June 13, 2025 -Open!-
Being a squib didn't stop Vasilia from having a good time at magical bars. Technically speaking she was still "magical", just couldn't use magic herself. Anyway, River Walks was a popular bar, and one of her favorites. Due to her inability to apparate though she didn't come often. She either needed a wizard to take her, or she had to take a train. Anyway. She'd just spent the day up in Hogsmeade, selling ice cream from the cart, and decided to celebrate at the bar on her way home. Maybe shack up at a local motel for the night because... why not?
The nightly crowd was beginning to trickle in and a live band was performing tonight instead of a DJ. Vasilia, already a little tipsy leaned into the bar with a grin. "Another shot!" she called. The bar tender obliged, magically pouring the shot for her as she flipped the coins on the bar top. "Thank you!" Still polite in any situation, the thanks got a grateful smile from the bar tender. He probably didn't get thanked often. With a cheers to no one in particular she downed the shot, shook her head as the liquor burned her throat, and set the shot glass down. Pushing away from the bar she ran her hair through her hair, tossing her red locks over her shoulders before turning to a stranger. Despite being a little tipsy already she could tell they were wanting to have a good time tonight, and she didn't see any close companion that may cause any complications.
The band had just started a new song and Vasilia approached this stranger. If her initial read of them was right, they may be receptive to her advances. "Want to dance?"

▲ It had only been three days since the incident at the Championship match, and Mickey still hadn’t been able to shake it off. All of his teammates and friends had gotten out fine, but that could have been the Bats out on the pitch, and their fans injured. He knew there was no reason to feel guilty over it. And yet here he was, three days later trying his best to forget it. River Walks was unbelievably packed and a few of his teammates were somewhere amidst the crowd. Knowing them, they were pressed up against the stage where the band was playing. Despite all being drunks and bar flies, he was the only one that preferred sitting at the actual bar. They were the ones that always wanted to go clubbing, and who was he to turn them down? This was their way of trying to put the events behind them and so far it seemed to be working. The best way was to drink until he forgot. That had happened plenty of times before and that was the plan for tonight. The funny part about River Walks? It was the only place his crew wasn’t the rowdiest. The locals knew how to put their drinks back, and there seemed to be a larger party crowd here tonight than usual. He assumed it was the band. They were pretty good, though he had his bad ear turned to them currently and could only hear a muffled banging through it. What the good ear did pick up though was a person next to him yelling for another shot. Mickey turned in time to see a girl pound down the glass. That made him raise his own drink to her and finish it off. He was going to look like an old man sipping on that thing forever, and eventually his friends would be forcing shots down him. It was better to get a baseline going so those didn’t hurt nearly as much later in the night. Pushing his newly empty glass towards the bartender, he felt the girl walk up next to him and ask him to dance. Thinking on it for a second, Mickey caught the bartender’s attention and ordered two more shots, sliding one to the girl. “Sure,” he said, downing whatever it was. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

The man she'd approached was attractive. It also helped that she could see a few tattoos. No doubt he had more. As personal experience, you tended to have just as many hidden as visible, if not more. Not that Vas was complaining. Vasilia happened to be a major fan of tattoos, considering how many she had herself. He took a moment to respond, though when he did he didn't immediately answer. Instead, he ordered a pair of shots, sliding one in front of her before accepting her offer. Vasilia smiled, and took the shot glass in her hand, downing it in the same moment he downed his own.
The liquid courage burned her throat, but the couple shots she'd downed already lessened the burn to a tolerable level. "Now then, you've promised me a dance," she said slyly after both shot glasses hit the bar top. She took a few steps back, smirking and holding out a hand to him. She gaze remained focused on his own, never wavering. He had promised after all. And she reeeeaaally wanted to dance.

▲ Sliding off of his chair at the bar made Mickey realize exactly how much he had had to drink so far. The shot a second earlier hadn’t even had time to kick in yet and neither had the remainder of his drink before that. Knowing he had a few minutes of mental clarity left, getting the dancing started now was better than nothing. As long as his legs could keep him standing, that was all that mattered. Nobody truly cared once you were on the dance floor anyways. There was a reason clubs were kept dark and loud. “I did, didn’t I?” Mickey confirmed, tossing a tip down on the counter for the bartender, before taking her hand. He’d close out later, but he liked tipping as he went. It always ended up with bartenders treating him better. Maybe even let a few things go when his team started to get out of hand later on in the night. “So…you come here often?” Mickey asked, as if that was the go to line for anything that happened like this. He’d probably said it a few dozen times already in his life, not to mention hearing it repeated in just as many muggle films. In his opinion, it broke the ice better than just straight up asking personal questions. River Walks was a pretty popular club, so he figured the answer would be a resounding yes. Who didn’t want to be in a night club under Loch Ness? Despite being underwater, it was far from being claustrophobic, which he assumed was due to a litany of charms around the place. That coupled with the excessive alcohol was about to make dancing unbelievably easy for Mickey. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Vasilia wasn't really a hard core party girl. She looked like it, she knew that. Nights like tonight were rare, when she just let loose and had some honest fun that people expected of others her age. Just went out and had a good time, and didn't care about the consequences after. His answer to her own words made her smile brightly. Again, he wasn't saying no. He finally moved away from the bar, taking her hand in the same moment. She started for the dance floor.
"Not often enough, unfortunately," she answered with a sigh. Really, she should get out more. It was good for her. To stop working for a night and just go have some fun. "Usually down in London, actually. Don't always have the time to come up here. You?" He didn't look familiar, so they must not frequent the same places... That or the alcohol was making it hard to recognize him. Though, she was usually good with faces. She was pretty sure she didn't know him.

▲ She had it right: it was unfortunate that he didn’t come here more often too. But with the way the team liked to hit up every bar from Diagon to their headquarters in Ballycastle, making it this far north didn’t happen nearly enough. Which sucked, because it by far had the best atmosphere of any magical bar around. Too many nights were spent getting rooms at Gambling Galleons in Horizont, the lightweight chasers calling it too early and not able to make the disapparation jump back home. Mickey was starting to think that it was a keeper thing, being able to hold his liquor and observe the entire situation going on around him and the team. He wasn’t captain yet, but he knew how to manage the pitch. Preventing the beaters from going insane over drinking more shots than each other and the seeker from sliding off their chair was only part of the game at the end of the day. Just like stopping the quaffle was. Really they needed a manager to handle all of this nonsense, but what fun would that be? “Same. Feel like I’m in London too much for work sometimes though. Too crowded for my tastes.” Mostly because the paparazzi swarmed before and after matches like mosquitos. He wouldn’t be surprised if there were a couple hanging around the bar right now, hoping to get a ‘scandalous’ picture of the Quidditch team going a little too hard. Like any of them cared. Getting your photo in one of the tabloids was a rite of passage these days in the Quidditch community. Trading articles about being a loose cannon or an alcoholic was like exchanging trading cards. Mickey hadn’t been pegged with any good ones yet, the writers being afraid of incurring the wrath of his father’s team with the league correspondence group. Still, he sort of wanted to start a collection. “What keeps you down there then?” he yelled over the music. Just having to think about needing to raise his voice so she could hear him helped his mind sober up a bit. Unfortunately the heavy, sandbag feeling latching onto his legs told him otherwise. The longer he could talk, the more likely he could get his legs to start cooperating for dancing. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
