MARCH 2025
SETTING UP PLANS WITH Gabriel was one of the worst things ever. At least that’s what Flora Lowell decided. The two had met so long ago, both attending a movie in one of the local London cinemas, and ironically they were both alone. Their friendship stemmed from there but only intensified once they bumped into one another in Diagon Alley. How nice it was to have more wizard friends. But something had been bugging Flora as of recent, exactly as to who was behind Azkaban’s infiltration and Hogsmeade’s destruction. Of course, order had been restored in Hogsmeade, but things were still difficult to grasp in the wizarding prison. And while Flora was a mere Beast Division Worker…She wanted to help. Or at least discover something. She thought she would get something out of Claire Slater from their brief conversation a while back but that’s all she was able to get. Something brief.
Flora sat in a small like booth in the Leaky Cauldron, waiting as time passed by for Gabriel. He had…something to discuss with her, but didn’t disclose what over their many owls. It wasn’t like Gabriel to keep quiet about things or secrets, but Flora didn’t mind meeting with him. He made the hours pass by just by speaking to him after all. With a small coffee in hand, the Lowell lifted the white cup, the bitter taste of the coffee helping her system rid itself from sleep.

Gabriel was running.
It was indeed hard to make plans with him. Being an actor, he was always in a rush to get somewhere and do something. He was auditioning, rehearsing, going to class, etc. He and Flora tried their best to see a movie every other month or so, but this was a busy season. But he had to talk to her now. Here he was, running to meet her.
He finally spotted the Leaky up ahead and dashed inside, shaking rain off of himself. He was in such a hurry he didn't even pull out his umbrella after he had apparated as close as he could. The pub itself had anti apparation spells, so he managed to get about thirty feet close before running in the rain.
He made his way over to her, excusing himself through people and shrugging off his coat as he leaned down to quickly kiss her cheek before taking a seat across from her, "sorry, sorry, sorry," he said quickly. "Crazy day. As the usual."

LATE, LATE, LATE. ALL GABRIEL knew was how to be late — at least that’s what Flora concluded. She wasn’t mad in the slightest as she settled down in the Leaky Cauldron, coffee in hand while her lips pursued, blowing a short breath to rid the beverage of its heat. Once the door opened once more and Flora heard the sound of rain, she didn’t even need to turn before she felt a soft kiss press against her cheek, leading to a flush of red filling her cheeks. He always found ways to surprise her.
”Another audition?” She asked, reaching forward to ruffle his hair lightly. She loved being in the rain, being caught in it, and being in the woods before the drizzle began to start. She simply loved everything about it. ”Or…Rehearsal? When’s the next big thing going onto the screens? I wanna make sure I’m pretty much the first person there.”

She asked if his lateness was due to another audition, ruffling his hair. He grinned, setting his wet jacket aside over the back of his seat. She suggested perhaps he was at a rehearsal instead, and what the next big thing was going onto the screens. He wouldn't mind one bit if his dear friend Flora was the first one there. ”Rehearsal this time. We're in tech week for Spider-Man,” he explained. He wasn't playing the lead, but he was enjoying it nonetheless. Sometimes it was nice to just be a part of the ensemble. ”As for the screens... I do have an audition next month for an indie film. I don't think it will go in major theaters but it'll at least get entered into festivals if it's any good,” he chuckled.
After they had placed their orders with the waiter, Gabriel leaned forward and lowered the volume of his voice. ”So, I spoke to Will Windsor... he went to my school,” he started, ”he's... what do you think about all this war stuff?” Gabriel was a sweet, simple soul and he didn't really care for the conflict but... things were getting more complicated, even he could tell. Even if he was terrified of his own brother being a squib, he knew that Frankie shouldn't be punished for that. Well, not necessarily punished. It was complicated. Maybe Flora could shed some light on a course of action.

FLORA ALWAYS LOVED IT WHEN Gabriel smiled. He had the cutest, purest smile, like he was a kid with no restrictions holding him down. Except he was an adult, confined to the reality of the real word and especially because of his interest in acting, he must have found it hard at times. She was excited to hear that he was at a rehearsal and it was for Spider-Man! He had been going on about that for weeks via owl, so it was great he was a part of it. ”I hope you get the role.” She told him, reaching out to squeeze at his hand for comfort. ”Regardless, I’ll find a way to watch it. Even sneak into those festivals.” She would drop everything at work just to put her focus on it. Supporting your friends was important after all.
With their orders placed, Flora’s mind shook at the reminder as to why they were there. They both had been looking into…’groups’ as the weeks followed and the Lowell was now confident to say she wanted to fight against those…Purifiers? Was that the name? ”Will Windsor…” He sounded familiar, but Flora didn’t know many people considering she had went to school back in Australia. Merlin, she needed more friends. ”It’s just getting worse…” She sighed. ”A woman called Vic found me. I’ve been snooping into things ever since Azkaban’s destruction. I have a feeling someone I know is also a part of these things but I just don’t know anymore.”

She said she hoped he would get the role for the film and he smiled a little lopsided as she squeezed his hand. He nodded, "you wouldn't have to sneak in, Flora. I'd bring you along as my plus one or something," he suggested, squeezing her hand back. He was honestly pretty self conscious right before an audition, but when the moment came to actually perform his piece his nerves always just turned into energy. He hoped that would serve him in the long run. It had worked for him so far.
She questioned who Will Windsor was for a moment, seeming to contemplate the name as the conversation shifted. As she spoke of the way getting worse she talked about Vic. Vic, he assumed, was in reference to someone else helping in the efforts. Flora said that she had been snooping and thought someone she knew was a part of it all. "A part of it how? An instigator? Who?" he paused, shaking his head. "I mean, if you want to tell me. Honestly, I just can't figure out where I fit in. Will said that he works with a group that is trying to methodically handle things whereas... wait. He said there's another group -- more... aggressive, I guess. What did this 'Vic' say?"

FLORA FELT THE BLUSH RISE to her cheeks immediately, while her smile was softer, as if she were too shy to smile around Gabriel. The squeeze she felt back was comforting, and Flora couldn’t take her eyes away from his. How oddly romantic.
With the conversation shifting, Flora’s brows furrowed together as they weighed out their options. Will had gone to see Gabriel and Vic for herself but could they even trust these people? ”I don’t know? You know when you just get those gut feelings? And you might be right? It’s one of those…” Trailing off, Flora began to process her thoughts, trying to recall if the woman ‘Vic’ had even left a name of said group. ”Helio..? Helio something? She mentioned that there was a group who were too…soft when dealing with things…Do you think she could’ve been speaking about Will’s group?”

Well, it was fairly clear they had spoken to people with two different beliefs from two different groups... which made him sit up a little straighter. "Yeah, yeah I know that gut feeling... I guess the question now is... where do we belong I just know that..." he moved from his spot across from her to suddenly slide into the seat next to her instead. Upon sitting down, he took one of her hands in both of his and leaned forward to speak in a lower tone. "Whatever you choose, I can't get into a war without you. We have to be on the same side, even if the 'good guys'," he paused, "are split in half. But you... you have a good feeling about Vic? You want to really fight?" Gabe was more the type of person to talk things through, but... when it came to Flora, Jamie and Veronica... it was impossible to do things his own way. He couldn't not be with them.
