these choices and voices. AS BRODY HANDED OVER HIS ticket, the De Snaijer tucked both of their tickets into her small bag. At his first question, Yvonne nodded slowly. She knew Brody probably wanted to look at the tower but considering the amount of towers the two have seen while they studied at Ilvermorny, the Slytherin wanted to see some new sights. "I mean...We can check out the tower later, you know?..Maybe..Around sunset?" It would be a pretty sight to see anyway.
At his next question, Yvonne hummed quietly to herself, trying to piece together an answer. "Hopefully not too long." She responded with a slight wide smile. "Maybe we can check the lines for both of them, if they're too long we'll go to the tower?...Basically rotate our plans?.."

June 25, 2025
Yvonne put both of their tickets in her bag for safekeeping. They would be less likely to fall out there, even if Brody was sure that he would have been able to keep track of his own. It also had the benefit of freeing up his hands, not that he was thinking about that too much until Yvonne spoke. "I mean…" she started. "We can check out the tower later, you know?" That was true. "Maybe… Around sunset?" Brody nodded. His first thought, besides the fact that seeing it at sunset would be pretty, was that it would be kind of romantic, like something from a No-Maj movie. He wasn't sure that Yvonne was thinking that far ahead, but he didn't mind it if that was what was running through her mind. The lines, though, hopefully wouldn't be a problem, as Yvonne answered him, smiling. "Maybe we can check the lines for both of them," she said, and Brody thought that that would work, too. "If they're too long," Yvonne continued, we'll go to the tower? …Basically rotate our plans?" "Yeah," Brody agreed with her, nodding his head again. "Let's do that. You know, check and see, and…" They could do that. Either way, they would probably still end up being able to do something at sunset, wouldn't they? Not that he was banking on that… Alright, maybe he was banking on that… but only a little bit. yvonne rae de snaijer

these choices and voices. WHEN BRODY NODDED AND AGREED, Yvonne also found herself nodding, looking for the direction the two of them should walk to first. She figured since they were close to either the London eye or the aquarium, it only made sense to check the queues for either first. Holding a little tighter onto his hand, Yvonne started their walk to the aquarium first, considering it was nearby the arcade too - another place they could explore later on if they were feeling bored. Yvonne briefly popped her head inside, seeing small children run about while parents called for them, and noticed that the desk for entry was somewhat clear.
Looking up at Brody and nodding at him, Yvonne continued on, leading them to the desk and finding her confidence to actually speak to the clerk. While many viewed the De Snaijer as a tough person or a bully, speaking to elders or in this case: No-Maj's spooked her. "Excuse me?.." She began, smiling small as the lady behind the computer looked up at the two of them. "We were wondering if there's any queue or waiting time in order to enter the aquarium?.."

June 25, 2025 With Yvonne leading him, the two of them walked first in the direction of the aquarium. From what he could tell as Yvonne opened the door to check inside, it looked like it was busy but not overly so. Brody was expecting it to be busier, honestly, but he guessed that the fact that there were multiple attractions in the area meant that they could absorb the crowds pretty well. Yvonne looked back to him and nodded to him to signal that it was okay, and they both entered the aquarium itself.
Brody was slightly surprised by how confident Yvonne seemed to be as she walked up to the desk to approach the No-Maj lady working there, although he guessed that she had probably had more practice with that than he had, at least in London. "Excuse me?" she asked, and Brody waited near enough behind her that it would have been obvious that they were together without standing in the way of anyone else who needed to get in line. "We were wondering if there's any queue or waiting time in order to enter the aquarium?"
The lady working there, who was seated at a computer, shook her head. "An adult Anytime Entry Ticket is forty quid," she explained, then beginning to rattle off all of the possible ticket combinations. It was more complicated than Brody anticipated; they could supposedly get a discount if they bought admission to multiple attractions at once, and one of the ones that the lady mentioned was the London Eye. Brody glanced over a sign that had the options for the different tickets listed on it, including that the adult admission was intended for those sixteen and older.
Just then, Brody caught another question from the employee. "How old are you?" she asked.
"Oh, we're both sixteen," Brody lied quickly, hoping that he sounded convincing enough. They had come all that way, and he didn't want to run into any problems just because they were slightly too young. He had only turned fifteen a month prior, of course, but the aquarium didn't need to know that.
yvonne rae de snaijer OOC: That is actually their ticket policy. Hahahahaha.

these choices and voices. YVONNE'S BROW ALMOST ROSE AT Brody's claim in regards to their age until she noticed the policy, stating that the adult admission was intended for customers who were sixteen and up. In fairness Yvonne was closer to sixteen now more than ever, despite only turning fifteen a few months back anyway. The De Snaijer shot the lady a smile as she felt satisfied with Brody's little white lie. "We have ID, if you want to see it?" Yvonne felt more than relieved that the two were American, as the lady waved off the offer to see ID and instead just requested the total amount.
"Kind of expensive if you ask me.." The Slytherin mumbled to herself, going through some notes in order to pay for the both of them - and then just request what Brody owed her later on in the day, especially since Yvonne felt confident enough to say she understood No-Maj money better than Brody ever could. As the lady clicked upon her mouse and fingernails typed away, Yvonne was quick to swipe the tickets from the ladies hand and began to pull Brody into the aquarium. "That..Was a close call." She muttered once they were further inside. "Nice lying."

June 25, 2025 Brody wasn't the type to lie so smoothly. He didn't try to defy authority… ever, really. It weighed too heavily on his conscience to lie about anything serious. But lying to a No-Maj he and Yvonne would never see again about their ages so that they could enter the aquarium without the need for adult supervision? That was something that he didn't feel guilty about having done in the slightest, even when Yvonne brought it up once they were safely out of earshot of the lady who sold them their entrance tickets. They were lucky that she hadn't asked to see identification, though their accents had probably worked in their favor there. There wasn't much point in hassling two kids who had to have been foreign tourists.
"So, what were you gonna do if she asked for ID?" Brody questioned Yvonne at a whisper, nudging her slightly. He didn't doubt that Yvonne had had some plan up her sleeve; she was creative like that, though that didn't mean that they wouldn't have had to make a break for it and run out of the aquarium before they got caught in their lie. It would have made for an interesting story to tell their respective siblings later on, Brody considered, but he didn't want to go back in time and find out.

these choices and voices. AT BRODY'S QUESTION, YVONNE FELT her shoulders rise, unsure of how to answer. "Honestly...I don't know." She replied back in a hush matter. It wasn't typical for Yvonne to carry any form of ID, especially since she spent most of her time in the Wizarding World and avoided No Majs at any moment. It was funny, considering the De Snaijer had an interest in them when she was younger. "I probably would've figured it out." She added, rather confidently.
As the two teenagers stepped inside, Yvonne found her lips widening into a small smile at the different type of fishes that swam amongst each other. It only resulted with Yvonne tugging at Brody's arm a little to pull him closer to the tank while her gaze softened and eyes widened in interest.

June 25, 2025 Yvonne shrugged in response to his question about what she had planned to do if the employee working at the aquarium had asked them for some form of identification. She admitted that she didn't actually know, but she then added that she probably would have figured it out. Brody had to laugh. He knew that Yvonne was right. She would have done something crafty enough in the moment, and Brody was sort of disappointed that he hadn't gotten the opportunity to see how that could have played out.
Maybe that was for the best, though, because they had made it into the aquarium. Being around owls for so much of his life, he had forgotten just how many different kinds of non-magical aquatic creatures there were. Even just one of the first tanks of fish was fascinating, and Brody felt Yvonne pull him nearer to it.
"Whoa," Brody exclaimed, checking out the fish. There were so many of them, and they were darting around so quickly. "How many of them are in here?"

these choices and voices. AS THE TWO TEENS STARED upon the fishes, Yvonne almost forgot where she was. Just for a moment anyway. Time had been rough lately, especially with her grandmother's constant nagging about the randomest of subjects...And other stressful matters anyway. But as Brody broke the silence between the two and more chatter from the crowd amongst them picked up, the De Snaijer blinked once, then twice, before turning her head to face her friend.
"Honestly?..Probably thousands...Maybe the leaflets around might say how many?" She added, suggesting for Brody to look there. "They're..so pretty though..and..free..I guess.."

June 25, 2025 Yvonne said that she didn't know how many fish were in there, but there was probably something around that would tell him if he wanted to know. Though Brody was curious, he wasn't sure that he wanted the distraction, either. He liked being by Yvonne's side like this, without all the other people in the school hallways—or "corridors", as they called them at Hogwarts. It was just the two of them, together, and they had never really gotten that chance.
Apart from feeling like he needed to be pinched, Brody listened as Yvonne admired how free the fish looked while they were swimming around like that. "Yeah, in a way," he agreed, though they weren't able to swim beyond the confines of the tank they were in. He wondered if the fish were actually aware of it, if they knew that there was a big, wide world beyond the pane of glass separating them from the people who watched them for a fee.
"I'll have to take you to Maine someday, Vonni," Brody continued, thinking about it. "You'd be amazed at all the wildlife up where we live, and not just the owls."

these choices and voices. YVONNE ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT LIFE would be if she simply...Wasn't a human. More like a fish or some kind of creature that roamed the world. It must of been an odd life, a short life even, but despite the De Snapper's curiosity she was glad she was...Alive? Despite what her life had been the past few years anyway.
As she admired the fish, Yvonne smiled small as Brody agreed with her, but truthfully both of them knew that any of the creatures inside the aquariums weren't really free anyway. Somewhat confined just so people could enjoy the minor entertainment they gave off from simply swimming around. "Maine?" She repeated, looking over at Brody. "I wouldn't mind the trip I suppose...If Lia allows it.."

June 25, 2025 Brody was pleasantly surprised to hear Yvonne ask about Maine. For most people, it probably wasn't the most exciting state in the entirety of the United States of America, but it was where he was from. Even Yvonne's saying that she wouldn't mind the trip meant a lot to him. Of course, whether or not her grandmother would let her go to Maine with him sometime was another story. More than likely, they would have to wait until they were both seventeen and able to do what they wanted. He had held on for over a year since Yvonne's parents had died. Two more years wouldn't be very long, would it?
"My parents would make sure nothing would happen to you," Brody promised Yvonne. "I know we can't do it this summer," he added—thanks to Hag's Fever's shutting them off from the rest of the world—"but you'd like it. There's, uh, fish and stuff up there, too." He shrugged his shoulders in an attempt to remain casual about it. Getting his hopes up too high probably wasn't very smart, but it wouldn't have been the first time that that had happened for him in relation to Yvonne.

these choices and voices. WHILE MAINE DIDN'T SOUND LIKE the typical 'perfect' trip for any tourist or traveller, Yvonne simply didn't mind the idea of going altogether. When her parents were still alive, Yvonne didn't have many opportunities to travel around with them, especially since both her mother and father were Aurors, meaning they were away from home at least ninety percent of the time. While the De Snaijer children were definitely privileged in a small sense, it wasn't fun trying to bond with an adult that wasn't your mother or father, and there were times Yvonne felt like she was annoying her older sibling, for the sake of attention anyway.
"I know." Yvonne replied, smiling small. Brody's parents were nice, caring, at least from the small amount of times she had spoke totem. "What kind of stuff?" She questioned, becoming rather curious of it all. Brody seemed confident that Yvonne would enjoy her time up there, but the De Snaijer felt a little sceptical. "Besides fish?" She added, slightly grinning.

June 25, 2025 "What kind of stuff?" Yvonne asked him then. "Besides fish?"
"Uh, lobsters?" Brody considered with a smile of his own, being that Maine was almost always associated with lobster and lobster rolls. "That's more on the coast, though," he admitted, unless she was looking for lobster to eat. "And there's moose and bears and stuff, but it's not like we see them every day." Beyond that, though, there was still plenty to see and do, Brody knew. "And there's blueberry season." Blueberries were also heavily associated with his home state, only not to put them on lobster rolls…
"Lots of outdoor activities, though," he said in summary, especially where his family was concerned. "We wouldn't have to do anything too out there," Brody assured Yvonne. He was trying to encourage her to visit rather than scare her off of it. "But the fresh air and everything is nice. It's more like Ilvermorny than here." The air quality in London wasn't the worst in the world, but it left something to be desired.
