Silence is the loudest, Parting word you never say. I put your world Into my veins Now a voiceless sympathy Is all that remains. 1 JUNE 2025 CONTENT WARNING: smoking & cursing! Hogwarts was out, and instead of getting do travel around for the Summer like she and Landon had planned. They were trapped...at home. However, the blonde had made a deal with her boyfriend that she would stop by whenever, even if it meant sneaking out of her own home. Things changed, sadly, when she learned that her best friend - Jessie Meadows - had nowhere to go because of the Hag's Fever, or whatever it was called. She offered her home up, begging her parents to let her crash with them. They had the room, and she didn't want her friend to be homeless - or worse, be forced to stay at the orphanage. The only person she didn't tell, however, was her brother. Not that it mattered anyway. Why did she need his stupid opinion on the matter? It was like a sleepover, just for the entire Summer. He could get fucking over it if he had a problem with it. Plus, she hadn't exactly told him that Jessie was staying with them, but she was sure it was a treat when he found her wandering around their home. He hadn't spoken to her since Jessie moved in, and she had been out all day, that the moment she arrived back home, she plopped down on the porch with a cigarette. The feeling of it between her lips, felt blissful as she lit it up with a lighter. She was sure her parents would hate her for such an unhealthy habit at a young age, but she didn't care. Kicking her shoes off, she held it between her fingers, letting a puff of smoke release from her lips. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Summer was Simon's favorite time of the year because it was the only time he had complete freedom to do whatever he wanted. Most of his days were spent hanging out, smoking, drinking, or playing quidditch. It was an easy life. Simon wasn't planning on picking up a book until he had the natural urge to do so. Then again, that may change now that he had fellow Gryffindor, Jessie Meadows - AKA 'The Bossiest Person He Knew' - staying at his house for the summer. Simon couldn't believe that Sofia would do that to him! He had been meaning to give her shit for not telling him, but he didn't want to do it in front of Jessie. As much as she annoyed him, he didn't want to make her feel unwanted or bad for being there. The moment finally came while he was sitting in his room working on a painting, he saw Sofia's blonde head pass his window so he cleaned his brush and stood up.
Simon pushed the door open in one swift, fluid movement. He stood in the doorway of his bedroom leading to their shared patio with a spliff already dangling from his lips, offering her a challenging expression paired with furrowed brows. Inhaling through his nose, he lit the end of the spliff with a lighter, sighing. "Sof, you've really outdone yourself this time..." he puffed out a cloud of smoke, his lips formed a straight line as he collapsed in the chair across from her, offering the leg of her chair a kick. "You're evolving into a slutty Rosa Parks...." he jested harshly, though he wasn't trying to upset her. They were rough with each other but Simon would go to hell and back if anyone treated his sister wrong.
The lion was never one for beating around the bush, so he'd come right out and say it. He knew she was well aware that he was speaking of Jessie Meadows. Simon took a drag of his spliff before continuing his tangent. "Were you ever planning on mentioning anything about Miss Georgia Sweet Tea bunkering down with us over the summer while you go running off with your new boyfriend?" he asked her with a pointed look, blinking at her comically with his head cocked to the side to show that he was ~mostly joking about the matter. Joking was the only way he could cope about it.

Silence is the loudest, Parting word you never say. I put your world Into my veins Now a voiceless sympathy Is all that remains. The silence was broken, and already Sofia knew that she was in big trouble. Her brother appeared from the doorway, his own cigarette dangling from his lips. His look was challenging, and she quickly raised her own eyebrow, her eyes shining with nothing but innocence. "And what have I done this time?" she questioned, her tone of voice holding a sickly sweet tone, one that erupted in laughter as he called her a slutty Rosa Parks. "That's a low blow Simon..."Sofia knew exactly what he was referring to - Jessie Marie Meadows. She knew about the little fight between him and Claudia, but it didn't come from her brother's word of mouth. And while it was partially to get under his skin, she had done it to help a friend out. She took another drag, letting the puff of smoke leave her lips as he spoke. She shrugged her shoulders, "I got mom and dad's permission. And it's not like I'm going to be living with Landon, I'll be fluttering back and forth. Why...is her staying here a problem?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Simon offered his sister a knowing smile when she said that his statement was a low blow, he didn't care. "I know," he chuckled, shrugging his shoulders upwards unapologetically with a smug smile and a twinkle in his eye. If someone else were to call her a slut, that would be a completely different story. Only he was allowed to make those horrible jokes about his sister. His parents wouldn't be happy with him calling her such a horrible word though.
The half-vamp perched his foot on the empty chair across from Sof, resting his elbow on the armrest and his chin in the palm of his hand, rolling his eyes to the back of his head, "No, you didn't have to ask for my permission," he told her, taking a generous puff of his spliff and exhaling as he spoke, "But you didn't even think about enlightening your...handsome....older, twin brother, that his annoying tutor was staying over for the summer?" he asked, obviously joking by his tone, and the way he always pointed out being older at the stupidest moments. "You know what you were doing..." he drawled, narrowing his icy blue saucers at her. She was trying to torture him with a summer of reading and studying, and surely his mother was elated for the idea because she wanted him to keep the same momentum he had throughout the year. Jessie was some sort of secret weapon and Simon didn't like it.

Even as he chuckled that he knew it was a low blow, she could hear it in his tone that he didn't care. She wasn't surprised; she would have been precisely the same if the roles had been reversed. They loved each other in their way, and most of the time, they didn't care about the blows they threw at one another. It just added to the exciting relationship that the brother and sister duo shared. She put the cigarette between her lips once more, rolling her eyes at her brother, removing it once she went to speak. He was quick to refute her speech, stating that she didn't need to ask his permission. However, she could tell that it irked him that Jessie was staying with them, especially as he asked why she didn't enlighten him that his tutor was staying with them for the summer. She faked surprise, placing a hand to her chest, "Oh? Tutor? My brother needs a tutor? I didn't realize that was what Jessie was to you. If I had known...oh, dear. What have I done?" she questioned, her tone holding sarcasm as she placed the smoke once more between her lips. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Sofia had a way of making Simon feel stupid. Not only did she do better in school than him, she had more mental stamina as well. Simon would argue that he was the more athletic one. "What did you think she was?" he asked defensively, her sarcasm going over his head. Simon looked at her for a moment, his chest deflating because he realized she was being sarcastic. "Fuck you, Sofia." he exhaled a cloud of smoke, offering her a heated look. Simon wished he could shake her. "Just be sure to keep track of your friend...I don't want her following me around and trying to make me read all summer." he told her, as if Jessie were already following him around like a puppy dog. She wasn't. If only he was so lucky. Simon kicked his feet up on the patio table, allowing a billow of smoke to surround his face.

Silence is the loudest, Parting word you never say. I put your world Into my veins Now a voiceless sympathy Is all that remains. Being related to Sofia meant that one was constantly in competition with her. Or at least, was always up for a jab from the young halfling. It just sucked for Simon, having to be her twin and all...he got the blunt force of it all. It didn't help that the blonde could sweet talk her parents into giving her whatever she wanted, which included allowing Jessie to stay with them over the summer. There was no way they would let one of their daughter's best friends staying in an orphanage, now would they? She gave them the little puppy eyes, and they were putty. Of course, Sofia wasn't looking to be around the house much - a new development in her Summer Holiday. But watching Simon at that moment, sputtering over his own words, getting annoyed with her over a cloud of smoke. Now that? That was a development she all but enjoyed; she enjoyed watching him squirm. She practically lived for his discomfort, and she was a little surprised this was as uncomfortable than she thought it was. She knew about the tutoring, but he was acting like... "One of my best friends? Why does it matter to you anyway? It was either the orphanage with the rest of the kids or here with us. I wasn't about to let my friend sleep with bed bugs."'Just be sure to keep track of your friend...I don't want her following me around and trying to make me read all summer.' A smirk slowly developed on her face as she brought the cigarette to her lips, puffing out smoke a second later as she inspected her fingernails. "About that...I won't be around much this summer," she started, her attention moving back to Simon, "Landon just graduated and invited me to stay at his place. So I'll likely be there more than I'm here, so..." MADE BY VEL OF GS

As much as Simon loved his sister, their constant bickering became exhausting for him at times. Sometimes he just wanted to enjoy a cigarette in peace with her but tonight she had to bring up Jessie. It rubbed him the wrong way because he wasn't expecting to see her at his home. Honestly it was extremely off-putting at first because he was looking to get away from his housemate. Simon would admit that they had come a long way over the past months. He felt like he understood her a little more now and vice versa. When Sofia explained that Jessie would have had to stayed in an orphanage, his stomach dropped. Fuck. He hated that he actually did care about her well being. "Okay....yeah...I wouldn't want her to end up there either." he agreed, surprisingly. Simon puffed the last puffs of his cigarette and snuffed it out in the ash tray before lighting another. Sofia made him smoke that one at record timing for being a professional at getting on his nerves.
Just as Simon started to agree with her, she flipped the story in her typical Sofia fashion. She always had a way of doing that. She dropped the news that she'd be staying at Landons and wasn't planning on being around much over the summer. it seemed like Jessie was 'taking her place' or something. His icy blue eyes widened at his sister, unable to hide the disbelief that she downright admitted to planning on not being around. "What. The. Fuck." he told her, exhaling a cloud of smoke and shaking his head at her. "You're going to make us entertain your friend all summer? Really cool of you, Sof.." he rolled his eyes, kicking his feet out onto the chair across from him as he sprawled out smoking his cig. Shaking his head at his twin he sent her an icy look, quiet for a moment before snapping, "Don't get yourself knocked up."

Silence is the loudest, Parting word you never say. I put your world Into my veins Now a voiceless sympathy Is all that remains. 'Okay...yeah...I wouldn't want her to end up there either.' Sofia hadn't realized what her brother had said yet, ranting and raving about her friend staying with them instead of at the orphanage. And then, suddenly, her words stopped the stick of smoke frozen in the air, inches from her lips. Slowly she lowered her hand, head turning to look at her brother and raising her eyebrow. "Did...did you just agree with me?" she questioned, a sly smirk slowly appearing on her lips. "Did the infamous Simon Svendsen just agree with his beautiful and amazing sister?" A laugh rang from her lips, amusement on her lips as she slowly raised the smoke to lips and took a puff. She gave that moment to reveal her summer plans, and Simon did not look amused. "Not all summer. I have to stop by sometimes, don't I? It'll just be...well, most of the time. I'm sure you can handle that, right?" she questioned, smiling at her brother. Slowly that smile died on her lips when he told her not to get knocked up, eyes narrowing into slits. She wished that she could just kill him with her gaze at that moment. "Do I look like a fucking idiot?" she questioned, flicking the cigarette away from her and standing up, stomping on it to end its life. "Just play nice, alright?" she questioned, quickly moving to head back instead, but not before she ruffled her fingers through his hair. Her laugh rang out as she headed inside, giving her brother the middle finger as she walked away. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Simon froze when Sofia's expression changed to a look of satisfaction as he agreed with her. Damn, he didn't want to do that, but he wasn't a monster either. As annoying as she was, Jessie Meadows was a nice girl. Too nice sometimes. There were worse people who could stay at their house for the summer, that was for sure. Simon would admit that he had become protective over the lioness since helping him out academically. He knocked a Slytherin kid out in the hallway for calling her a Mudblood a couple of weeks ago.
He didn't like his sisters victorious smile and laugh when he agreed with her. Hell, he never liked giving Sofia the satisfaction of being right. A frown pulled down the corners of his lips immediately after and he shook his head back and forth, exhaling the smoke with an eye roll, "Don't make me regret it." he told her, already regretting it. This summer break was going to be weird. Merlin, he wasn't going to be comfortable in his own home!
Shrugging his shoulders lazily, the lion gave her a look that conveyed, 'Do you really want me to answer that?' when she asked him if he really thought she was dumb enough to get pregnant. As she started to walk out of the room and told him to play nice, giving him the middle finger, "Yeah, fuck you too, Sof." he chuckled, mirroring the middle finger aggressively, pretending to trip her on the way out.
THEEE END @sofia
i love the idea of starting something new!! thanks <3
