Nixie had never been the type of person to stay in one place. While many people tended not to travel half as much as a curse breaker did, Nixie could understand someone being impressed with her travels. She had been to many places around the world. She did have time to share in others culture, and see some sights, but most of her time was spent finding and breaking curses. That was what she lived for. She loved the excitement, the mystery, and feeling of victory when you finally found a treasure. The items were never the exciting part, it was how they got there, and breaking the ancient curses that Nixie loved. The girl laughed at Sienna's response. "I'll keep that in mind." She did hope that she would be going there soon. There were many catacombs and magical area's yet to be explored. "Or maybe you can come down an visit while I'm there." The girl offered. It wasn't uncommon for a cures breakers family or friends to take advantage of their location. But because of Nixie's Muggle origins, they rarely met her where she was. She - intentionally - kept out how dangerous her career was.
The two continued through the house, Nixie walking beside her friend, but letting the other girl lead as she spoke. "I can give you all the gritty details if you really insist,” Nixie chuckled, "Well, there's plenty of time for that" Normal life conversation wasn't something that came up too much for Nixie. True, there was some of it at work, but it was usually cut short with a "watch your step" or "what does this symbol mean". Nixie followed Sienna into the room where the others were and found a nice spot, swung off her bag, plopping it on the floor, then situating herself in the spot she had picked out.
Now they were all there. Living with not many neighbors, and all brothers, Nixie rarely found herself in a situation like this. But that was part of the adventure. Taking a glance at the other girls, one she had never seen before, while the other looked familiar. Perhaps they had encountered each other at Gringotts at some point.

It was like stepping into another universe. The mansion was quite big and when they (finally) got to the room Sienna had readied for them it was something like a suite with four very large beds. There would be no need to sleep on the floor. She saw a door in one of the corners which she could only guess led to an adjacent bathroom. The room wasn't decorated very ostentatiously but everything seemed to be very high quality. Heleen had to give credit to Auguste because he clearly had made a lot of money and could decorate rather well according to her. The style was simple but that wouldn't deceive anybody into thinking that it had been cheap. She looked around a little and ended up putting her little bag on one of the beds. She wondered if Carmen (or Camila) also had a house like this. She didn't want to be rude in asking though, so she kept that thought to herself. Heleen smiled at the small crew of girls then. She figured an introduction could be good for the one girl she hadn't spoken with yet. She smiled and gave a small wave towards the redheaded girl. "Hi, I'm Heleen, nice to meet you. I'm an old school friend of Sienna." She hoped that would suffice in terms of short introductions and wanted to get the party started as well. She pulled out the little box she kept her nail polish in and held it up for a moment. "I brought nail polish in case we want to do each others nails. I sometimes do nail art for fun so I could do some more intricate designs if you want." She offered. She wondered if any of the other girls had specific girly stuff they enjoyed doing and what the topic for tonight were going to be. Heleen at least was rather curious about Sienna's relationship, how could she not be? It wasn't every day that an old friend ended up dating a superstar after all. camila calderón Sienna Aurélie Linslee @nixie

The room in which they had found themselves was, like the rest of Gus's mansion, certainly impressive, and the four of them were soon all in there together. Sienna eagerly opened the door, flopping down on a couch and checking that they all knew each other. Camila hadn't had much of an opportunity to interact with Nixie, the girl who had been speaking with Sienna as they made their way upstairs, but she smiled politely and then grinned when she saw how much work Sienna had put in when it came to the party. There were snacks (and wine, though she didn't drink much) and even a television. It was great.
Camila wasn't choosy about which bed she wanted, because they all looked positively luxurious, but she set her belongings at the foot of one of them. Somehow, she didn't think that there would be any issues over who would claim what, and she listened as Heleen introduced herself to Nixie and then mentioned that she had brought nail polish for all of them.
"I'm Carmen," Camila explained to Nixie. Even though Sienna had previously made a point to introduce them all to each other, she didn't want to feel as though Sienna had to speak for her or anything just because she was famous. "I am a friend of Sienna and Auguste."
Unlike Heleen, she hadn't come prepared with another activity, though she did have a few snacks in her bag in addition to what Sienna had set out. She walked over to the couch upon which Sienna had settled and sat down, too, removing her shoes. While she didn't know what the others would want to do first, Camila didn't have any preference.

Sienna grinned as everybody was finally in one room. She could understand some of the hesitation about touching anything even if she’d never fully experienced it herself – her dad had been a fairly successful performer in his day, and that had always translated into a life of becoming comfortable with travel and being around other people’s things. And the fact that all of the girls had at least one non-magical parent and some level of exposure to the Muggle world meant that they wouldn’t have to go through the nitty-gritty of, say, what a TV was. As Hel brought out her box of nail polish, Si looked interestedly at the supplies. “You know,” she began conversationally, “the day I discovered you could use magic on nail art was probably the best day of my life!” she ended with a giggle as she remembered the hours she’d spent experimenting with little charms at Beauxbatons. Her friendship with Heleen had really taken off when they’d discovered some of their shared interests, and Hel’s talent with the designs had been a lucky find. Camila had come to sit by her, and Si smiled at her before asking the group, “So what are we in the mood for first? A movie, snacks, giving Heleen a real challenge?” She paused. “Whoever says snacks first wins my heart forever. What do you think, Nixie?” Si turned to the redhead before fluttering her eyelashes teasingly. “Want to make my dreams come true?” @nixie @seph camila calderón

Nixie wasn't used to such nice surroundings. Her family lived modestly, and since she had graduated from school, she spent most of her time in places infested with all manner of things that hadn't seen the light of a wand in centuries, if they lived that long. While this place was nice, Nixie didn't envy it. Having a place that was this nice, after putting the time into getting or building the place, then furnishing it so nicely, the time alone was an investment. After all of that, it would ultimately mean that the person who lived here had roots. They actually lived somewhere. Nixie wasn't one to like the idea of staying in one place. If she lived a nomadic life for years to come, she would be happy. For now though, the place seemed great, there was plenty of room for all the girls to spread out, and there was a number of treats, and even some wine. Along with some muggle comforts, Nixie could get used to spending some time in a place like this.
After plopping down in a comfortable spot, the girl that Nixie had never met waved at her, giving her name as Heleen, and the other as Carmen. "I'm Nixie" The girl felt it would be redundant to say that she was friends with Sienna, as it seemed as though that was the reason that all of them had ended up in this room. She held back a bit of a laugh about the girl bringing nail polish. She had never been that type of girl, thought she was willing to join in. The funniest thought was of her with nicely manicured nails in an old tomb. It just didn't fit. She kept her nails extremely short, to prevent injury. Nixie laughed at Sienna's batting eyes, and smiled mischievously "I never say no to snacks. Though not sure nail art would last too long when I go back to work" She winked at no one in particular, just towards the girls in the room.

Here it was once again very clear how incredibly similar Sienna and Heleen were. Snacks first? "Oh yes! Definitively snacks first." She agreed with Sienna without even a moment of hesitation. It was only natural for her to agree. "Snacks always go first for a multitude of reasons. For starters, they make it less likely we grow hungry while entertaining other activities. Secondly, you can never go wrong with candy. Third, if you do nails first, candy after and you end up going for crisps you will completely and utterly destroy any possible nail art. Fourth, I spied chocolate and consumption of chocolate causes the body to produce a hormone called endorfine, which actually makes you happier as proven by science. Fifth, it's massively distracting to constantly look at a bowl of snacks while trying to produce nail art for me so I'd do much better work on a sugar high." With that plea for snacks first out of the way, she smiled broadly and winked at Sienna, half dancing her way to the snack table and filling two bowls. One with snacks that she knew Sienna would love and the other with snacks she herself was fond of. Naturally chocolates were included. She levitated the bowl towards Sienna before looking at the other two. "Do you want me to compile a bowl of heaven? If so, any preferences for what to put it in or should I make a best of with some of Sienna and my favourites?" She asked kindly. When one spoke of candy it had been a well known fact in school that the both of them were experts in candy. Heleen had at times persuaded the kitchen staff to allow her some time and ingredients to bake as a hobby and she'd gladly used that time. She wasn't an expert but she enjoyed a good home made cake or cupcake any day. Besides, they usually turned out quite alright! She smiled at Nixie and shrugged. "Mine never lasts long enough to get to lunch when I wear it to work. It's chipped or scratched if I end up tinkering or otherwise all charms I put on it are warped beyond recognition before lunch. The only time it remained a tiny bit decent was when I went to a muggle nail salon. No magic means magic can't mess it up either." It was about as much as she could actually say about her job without inviting trouble. Not that it was a lot of information to begin with but it was more for the purpose of letting Nixie know she didn't do it for hopes of showing it off to others. "I like doing nails, not so much for the lasting end result as the end result after it's done and the process of doing it. It's more about creative expression than making something people will wear for a long time." She shrugged. Not every kind of art was meant to last after all. Sometimes creation was far more important than preservation of said creation. If one had fun while creating no work of art was ever a waste of time in her eyes, even if it lasted only hours before being destroyed. camila calderón Sienna Aurélie Linslee @nixie

It was going to be nice to get to know Sienna's other friends besides just Auguste. Camila couldn't remember the last time she had gotten the opportunity to feel so incredibly normal. For the other girls, albeit maybe with the exception of Sienna, being in a mansion and having a slumber party probably wasn't close to their normal lives. Being a celebrity, Camila had had to adjust to some level of grandeur, although she wasn't from a background of any particular affluence—at least not enough that she had spent much time around opulence and wealth before she had shot to stardom.
And her day-to-day life wasn't like Auguste's mansion. He had been famous long before she had, but her apartment definitely wasn't exceptional. It was where she lived because she was working in London. It had the amenities that she needed; she certainly wasn't being left to suffer, but she didn't live in some sort of a palace. Maybe some of her fans thought that she did, but she wasn't a princess.
That didn't mean that she, Sienna, and Sienna's friends couldn't make believe that they were princesses for a night, though, and the excitement of getting to party—in the least flashy way ever, which was more Camila's speed—had only just begun to ramp up. As she got out the nail art kit, Sienna said something to Heleen about being able to use magic on nail art, at which point she giggled.
They all began to get more comfortable, and Sienna surveyed the room. "So what are we in the mood for first? A movie, snacks, giving Heleen a real challenge?" she asked them. "Whoever says snacks first wins my heart forever. What do you think, Nixie?" Sienna specifically turned to the redhead who had just properly introduced herself to Camila and batted her eyelashes at her. "Want to make my dreams come true?"
"I never say no to snacks," Nixie answered Sienna. "Though not sure nail art would last too long when I go back to work." She winked, which made Camila wonder if there was something that had gotten lost in translation, if there was a reason for Nixie's wink that she should have known.
Heleen also agreed that they should start with snacks first. Camila, for her part, certainly wasn't opposed to it, either, but Heleen had a laundry list of reasons. "Snacks always go first for a multitude of reasons," she explained to them. The first reason, she said, was that they wouldn't end up getting hungry while they were doing other things if they started with the snacks, which did make sense. The second reason was that they couldn't go wrong with candy, at which Camila giggled. The third reason was that, from what Camila understood of what Heleen was saying, doing nail art before snacks was a bad idea if they didn't want to end up ruining their nail art. The fourth reason, in short, was chocolate. The fifth and final reason, then, was that Heleen said that she would get distracted if she had to look at snacks while doing the nail art.
From there, taking the initiative to begin with snack time, Heleen went over and filled not one but two bowls at the snack table. It turned out that both of the bowls weren't for her, though. One was for her, but the other one was for Sienna. As soon as she levitated the bowl to Sienna, Heleen looked to her and to Nixie. "Do you want me to compile a bowl of heaven? If so, any preferences for what to put it in or should I make a best of with some of Sienna and my favorites."
As Heleen discussed nail art with Nixie, Camila simply waited. She did try to keep her nails looking nice, because it sort of came with the territory of being a public figure who was photographed constantly regardless of what she did or where she was. If it was for a specific public appearance or a concert, then she did have a stylist who put things together for her. She had a certain look that was—well, it was manufactured, really. But Camila knew that there wouldn't be any paparazzi or cameras there at Auguste's place, which meant that she could relax and be herself.
Camila could also take up Heleen's offer of a bowl of snacks, she knew, and she scanned the selection of what was available to them. It all looked good, truly, and she really wasn't picky about anything that she saw in front of her. "I would like some snacks, please," she told Heleen with a smile. "Anything is good." Sweets were good, as were savory things. Whatever Heleen came up with was fine by her.

If there was one thing Sienna could consistently rely on, it was that Heleen could always match her level of enthusiasm when it came to their shared interests. The moment after Si first floated the idea of starting with snacks, she instantly got interested responses from Nixie and Heleen (and Camila not too far behind), with the Dutch girl wasting no time in floating over to the snacks table to load up on candy. Sienna watched interestedly as Hel prepared a bowl for her and nodded along with her list of why snacks should always come first. “You forgot the last reason, Hel,” Si picked the levitating bowl out of the air and sighed dramatically. “Boys will come and go, but chocolate will always be there for you.” Si snorted at herself as she began to pick through the bowl of assorted Muggle and magical candies. When she found the chocolate heart she’d been looking for, she made a big show of eating it first. As Nixie and Heleen began to discuss the merits of nail art and the likelihood of it surviving their jobs, Si shifted the bowl to one hand and examined the other critically. She put a lot of effort into her appearance – Si couldn’t stand being out in public if she didn’t look put together, but the rule also applied if she was just at home. So her nails were always neat, even if she didn’t indulge in anything like Hel’s art too often. “Seems like you missed your calling as a Potioneer,” Si commented to Nixie and Heleen with a playful smile. “You might need to invest in a nose plug, but your nails will always look perfect. That’s enough for me!” Ah, the beauty of dragon-hide gloves. Most potions didn’t require it, but sometimes they were necessary for particularly sloppy or dangerous ingredients – not to mention the fact that most Potioneers were picky enough to want to pick their own whenever possible. Gus already knew that Si was a package deal with her herb garden, which unlike most gardens produced herbs not for cooking but for potions. Those plants tended to grow wild, unless you were willing to put in the time to cultivate them properly. Hence the need for thick protective gloves. The smell didn’t bother Sienna after so many years around the most unusual potions, but she knew the apothecary could be an unpleasant trip for particularly sensitive people. And speaking of her boyfriend… “Maybe I should bring Gus something. He might be hungry,” Si thought out-loud, inching off the couch slowly. It was a pretty thin excuse, since he definitely had the ability to feed himself if that was the case, especially with all the girls upstairs for the night. Sienna swore she wasn’t one of those girls that couldn’t be away from their boyfriends for too long, but that wasn’t the same thing as just a quick check-in! They spent enough time apart anyway, and surely she wouldn’t be missed for a few minutes? Just to make sure he and Philippe were doing alright – and maybe sneak a kiss before committing herself to the girls for the rest of the night. @nixie @seph camila calderón

While as a curse breaker, Nixie's job was to find and reclaim lost and ancient treasure, she was in no way rich. As most curse breakers, she did it for the adventure of it rather than the money. Being in such a fancy place was new to her. She knew that some people lived like this. But she came from a farm house out in the middle of nowhere, and that was where she returned to between jobs. This place was nicer than any house she had ever been in. Sure Hogwarts was nice, and so was Gringotts, but this was a place that someone owned and lived, just because.
The job payed well enough, but while on the job, she mainly lived off of cheap greasy food that was easy, fast and accessible. Snacks and junk food was right up her alley. The girl Heleen gave a number of good reasons why to start with the snacks then move to nail art. While compelling, Nixie didn't require any convincing. She would always chose the snacks. But the girl went on, expressing five arguments to start with snacks first. Perhaps she was the outlier, not really being into girly things like nail art. She was sure that she had never had painted nails before. Maybe once at Hogwarts if another girl in her year brought them, and painted her nails. But Nixie was more interested in the constant movement of being in an ancient tomb. She wasn't much of a princess, she was more of a knight. “Boys will come and go, but chocolate will always be there for you.” Nixie gave a laugh "Now that is something that I can get behind."
With a rock of her body, Nixie was out of her comfortable spot and moving towards the snacks. She wasn't used to being weighted on. Heleen created two bowls, though not for herself. "Do you want me to compile a bowl of heaven?" the woman had offered. "Great spread Si, do you think you got enough?" She looked at Heleen "I'd be interested to see what constitutes as a "bowl of heaven"" Though she could easily make her own, she thought that this was how she could start to integrate into the group.
The girl also at the table mentioned how the nail art rarely lasted for her too, and Nixie wondered what sort of job she had. She was sure that it was nothing like Nixies. Walls closing in, trap doors, cursed statues waiting to attack. Nixie had stuck her hand into more than one crack, not knowing what she was going to find. Mostly it was spiderwebs and hidden levers, sometimes it was treasure and ancient skeletons. "It's more about creative expression than making something people will wear for a long time." Nixie shrugged, she'd give it to the girl. If you can't beat them, join them, and all that. "Fair enough, as long as it's not too distracting." She couldn't have her colored nails pull even an ounce of attention away from the imminent danger around her.
Sienna mentioned her career as an opportunity to keep nice nails. "I think I'd rather risk being crushed by a wall than be stuck in one place" The girl couldn't stand staying in one place for too long. That was the hardest thing about school. She thought it wise not to mention some of the worst smells that she had encountered during her years at work. But Human remains were at least close to the top of that list. The girl did mention her boyfriend, and Nixie wondered if the other girls were, too, in a committed relationship? Was she the only single one?
