:: MAY 2025 :: Hogwarts Courtyard ::Lulu had her hands full. Both literally and figuratively today. The purple haired snakes arms clutched her books to her chest as her broom dangled at her shoulder. Lulu was finished with quidditch practice and was on her way to the library to get some work done after cleaning up. Lulu just couldn't get a good grip of her books today, blaming it on sweaty hands. Gross.
Then, it happened.
The 'Monster Book of Monsters', which was tucked in her arms, slipped out of her grip, hitting the floor with an open spine. For an athlete, she should have moved quicker, but she stared stupidly in horror for a good moment, knowing how feisty her own book was. "Ohh-no. Uhh. Sorr-" she started to apologize to the inanimate object, when suddenly a low growl erupted from it pages. Shaking her head, Lulus eyes widened and arms flailed uncontrollably as she watched the Monster Book of Monsters suddenly barrel down the hallway, growling and chomping viciously at anything it its path, sending scraps of paper in every direction. A couple of inaudible sounds came out of her mouth as she watched in horror as the book flew across the floor at an ungodly speed. Everything was happening so fast, Lulu couldn't help but freeze as she watched the book make its way across the courtyard...towards a familiar face. Fuck. Lulu couldn't formulate a sentence in time as she watched the 'Monster Book of Monsters' beeline toward her unsuspecting Ravenclaw friend, Silver. Unsure if he noticed yet, she came running after the book, feet pounding the cement, "Watch out!!!" she screeched dramatically, watching as the ferocious book went straight for his trouser leg.

Argentum had been aiming for a quiet afternoon. Not happening it seemed. He was just attempting to read up on his Arithmancy homework when somebody started making a mess. He just wanted to spend some time in quiet contemplation. He heard the yelling just on time to raise his feet and managed to save his book. He could feel the slight breeze as the monster book of monsters nearly managed to bite his foot off. His face went from neutral to very strongly annoyed in a second and with one simple flick of his wand he managed to immobilise the book and pick it up, stroking the spine a little bit aggressively as he shot daggers towards his friend. He dared to put his book down on the bench and walked over towards Lulu. He liked Lulu, but she could be irresponsible in his eyes and above all, very chatty. Well, maybe just to him but that hardly mattered in that particular moment. He gave her a stare. "One. Bookbag. Second, Spine." He said calmly, although he could barely manage to the undertone of annoyance in his voice. He offered her book back towards her and then took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I'm a little bit stressed over Arithmancy currently. I'm not yet done with my coursework and I'm supposed to also finish divination and ancient runes today. Thank the Gods that I finished care of magical creatures, potions and transfiguration yesterday. I don't even want to imagine what my weekend would have looked like otherwise." He mused. He was in over his head, he supposed but he kind of liked it that way. It saved him from most of the teen drama as he could easily opt out by simply stating he lacked the time due to an overload of course material he had yet to finish. He gave Lulu a slightly concerned look. "Do you need a hand in carrying your books? It looks like you took a few too many with you." He then offered kindly, trying to leave behind the less gentle side of him that really still wanted to be scolding her for dropping her books. Such a thing was futile, as the books were hardly fragile enough to be destroyed by a single fall. Especially if the book was the monster book of monsters. lulu anne blishwick

:: MAY 2025 :: Hogwarts Courtyard ::Lulu watched in horror as the book ferociously chomped its way across the courtyard. Just within the knick of time, Silver was able to immobilize the book and stoke its spine. The look that he gave her was one of daggers, it was actually kind of scary he was capable of doing that. The purple haired snakes eyes widened to the size of saucers and she smiled nervously, making a funny face at him as am attempt to lighten the situation. "Crikey!" he exclaimed, mouth gaping wide open as he walked over with her book. "Silver! Ohh, Merlin's pants, I am so sorry!! I've got a pair of serious butter fingers." she admitted to him with another guilty smile.
Her friend explained that he was really stressed about upcoming coursework and she offered him a sympathetic smile. She allowed him to hold the books for her, never too shy to accept a little help when she needed, especially when offered. "Thanks for the help, Silv. Hey, I'm on my way to the library right now...would you like to come with and you can work on your work there?" she asked. "I promise to try not to distract you too much." she told him with a chuckle, knowing she'd probably be eating those words later.

The face she pulled was almost enough to snap him out of his irritation instantly. Almost. Then again, he'd almost gotten his feet chewed off by an angry book and that left a bit of an impression on a book nerd like himself. Not that he was the type that managed to stay mad at people for long. His sister had reminded him angry wasn't a look that suited him more than plenty of times. So his face softened fast enough as Lulu apologised and he handed the book back to her with a look and a sigh. "It's fine Lulu! Just try and be careful?" He said kindly, showing some obvious concern. He didn't want her to get hurt but if she was as prone to accidents as she currently seemed it was possible such things could not be avoided. He didn't really like that idea. Lulu could get on his nerves but she was nice and he didn't want to see her get hurt. He gave her a suspicious and sceptical look when she said she wouldn't distract him as she invited him to the library. "Somehow I doubt that." He said honestly but it didn't stop him from packing up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder to join her for studying at the library. He looked sideways at Lulu as he started out towards the library. "Which subject are you currently working on?" He asked curiously. He considered it very much possible it was care for magical creatures since that book had attempted to attack him but she carried far too many books for that to be the only option. If only he had more time, he wanted to study everything. Maybe she could teach him something along the way that he didn't have the time to take classes for. It certainly was an appealing idea. lulu anne blishwick

:: MAY 2025 :: Hogwarts Courtyard ::Silver was sweet sometimes. He told her that it was okay in a kind tone and she smiled widely, happy that she wasn't going to get yelled at for her stupid mistakes. Honestly, she had a penchant for carelessness that led to negligence. Sometimes she just didn't use her head but her heart was in the right place. "I'll be careful, promise." she bobbed her head up and down animatedly as he handed the book back to her. A small, vicious growl, erupted within its pages as she offered it a limp pet to its spine, every fiber within her body regretting taking the class. She loved animals, the books hated her.
As Silver started to pack his back, subconsciously agreeing to trek to the library with her, the purple-haired snakes face brightened. He asked what she was working on and she raised the growling book 'Lion King' style, "Care of Magical creatures...and History of Magic.." she pretended to retch with a full-body display. Sometimes she was too much. But History of Magic sucked. Within a couple of seconds she pulled herself out of it. "What're you workin' on, mate?" she asked him conversationally, truly curious because he was working on something before the book attacked him.

Lulu was a lot of person to take in. For somebody that was used to mostly peace and quiet (except when his sister was around) such a thing was beyond wild and well, not anywhere near his comfort zone. That being said, he liked her company and truly did enjoy spending time with her. She was sweet, even if she was highly erratic and that had a risk of totally stressing him out. He mostly kept quiet as always as he packed his bag and helped her out with her things. He had been raised with manners, even if his social skills were lacking rather dramatically. But he did smile slightly as she retched dramatically at the mention of history of magic. He chuckled and shook his head. "It's actually quite an interesting subject. The main problem is the teacher. The Arthurian times are pretty okay in terms of mythology, although I personally favour the Norse history, which might be partially due to my interest in ancient runes. Not to mention some of the interaction between the muggle mythos and the actual historic events. It can teach us a lot about how to interact with muggles in ways that might help keep the peace. Besides, I have ambitions to attempt to do some research on the philosophers stone, which would include quite a bit of historical digging." He said, instantly rambling on. Then she asked what he was working on and he smiled slightly. "Well I was working on arithmancy but I might delay that in favour of either divination or ancient runes, although I admit that I'm pretty far ahead in ancient runes currently so I can probably manage to finish that within half an hour anyway. It's just a bit more time than I have. I think I just have to limit my sleep to like three hours tonight." He sighed almost regretfully as he headed for the library. He needed vacation, that much was certain. Yet even then he'd most likely need all his spare time in order to catch up on homework and get ahead of the topics for the time after the vacation. Aurum had been a lot smarter in not spreading her time too thin. lulu anne blishwick
