September 20, 2025 The chance of possibly finding real gold amongst piles of Leprechaun gold was enough to send many Hogwarts students scurrying into Hogsmeade even faster for their first trip into the village of the school year. Ensuring that the new students had their requisite permission slips was the longest part of the process, though it didn't take Parvati too long to check that all was in order. It was the most time that she had spent outside of the castle or its grounds since the start of the term, too, so she had been looking forward to it.
Groups of students had formed to find the treasure, some bickering back and forth about which way to go once they had reached the high street. Even if it might have been unlikely, there were still those who seemed certain that they would be the ones to leave Hogsmeade a pile of gold richer.
"Gentlemen," Parvati called in the direction of a group of eager third-year boys who had darted off down the cobblestones, "no running, please!" They hadn't exactly heeded her warning, she noticed as she walked on towards the Three Broomsticks, but there were still other people in the village besides the students.

But it feels like I've opened my eyes again And the colors are golden and bright again There's a song in my heart, I feel like I belong Tamara's entire life had been thrust upside down in the new year, and while she thought things would be better - they weren't. In February, she had been forced to break up with her long time boyfriend, Liam, because Elaine had threatened her entire family. She had done it without thought, and it had destroyed her. That destruction led to her leaving behind London a few days later. She was supposed to return sooner, but Hag's Fever had quickly destroyed all thought of returning home, trapped in Rome. Not that she minded, more time away led to more thought - and eventually resulted in her chopping off all her hair, or rather, most of it. She had returned the minute she was allowed to, coming back to an empty apartment. She decided to get back into work and her life, to move on from the darkness that had come from Elaine's threat and her break up with Liam. That is what led her to Hogsmeade on September 20th; a little event was happening there that she decided she wanted to enjoy, maybe even write about for the paper. She found herself wandering around when she took note of the mass of Hogwart's students running around. At that moment, she wondered who had gotten the glorious task of watching over them, and it didn't take long to get an answer. She drew closer to the older woman, one that was warning a group of young students, possibly third-years from the looks of them. "Madam Macmillan?" she said, her tone slightly questioning in hopes that she hadn't mistaken her for someone else, and also in attempts to get her attention. The woman had been a counselor at Hogwarts that she had frequented her office after her brother's death and then Ethan's. She wondered if she remembered her...or if she'd know which twin she was if she did. MADE BY VEL OF GS

September 20, 2025 "Madam Macmillan?"
Parvati knew that she recognized the voice of the person who had just spoken to her and briefly wondered if a student needed her for something. Quickly, though, she saw that it was one of the Finch twins, her hair now cut shorter than it had been when they were still students at Hogwarts. Wanting to keep from mistaking one of the twins for the other—especially when the Finch girl had had no trouble figuring out that she wasn't Padma—Parvati paused for a moment after she was addressed.
"Oh, hi, Tamara," she smiled. She couldn't recall how long it had been since they had last seen each other. It had been a while, though Tamara had come to her office often once she had started working at Hogwarts, considering that Ethan Johnson had been her boyfriend. "How are you?"

But it feels like I've opened my eyes again And the colors are golden and bright again There's a song in my heart, I feel like I belong From the older woman's look, she recognized Tamara, though it took her a few seconds of pause to finally let it click. Either she had assumed she was another one of her students, or she was trying to figure out which twin was standing before her. It probably didn't help that Tamara had decided to chop most of her hair off, bringing it up to her shoulders instead of the middle of her back. She had always had love hair while at Hogwarts, usually pulled back into a ponytail or left down in mermaid waves. Tamara smiled brightly, nodding her head as if confirming to the woman that she had gotten the correct twin. "I'm good, yourself?" she questioned. MADE BY VEL OF GS

September 20, 2025 Tamara smiled and nodded, which meant that Parvati had been correct on the first try. She would have felt terrible if she had been mistaken and in need of correction, but that luckily hadn't happened. "I'm good, yourself?"
It had been a nightmare of a summer, so Parvati knew that she would have had enough reason for mixing up Tamara's name with Tia's, but explaining that to her would have been awful. She was still called the wrong name frequently enough that she did occasionally respond to "Padma" as well, but that was the nature of having an identical twin with a similar enough name.
"I'm doing well, thanks," Parvati replied to her. Though she was still working through a lot of things, she was in a much better place than she had been in June and July, in particular. "Are you here for the scavenger hunt?"

But it feels like I've opened my eyes again And the colors are golden and bright again There's a song in my heart, I feel like I belong Having a twin had its pros and cons, though most of the pros were enjoyed in the youth. She still remembered being a young girl, switching with her sister, and attempting to fool their parents. They had exceeded more times than none, but sometimes Tia's way of doing things in Tamara's shoes resulted in Tamara getting in trouble. A few mishaps in the kitchen were one of many things that Tia had gotten her in trouble for. Looking back at it, it had been a spot of fun - but at the moment, Tamara had hated getting in trouble. Maybe she was a goody-to-shoes, or maybe she just enjoyed being on the best side of her parents. Getting in trouble had never been her forte. Tamara had always excelled in her studies and extracurricular activities, both at school and at home. Tia had once pointed out that the Tamara was the best of them all. Tamara, of course, knew that Tia was jealous - there was a good side and a bad side. But like she said, there were many pros and cons - and one of the cons was being mistaken for her sister. It hadn't happened much at school, seeing as they were in different houses - but catch them without a uniform, and it was almost impossible. But Parvati had figured it out rather quickly, calling her by the correct name. She wondered if it had to do with her constantly being in her office after her brother died, or maybe she simply took a shot in the dark. The brunette didn't care much; she had grown used to correcting people. Though, her time in Rome had brought a new sense of identity - especially since she wasn't getting confused for her twin. But maybe being called Tia would be flattery. 'I'm doing well, thanks. Are you here for the scavenger hunt?' Tamara nodded her head, brushing a strand of short-brunette hair behind her ear. "Sort of, I thought it might make a nice topic for the Prophet. So I'm working a bit, but I might participate. Are you going to? Or are you only here to make sure the kids don't get in trouble?" she questioned, a laugh leaving her lips. MADE BY VEL OF GS

September 20, 2025 Tamara answered her that she was "sort of" there for the special event. She explained that she thought that it might make for a nice topic for the Daily Prophet, for which she was apparently working. She added that she might participate, though. "Are you going to?" she asked, laughing a little. "Or are you only here to make sure the kids don't get in trouble?"
Parvati, mildly amused by the thought that she would be among those racing around Hogsmeade in search of a pile of gold among the comparatively useless leprechaun gold, laughed and shook her head. "No," she replied to Tamara with a smile. "No, I'm not participating." Maybe it would have been different if she were two or three decades younger, but the most she assumed that she would be likely to get out of it at her age would be a sprained ankle. "I'm really only here to make sure that none of the students do anything that they shouldn't be doing." The temptation to run all over was strong, Parvati supposed, when there was a prize at stake, and providing enough supervision was probably easier said than done.
"Covering the event for the Prophet does sound nice, though," she encouraged Tamara. Having worked for Witch Weekly, she knew the importance of timely coverage. "And, of course, if anyone actually finds the real gold…" Someone probably would, though leprechaun gold was incredibly difficult to distinguish from real gold, so no one would find out for an hour or two—enough time for the leprechaun gold to vanish. For the sake of maintaining order in the castle later that day, Parvati secretly hoped that the winner wouldn't be a Hogwarts student, but that was out of her control.

I'm really only here to make sure that none of the students do anything that they shouldn't be doing.' A light laugh left the brunette's lips as she nodded her head; Hogwarts kids did like to get into trouble. Her entire year, plus those below and before, were definitely filled with troublemakers; it seemed each term had a small handful of them. She nodded her head, "Yes. I'm sure finding real gold will be a pretty big header for the Prophet." Since coming back to work, though she had worked remotely from where she was trapped because of Hag's Fever, she needed something - anything - to get her back in the groove of things. And this was the perfect one. "Think it'll be a student?" she questioned, curious to see the answer. If it was a Hogwarts student that was the winner, and everyone else got leprechaun gold, she was sure hell would break loose within the castle walls. Did they even have a protocol for when things like that happened? MADE BY VEL OF GS

September 30, 2025 Tamara expressed her certainty that finding real gold would make for a big headline for the Daily Prophet. Anyone would be lucky to find that, given the monetary value of such a thing, thought Parvati, though she paused when Tamara asked her if she thought that it would be a student who would get it in the end.
"Possibly," Parvati considered. Since so many students had run off in search of it, it was impossible to rule it out. "Don't quote this, please, but I don't know what I'd do," she added amusedly, "if a Hogwarts student were to win. Obviously, the staff would need to step in, mostly because we can't exactly have a student walking around the castle with that amount of gold…"

If a student did win, would the gold be sent home to their parent or guardian?" The brunette was only curious; it was the reporter nature within her. But she would never go against a wish to be off the record, not that she was willing this conversation for the paper. September 30, 2025 "This entire conversation was never on the record, so don't worry about that," Tamara told her about the possibility that she might be quoted for a piece in the newspaper on the subject. "If a student did win," she added, though, "would the gold be sent home to their parent or guardian?"
It was a good question. "I would assume it would?" Parvati answered her. "If the student is under seventeen, at least, it would make the most sense." She couldn't imagine that many parents would look favorably upon entrusting their, say, thirteen-year-old with an excessive amount of gold. "Either that," Parvati supposed, "or sending it straight to Gringotts." That was the other option that struck her as being the most realistic, especially if it were a Muggle-born student who emerged as the winner or some situation like that. There was always the chance that a student's guardian might try to claim the gold as their own, too. Not all of the students' families were like that, but Parvati couldn't say that it would surprise her if someone were to try something underhanded.
