overall personality:
Lúthien is fiercely passionate, more than a little crazy and above all, strong and chaotic. While several traumatic experiences coloured her past her way of rising above it shaped her more than anything. She'd cold and calculating in most situations but when mixing passion and joy she's dangerously impulsive and will stop at nothing to achieve what she sets her mind to. She is unafraid of death, pain or other consequences. She fears the traditional sense of happiness as she equates it to boredom and psychological pain. Playing happy family doesn't interest her at all, even if part of her deepest wishes is to have a family of her own. Her idea of a family is just a lot less traditional, as it includes equal parts of freedom as well.
When angered, Lúthien will stop of nothing to spite or take revenge on those she feels wronged her. She enjoyed hurting people for her own amusement. Lack of interest or reaction is a challenge. Begging can be either amusing or extremely boring. Lúthien is not so that she feels pleasure in the kill itself. She feels pleasure at the impact things have on the world around her. Anything that causes chaos is good and death rarely causes more destruction and change than survivors do. While she's done plenty of crazy things she's mostly streered away from doing bad things to good people, opting to make dangerous choices for herself and her future to keep her life interesting.

history:
Lúthien was born to an impossible couple. A carefree and chaotic young woman with lawful ambition that simply wished to make the world a better place and her worse half, Amroth, the alluring criminal hoping to escape his past life in his union with Illaria. Unfortunately for Lúthien, the criminal nature of her father wasn't something that her mother was willing to overlook. Or at least not after he'd been caught while Lúthien was in their life. He was forced to run, Illaria stuck with baby Lúthien. Lúthien took after her father, something that turned out unfortunate at best for Illaria. The woman, ambition and shame winning over motherly love, gave the small baby up for adoption.
Even though both her adoptive parents were nothing but kind to her and gave her a loving childhood with everything a young girl might need, Lúthien was too much like her father. Her love for her adoptive parents kept them from realising the truth, even to this day. Yet Lúthien discovered herself gifted in more than one way. The couple that adopted her took her from a muggle orphanage, where the mother, a witch and obliviator, had been called in to deal with a baby metamorphmagus. Her heart breaking for the child and with her and her husband already seeking a child to adopt, Lúthien found love and warmth in a family that at least would try to understand and support her.
They did, however, warn her not to let anybody at school know what she was and she shaped her talents in secret and used them at school to turn people against each other. It became, in the end, a secret she safeguarded with jealousy. She begged her parents not to tell people, saying she was fearful of being singled out for being different. Not that it mattered too much, she already was singled out for those exact reasons.
The differences between her and the other kids made her an easy target and she knew this. She attempted to escape her fate being bullied by isolating herself, often wandering into the forsts near her house despite the many warnings not to. She strayed from home at nights when her anguish and anger became too much for her to handle without screaming. She didnt want her adoptive parents to know just how conflicted she felt by not fitting in because she cared for them deeply. They had not wanted what she was any more than her birth mother but still found it within themselves to love her unconditionally.
The last summer before she was supposed to discover the magical world by enrolling in school, Lúthien witnessed by pure coincidence a werewolf tear a young wizard boy of about her own age to shreds after fleeing from a particularly awful school day. She had been hiding in the forest, angrily skimming through books on magic she'd stolen from her adoptive mother. While the ministry officials arrived in due time to save her life, that was an image she would never be able to erase from her mind. Her first encounter with the magical world was not positive and she eventually came to blame her biological mother mother for it.
Yet the trauma kept her quiet and only by playing her beloved flute would she communicate her mental state to her parents. By excessive practise the girl became extremely good at playing the instrument, and by the time her school started she favoured communication through music over regular communication. While forced to speak in school, she never quite ceased to use her preferred method of communication.
Since her biological mother was magical, as she discovered upon entering the magical world herself, she figured that Illaria must have been capable of at the very least sending birthday cards. Since her father was presumed dead or at the very least on the run she forgave him for not sending word. Yet such a high ranking woman with no care for her own offspring caused a seed of quiet hatred to grow. The young girl was prone to violence, manipulation and vengeance long before the situation with her mother added fuel to that fire, but the fuel empowered her and her rage made her stronger. Her silence deepened and only the flute could coax out her more human side.
While in school, she joined small pockets of wizards and witches engaged in nefarious activities while keeping an outward appearance of perfect poise and composure. Nobody would know. Yet when time approached for action, Lúthien fell short. She had, like so many before her, fallen in love. She'd met a transfer student from Hogwarts, a Slytherin that was full of ambition but was righteous and brave. He stood for doing the right thing and had caught Lúthien off guard. He understood her every note when she asked him question through her music and the inevitable had happened.
Alas, it was not meant to last. Her fellow students attacked her upon realising her betrayal to their group ad she strayed to the side of justice. They feared she eould expose them to the school staff and wanted to make sure she would keep quiet, something they took further than they had intended to. With severe wounds she recovered and spent nearly all her time with Cormir Kaiser, the man she now was certain she loved. After all, she had suffered through all of that for him, even though she never told on her former allies and had never intended to do so in the first place. The two finished school, moved in together and Lúthien for a while abandoned whom she was and the chaos she sought and desired for this boy. The logical thing happened after a few months and Lúthien found herself with child. Cormir was out of the country for business and she dreamed of telling him, yet as his business trip grew longer and contact grew small she dicovered he'd found a new companion and presumed he was cheating.
She never told Cormir she'd gotten pregnant and didn't mention it when the child was born several months early, fighting for life. The child died and when Cormir returned and she learned he'd never been unfaithful Luthien panicked and was unable to tell him. Yet he spoke always of the family name and line and how he was the last to continue them. Of his duty to the family so when Lúthien discovered her chances of granting him a child impossibly small, she left without a moments notice or a goodbye. Her pain combined with her inability to make him happy struck her wanderlust and she took to the road, fleeing from a life that she felt was impossible for her to have.
She was angry and agonised to learn he'd found a different girl within a year and had found love with her as well as those heirs he so desperately needed. Twins. Meanwhile she had taken on a job as mercenary, following in the footsteps of her father without realising that she did so. At first her jobs mostly involved chaos and destruction but when the time came that she was forced to make her first kill she realised it was much easier than people said it would be. She started taking on contracts as hit witch and assassin on occasions, picking her contracts to be certain to only kill those that were bad people and she gradually grew richer. In order to improve efficiency she started learning legilimency, making it easier to hunt her prey as well as read the minds of those that might want to bring her harm. Ever prepared to strike, Lúthien did what she could to gain the upper hand in most, if not all possible conflicts. She knew chaos like the back of her hand and navigated it with ease most of the time.
Yet even this world had set rules and expectation to irritate her. Lúthien started to unravel as time went on and she got more skilled and more bored. She started lashing out at those that employed her, even taking out a few major names but it brought her no peace. Just when things started to look dire with several big names after her own, she ran into her saviour. All by accident they encountered one another during their criminal shenanigans and it was love at first crime. The two instantly connected and after a few completely wild monthss the two got engaged. Before they got around to the marriage (stealing a proper dress was still a lot of work after all) disaster struck and landed him in jail.
While on the run, Lúthien often used her metamorphmagus abilities to escape pursuit, changing things such as hair and eyes and nose after diving into a busy crowd. Since she'd never told people about her abilities and guarded the secret jealously, often speaking jealously about those having it, people did not quite expect it, and thus it made getting away easier. Not to mention that she could search the minds of a few people as she hid, trying to see if they were still following her. She mostly avoided it as it usually caused it to make her easier to trace, but at times caution wasn't as important as certainty. Still, she got caught and ended up explaining the situation, making a deal for her freedom. Her would-be-husband was enraged to hear this, leading to Luthien going into hiding, only not from the ministry this time. She'd given them all the information they needed to put him behind bars forever.
Edit included for on-site events:
While still committing crimes while on the run from her ex and the criminal underworld, Luthien eventually find herself making a deal with the minsitry to get herself a more permanent identity to escape her past. They put her in the Wizarding Protection Program and got her a new identity and job to hopefully keep her out of trouble. Yet Lúthien, still seeking chaos and freedom, joined the pirate crew of one of her old school friend Bjorn, partially without informing the ministry ahead of time. In a random bout of chaos she decided to marry a man she'd only met once before in February 2026, having met him undisguised previously. While unexpected the event has given her hope for the future.
