@dana luke glanced at his watch for what might have been the umpteenth time in the last few minutes but he couldn't help it. he'd had a moment of idiocy when he'd signed up for the blind dates being offered up by blishwicks. maybe it had been a moment of fog after a busy day at the ministry, he couldn't really remember but he'd signed up, and he had to go through with it. at the very least it would be a good chance to stock up on the candy he'd been missing since he'd left hogwarts. he shoved a hand into the pocket of his jacket as he glanced up towards the path that led to the large castle that had been his home for the seen years previous. it was strange to be back in the little town , being so close but so far.
he tugged at his jacket a little, as if to try and straighten it slightly. he hadn't thought to wear anything other than his usual jeans, shirt with a sweater over it and finishing with a comfy jacket. they were going to be making candy, not eating somewhere fancy so he'd figured it didn't matter. now he was actually here he was second guessing himself slightly. he held a flower in one hand, a way to let his date know that he was him and also a gesture. he'd thought anything more would have been too much and he couldn't just show up empty handed, that wasn't on either. well he didn't think it was, he hadn't been on a date in a while, half by choice and half because he hadn't had time. today was going to change all that though, at least for a few hours.

SIGNING UP FOR BLISHWICKS FOR the second time hadn’t been a plan on Dana’s list for the start of the year…Or the new season. But with Lars pretty much still in a relationship and Dana having no time or confidence (amongst the pandemic and all the chaos as of recent), Dana needed some time and enjoyment for herself. So she knew going on dates was best for her. When she was notified of her match, to meet her date and make candy at Honeydukes, Dana felt nothing but nervousness.
Dressed casually for the date, Dana rushed to where she had to meet her date, by the steps of the store. As she turned the corner, her rush of a slight jog came to a simple walk and a smile rose to her lips at the sight of her date. With a flower in his hand, Dana’s head tilted as she began to question if that was her date or not. Approaching him she brushed the skirt of her dress down and shone him a smile. ”Hey…I’m..Dana..”
@luke & sorry for this late response!

@dana he wasn't sure what he'd been expecting when he'd signed up for this blind date. there was always the chance of being stuck with someone who was as boring as wet paint or someoen that was that over the top they were hard to keep up with. meeting new people was like russian roulette, at least in his opinion.
who walked up to him, was not what he'd been expecting. he straightened as he was approached, the girl in question reachinig to brush her skirt as she did and he couldn't help but follow her with his gaze as she did. when she said her name he nodded a little. "hi dana, i'm luke." he said as he brushed a hand lightly through his hair, nerves starting to run through him. he didn't like feeling nervous, it wasn't a feeling he was used to and it shook him a little that he was feeling it now.
he held out the flower to her, after all it was for her. "i brought this, it didn't seem right to turn up empty handed." he said with half a grin as he looked back at the building they were in front of. "shall we?" he said as he took a step towards the door, reaching to pull it open for her. "fair warning, anything i cook will probably be poisonous."

INTRODUCING HERSELF WAS JUST A small cherry on top. Her date was luckily cute — and this time someone she didn’t know at all. Luke was oddly cute enough, which only brought a wider smile to Dana’s lips as he spoke. The flower he handed to her was a sweet gesture and the Knox let out a sound of awe as she took the flower from him. ”It’s beautiful…Thank you..” Now came along the blush. It truly was a lovely gesture.
”We shall.” She responded, smiling at him as he reached for the door. ”I think you’ll be fine…Besides aren’t we making candy here?…”

@dana "no worries." he said as she took the flower. so far it seemed like it had been the right thing to do. girls always seemed to like flowers so it had seemed like the right thing to bring. he pulled the door open and then grinned as she said they weren't really cooking. if it involved heat, food and changing the temperature of something, then he was rubbish at it. "trust me, it won't make any difference. you'll see." he said as he followed her through the door. he wondered if they'd be the only people in there or whether it was going to be a group thing. he couldn't help eyeing off some of the candy as they walked past it, trying to think what his stash was like back at his apartment. he hadn't been to hogsmeade since he'd graduated from hogwarts and what better time to stock it up. "so are you a candy lover?"

WITH A CLOSER LOOK, DANA couldn't help but smile at the appearance of the flower, in complete bloom and absolutely beautiful. As Luke pulled open the door, she stepped in beside him, walking at his pace. She couldn't help but let out a quiet giggle as he responded, telling her that regardless, he was a terrible chef. Dana doubted it a lot, considering they didn't really need to do much. At least that's what she thought. Candy didn't seem to be hard to make anyway, just sugar and a few other ingredients before heating it to form a shape. Seemed easy enough.
As they walked past some of the candy within the store, the Knox's eyes lit up at everything. It just seemed mouthwatering as a whole. She wondered herself if the date would only be the two of them amongst the candy employees or if there would be groups also. The blonde kind of hoped for the first option, as it would push her to creating more conversation with her mystery man. "Um..." She began, thinking. "Kind of? But as a kid my Mom would kind of refuse too much candy. Especially for my siblings." She smiled at the thought of it, how Noah and Kara would whine and end up sharing their candy. "How about you?.."

@dana he couldn't really remember his parents being strict about food. they probably were cause he didn't remember eating copious amounts of candy at his house, though when they were at the burrow, it had been somewhat of a different story. "yeah i eat it more than i probably should." he said with a bit of a laugh as he looked around the shelves. he didn't like the candy that felt soft, there was something wrong about it but he did like chocolate and anything watermelon flavoured. "my grandmother had this habit, if our parents said no when we were kids, she'd turn around and sneak us two." he said with a fond smile spreading across his face. the burrow had felt most like home to him while growing up, it still did really. he reached the door he figured was the one they'd need to go through and he reached out to open it, moving aside so she could step through into whatever awaited them on the other side.

LOOKING OVER AT HER DATE with a widened smile, Dana contemplated for a moment...What if her date had secretly hated candy? How awkward would have the date been? But as Luke answered, Dana's mental state wiped an imaginary sweat from her imaginary forehead. That's a relief. "Honestly?.." She began, pausing once she pondered for a moment. "Who can't resist a bit of candy?...Having a sweet tooth is the best painful thing I would say."
Dana smiled at the anecdote, wondering if her parents had once done the same to her before the accident. "I feel like my Dad might have done that with me...But my memories not all there anymore." It hadn't been since her father and younger sister died, and it only got worse once Dana took on the responsibilities her mother should have been observing. Muttering a quiet thank you as she passed through the door, a soft gasp of a surprise left the Knox's lips once her eyes settled on whatever on Merlin's earth was before her.
