Most people would think Vasilia was insane. Hell, when she told her parents her plan they'd called her plan exactly that. Why do something like this? It was a far fetched idea, with a clientele that was so specialized and selective only a select few would ever really enjoy it. The idea? Blood ice cream. Not just blood flavored. No, actual blood. Vasilia had been volunteering at the Vampire blood bank a few weeks ago, and someone mentioned how few blood products out there there were, and how sometimes they needed a fix while out and about, but they weren't able to go by the blood bank. Vasilia first proposed the idea to the blood bank, and they LOVED it. Blood ice cream? It could be a discrete way of getting the blood they needed, and something they could enjoy on the go. So, Vas worked out a deal. The blood bank supplied the blood, and also put up fliers for some test subjects. 

Vas was in the back kitchen, tying on her white apron. She glanced at the clock, and then a spare flier. The flier stated that the Ice Cream Parlour wanted to create an ice cream just for Vampires, but would need their selective taste buds to create the concoction. The time and date was also included, and that the event would be open door, meaning anyone that was a Vampire, or vampire descent, was welcome. 

Vas stepped away from the tables, and put her hands on her hips, proud of what she was about to do. She certainly didn't have the right taste buds to do this, nor did Felix. The only way this would succeed was if vampires, or part vampires, stopped by and did some tasting. Felix had even volunteered to do the magical mixing for her, since ice cream the non-magical way took some time, Felix would be able to speed up the process. 

"Felix, it's almost time," she called up the stairs so he'd know. The fliers had said the tasting session would be from 9pm to 3am, since vampires couldn't really handle the daylight. But Vas didn't mind. She was often up well past 3am working. It'd be just a regular night for her.

The bell above the door rang, and Vas started to grin. The first participant! She left the back kitchen and stepped out into the front of the shop. "Welcome! I'm Vas, Vasilia Fortescue. Are you here for the ice cream testing?"

Thursday was recognized at the blood bank. Not because she needed more blood than a normal half vampire, but because of her abnormal look. She was shorter than most her age, and she had soft pink hair. She had spotted the flier at the bank and even asked if she could take one with her. She wanted to go. I mean, free Ice Cream. She would be crazy to say no to that!

On the date specified on the flier, she had finished dinner with her siblings, not eating that much, and then worked more on programming her video game. When the time started to draw near, she headed out, having the family chauffeur take her to the Leaky Cauldron entrance of Diagon Alley. She made her way to the ice cream parlor, shortly after 9pm, and walked in. Hearing the door ring, her face went a little red. No one else was there, had she made a mistake? Was it the wrong time? Did she misread the flier?

Luckily, before she could back out, a red headed woman walked in from the back. "Welcome! I'm Vas, Vasilia Fortescue. Are you here for the ice cream testing?" "Um, yea. Hi, I'm Astrid. Well Thursday, but most people just call me Astrid." She stumbled over her words. Maybe she shouldn't have come.

At first, Felix had assumed that his sister was joking. Blood… ice cream? It seemed like a grotesque combination, and he found it difficult to believe that she was serious. Blood ice cream wouldn't be the hit of the summer… except, perhaps, with vampires… And that was precisely where Vasilia's thoughts were headed. Maybe it wasn't exactly a flavor that would appeal to the masses, but it wasn't supposed to be. It had a utility, and it was clever.

He was on board, and he had promised his sister that he would do what he could to ensure that the taste-testing session for the flavor would be successful. Naturally, they couldn't have just anyone trying it; it had to be vampires and part-vampires. They were the ones who stood to benefit from it, and Felix was happy to be of service. It was one of the stranger things that he had done, but it would make some people really happy, he hoped.

"Felix, it's almost time," Vas called. She had put him in charge of mixing the ice cream, since he could use magic to make it that much faster. It was getting close to nine o'clock at night, which certainly wasn't normal for him when he was usually working a cash register, but they had to match the availability of their clientele.

"Should be almost ready," he confirmed, bolting down the stairs to check on the batch of their latest creation. It almost looked like raspberry—while squinting, maybe. Still, he had no doubt that it would be every bit as appetizing as every other flavor that they sold.

The bell chimed from out in the parlor itself, and Felix could hear that Vas was greeting someone. He popped out from the back, after magically chilling the metal tub so that the ice cream in it would remain just the right consistency.

"It looks great, Vas," he smiled, genuinely proud of what they had accomplished with it. He thought that he recognized the girl who had entered, too, and he smiled at her to try to put her at ease. "…Ravenclaw, right?" he checked.

Rosie had never done something like this - hang out with other vampires. But she saw the flier and she couldn’t say that she wasn’t intrigued. Blood ice cream sounded like everything she wanted in the world. Even before she was a vampire her diet consisted mostly of ice cream, sweets, and pastries. None of that really had changed since her attack in the winter. And even though other vampires still kind of scared her, she knew that she needed to be around more people like her. She was one of them now, she had to adapt and learn to make friends. She had always been good at making friends - it was the Hufflepuff in her.

She walked into the parlor, a very familiar place for her, and saw that it was mostly empty, except for 2 people behind the counter, and one girl, who looked like a patron, someone younger than Rosie, though, and a girl she didn’t recognize. Likely an Ilvermorny transfer then. Rosie had tried to at least know of everyone she attended school with; again, it was the Hufflepuff in her. She recognized the boy behind the counter. He had been a year younger than her, in Ravenclaw, she thought. Though he may have been Gryffindor. Her memory wasn’t that good.

“Hi.” she smiled when she walked up to the counter. “Is the new flavor, tasting event happening today?” he asked, hoping that she didn’t count crazy. She didn’t know any of these people to be vampires and she didn’t want to be the lone one there for nothing. That would wreck her.

The fact it was summer didn’t mean much to Daniel. He didn’t have a job or plans to get one at the moment, he didn’t even have the slightest clue what he wanted to do. Well, besides just traveling around Europe for a bit. He claimed to himself he was doing the typical American backpacking around Europe after school. Yet really he just had no direction in life. His only aspiration in while had been to graduate with slightly decent grades. Daniel was barely able to manage that as he started studying far too late. He also disliked it with a passion. He wasn’t surprised he found himself wandering about just sight seeing. He did find himself enjoying it though for the most part.

His only communication with people had been owls back and forth to Zen and letters from his father oddly enough. He didn’t reply to his father though and he had no plans to. His letters were weird and insisted that he returned home for some important matter. It was weird to him that his father would even write him let alone ask him to return to his house. It was never Daniel’s home to begin with anyway. Zen explained there was some ice cream tasting event she wanted to go to and asked for him to come along. He’d never turn down free ice cream, if it was free and if it wasn’t he’d still be willing to pay and just hang out with Zen anyway.

Daniel made it back into Diagon Alley a little before the event was suppose to start. Having an apperation license did make life so much easier. From one part of Europe to another with only some mild nausea which would pass. As he found the ice cream shop Daniel didn’t see Zen but he had been early. Still he was excited to seen her once more, another reason he was early he supposed as he stood there waiting. He found a sign for the event, it seemed to be for trying some new blood related flavor of ice cream. Which explained why this was happening at night, all making sense now. Still he wasn’t super excited for the flavor but he could always get something else. The event started and a few, what he assumed vampires or half vampires, went in while he just leaned against the side of the ice cream shop, waiting for Zen to show up. He always assumed he would be the late one but here he was actually early and her running late. He wasn’t annoyed but did get a laugh out of it and it would be another thing to tease her on when she did show.

The first person to come in was a pink haired teenager. Vasilia didn't recognize her, but Vas didn't know everyone. Felix stepped out, mentioning that "it looked great", and then seemed to recognize the girl that had come in. Ah, Hogwarts student. That would explain why she didn't recognize her. While Vas had started to expand Fortescue's reach to Hogsmeade there were still many students that had never stopped by the little cart. The girl introduced herself as Astrid, then Thursday, then back to Astrid. Vasilia just smiled.

"It's nice to meet you, Astrid." Obviously the girl preferred the name, since she'd not only mentioned it first, but she'd mentioned it twice. The girl was there for the ice cream testing though, which also lifted Vas' spirits more. Because it meant the advertising had worked. She took a moment to take a slow breath, so she didn't get too excited, and put on her business professional smile. "I want to create something everyone can enjoy, but I don't have the taste buds for it. I appreciate you coming to help. Why don't you take a seat at the table?" She stepped out from behind the counter and motioned to a long table they'd set up. Usually the ice cream parlour had many small, round, tables on the parlour floor, but tonight Vasilia had opted for one long table that could fit at least a dozen people.

Then, another guest arrived. This one was much more familiar to Vasilia. Not necessarily a friend, but Vas grew up in the show so she recognized regulars from over the years. Vas gave her a smile. "Yup! You're right on time. We have a couple variations to try tonight. If you want to take a seat we'll get started in just a few minutes."

Thursday nervously walked in. She was the first one there. She should have been later. But luckily there was someone there when she entered. and a younger man walked out shortly after that. He walked out and he seemed familiar and he mentioned the house that she was in. Feeling a little better she nodded "Yea, that's right" She hadn't made an idiot of her self! Then it hit her. She hadn't spent too much time with other vampires or part vampires before. This was defiantly going to be interesting.

Thursday was defiantly nervous, but the woman behind the counter seemed to be friendly enough, and gave her a friendly greeting. Thursday smiled, feeling better by the minute. She took a seat like the woman had asked "Thanks. I'm happy to help" She was overly excited really. She was going to get ice cream, and she was sure that it would be more than just one try, and ice cream was always good.

It didn't take long for another woman to enter the parlor, this time through the same entrance that Thursday herself had used. she gave a greeting, and Thursday silently waived at her with a smile.

LATE. THAT’S ALL ZENEVIEVA COULD think about. How incredibly late she was. Usually— Well, in this case with Daniel — Zenevieva turned up first, maybe a few minutes early, maybe even an hour early. But today? She knew Daniel would get the upper hand against her and most definitely tease her. Regardless, Zen continued to rush, blaming her stupid alarm clock for not buzzing loud enough for the half-vampire to hear, as well as herself. Considering the Ravenclaw stayed up until four or five, practicing on ridding her stutter alongside her tired aunt. Bless her heart.

Though, it was nice to see a fresh face aside from her books, her aunt or even Steve - one of her only half-vampire friends that was willing to spend a lot of time with the book-worm. So with the introduction of a ice-cream tasting test, mostly suited to vampires…The Novell was more than excited. Regular ice-cream didn’t sit with her too well, so to have a blood flavour was a better choice, despite sounding completely and utterly gross. Convincing Daniel had been easy enough, especially because she really wanted to see him.

Heading down the street that had the Ice Cream parlour, Zen’s small smile made its way into a larger one once she saw Daniel. She started waving from afar until the distance between them wasn’t much at all. ”Hey.” She breathed out, smiling up at him. She hated how tall he was in comparison to her, but it didn’t make him intimidating at all. ”You…Didn’t wait l-long did you?” Zen was almost proud of herself, almost speaking completely without her stutter but alas. There it was.

Vasilia waited a moment as the pair took their seats. She didn't want to start too early, but she also knew some late arrivals would be likely. At least.. .she hoped. Heaven forbid the turn out was only two people! It really made her question her idea... But... Okay, stop thinking about the possibility. Vas just put on a smile and stepped out from behind the counter, approaching the table.

"Well, no reason to wait for late arrivals, they'll just catch up when they arrive. First, I really appreciate you both coming. Here at the parlour we want to cater to all audiences, so your input is really important. I want you to be completely honest on your thoughts." Vas glanced over her shoulder to Felix. "Do you want to bring out the first container?" She turned back to the pair. "This first one we tried to create something very subtle. Like italian gelato."

Felix understood why the taste-testers seemed so nervous to be there. What reason did they have to trust him and Vas? He recognized both of them, funnily enough; the younger girl, Astrid, confirmed that she was a Ravenclaw, and the older girl… Hadn't she been a Hogwarts student in the year above his? She was a regular in the parlor, anyway.

So far, it seemed as though they might only get two taste-testers for their blood ice cream, but two was better than none. Maybe, as it got later, more people would show up? He could hope, and Vas appeared to take it in stride.

"Well," she said, moving over to the table and smiling, "no reason to wait for late arrivals, they'll just catch up when they arrive." She gave a little speech to the two vampires who had answered the call, and then she looked back over at him.

"Do you want to bring out the first container?"

"Got it," Felix confirmed, getting the first of the versions that they were testing out that night, the one that had been closer to a gelato. He levitated that batch out slowly and ceremoniously to the table, where he set it down before he physically carried out a stack of bowls and an ice cream scoop.

As soon as he had set those down, he got the most important thing (besides the blood ice cream). "Accio spoons," he grinned, catching the utensils in his hand.

It wasn't long from when Thursday sat down for the woman who first greeted her to get started. She nervously smiled as she began to speak. Thursday wasn't good at confrontation. But she wanted to do her best to help out and make the best blood ice cream. If this really did take off, she could see herself coming here whenever she was in the area.

The woman said that their first try was similar to gelato, which Thursday wasn't as familiar with, though she knew that it wasn't as creamy as the soft serve stuff that she would normally get at home. But she was up for trying new things, and she was determined not to let her overpowering desire for everything to be extra sweet ruin things. She knew that she had a bigger sweet tooth than most. But vampires were naturally drawn to sweets, so maybe these were her kind of people?

She watched the container float out by the use of magic. Just one more year and she would be able to do that, much like her three oldest siblings. She felt like it was more fine when none of them could do it, but now that some could use magic freely, she did feel a little jealous. She still had to climb on the counter if she wanted to reach the top shelf. Not that she didn't like doing that, but sometimes she really wished she could sue some magic.

Thursday looked at the container that held the ice cream as the boy that recognized her came out with some bowls. Just the though of blood ice cream made her lick her lips as she anticipated the first batch.

Cecelia was late. She knew she was going to be, since she had talked herself into and out of going to the event a hundred times apiece, but she could hear her mother's disapproving voice in her head even as she rusehd not to be horribly behind schedule. Being anything less than punctual did not befit a lady. Her mother would be horrified to learn Cecelia wasn't a lady anymore, in any sense of the word - which was exactly why she was never going to find out. Cece took a deep breath before stepping through the door to the ice cream parlor; she didn't want to look frazzled, even if she was a little.

The moment she stepped through the doors, she was searching for a familiar face. She had met a few people at the blood bank, but none whom she was particularly close with. Her own fault, given her aversion to creating friends with other vampires since what had happened in the Parisian coven. When she did scan the small assembled group, though, she did find one person she was at least comfortable making small talk with. "Hello, Rosie," she whispered as she amde her way to stand by the other woman, trying desperately not to call any attention to herself.

The one girl—the younger of the two in the parlor—seemed eager for the first flavor that he had just brought out, and Felix was happy to see it. The whole thing was definitely different for him, but getting joy from people's reactions to ice cream certainly wasn't new. As excited as she seemed, though, it wasn't long before someone else came through the door of the ice cream parlor. Vas had been right to assume that people might show up a little bit later than they had planned, but Felix blinked a little when he saw who had entered.

It was getting a little too… uncanny. He was certain that that was either Cecelia Rousseau or her twin sister, neither of whom he had seen for at least a year.

"Hey," he greeted her, trying not to be too awkward about the whole "vampire" thing. Obviously, it was a major change, but it didn't affect how he viewed the older girls. Anyone who had known him by his dead name when he was much younger would have been surprised to find out that he wasn't a girl himself, Felix knew. It wasn't exactly the same situation—and his changes had come without fangs—but he understood how hypocritical of him it would have been to be weirded out by it.

"Feel free to make yourselves comfortable," he noted to the girls, setting the spoons at their places at the table that Vas had set up. It wasn't such a formal occasion; aside from assisting them in their development of a new flavor, it was meant to be enjoyable and not so stuffy. He and Vas weren't the ones who would be getting the most from blood ice cream, after all. "We want this to be fun for all of you." The taste-testers could converse amongst themselves. Felix smiled, hoping to break the ice a little more as he directed his attention to the girl who must have been one of the Rousseaus. "This first flavor's a bit closer to a gelato," he explained to her, since she had missed Vas's explanation only moments before. "We tried to do something a bit more, er, subtle with it." And, hopefully, they would like it.

A few others entered, people she vaguely recognized but still no one that she knew well enough. Rosie was good at making friends though and usually could carry a conversation with just about anyone. Despite how awkward she was, she was a small talk master. They started to bring out the samples as other people continued to filter in and Rosie hadn’t taken a seat yet even though it seemed to be the thing to do. She still felt a little out of place being here and was considering just leaving and going back to hang out with Albus, but then someone else entered, a familiar face, who a little surprisingly, made her way to stand with Rosie. “Hey it’s good to see you. I’m glad you came to this.” she admitted quietly. Rosie wouldn’t say that they had been friends, but since they both found themselves in this similar, new situation, she was glad to have someone to resonate with. She took a seat when the Fortescue boy came and told them to make themselves comfortable and then explained the ice cream again.

There Daniel stood waiting for Zen to show up as other people glanced at him before walking into the ice cream parlor. He could have waited inside but he wasn’t exactly excited for the flavor of ice cream. Blood wasn’t much of a flavor he cared for. Sure he had tasted it before but it wasn’t on the same level as vampires or half vampires. It was just the occasional taste when he hurt himself in someway. Busted lip, bit his cheek, stuff like that. He didn’t actively go out seeking the taste like vampires needed too. Besides, he was content waiting outside for Zen to show up. He hadn’t seen her since school let out so it was nice to see her again and for something she suggested they do together.

Eventually he saw the still blonde Zen waving to him as she got closer to the ice cream parlor. She said hey as she got close enough then asked if he had been waiting long for her. It hadn’t been that long but he was prepared to tease for a moment about the way. Yet, he decided not too. He was fine with playful teasing when it came to Zen and he we had thought of a few things to say in his wait. Knowing Zen though she might actually feel bad about the wait and not take it at just a joke. “No, honestly I only got here a few minutes ago. I did see a few other people go in already so we better hurry.” Daniel explained with a small laugh and smiled as he made his way toward the door. “I don’t want to be the alternative option if they run out of blood flavored ice cream.” Daniel joked for a moment as he reached the door and held it open for Zen. "I mean I'm willing to share but it'll cost you more then the ice cream would."
