“Well, that’s a relief,” Si responded after taking a pause to consider what the customer said. The thing about maintaining so much secrecy over Ministry operations was that it left a lot to the imagination. So yeah, they probably didn’t force their trainees to drink poison or test any of the less-than-desirable brews that existed in the world, but you could never really know. Sienna had met a wide range of people, some of whom were convinced that the Ministry were angels and some who were convinced that the Ministry was everything wrong with the world.
She didn’t get involved much in the politics of either side – she was just a potions supplier and filled her orders to the letter. And beyond the big questions about the Ministry, she wanted its employees to be as safe as anybody else. To that end, Si selected another potion off the shelves and added it to the floating ring. Not that Mr. Auror-To-Be was liable to need to survive being set on fire anytime soon, but a flame-resistant potion was exactly the sort of thing you didn’t realize you needed until you were caught in a burning building. Coming from a non-magical background, in a situation like that Sienna would rather rely on a proven potion that on her very flammable wand.
“Alright, this seems like a good start,” Si decided as she examined every floating vial. It was a traditional starter pack, plus a little extra for those particularly hairy situations that couldn’t be predicted. “As long as you’re absolutely sure you won’t be force-fed poison anytime soon,” Si confirmed with a teasing smile.

September 2025 "Well, that's a relief," the employee admitted. Magical Interpol wasn't so cruel as to make its newest recruits drink poison for grins. They had to know how to cope with dangerous situations, but that didn't mean that they had to die trying. Zeke didn't think that that would have looked very good for them, especially when they needed to mobilize as many people as they possibly could. If someone was careless enough to consume a poison (while knowing that it was a poison) just to see what might happen, then that was different, and Zeke guessed that anyone who played around like that wouldn't last long in training—assuming that they survived to tell the story. "Alright, this seems like a good start," she indicated to him. A whole solar system of items orbiting around him was probably enough for one trip to the apothecary; Zeke had to agree with her there. "As long as you’re absolutely sure you won’t be force-fed poison anytime soon." Zeke grinned. "Yeah," he answered, watching the floating items, "I think I'm good here. I should probably check out."Sienna Aurélie Linslee OOC: Maybe one more from each of us for this one?

Si gave a nod of approval as she scanned the mix of floating and non-floating potions she’d pulled off the shelves for the customer. He wouldn’t need to make another trip to the apothecary for some time, and if he was feeling particularly entrepreneurial he could reverse-engineer any of the potions to learn how to brew it himself. For the sake of the store’s business, it was beneficial to have return customers. But, considering the fairly unstable times they lived in, Si thought it would be better if there were more wizards out there who could take care of themselves. And the beautiful thing about potions was they were always there – as opposed to oftentimes unreliable spellwork.
The customer echoed her observation that they were done here, and Si smiled at him. “Alright, Lizzie can help you check out at the counter,” Si said as she pointed out one of her fellow employees who was helping another customer wrap up a sale. She chanced a glance at her phone – she had set an alarm for one of her potions, and she still had another ten minutes before she needed to start stirring again, but it would be helpful to get visual confirmation. “Just as well, my potions are probably missing me.” Si laughed at herself, because really somebody had to, and side-stepped some floating vials. “But good luck with your training, and if you ever do manage to get yourself an enemy trying to poison you, remember Slug and Jigger’s for antidotes!”
With that, Sienna took her time to return to the back room. She never spent much time at the front, since it wasn’t really in the job description, but it was nice to see where her potions ended up and chat with the customers. That was why she was a potioneer, after all – the challenge of a new brew was all well and good, but it ultimately didn’t mean anything if it wasn’t helping anyone.

September 2025 "Alright, Lizzie can help you check out at the counter," the employee who had been helping him indicated, gesturing to another employee who was working at the register. Lizzie was currently helping another customer, but Zeke moved to stand in line, the items that he—and the employee who had been assisting him—had selected still hovering around him rather than in his hands or something slightly more conventional. "Just as well," the employee who had been helping him noted. "My potions are probably missing me," she said. "But good luck with your training, and if you ever do manage to get yourself an enemy trying to poison you, remember Slug and Jiggers for antidotes!" "Thanks!" Zeke nodded to the girl who had ensured that he would be stocked up for, well… just about anything that came his way. "Have a nice night!"Sienna Aurélie Linslee Fin!
