Bryelle looked a little nervous at the thought of being in her last year of Hogwarts. Aura supposed she could understand why in a theoretical sense – choosing a career was a lot of pressure, and the way you performed in exams during school had the ability to affect your future for a long time. It was a lot to put on the shoulders of teenagers, especially when most students were preoccupied with other things. Emphasis on most, because Aura had known what she wanted to do for a long time, and exactly how to get there. At this point, it was just about following the plan – not putting one together like Bryelle now had to. Aura gave a crooked smile as Bryelle nudged her and asked about her scores. “What do you think? As if my dad would ever let me bring anything besides O’s home,” Aura responded sarcastically (even though every word was true), her mind instead lingering on the upcoming OWLs. She puffed her cheeks before exhaling slowly as she thought about the Ministry-regulated exams. “Big year for both of us. OWLs and NEWTs. Enough stress to make you want to...I dunno, do something insane,” Aura said sullenly as the familiar feeling of panic settled in her stomach. She pulled on Bryelle’s sleeve to wordlessly guide her down another corridor, away from the crowd of wizards headed to the Merlin exhibit. bryelle rose goyle

CHOOSING HER FUTURE DIDN'T SOUND as serious when she was saying it herself. Truthfully, it only sounded as important as it actually was once other people simply reminded her of that importance. Bryelle found herself sighing quietly, her hand lifting to rub at her neck anxiously. If Aurum wasn't around she would have probably picked away at some hairs or even her fingernails out of sheer nervousness. But with the focus back on the younger Ravenclaw, Brylle figured the best thing she could do for now was to simply relax. She laughed at the younger girl's response and nodded in understanding. "At least he somewhat cares." She retorted, knowing that if she had failed any of her classes, the only person who would demonstrate their disappointment would be Renard.
"You know...Since my parents are too dumb to realise what's right or wrong." She added quietly, listening to Aurum mentioning how they both had important exams coming up. "I'm sure you'll do perfectly fine in yours.." Bryelle murmured, letting the younger girl guide her throughout the museum. "As long as you stay on top with whatever study plan I know you've made."

Aura shot Bryelle a sympathetic look as the two girls continued to walk down the hallway. Aura had passed by this exhibit so many times that she didn’t even glance at the displays, instead fiddling with her sleeves as she considered the difference in Bryelle’s family situation. Aura’s father was emotionally distant, sometimes to the extreme. But he still took a very involved interest in his children’s lives, making sure they kept up top marks and informing anybody he could at social events about the twins’ academic progress. So Aura couldn’t imagine having parents that didn’t care at all and left their children to their own devices. “And too dumb to realize their children’s value,” Aura quipped back to Bryelle’s quiet comment. It was a many-layered statement – the usual amount of snarkiness, but still with an underlying motive of wanting to be supportive. And naturally, the ever-present concern for purebloods: how to best use their children to get ahead of the other families. Aura was still a touch too young for her father to be thinking of marriage, but she expected it to come up after her OWLs or NEWTs. She shot Bryelle a small half-smile as the Gryffindor assured her she’d do fine in her exams. “I can make a study plan for you too,” she offered. Aura had started to get more involved in tutoring lately, although mostly for younger students. “These sorts of things become more manageable when you do it with someone else.” bryelle rose goyle

BRYELLE HAD SOMETIMES WONDERED WHAT life would've been like if Renard didn't exist. Instead if she was just a simple only child who had to deal with her parents stupidity alone. In a way, Bryelle knew life would've been completely different to the one she had now, but instead she would completely and utterly stupid like her mother and father. So while she had her fights with Renard every now and then, she was glad he was an intellect, someone to put the younger Goyle in her place.
Bryelle found herself laughing quietly in agreement to Aurum's statement, gently nodding also. In truth, all her parents ever cared enough for was that their children continued on the line of Slytherins. Yet, with Renard housed into Ravenclaw and Bryelle in Gryffindor...That dream was far from ever coming true. Maybe with Renard's children - or Bryelle's own, if either ever planed on having children in the future. At Aurum's offer of making Bryelle's study plan, the Goyle smiled small. "I'd like that." She replied, smiling a little wider. It seemed weird, taking educational advice from someone younger than her, but Bryelle needed a change in her life. Maybe a plan would help. "I guess so...When I was younger I'd have Renard around but he's...Busy lately." Cozing up with Odina anyway.

Walking with Bryelle was starting to remind Aura how different fifth-year was going to be. She’d already received a prefect badge in the mail, which would entail additional responsibilities to watch out for the younger Ravenclaws and keep them in line. She wouldn’t have long to get used to the routine before the Quidditch season would start and their captain would fill up their schedules with practices and strategy sessions. And then naturally, it was OWL year which meant their professors would be cracking down on them extra hard to study and be prepared. It was the first time that her future felt so tangible, thinking about OWLs and future career prospects and balancing all her school responsibilities in the meantime. It could almost make her feel like she was drowning, so Aura forced herself to take a steady breath and look at Bryelle instead. The Gryffindor also looked to be deep in-thought, probably about her family since she brought up her brother right after. That was another family dynamic Aura didn’t understand. She and Silver were so close, they did practically everything together. She could never imagine her brother being too busy for her. Aura tilted her head curiously. “What’s Renard up to? Will he be at dinner tonight?” She wasn’t sure if she liked the older Goyle, since they’d never really had anything to do with each other. But Bryelle seemed fond of him. bryelle rose goyle
