Mazie was ... not okay. She couldn't really remember exactly what happened. She didn't really know where she was. There was just a loud ringing in her ears. There was screaming and everything felt hot, and for some reason her leg really hurt, but she wasn't entirely sure why. She came in and out of consciousness several times before she was awake enough to actually remember. The Quidditch Match. An explosion. She'd been blasted off her feet, then tried to rush with everyone else to get out, but a beam of wood fell on her and knocked her out. Apparently it broke her leg too. That or something else did. What she did remember was waking up a few seconds later. People were still rushing around, trying to get out. Mazie grabbed her wand and used it to get the beam off of her leg, then she stumbled outside. She got back to her tent before passing out again. At least she shouldn't be in danger anymore. When she finally woke up, Mazie was in a hospital bed. St. Mungos. She really couldn't be anywhere else. She moaned and turned her head, not surprised at all when she saw the familiar face. "Hey you," she greeted her older sister, relieved that she was there. @alyra

Lee hadn’t been at the Quidditch match. It wasn’t really her thing and she didn’t want to go. She regretted that now. She had let Mazie go with some of her friends and there was a reported firework malfunction at the game. Hundreds of people were injured, several were dead as well. And she found all of this out when a mediwizard called her and told her that her sister was among the injured and she needed to come down to the hospital and collect her when she awoke.
Lee got to the hospital and a woman at the desk told her what room and floor her sister was being kept in. The healers filled her in on everything. Mazie had a broken leg and they were treating her for a concussion as well. They said she’d need a few days of rest of her leg to fully heal, but that she could go home when she woke up and was ready. Lee could imagine they were desperate for the bed space. She walked into the room and saw Mazie lying there. It was awful. She pulled up a chair and sat by her side until she awoke, texting their parents the whole time to update them. Mazie woke up and greeted her sister and Lee looked at the girl. “mom’s gonna kill me you know.” she teased in a whisper, a smile crawling onto her face. “How are you feeling?” she asked.

Mazie was definitely NOT going to admit how much a relief it was that when she woke up, Lee was right there. She smiled up at her sister, rolling her eyes slightly at the teasing. "It wasn't your fault, and I'm going to be just fine. My leg is just a little worse for wear at the moment." Mazie hesitated a second, a thought occurring to her. "Wait. They're not going to try and bring me home again, right?" Mazie didn't want to go back. As much as she loved her parents, she hated being stuck with friends. Here in England, with so many of her friends nearby, Mazie was a lot happier than she'd been for half of last year. She shrugged when the question registered to her. "I'm fine. Just a little sore. My leg aches, but it's nothing that'll do too much damage." She smiled, hoping that would help Lee not worry about her. Mazie really was going to be fine. @alyra

Maize seemed alright when she woke up, so Lee was able to let out a relieved breath when she finally spoke about being alright and her leg just being a little worse for wear at the moment. She then asked if they were going to try to bring her back home since she was injured and Lee shrugged. “I haven’t managed to get either of them on the phone yet to even tell them” she admitted. “I’ll do my best, though. But i can’t say that another explosion will look good to them, or to any of the American families whose children are here.” she would understand if some families did petition for their children to be sent home despite the country-wide quarantine. Lee nodded again when mazie said that she was fine and explained what was going on. “Oh I know, the healers told me everything.” she had tracked them down and ensured that she knew every tiny detail about her sister's state and injuries. “I’m just glad that you’re alright.”

Lee finally admitted that she hadn't been able to talk to their parents yet and Mazie grimaced. Great. So she was going to have to argue with her parents in order to stay. She had no desire to go back home and get stuck in home-school again. Really, she knew her parents wouldn't like it either, they were just worried for her safety. Still, she couldn't stand the thought. She'd much rather stay here, even if it was dangerous. Once school started, she'd be safe enough, wouldn't she? "I don't want to go back," Mazie whispered, not meeting Lee's eyes. She loved her parents, and understood their concern, but the idea of going back and being trapped in her parent's house made her anxious. "Please actually try to convince them to let me stay," Mazie added after a minute. She trusted her sister, but she was also nervous that Lee would take her parents' side, which was the last thing Mazie waned. She rolled her eyes, the mood a little lighter, when Lee admitted that the healers already told her everything. That basically meant that she'd bullied them into it. Or scared them, or something. "I'm fine. Really. I ... was lucky," her tone grew a little more serious at the end again. She really was lucky. Others hadn't been. "Are you okay?" @alyra
