After taking over the Violent Hound Pub Vasilia had been notified that they didn't have a bar tender. Well, that was a bit awkward. The previous one left when they were told the pub would be switching ownership. But, Vasilia was discouraged. She knew, if needed, she could run a bar. But she also knew she had good judge of character and good find the right replacement. After putting up a help wanted she had a good number of candidates for the position, but one in particular stood out. A former healer, who had returned to the country after time spent in the states. He didn't have bartending experience, but he had something very useful. Healing experience. She'd been told that all bars had a possibility of getting a bit.. unruly. Having someone on staff that was training in healing magic was very appealing.
So, she'd set up an interview with the man. HE was a little older than her, but not by much. Plus, she just had a good feeling about it. She couldn't explain why. Just.. a good feeling.
Vasilia waited at one of the tables. When the door opened, and a young man entered she knew she had the right person. Rising to her feet she flashed a smile and held out her hand to shake her own. "You're Cassius, right? I'm Vasilia. I really appreciate you coming in with such short notice. Please, why don't you take a sit?" She motioned to the chair across from her own at the table with her free hand, then sat back down in her own chair. "So, why don't you tell me about yourself? What brings you back to London?"

Cassius missed being a healer. Obviously he still practiced for those who needed it in secret, but he missed the prestige of having the job, people knowing what he did, looking up to him for it. Still, he wasn't ready to go back into that right now. He had to find Elaine and the others and... well, figure out where he fit into all of this now. So, he was going to lay low and what better way to lay low than to work at a pub? It would be easier to pick up on foot traffic, gossip, and stay out of the way. He came in for the interview, dressed up in a black button up, slacks, but not tie. This was a pub, not an office building. Plus, ties weren't really his thing. He saw a woman rise to her feet, and immediately took her hand to shake it. "Yes, nice to meet you. Thank you for having me come in," he sat in the chair she gestured to, taking a seat. His posture was easy and casual, not at all stiff or uptight. Cassias was... laid back. Or at least seemed to be. "Aw, yes. I came back to see some old friends and decided to stick around. I miss the smell," he said coolly, "the energy, you know?"vasilia abigail fortescue

The man who entered was good looking, and made a good impression. Dressed nice, but not too nice. Business casual, which was the best dress you'd find in a pub like this. That was a good start. Vasilia had already interviewed two people that had shown up in ripped jeans and a t-shirt. She didn't mind that kind of dress at all. Just wasn't very interview appropriate. Then the way he spoke. It was smooth, casual. Confident enough that it was clear he had good social skills. Also a good trait for the job. You didn't want a social awkward bartender. She smiled, firmly shaking his hand when he returned her hand shake. Soon they were sitting across from each other. Vas folded her hands in her lap, still smiling brightly. So far she liked what she was seeing. Professionally, of course!
Cassius explained that he'd come back to visit then decided to stay. She laughed lightly as he mentioned the smell and energy. "London definitely has a smell to it! But I get you. London's a unique place. It's hard to get it out of your system," she answered. "How are you with people? You'll come across all sorts in this job."

She laughed and seemed to understand what he meant by missing London. At her next question he chuckled a little himself. "Well, I've actually been trained to be a Healer so I've had my share of 'dealing with people' training," he explained. "Although, I hear that the hospitality industry is much worse," he grinned his usual winning smile, leaning back slightly in his seat. He kept his gaze professional but he couldn't help but notice how stunning she was, it was hard not to with her sitting right in front of him. She seemed smart too, and definitely... had a spark, that was something he looked up to. His first real love was a firecracker, that was for sure, so his type was pretty set. "I'd say I'm pretty good at meeting people where they're at. Hospitals and pubs are not that different if you really think about it," people drank to heal, or so they tried. They needed someone to talk to? Bartenders are the cheapest therapists. vasilia abigail fortescue

His answer was exactly what she was hoping. His healing experience gave him people skills. To deal with their shenanigans. She grinned. "It definitely can be, but any experience with people is a good start." Vas had been in the industry her whole life, so there was little people could do to surprise her now. Though, you never knew. People were curious creatures. They had a knack for thinking outside the box.
She leaned forward, her elbows on the table, listening as he explained that he was good at meeting people, and how hospitals and pubs weren't too different. Well, there were definitely some differences, but Vasilia could see where he was coming from. She nodded in agreement. "Some wounds need a hospital and others just need to drown their sorrows in a drink and good company." Though, knowing when to cut off people would also be a much needed skill. "How are you with confrontation? Sometimes patrons can get pretty rowdy. Pubs may be chaos, but they are controlled chaos."
