teddy stirred when the light from a break in the curtains hit his eyes and he brought a hand to his face, groaning into it as he came fully back into the world of awake. it was morning? when had it become morning. he wasn't in his own house. that much was obvious. he was laying on an awkward angle on a couch, his head mashed uncomfortably against a cushion and one of his feet was hanging over the other end. he used an elbow to push himself up so he was sitting, rubbing his neck as it ached. he wondered what time it was, he couldn't hear anyone moving around the house or talking so it was probably still early. it had been years since he'd woken up at the potter house, the last time he'd slept in a bed up in al's room but he hadn't done it since he was a teenager. it all seemed so long ago now. he stood up, dropping the rug he'd either pulled over himself during the night or someone had flung over him the night before, onto the couch as he stretched and walked through to the all too familiar kitchen to see about sniffing out a cup of coffee.

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes Hermione was dead. Her death still filled her being with a numbness. It had affected her, but she knew that Harry himself had been hurt worst. She had been his best friend since the first moment they met during their first year - the Golden Trio. Ginny had grown close to her after she started Hogwarts, and their friendship grew and grew over the years. If there was anyone that she could have named her best friend, it would have been Hermione. She was there when she lost her memories, again when she lost Harry...she was the shoulder to cry on during hard times. And now that shoulder was gone. She felt for her niece and nephew, and even though Ron and Hermione had divorced not long ago, she felt for her brother. Since that death, Teddy had been staying over - a lot. It was like when he was younger all over again; he was like another son to her. And she could tell the death affected him as well; he was part of the family after all. She had trouble sleeping all night, tossing and turning. Eventually, she had given up on sleeping and headed downstairs to make something to drink. It was in her walk downstairs that she had found Teddy sleeping on the couch, his body uncovered. With a soft smile, she brushed a few tears from her cheeks and headed over, covering him up before she headed towards the kitchen. She made tea, grabbed a photo album that she had from her own wedding, and started flipping through it. Moving pictures of herself, of Harry in his dashing outfit. Her entire family and there were a few pictures of Hermione within. At one point, she stopped at a picture, running her fingers over the smiling face of Hermione and a younger version of herself, a tear-filed smile appearing on her face. She didn't know how long she had sat there, but by the time someone sturred, her tea had gone cold. Eventually, Teddy appeared in the doorway of her kitchen, and she smiled, "Morning," she breathed out, her voice hoarse. She wasn't exactly sure what time it was or if it was even morning yet. it was in the kitchen that he saw ginny, sitting at the kitchen table, bent over a book and a cup of something that was no longer steaming so he was sure she'd been sitting there for a while. he brushed his fingers over his eyes and then pushed his hand through his hair, trying in almost vain to neaten it, after all sleeping on a couch was bound to make anyone look dishevelled. he crossed the room as she spoke and he smiled slightly though there was hardly any joy behind it. the grief was still too raw. he leaned down to press a kiss to her head and he dropped an arm around her shoulder in something of a hug as he looked down at the photo's in the album. it was of harry and ginny's wedding.
he looked at the picture and touched the page it was on, seeing ths smiling faces of hermione and ginny looking back at him. "this was just before i spilled cake all over her dress." he said with a hoarse laugh. he barely remembered the moment but he'd been told about it so often that it was almost like a memory. he straightened and reached for the cup of tea that ginny hadn't drunk and he took it to the sink, tipped the liquid down and started to make two fresh cups, tea for her and coffee for him. "anyone else up?" he asked her, glancing back into the space that felt too dark and too quiet for the potter house.

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes So much was happening in the world right now that Ginny didn't know what to make of it all. First, she lost Harry, and the moment she was told to lose hope - she almost did. Losing him had been hard, especially because he was so idiotic just to run away and leave her in the dark. Hadn't she taught him that they were in this together? It had been something she got through his mind when they were only dating, back during the time of Voldemort. And now a new threat was out there, and he had pushed her to the curb. Sure, she had lost her memory, but she could still fight. She didn't exactly remember anything post-Battle of Hogwarts, so why would that change her fire? But now, she had lost her best friend. And there was no hope of her somehow being alive. This wasn't like Harry's disappearance, this was an explosion that had claimed the older woman's life. It was another tragedy that made her want to forget about her memories and forget what life was like after leaving Hogwarts. Sure, there was so much that she had forgotten, so much love that she couldn't remember. She had felt like an alien in her body when she had first woken up without her memories, and now she was getting used to it. But it still affected everyone, especially her children. She had stopped moving the pages when she had addressed Teddy, another family member that she had somewhat forgotten. She remembered when he was born, what it felt like to see his parents dead. But she didn't remember the aftermath, didn't remember so much. He and Harry were close from what she had been told, as well as herself and him, but she couldn't remember. All she could lean on was pictures and stories, but she had lost the real thing. He drew closer, touching an image on the page, and laughed as he spoke, her attention slowly slipping towards the page. She could imagine it, the way that Hermione had reacted, but she couldn't see it herself. "I don't remember it...but mom told me about it. Each time I stopped on this page, she let out a chuckle." She sighed, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. 'Anyone else up?' The ginger shook her head, glancing up at him, "No. Most of them sleep for hours."MADE BY VEL OF GS

it still stung when there was a memory she didn't know, a happy time when there had been laughter and fun. that she'd forgotten what she'd been to him and for him growing up. but it hurt more because of how it must have felt for her. when someone could look at a picture and know what had happened in it, had the first hand feelings of how they'd felt during that time. he didn't know what it was like to look at pictures of his past and not know what they were, he couldn't imagine it. "cause your mum picked me up and danced with me while you helped clean hermione's dress off." he said with a slightly sad smile as he poured the hot water out of the kettle and into the cups. he waved a finger over the cups, watching the water start swirling within them and he grabbed them, carrying them to the table and setting them down, one in front of ginny and the other in front of an empty chair.
"sounds like not much has changed." he said with a slight smile as he settled into the empty chair and he took a sip of the coffee, savouring the taste and hoping the alertness would kick in from it soon. "have you heard how rose and hugo are?" he hadn't worked up the courage to go to the house yet, he was still afraid that he'd see the door and get hopeful that she'd walk out of it. he wasn't ready for that feeling yet. it had almost driven him to insanity while he'd thought harry was dead.

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes The ginger had been struggling with her memory loss for a while now, but she was slowly accepting it. Hermione had promised that once they found Harry, they would get her memories back, but with her death, Ginny doesn't know if she wants it. She had felt the same when Harry was presumed dead; she didn't want more memories to cloud her mind and break her heart. Remembering her time with Hermione in school, and then her memories were taken, she was already hurting. Adding more to it would only break her more. She swallowed. Teddy seemed to be lost in the past, bringing up a memory that she didn't remember and only knew because she had been told. Looking through albums had been her solace for a while when she lost her memories, but not remembering it, it killed her. She let out a little chuckle as he explained what happened after the picture. However, the amusement didn't reach her eyes; instead, sadness was there. She could tell the memory was sad for him as well, his smile sad, his attention elsewhere. Ginny laughed, "It would seem that way," she said with a smile, nodding her head at the idea that nothing had changed. She slowly nodded her head, her smile sad before she spoke, "Ron said that their mom's death really hit them hard. He's barely gotten them to speak to him..." MADE BY VEL OF GS

he hadn't expected a different answer. how could they be anything but broken? they'd lost their mother. he didn't know what it was like to lose someone like that. in that way. his parents had been killed before he'd ever known them and while he grieved them and missed them, it was more the memory of them he missed. the missed opportunities, the missed feelings of love and security that he'd always felt came from having a mother and a father. "they might just need time." he said softly as he turned the hot cup in his hands slowly and he stared at the beige liquid inside.
"i still can't believe she's gone." he'd known loss before but it had never been like this. it had been residual, not current and real and fresh. someone he'd loved was suddenly gone and they all had to learn how to face the world without her. there would be no more running into her at the ministry, no more late night drinks in her office, no more of her at family dinners and occasions and she was going to become a memory that they'd tell the future about and he hated that that's what her life had been reduced to in the blink of an eye. memories. he brushed his thumb against his eye quickly before shaking his head a little. "has ron made any plans?"

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes Death was a constant for the family, something that she had learned during the Wizarding War against Voldemort. Her family had lost so many loved ones and friends that day, and she almost lost Harry. The fact that was all that she could remember, besides the new memories she had made since she lost her own, was enough to make anyone used to it all. But losing Hermione? It was too much for her to bear, and even though she had divorced Ron, she knew that her brother was struggling. Maybe because he still loved her, or perhaps because he had to care for his kids. Hermione had been Ron and Harry's best friend since they were eleven, and she could see that it hit them hard. She nodded her head in agreement with the fact that the kids needed time. They all did. Some needed it more than others, though, and Rose and Hugo were those people. "Believe me, I can't either. I keep thinking she'll walk through that door, a smile on her face..." Ginny and Hermione had become close over the years; she was there when her memories were taken and Harry's disappearance. Hermione was her best friend and always would be. 'Has Ron made any plans?' Ginny shook her head, tucking a strand of ginger locks behind her ear; "If he has, he hasn't mentioned anything."MADE BY VEL OF GS

he felt the same. he still expected to see her at work or when he was at the burrow or even when he was staying here. he still expected to see her face while they were sitting around the dinner table. the last time he'd seen her and spoke to her, he'd never imagined for a second that it would be the last. that was on him though. it wasn't as if he was unaware that people could be taken from you in a second. his parents had been gone, harry had been gone at one point, though he'd brought himself back to them and now hermione was gone. along with people he'd worked with, his grandfather and even some of the student he's gone to school with. not all of them were still alive and he needed to steel himself against the fact that the next time he spoke to someone could be their last.
"complaining about something ron's done again.." he said with a smile as he lowered his arms onto the table and crossed them, leaning down on them lightly as he looked across the table at one of the women that had been as close to a mother figure as he'd had over the years. "it might take him a few days.." he said softly as he lifted one hand to rub it against the back of his neck. "we need to figure out what we're going to do .." he said softly as he chewed his lip for a second. "i don't want to sit here anymore." he said as he lifted his head to look back at ginny. "someone killed her and i want to find them."

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes A small chuckle left the ginger's lips as Teddy added to her statement. She nodded her head, "She always had something to complain about when it came to my idiot of a brother..." Her voice was soft, filled with emotions. Even though Hermione and Ron had gone through some rough patches over the years, ultimately leading to a recent divorce, she knew they cared about each other. They had, after all, been the best of friends first. Harry and those two were thick as thieves, and the loss would be worse on those two than anyone else, besides Hugo and Rose. She was pulled from her thoughts and muses by the anger that seemed to radiate from the male before her. He mentioned that he didn't want to sit around anymore, that they needed to do something, that someone killed her, and that they had to find them. Ginny knew where he was coming one; she too had a gut feeling there was more to this than the news was sharing. There was something more and darker behind this, "And I agree...but we have to do this rationally. If there is someone truly behind her death and all those people, we have to tread lightly."MADE BY VEL OF GS

he knew he wasn't the only one who wanted to get their revenge on the person who had killed hermione. there had to be a ring leader. it wasn't like people just came together to attack an event like they had without someone pulling strings. it was very rarely just one person, at least in his experience. he didn't want to be sitting there and doing nothing while the people who had done this just went about their lives, planning and plotting their next attack. he had no doubt that there would be another, he just had no idea when. if it was him he'd plan another quickly, while the world was still in turmoil and hadn't come up with a plan of attack. but that was just him and he didn't think the people behind what had happened thought like he did. "so long as rationally doesn't mean nothing." he said softly as he looked at her. "there is someone behind it. there has to be." he said as he turned the cup of coffee in his hands, wishing hard that he could pour anything stronger into the mix. "and we should strike before the dust settles if we can just figure out who it was and where they are ..."
