Clyde was massive. He was reminded of that every day since he was born. Every foster home that refused him, every schoolmate that stared at him with wide eyes full of fear. He didn't even know what he was until a time when he was four years old. He was twice the height of his peers at the day care. He was clumsy too, as many part giants are as youths while they try to navigate themselves. He was running on the playground when 'bam!', he ran into a teachers leg. But instead of falling over like most toddlers would, he knocked her down. She let out a cry of pain and fell backward, falling on her backside. She looked up at him, eyes wide, and then down at her leg where a bruise was already forming. Clydes eyes widened and he began to shake his head, trying to stammer out an apology. "Alright, Clyde. It's time to sit inside," she said firmly, standing with difficulty to take his hand. He let her lead him into the classroom, sit him in a chair, as she furrowed her eyebrows together. The two of them talked, she didn't seem angry - thankfully. She told him she had suspected something of him for the last two weeks, and that his strength proved it. She turned to the desk beside him. "Can you lift that?" she asked. He turned to it, eyes widening, back to her, back to the desk... then he got up and picked it up with both hands. He started to laugh, lifting it high above his head. His teacher smiled, "Clyde. I think you may be part giant!" she exclaimed. And he dropped the desk right on her toe.
