"Maybe we should go to the dance just to see Cassia's reaction," Peyton suggested with a giggle after Max had mentioned the Blishwicks. Max didn't really have a burning desire to see the younger Ravenclaw girl's spirits crushed, nor did she think that Peyton had any malicious intent. There were some people at Hogwarts who probably would have gotten their kicks out of seeing Cassia Blishwick's disappointment, but Max didn't peg Peyton as being one of them.
As for the Slytherin herself, Max had never been a gossip. Especially since having become a prefect, she knew who people were, but it wasn't something that she indulged in. "I think I'll go anyway," she told Peyton with a slight shrug. She held her wand out as they reached the dungeons, scanning the area for anything amiss. So far, all was quiet. "Unless Gilderoy slips us all some Amortentia at the start of the night, it can't be that bad, can it?"
