The girl heard the last of her siblings say wish her good night, along with a warning not to stay up too late. The girl sat in the penthouse living room, in her pajama shorts and tank top, with an over sized jacket around shoulders. With her legs up, she worked on her laptop. She agreed with their statement, saying "I'll just finish this last line, then I'll head off to bed" The girl was on fire. She had been working on processing this game for the past year, when she wasn't at school and busy with homework. Things were clicking so well tonight, Thursday didn't want to stop. So she didn't. Being so enveloped with her project, she didn't even notice the beginning signs of morning. In fact, she didn't notice that she had staid up all night working on this game, not even when she heard someone getting up and moving around the penthouse. She figured that it was someone getting up in the middle of the night, just to go to the bathroom, or stretch their legs. How was she to know. One last line, she told herself. One last line. She saved her project as she looked up to see who was coming into the area.

Monday preferred staying up late to waking up early, when she could, mostly because that tended to be how her siblings operated, too. When she had gone to bed, Thursday had been working on her laptop, and when she got up after realizing that she couldn't force herself to sleep in…? Well, it was the same story, she realized; Thursday was exactly where she had been the night before. Had she slept? Monday wasn't sure.
"Hey, Thor," Monday greeted her with a yawn, stepping lightly against the floor as she approached her younger sister. She wanted to make sure that she was quiet enough not to disturb any of their other siblings' sleep—and that she wouldn't disturb Thursday if she was still trying to focus on something important to her. At least the penthouse didn't echo as much as everything did at Hogwarts, Monday thought as she took a seat in a chair near her sister. It was sort of funny that she and Thursday—despite their age gap and the markedly different effects of their respective "half-breed" blood statuses—were actually close in size.
"Do you want breakfast or anything?" she offered, bending over to cuff the legs of her pajamas. They seemed to be the only ones awake, so there wasn't any harm in asking.

It was Monday who was coming out. The girl wondered what her sister was doing up, had she gone to bed at all? How long had she been working on her project this time? Thursday loved her personal goal, to design a video game of her own. She had an idea and was working on the process of creating it. The concept of the game was fun to think about, actually creating a working prototype was hard. She was working on player controls, and just about had a smooth movement, but the player glitched when it tried to jump. She had been working on fixing that issue. She had it perfect, until she tried to disable the jumping ability if the player was already in the air. That was then it started to glitch again.
"What's up Mo?" She smiled at her older sister, the only one that was shorter than her. Following up with a yawn, man those were contagious. After the program saved her progress, she tried it again. Glitch. Thursday released a grown. She then took a deep breath. Maybe it was a good time to take a break. She looked at her sister who was now sitting down.
"Do you want breakfast or anything?" Her sister had said. It took a moment for her tired brain to think about it. "Yea, that sounds....wait what?" She look towards the windows, which were covered, but she could still see signs of the morning. She had staid up all night working on that stupid problem, and didn't really get all that far! Flinging her head back to the edge of the couch, Thursday took a deep breath in, then released another, longer groan. She let the sound go until her lungs were emptied. Only then did she raise her head up again and nodded "Might as well. Whachya thinkin?"

sunday groaned as he rolled over and the light streaming through the gap in his curtains hit his face. he pulled his quilt up above his eyes for a second but came to the realisation that is was futile. he was awake now and there was no going back to sleep. he kicked his quilt off and dragged his hand over his head as he sat up. he wondered if any of his siblings were awake yet, though he wasn't holding out much hope. none of them were really early rises, when they had the choice. he quickly changed from his pyjama's into sweats and a shirt, pulling it over his head as he walked out of his door.
surprisingly he heard voices, soft enough that he couldn't tell where they were coming from straight away but loud enough for him to know that someone was certainly awake. he suppressed a yawn behind his hand as he walked down the hall that led away from their rooms and towards the living areas of the penthouse. "morning." he said as he got to the living room, leaning against the doorframe he crossed his arms over his chest as he heard monday ask their sister about breakfast. "want me to make it for you guys?" he asked, resting the side of his head against the frame.
he took in thursday and frowned just a slightly. "guess you didn't go to bed?" she looked like she was in the same spot she'd been in when he'd said goodnight to her the night before. it wouldn't really surprise him if she'd been up all night but as someone who didn't sleep at the best of times, he knew how the day after an all nighter could be somewhat of a struggle.

Thursday asked her what was up but seemed more preoccupied with whatever she had been working on than the thought of food—at least at first. As she let out a prolonged and exasperated groan, Monday frowned a little at her frustration but could hear another one of their siblings stirring from a distance already.
Monday looked up to see that it was Sunday, who greeted them and then—hearing their conversation—offered to make breakfast, as well. Just as she was prepared to respond to say that it wasn't a problem if they wanted her to whip something up, Sunday's attention had turned to Thursday and the fact that she apparently hadn't slept.
"It's okay, Sun. I don't mind making something," Monday replied, stretching a little. She, unlike Thursday, had slept. "Unless you wanna help?" Honestly, he was probably the better cook of the two of them—and it wouldn't be as difficult for him to reach all of the ingredients without levitating them out. That said, he was still too young to use magic to speed up the process of making breakfast, so she had an advantage on that front.
She looked between Sunday and Thursday. "What sounds good to you two?"

Thursday had heard her brother, but was a bit detracted with the act of kicking herself for staying up all night and barely making any progress on her game. After dragging her fingers through her pink hair, she signed. Oh well. She knew for sure that she had to take a break from her game, and step away from it. She'd hop on the coding forums later and see what they had to say regarding her problem.
Thursday moved her laptop to her side and crossed her legs, pulling the over sized jacket around her. "What sounds good to you two?" Thursday smiled, "Chocolate chip pancakes, with peanut butter, Nutella and syrup." Her sweet tooth at work. She then looked at her brother "Morning Sun, how'd you sleep?" She said with a yawn. Today was going to be rough if she couldn't find some time later to catch a nap. "I can help make breakfast Mo" She wasn't the best in the kitchen, and she was just about as short as her sister, but she needed a detraction from her problem.

he nodded a little when monday said she didn't mind making it. she did have the advantage of being able to use magic, he was still two years away from having that wonderful little trick up his sleeves. there were pro's and cons to being the youngest and that was of of the the cons. he was usually the last to be able to do something like that. "i'll help." he said as he stood up and away from the frame of the door and he looked at sunday as she said what she wanted. he agreed, for the most part. "that sounds great. though i'll swap out the nutella for jam... maybe some bacon on the side ..." he said with a slight grin as he walked across the room towards the two of them. "probably better than you did for once." he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. it was no secret that he suffered from sleeplessness and often wandered around their house back home or their apartment here. "did you finish what you needed too?" he asked thursday as he walked through towards the kitchen, flicking the light switch with his hand as he did.

Thursday answered first, saying that she wanted chocolate chip pancakes, "with peanut butter, Nutella, and syrup," perhaps the most "Thursday" answer Thursday could have given her. She offered to help with breakfast, as did Sunday, who said that he would swap out the Nutella for jam and add some bacon on the side. Surprisingly, it wasn't the most convoluted breakfast order.
As Sunday asked Thursday how her project was going and then entered the kitchen, Monday looked between him and Thursday. "Okay, but you guys have gotta be really careful with the Nutella and PB," she cautioned them. "We'll need to avoid cross-contaminating anything," she reminded them, considering Wednesday's nut allergy. She would make sure that everything was cleaned up properly after the fact, but it wouldn't hurt them to take a few precautions.

There were many days when Thursday didn't like, or really want to eat. This morning was not one of those mornings. Sunday made his suggestions for adjusting the breakfast and Thursday licked her lips. "I'll still have Nutella, but bacon sounds amazing. Salty and Sweet is the best" Anything sweet was the best to Thursday.
"did you finish what you needed too?" Thursday let out another groan. "Yes, but then more problems arose. It just wouldn't fix itself. If I got rid of the changes, the glitch was gone, and if I put the code back in, the glitch started back up again." She looked at her laptop. She had to walk away from it for a while "There has to be something wrong with those few lines of code. I just cant figure out what" She closed her eyes tight as more light entered the room form Sunday flicking on the light. Her eyes were fairly light sensitive, but they would adjust shortly.
Thursday stood up, just as Monday, being the eldest of them all, took on a more grown up approach. "We'll be careful" She said as she hopped off the couch and quietly walked over to the kitchen where her brother had led. "So, where do we start?" Thursday wasn't the best in the kitchen, and probably would end up making a bit of a mess, but the end result would be yummy.

sunday looked back at monday as she reminded them to make sure to keep anything they put the nutella and peanut butter into separate. the last thing any of them wanted was to almost kill their sister by putting something she was allergic too into any food they cooked. food sometimes seemed to be communal in the weekly house, he'd put things in the fridge and come back later to find they'd be gone. it didn't really bother him much but it paid to be careful when putting things together. "got it." he said with a quick grin as he walked to the fridge to pull the milk out. it would be a whole lot easier if he could wave his wand and the food would start cooking itself but by hand it was, at least in the things he could help with.
"i'd offer to help but numbers and code aren't my thing." he said as he looked at thursday. he liked playing games, he was good at some of them, better at others and terrible at most but anything his siblings made he'd try. their music, games and anything else they could create, after all he knew they'd do the same thing. "batter." he said as he reached down to pull a bowl out of the cupboard. setting it on the counter he looked at monday. "got any recipe in mind? or is a throw everything into the bowl and cross our fingers morning."

"I'll still have Nutella," Thursday considered upon Sunday's mentioning what he wanted, "but bacon sounds amazing. Salty and sweet is the best."
Apparently, her coding efforts hadn't been the best, though, as she explained to Sunday that more problems kept arising with the project. She still wasn't sure what the problem had been, but she seemed stressed by it. It was probably a good idea, Monday thought, for her to take a little break from it.
Both Thursday and Sunday gave her their word that they would be careful. Thursday entered the kitchen next, and Monday followed them in.
"So, where do we start?" Thursday asked, as Sunday went to grab milk from the refrigerator.
"Batter," Sunday answered Thursday, before turning to Monday again after grabbing a bowl. He asked her if she had a recipe in mind, or if they were just going to throw things into the bowl and cross their fingers.
Ideally, it would be the former. Monday looked at the milk. "Well, uh, between that and the bacon, we're obviously not doing this the vegan way," she noted with a laugh, though it would make it significantly easier than making the waffles with vegan substitutes for just about everything.
She thought through the ingredients and supplies to the best of her ability, and then looked to Sunday. "Okay, so! We're gonna need two bowls," she told him, "one for the wet ingredients and one for the dry ingredients." To make things even easier, either Thursday or Sunday could take one set of ingredients, and the other one of them could take the other. "And then we'll need…" She started counting off the wet ingredients on her left hand. "The milk, eggs, some sort of oil… and maybe some vanilla extract or something?" Then, on her right hand, she prepared to count off the dry ingredients. "And then flour, sugar… um, some baking powder, and, like, a little bit of salt?" That sounded right, at least.
Monday looked between Thursday and Sunday. "Do you two wanna decide who does what?" she checked with them. She didn't want to delegate tasks to them unless she had to. "And one or both of you are gonna have to grab the ingredients… Unless you want me to go get my wand?"

Thursday finally physically moved away from her laptop to walk over to the kitchen, when Sunday said that he would help, but didn't know how and she smiled at him "Thank bro, I think I'll just through it up on a message board and see what other people say." She gave a heavy sigh "Maybe I'm just over complicating things"
Giving another yawn she walked up to the counter and lazily pulled herself onto on of the kitchen stools. "Batter," Sunday had said, and Thursday gave a tired laugh. That was a good place to start. She sleepily watched as Sunday pulled things out from everywhere, she wasn't quite sure when that bowl got there, but it was there now. "Well, uh, between that and the bacon, we're obviously not doing this the vegan way," Thursday perked up a little more and looked around. She finally zeroed in on the milk "Nope" She said with a smile. She didn't necessarily hate the vegan fad, but she couldn't fully follow it anyway. And sweets trumped all, and many sweets were not vegan friendly, she was okay with that.
Thursday slumped in the stool so that her butt hung off of it, and her legs kept her on. She crossed her arms and lay her head on them with her eyes closed as she half listened to Monday start to take control of the breakfast, before it became a mess. Her head started to tilt, which startled Thursday awake again and she looked up as Monday said "Do you two wanna decide who does what?" She had missed something. She looked at Sunday "Uh, sure...um" Wait, what were the ingredients again. She heard milk. That was on the counter. Eggs, and flour? She liked flowers, but she didn't think they would taste that good in a breakfast thing. Pancakes? Waffles? Guess it didn't matter now, she would put sweet on it and it would be tasty.

he glanced at the milk and then looked at monday when she said it wouldn't be vegan. he laughed a little and nodded, agreeing with her. "well all the vegan's aren't here .. they can cook their own breakfast. you snooze you loose?" he said, tilting his head slightly as he started working on pulling out the flour and eggs they'd need to make the circular breakfast treat. he listened to list off the things they'd need, mentally checking them off his own and he nodded, going to dig through the cupboards to find what they'd need. "sugar, check. oil, check.... we're fresh out of vanilla." he said as he pulled his head from the back of the shelves and looked at his sister.
"chocolate to flavour them?" he asked. he didn't know how chocolate would go with bacon but he'd be willing to try it. or at least eat them from different plates. "well i think it'll be up to you and me." he said as he looked from monday to thursday. "i think she'll be asleep in about thirty seconds" he said with a slight grin as he started to measure out flour into a bowl, eyeballing it to what he thought would be a decent amount. he loved to cook but he wasn't really all that good at following the steps of a recipe. "we got this thursday, you can just eat them." he said as he reached across to grab the sugar. "so what's your game about again?"

"Well," Sunday stated, "all the vegans aren't here. They can cook their own breakfast. You snooze you lose?"
"What Mom and Dad don't know won't hurt them," Monday giggled. Most of them didn't adhere to veganism one hundred percent of the time, even if their parents believed that they did. It got to be a hassle, especially at Hogwarts. It wasn't as though the elves who worked in the kitchen there were used to cooking for celebrity kids from California, and British food was full of ingredients such as milk, eggs, meat, and butter. "I won't tell if you don't," she added to her younger siblings. It was sort of funny, really, that their family generally stayed vegan, given the fact that so many of them needed some variation on animal—or human, in Thursday's case—products for nutrition. Then again, most things about their family didn't exactly make sense to outsiders, but that was how they rolled.
Thursday must have nodded off before she had even begun her explanation about what they would need to make breakfast, Monday realized as her sister lifted her head from atop the pillow that she had formed for herself with her arms. She sounded a little dazed, and Monday wasn't entirely confident that Thursday even knew what she was saying as she agreed to help out.
Meanwhile, Sunday had already gone and gotten most of the ingredients, except he mentioned that they were out of vanilla.
"I'll put that on the grocery list," Monday replied, though she wasn't about to run out and buy more vanilla in time for them to use it that morning.
In lieu of vanilla, Sunday suggested that they use chocolate to flavor the batter. That would work.
"Chocolate's good," Monday agreed, though she had to wonder if making the batter entirely chocolate—rather than, say, chopping up little pieces of chocolate to about the size of chocolate chips to sprinkle into the batter—would make it too sweet. Well, Thursday certainly wouldn't complain about that.
Speaking of Thursday, Sunday, too, realized that their sister was barely awake. With a grin, Sunday estimated that Thursday would be asleep in "about thirty seconds", which probably wasn't too far off the mark.
It would likely be up to the two of them to get breakfast ready, though Monday didn't mind. Sunday began to measure out some flour, though he was mostly just estimating the amount, from what Monday could tell.
"Do you… maybe wanna get a measuring cup for that?" Monday teased as she eyed the bowl. It wasn't as though they were working from a recipe, anyway. If the pancakes turned out really weird, that would be their own fault, she supposed. As long as the ratios were right, that was… mostly what mattered. Wasn't it? She hoped.
As Sunday reassured Thursday that she would just be able to eat the pancakes once the two of them were done cooking them, Monday laughed softly, visibly crossing her fingers.
"I'll start on the wet ingredients," she told Sunday, grabbing the milk. That way, if the batter turned out too runny, it would be her doing.

Thursday laughed in agreement at remark. "you snooze you loose?" seemed to be a motto lately. The siblings all seemed to be doing their own things, and interacting as their paths crossed. Thursday was more or less used to fending for herself, and occasionally eating with the family. Thursday didn't classify herself as a vegan. She never would be able to accept that. Most sweets were non-vegan friendly. And the girl was required to drink blood......human blood.
Her brother started moving around pulling out and checking ingredients. But the words just seemed to go in and out without registering anything. Her head comfortably on the cool counter and her arms, she slumped into a comfortable position. Words began to blur into sound. There was a shift, and Thursday was startled awake, but still very sleepy. Had she heard the word 'chocolate'? "we got this thursday, you can just eat them." With a sleepy smile at her brother, the girl slumped back again, putting her chin on her arms. "That sounds good" Her eyes closed, she listened to the movement of breakfast being made.
"so what's your game about again?" Thursday loved to talk about her game. "It's gunna be a puddle.....no puzzle game with adventure and monsters." The idea was better developed than that, but her brain wasn't able to recall it at the moment.
