad that other people were showing her she was still an accepted member of society. What happened to her wasn't her fault. "I'm glad you have someone at work that knows and is normal with you still." Really, it was silly for anyone not to be normal around her. Rosie was one of the kindest people he knew, even with her being a vampire now. Rosie mentioned that she had another international assignment and one of Brandon's eyebrows lifted. "Oh yeah? How ... do you feel about that?" He hesitated for a second before adding, "Would you feel more comfortable if I went with you?" He didn't want to be a bother, but he also wanted Rosie to have a positive experience, and for her to be safe. What better way was there of making sure that happened? rose harriet granger-weasley
