Liam hated leaving work early, but in this particular case he didn't really feel like he had a choice. There had been some sort of accident in the time room and ever since it happened he had this huge headache. Liam wasn't used to that sort of thing, so after trying to continue working for several minutes, he went and found his supervisor and asked to leave early. Since it was such an uncommon thing for Liam to try and leave so soon, he got permission fairly quickly.
As soon as he could, Liam apparated to the alley beside his house. Of course, with Summer staying with him, Liam had placed charms on his place so no one could apparate inside. He thought it was best for her safety, and with all the things that were happening around today, he didn't think it was a bad idea for his safety either.
He walked up to the door and knocked on it sharply three times to warn Summer than he was coming in before he opened the door. Once inside, Liam made his way to the kitchen and sat down at the table. It was only once he sat down that he realized he was shaking pretty fiercely. What in the world was going on with him?

One, two, three knocks. Liam was home. Summer jumped off of the couch, tossing her book to the side haphazardly. She skipped off to the kitchen, seeing Liam sitting at the table. Eyes wide, she shook her head at him, "bad day." She was stating a fact. She crossed over to the sink, grabbed a glass and filled it with water. Then to the ice box for ice. One, two, three ice cubes. She crossed back to Liam and set the glass in front of him, then quickly backed up. She climbed onto the table with ease, sitting on top of it with her legs crossed. She cocked her head to one side, "hurt?"

Liam just wanted to go to bed. He was shaking and tired and he didn't want to have to deal with any of whatever was going on. Then Summer came into the room, and said that it was a bad day. Liam nodded his head and sighed. "Not at first, but yeah." He was getting better at expressing himself, with her at least. It was nice because Summer wasn't the kind of person to judge.
The next thing he knew, she brought him water with ice in it. Liam smiled up at her, nodding his head a little bit. "Thanks." She was already sitting on the table now. "Yeah. There was an explosion ... something is wrong with me now. I don't know what happened."

Liam said the day was not bad at first. But that there was an explosion and something was wrong with him. She nodded, agreeing. She watched him in silence for a moment, making sure he took in some of the water that she had brought to him. His beautiful owl seemed happy that he was home and made a little chirping sound from the corner. Summers head snapped in that direction, her eyes widening slightly. She turned back to Liam. "Not good," she repeated. "You need rest,' she suggested. Her eyes shifted back toward the owl, a small frown adorning her lips. She let her hair fall like a curtain between herself and Liam, blocking the expression on her face from view. She shook her head a little, eyes shifting back to Liam.

Summer nodded when Liam said something was wrong with him. Well, that wasn't reassuring at all. He found his mood darken a little more, though he wasn't angry at Summer. This wasn't her fault. The problem was, he wasn't quite sure who he could blame for this mess but himself. Granted, he had no way of knowing the affect his work would have, the explosion that happened because of it. He smiled when he heard Harvey on the other side of the room, chirping happily. He loved his owl. He heard Summer saying that he needed rest and he nodded, taking another drink of water. Then he reached out his hand, "Hey Harvey, come over here," he called to his bird, feeling his mood lift ever so slightly as he looked at Harvey.

He held a hand out, calling for Harvey to come over to him. "No!" Summer called out. Suddenly, with a dance like motion with swiftness and ease, she leaped off the table. One hand on the table supported her as he legs launched to the side, landing gracefully on the ground so she was between him and the owl. She held her arm out, gently catching the owl by the foot as it flew by. Harvey swung around her arm and perched on her wrist, nipping at her fingers in annoyance but not trying to get away. "Can't touch anymore," she informed the owl, petting it softly, her voice reassuring.
She looked over her shoulder, looking back at Liam, her frown increasing. "You can't touch anymore, Liam," her tone was incredibly soft, but her vocal chords were shaking. She felt a lump of barbed wire forming in her throat and her eyes started pooling with tears. "Stay away from those you love. Gloves, maybe. But do not touch. You... let's see," she started to form an idea, to show him what she meant. She felt a little bad about it, but desperate times. She held out a hand, "accio fly," she cast, looking at a fly on the wall. It zoomed into her hand and she gently clasped around it. She nodded to Liam, "open hand."
