The party had already been going on for sometime and Friday had considered it a rather big success. Everyone seemed to be having fun in their own way. Friday was even surprised at just how many of his siblings got involved with the party. Especially since they had protested the idea just a few weeks ago. He didn’t need to spend half the party avoiding the angry members of his family. It helped he locked their rooms to keep strangers out. If they chose to unlock them was up to his siblings. Even though the party had become a success he didn’t plan on making this a habit. He enjoyed just going to parties rather than having to plan them and set everything up. He also felt some responsibility that everyone was having a good time or at least an attempt at making sure of that. He didn’t enjoy the host roll as much as others might. It was a little too much work and didn’t allow him to cut loose.
The first floor was where the party mostly was. Some people had made their way to the second floor. The floor with all the siblings rooms. Yet they were mostly just wandering around, probably being nosy and trying to check out the weekly penthouse. Nothing wrong with that and if the roles were reverse, Friday would probably be being nosy in their homes at their party. Friday had only planned to peak into his room. Make sure his room was safe, he trusted the locks on the rooms but this was his stuff after all. He wanted to be sure. As he did he noticed the door to the balcony was open at the end of the hall. If someone wanted to be out there, that was fine but Friday was curious. Getting closer he noticed a girl leaning over the railing looking down. Now Friday was even more curious, he made his way out onto the balcony and leaned over the railing just like she was and looked down as well. Still, she was leaning further than he had dared so far. The railing was strong though. It was made to hold a number of people leaning on it. Or maybe just his quarter giant brother. “Whatcha lookin at? Something interesting?” Friday asked as he scanned the ground below, not seeing much of anything really.

A party. Pretty lights. Bright music, burning sound. Dazzling smells. Smiles and faces and hands and feet and dancing and happy and crazy and jealous. She wasn't sure if she should come but Simon didn't have to know, right? Unless he was here too... somewhere. This is why Summer out-skirted along the edges of the party. Simon, Simon, Simon. Are you here? Ooh stairs! Up, up, up, up. Long hall, many doors, essences of different people laced throughout the walls. She turned her head, spotted the balcony and squealed with glee. Soon she was at the edge of the railing, teetering over to look down onto the ground below. There was a dog out there. Pet or stray? Someone behind her. The voice, warm and funny. She leaned over even more, using her strong arm muscles to support her as she lifted her feet, teetering forward in a plank position. She smiled, turning to look at him, her hair toppling over the side of her face. "Dog!"@friday

The girl leaned over even more as he spoke and for a moment he was worried, yet she seemed to have a handle on just how much she was leaning off the rail. Friday didn’t have that much confidence in his grip or balance. She finally looked over to him and he looked back, her hair now a little in her face. It was cute but when she said she was looking at a dog his focus was now back to the ground below them. “Oh! Where? Where?” Friday said excitedly as he looked around. Another scan of the ground below and he saw it. “I found it. Aw, I’m sure it’s cute. Hard to tell from here.” He really couldn’t make out much besides the fur color and that it was a dog. “Want to run down and go pet it?” Friday asked looking back toward the mystery girl once more. Not even worried if the dog might be mean somehow. It didn’t even cross his mind.

He seemed just as excited as she was about the dog which made her entirely giddy. She kicked her legs a little, still using her incredibly strong arm muscles to hold herself at almost a plank. She lowered her feet back to the ground when he said he found the dog, calling it cute. She nodded, giving a small bark under her breath. He asked if she wanted to run down and pet it. She squeaked with excitement and nodded excessively. "Yes! Yes!" she normally wasn't one for touching people, especially since she didn't know when her seer abilities would do their thing, but she took his hand and started to pull him toward the exit. She had already clocked where all the exits were. If she didn't have this boy in tow, she probably would have just scaled the side of the building to get to the dog, but this was much more practical. @friday

Friday wasn’t one to worry, of all the people in his family he was the one most fine with dangers and adventure. At least in his own head he thought he was. His siblings might have disagreed but that was their opinion and he felt right in his. Yet as the girl kicked her feet while leaning over the edge he got a little nervous for her. She was already further than he would have dared and she was wiggling now as well. Sure, it was cute in a way but he was also worried. She did back down as he spoke about finding the dog. As he asked if she wanted to rush down and pet it she made an excited squeal before saying yes. The girl grabbed his hand and before he knew it and they were off back into the house. She knew the house better than he expected as she knew when each turn exactly was before he could even offer a suggestion. They got down to the first floor after weaving through a couple of people. “Oh! Hold on.” Friday said in the middle of the party going on, on the first floor. “I’ll be right back!” He explained still excited to go see the random dog. Freeing his hand he ran quickly into the kitchen coming back with some lunch meat from the fridge. “I’m sure it’s hungry. Let’s go.” Friday explained his disappearance as he resumed holding the girls hand and rushing towards the door.

He told her to hold on and she slowed just enough for her to talk to someone. But then he freed his hand, "boy!!!" she shouted after him, and soon he was back with meat in his hand. "Smart!!!" she said excitedly. He took her hand back and she squeezed his and let him lead the way the rest of the way out. "Hungry. Stray dog wouldn't come to big, loud house otherwise," she explained with calculation. Once they were outside she moved to walk beside him, still holding onto his hand as they turned around the corner of the house to where they had seen the dog. "Shhh," she reached all the way across with her free hand to halfway cover his mouth. "Don't scare. Caution."@friday

The girl slowed down when Friday said to hold on but she never really stopped. Still he was already on his way to the kitchen when he heard her say something. He would be back in just a moment so he didn’t turn to figure out what it was. As long as she was there when he got back which she was. She called him smart for grabbing the lunchmeat. Explaining why it was smart as he led the way out of the house. “Honestly I just figured they’d be hungry but I’ll take the compliment.” Friday said laughing a little as they got outside the house. They turned the corner to look to where they last saw the dog. She shushed him for a moment and he almost laughed at that before she even covered his mouth with her hand. Explaining not to scare the dog. He nodded, removing her hand from his face, “Okay. Let’s just get a little closer.” He whispered while taking a few steps closer to the dog who was more focused on some trash it has found than the two of them. Once a few feet closer but not enough to scare the animal Friday kneeled down and held out the lunch meat. A way to allow the animal to come to them instead of scaring it way by getting any closer. “Here boy, or girl. We have snacks for you.” Friday tried to speak and a calm reassuring voice as to not scare the dog away.

He said her calling him 'smart' was a compliment. "Fact," she corrected. She just said what she knew to be true. He had done a smart thing, that was that. Once they reached near the dog and she covered his mouth, he took her hand off and whispered that they should get a little closer. She nodded, stepping closer along with him. She held his hand tightly, giddily grinning at the dog up ahead. When he knelt down she followed suit, but let go of his hand so it would be easier for him to coax the dog forward. His voice was comforting and Summer smiled at him briefly before turning back to the dog. She bent down, low to the ground, and barked. "Ruff! Ruff!" just tiny little barks, inching forward. The dogs ears perked up and it's tail slowly started to wag. Summer got even lower to the ground, until she was army crawling toward the creature. It seemed to think that was pretty funny and finally took a leap toward her, pawing the top of her head. She laughed, flattening her face into the grass. @friday

She said fact and he assumed she just meant it wasn’t just a compliment calling him smart but fact. He would take it even if he hadn’t gotten the food as a means to tempt the dog to come to them. It was more because he was sure any stray animal would probably be hungry living in the streets. Once near the dog Friday tried to coax the dog over and he hadn’t had much luck getting the dogs attention. The girl had more luck as she made some small dog barking noises. The girl who was now kneeling like him got even closer to the ground. She was pretty much crawling toward the dog and it may have seemed silly in a way but it was working. The dog seemed to get excited as if it wanted to play. It tapped the top of the girls head and he laughed about the same time she had. Friday got closer slowly while the two seemed to play a little. Offering the lunch meat he had brought out for the dog. “Well now I don’t know which one to pet first.” Friday said almost teasingly toward the girl, he didn’t know her at all but took the chance she would know he was just kidding. The dog began to eat from his hand. It seemed the dog was used to people which was good. “Now I wish I brought more food.”

When the dog moved away from her to grab the lunch meet, Summer looked back up at the boy, her smile threatening to split her face. "Ruff," she said one more time then legitimately nuzzled her head against his knee before moving to sit up next to him, kneeling on both knees. He said he wished he brought more food and she nodded. "More! Or," she snickered, nudging him with her shoulder, "sneak her inside. Your room?" she suggested. It was then that the realization hit her that she didn't know this boys name, or really anything about him. She had a slight moment of panic. She was out here, in the dark, with a stranger, no one knew where she had gone... but she looked straight into his eyes and smiled. "Summer."@friday

While the dog ate the food Friday had brought the girl looked up to him and smiled. He smiled back as she barked once more, this time nuzzling her head against his kneel. He just laughed a little. As silly as it was it was still cute too. He patted her head while laughing a little still. “Fine looks like you win first pets as this one is still eating.” Friday explained running his hand through her hair for a moment, it was definitely softer than most dogs hair would ever be. She was a girl after all just pretending to be a dog so the stray would like them. He might have scared the dog away but this girl was able to win it over easily. She got up and kneeled next to him while agreeing that he should have brought more food. Then laughed and nudged his shoulder suggesting he take the dog back to his room. He did always want to have a dog and plenty of his siblings had their own pets so why not him. At the very least he could just house the dog till he found it a real home. “Sure, I love it! I doubt anyone would notice anyway there was so many people in the house.” Friday explained as the girl now looked right at him and said, Summer. If he had to take a guess he assumed she was offering her name. There wasn’t much other reason she would say that. “Oh, I’m Friday. It’s nice to meet you Summer.” With that Friday stood up slowly as to not scare the dog who didn’t really seem to mind. It was used to people enough and they fed it so it probably liked them well enough now. “So shall be begin operation sneak her in?”

He patted her head before she sat up. Funny. He said that she was first pets and that made her giggle. She didn't meet a lot of teenagers who were interested in her particular brand of goofing off. She was even more surprised when he said that he would keep the dog and that people wouldn't even notice anyway because of the crowd. She squealed and grabbed his arm, shaking it a little in excitement. Then he offered a word, "Friday," she repeated. Her face softened and her grip on his arm softened a little. "Friday's in the summer," she whispered, "we're all the best things, people chase us in their dreams." Then she very abruptly let go, moving to stand up along with him, leaning her hand down to scratch the top of the dogs head. "Si, senor!" she exclaimed. "She will follow," Summer announced, sure that the dog would stay with them. She just knew. @friday

Summer repeated his name before saying that Friday’s were in the summer. Technically friday was in every season but he wasn’t about to correct her for that. She then whispered something and he smiled, “is that from something or did you just come up with that? I like it.” He asked curious as she had a point or wherever she got it from did. People did tend to look forward to Friday’s and the summer. Summer stood up when he did exclaiming she was ready to try and get the dog in the house in a way. Explaining that the dog will follow. “Good, there’s a lot of people around but once we get up the stairs it isn’t so bad. Just having to make it through the living room really.” Friday explained as he walked back a bit and the dog was indeed following which was a good sign. He would need a keep an eye on her but he had Summers help for that too. “You make sure to follow me too.” Friday said with a smile, figuring she was already going to do that anyway. Friday started making his way back to the house seeing a few people outside already.

He asked if her words were from something or if she just came up with it and she tilted her head to the side, "from mind," she answered, as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. "I like it," she agreed. She nodded then at his plan to go through the house and how they just had to make it through the living room. She walked with him and the dog did follow. Summer reached her hand back to gently taps it's head when she felt it needed reassurance. She nodded at his words, "lead," she pointed out. They were getting closer to the door and the few people outside basically ignored them. They turned the corner and there was a couple making out just outside the door way, saying wishful goodbyes or maybe hellos, she wasn't sure. She grimaced, pressing closer to Friday as they got closer. "Ready," she whispered. The living room. @friday

Summer explained that it came from her, or more exactly her mind which was one way to put it. “You must be some type of poet or something.” Friday said with a smile, patting the dog for a moment. Summer also agreed that she liked it too. “I would hope so, you came up with it.” As they walked toward the house and the front door, everyone was pretty distracted with what they were doing. Some people talking and one couple kissing pretty intensely. While he figured it would happen during any party, including his own. He at least thought they would do that inside, not in the door way. He felt Summer get closer as they neared the doorway. He took the time to glance back at her and the dog as she whispered she was ready. “It shouldn’t be too bad.” He whispered back. As he walked closer to the door once more. “Come on guys, in or out, I need to get my dog back inside from her walk.” Friday tried to get the couple to move with the easiest excuse he could think of. They gave an annoyed scoff as they broke off their kissing to move out of the way just enough. “Thanks.” His gratitude was short and not exactly meant. He would have been more thankful if they hadn’t been so annoyed when they were the ones in the way. “Come on, this way.” Friday said taking Summer's hand once more leading the way past the couple and into the living room. Making sure the dog was still in tow.
