ALL THE FLEMING WANTED WAS another drink. That wasn’t too much to ask for right? Especially where they were, sitting by the bar, surrounded by flipping bartenders. The blue streaks that appeared on Calliope’s hair soon disappeared, the crawling colour of fiery-red. It showed her irritation, even if she was drunk as hell. Merlin, Calliope had many mood swings when she was drunk. With the blonde hissing back at her, brows furrowed in confusion. ”I thought…You were here to heeeelp me!” She complained, lolling out her words while slurring them also.
”Clearly not!” She announced, palm hitting against the counter top again. Maybe it was time to go, before she got into any hasty fights. She pushed back the stool of her seat then and hopped out of it. That was ultimately a bad idea considering her body felt entirely like jelly. She wobbled as she stood, legs shaking as she tried to balance herself out. ”Yoooou.” She said, pointing at the middle image of the bartender (considering she was seeing three of him.) ”Let’s go. Riiiight here, right now asshole.”

February 2025 Cal whined at her when she had the nerve to question what the heck it was that she thought she was doing, slurring her words and saying that she thought that she was there to help her. She was there to help her, Tamatha thought, although she was there to help her stay safe and out of any possible trouble because of how drunk she was.
"Clearly not!" Cal proclaimed, and, clearly, Tamatha had begun to fail in her own endeavor. The younger woman stood up—presumably in an attempt to leave—but swayed as soon as she was on her feet. (…If she would stay on her feet for long, that was.)
"Yoooou," Cal pointed roughly in the direction of the bartender. She told him that they should "go"—as in fight—right there and then.
Unsure if Cal had her wand on her, or if she even knew where it was, Tamatha grew increasingly concerned. She remained seated but drew her own wand preemptively, hoping to minimize the damage done to all involved. There was really only one way to ensure that, she thought, considering that Cal was too volatile to try anything else. "I hate to do this, but… Petrificus Totalus!" she cast, aiming her wand towards her.

BEING COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY PARALYSED wasn’t the way Calliope had wanted to spend her day. Nor did she want to get completely and utterly drunk but here she was. The spell had never actually been cast on her before, even during her rebellious phases with her sister and father, so it came as a shock to the rather…drunk Metamorphmagi. From it, she could only move her eyes, trying to loll them to the side and stare down the blonde who casted the spell, but she gave up after a few strains. The colour of Calliope’s hair changed then, fiery red turning darker, into a crimson colour. If a high level of anger could be met in any other way, Calliope was fascinated to see how it would go. Because now she was pissed.
She couldn’t speak, nor move, nor could she express (drunkenly of course), how bad she wanted to fight the bartender and the stupid pretty blonde who casted the spell. What else did the woman have plans for now? Take the Fleming home? On Merlin’s grave, Calliope would never return home to her father in this sort of state. It was always what motivated her to spend a few hours out on a nightly stroll to sober up before returning home!

February 2025 The good news was that the spell had worked as Tamatha had intended for it to work, although she cringed a little for the younger woman's sake as she fell to the floor like a domino. Although rendered wordless under the effects of the Full Body-Bind, Tamatha could tell that Cal was furious with her from the color that her hair had turned.
"I really hope I didn't hurt you," Tamatha said to Cal sincerely, knowing that she would at least be able to hear her and possibly roll her eyes or something like that in response to what she had to say. "And I'm not going to leave you here like that, either," she promised. It wouldn't reflect well on her, and she wasn't that type of person. "But—f**k—" Tamatha ran a hand through her hair, breathing out. The situation was a mess, and she wasn't even the one frozen on the ground. "You cannot just go and threaten to assault the bartender like that!"
Cal was so drunk that Tamatha was doubtful that she was even going to remember what she was saying, but it was worth trying, anyway. She knew that she was essentially talking to herself, but maybe—maybe—Cal would understand where she was coming from. In the hope that perhaps that would prove true, Tamatha knelt down on the ground beside Cal. "Look," she said more plainly, "you're practically my sister's age. I'll stay with you until you're sober enough for me to get you wherever you need to go, okay? Cool?"

IT WAS CLOSE TO ANY eye, human or odd species that Calliope Fleming was pissed. From the rainbow of colourful streaks that never stopped changing, her eyes shifting every moment she blinked and the hoarseness from her voice were all given evidence for it as well. Somewhere inside of the Metamorphmagi, she too knew how utterly drunk she was…But as usual chose to ignore it. How ignorant. It wasn’t until Tamatha had literally blinded the Fleming for the girl to realise how much trouble she had stirred up and even then, she felt like she should create more.
Frozen, she fell like an iceberg, harsh and loud, but no words could leave Calliope’s mouth. The ultimate downside of the spell. She could blink, and the moment Tamatha came closer, apologising for her actions, Calliope’s eyes shimmered a dark red, her anger only rising, fighting over the drunken state she was in. The assault towards the Bartender was mainly all talk, she didn’t have enough bite inside of her to actually hurt the poor worker. He was only doing his job. Even if Calliope didn’t want to admit the truth. Slowly, she blinked up at the elder American, trying to force her lips to even twitch into a frown, but the spell held her back completely.
Calliope wished she could reply, so instead she blinked twice — to signify that she understood — and while she hated Tamatha for her actions…She was also a little happy she went through with them.
@tamatha & we could end it with one more post each?

February 2025 Even if Calliope was thoroughly incapable of responding to her in any sort of verbal capacity in the state that she was in, Tamatha strangely got the feeling that the younger woman understood her point. It wasn’t safe for her to be behaving as aggressively as she was—and especially not while she was two sheets to the wind. She wasn’t doing what she had done—practically paralyzing the girl—to be some buzzkill; it was because she knew the kind of trouble that a young woman could find herself in without the same judgment that she might have had sober.
It was nice, at least, to think that Calliope understood that she wasn’t trying to be mean. And, sure enough, two blinks from the Metamorphmagus followed. Those seemed to be a nod—proverbially speaking—of acknowledgment on Calliope’s part, and Tamatha smiled sympathetically at her. She really didn’t have experience with Body-Binding drunk people for their own safety, so she was hoping that she was doing alright at it.
“I’m going to assume that the blinking was a, ‘Yes, I understand’?” she asked, not wanting to assume anything. She was the one who had reduced Calliope’s capacity to respond to her, so it only felt right to give her the benefit of the doubt. calliope ivory fleming OOC: Sounds good!
