The girl followed Fiona to the attraction. As she went closer to the forest, Fiona felt a little more at home. Fiona noted the sign, asking for each person to keep their wand outside. She liked the idea, though she felt like she shouldn't have to. Though, it was a rule, and she wasn't one to break the rules. But the sign did say "wand" not magical conduit. But she was out of her element, and she didn't want to put a bad name to the Druids. She would behave, in this regard.
Like the girl next to her, Fiona pulled out her wand, and also handed over a panflute. The student checking in the items looked a bit confused. The girl smiled "Take good care of them" It was as much a request as a passive aggressive threat.
With that, she looked at the entrance, wondering what beasts they had inside.

October 18, 2025 Fiona, too, handed over her wand—and also some sort of wooden flute—before they entered the forest attraction. While the instrument obviously wasn't a wand, Kaylee wondered if perhaps Fiona had simply decided to hand it over for safekeeping. "Take good care of them," she mentioned to the student volunteer, though, which made Kaylee think that there must have been more about the flute than met the eye in order for Fiona to feel that she needed to part ways with it temporarily.
Kaylee looked to the entrance, as she noticed that Fiona was also doing. "Alright. Should we go in?" Kaylee suggested to her, hearing the noises of various creatures from farther into the trees of the haunted forest. She took a few steps forward, not wanting to run in and startle anything that was being housed there. She also didn't want to be unnecessarily startled, herself.

After handing over her magical conduits, Fiona and the girl looked at the entrance. "Alright. Should we go in?" She smiled at Kaylee "I think we should" She agreed.
The girl moved towards the entrance, cautiously. Fiona wondered if it was because she was preparing to be frightened. Fiona entered, as if she was walking into her own home. The forest was dark, but did feel comfortable.
There was a clear path, and Fiona could hear the sounds of creatures, and a scared but playful noises from others who were also in the forest. The first creature that was meant to scare the two was a beautiful hippogriff prepared for it's trained movement, but the moment Fiona and it locked eyes, it calmed down. Fiona gave a small bow, and the creature did the same. Fiona approached and stroked the beak of the creature "Hello there beautiful" She cooed in her native tongue. After the interaction, she backed up and smiled at the girl. "I told you there wouldn't be any scares."

October 18, 2025 She and Fiona entered the supposedly haunted forest, although most of the "haunted" part seemed to be up ahead of them. Kaylee could hear more noises of what sounded like various creatures—and occasionally other people's reactions to them—but Fiona seemed completely unbothered by it. While Kaylee knew that there was nothing that would hurt her in there (not unless Hogwarts wanted to deal with that liability), it must have been set up to be pretty frightening if they weren't permitted to have their wands with them.
The first creature that they came across on the path through the forest was a Hippogriff, and Kaylee knew to keep her distance from it and to bow to it if she were to approach. Hippogriffs were particular, as magical creatures went, and there was a certain form of etiquette that had to be kept in mind when dealing with them. Being around so many magical creatures all the time on Hy-Brasil must have made Fiona attuned to the ways in which they behaved, though, because she had already managed to bow to it and calm it down before it could do anything to scare them.
With the Hippogriff relaxed, Kaylee watched in awe as Fiona approached it and stroked its beak. She had gained its trust in no time at all, and she spoke to it in a language that Kaylee didn't immediately recognize.
A moment later, Fiona had backed away from the Hippogriff again, and she turned to look at her. "I told you there wouldn't be any scares," she smiled, and she was, amazingly, right about that.
"Wow…" Kaylee breathed out softly, looking to Fiona. She wasn't sure how she had done it, but it was amazing to see how effortless it was for her. "How did you…?"

Fiona's favorite place on the entire planet was home. At times, she felt like she spent more time in the forest or on the mountain than anywhere else on Hy-Brasil. This forest, in a small way, reminded her of the forest at home. Though the trees and other plants were off, the creatures was where it hit right. Here right now, with a creature to hold and a forest surrounding her, Fiona felt at home once again. It wasn't like she cuddled with every creature back home, but she could tell when they needed it. She did things her own ways. The girl had been playing in dragon nests since she could reach the nests themselves.
She knew that she couldn't stay there for too long. She had a new friend that she was with, and it was rude to make the girl wait too long. Fiona's smile grew wider as the girl expressed her amazement at what she had done. "How did you…?" This was a reaction that many first time tourists had when they came to the island. Her and her sister had pulled many tricks on them. The craziest being the "help, that dragon is eating my sister" one. "Druids are naturally close to all nature. Especially creatures. We work and live side by side all magical creatures"

Kaylee had never seen or heard of a Hippogriff who was that receptive to a person before, not that she had seen very many Hippogriffs in her life at all. They were absolutely majestic creatures, though; she knew that for certain, and she was careful not to agitate the beast after Fiona had been so gentle with it.
"Druids are naturally close to all nature," Fiona answered her. "Especially creatures. We work and live side by side all magical creatures."
"Merlin, that's so cool," Kaylee grinned. Ensuring that magical creatures and the land in general were cared for was important to her (and to her culture as a Hawaiian), but she didn't have any particular gifts where creatures were concerned. She knew, of course, that there were people who shared certain true affinities for different creatures—or could even speak their language, as Parselmouths with snakes—but being in tune with all of them somehow was fascinating to her.
"It's okay for us to go past it, right?" she confirmed with Fiona about the Hippogriff. "It's not going to… get upset that you're leaving it or anything, right?"

Fiona reveled in the amazement of non Druids. No matter where she was. They always seemed so shocked at how close the Druid people were with nature. But for Fiona, interacting with this Hippogriff was just apart of normal life. Just like playing with nifflers, dragons and griffins. Not to even mention the Pogrebin infestation that she and her sister started at their family farm.
"It's okay for us to go past it, right?" The girl seemed genuinely concerned about this. "It's not going to… get upset that you're leaving it or anything, right?" Fiona laughed, hard. "No." She studied herself "Have you seen animals, magical or non magical, interact with each other? Everything has a balance, and everything fits? But then a person comes up and the creatures act differently? Well, to creatures, Druids are just other creatures, not people" She wasn't the best at explaining it. But she knew the feeling. She was one with nature.
She moved a little past, smiling from the creature to the girl.

October 18, 2025 Fiona laughed at her concern about what the Hippogriff was going do once they walked away from it and on to the next creature in the forest. "No," she answered, and then she asked her if she had ever seen animals—magical or non-magical—interact with each other. Kaylee nodded; of course she had. "Everything has a balance, and everything fits? But then a person comes up and the creatures act differently? Well, to creatures, Druids are just other creatures, not people."
Understanding the point that Fiona was trying to make, Kaylee nodded again and smiled a little more. Druids seemed to have much more concern for magical creatures than most other people, which was a positive thing. Too many people didn't care at all about them; they just remained indifferent. Or they were truly terrified of them, as the haunted forest likely reinforced.
As Fiona moved forward, Kaylee followed her and took care not to make any sudden movements that might spook the Hippogriff. If a Hippogriff had been just the first creature they had come across, she wondered what would be next.

Fiona's personal philosophy was one of balance. She never truly understood why people found it so hard to believe, but she felt it in her entire soul. The girl seemed to understand, though Fiona still felt like she had explained it weird. It was difficult to fully put to words.
The girl continued confidently, wishing she wasn't wearing shoes. Thinking of perhaps taking them off the girls continued down the path. There were a number of creatures that all seemed calm as Fiona walked past. She stopped near a thestral, whom she assumed not many people would see. She felt a familiar feeling of doom and dread. She laughed and started to look around "I think they put a pogerbin in here." She said softly, but excited. Looking at the girl "Do you see a rock, about this big?" She showed the size with her hands. And she continued to look around.

October 18, 2025 From the context of what she could see, Kaylee assumed that a Thestral or something else invisible to her must have been what Fiona had been drawn to as they continued on. Supposedly, Kaylee knew, the Thestrals looked sort of like skeletal horses. Kaylee considered herself lucky that she couldn't see Thestrals, though it was always a little bit strange for her to realize how many of her peers could see them. It made her wonder if maybe Fiona could see them, too, which was sort of a sad thought, or if she just knew that it was there because she was a Druid.
Fiona was still relatively happy, though, and she started to laugh. She mentioned that she thought that they had put a Pogrebin in there, and Kaylee—although she had heard the name—wasn't completely sure that she would recognize one if she saw it. "Do you see a rock, about this big?" Fiona asked her.
Kaylee, wondering why in the world the Druid girl was asking her if she saw a rock when they were looking for a Pogrebin, was puzzled, but she began to look around for one anyway—only realizing that the rock probably had something to do with the Pogrebin after a few moments of searching. "Oh! I think there's one there," she pointed out, keeping her voice lower than usual so that she wouldn't startle any Pogrebins. "Just behind you and to your left a little bit?"

Fiona could see Thestrals. Their island was a tight knit, and while her and her sister were considered trouble makers. They had been to many funerals. They had also many relatives get old. And many of them wanted to pass on knowledge and advice that they had earned over the years. Fiona had been there when some had passed. It wasn't anything strange, at least to her. Death was just apart of the path all of them took. Honestly, she didn't even connect the creatures with the sight of death, like so many did. In her mind, they were beautiful creatures.
Fiona did note the clear lack of enthusiasm the other girl had at the news of a pogerbin in the area. Did they really not know what Pogerbins were outside of Hy-Brasil? What was Hogwarts teaching their students? Nonetheless, the girls, once again, stopped their forward progression. All in search of a rock. Fiona looked in the opposite direction as the girl, to cover more ground. She had experience hunting for the creatures, but it was Kaylee who found it.
Fiona turned at the girls words and smiled. "Just behind you and to your left a little bit?" She swirled around according to the other girls directions. Fiona crouched down to look at the rock. "This is it." She picked it up and cradled it's couched body in her arms. The creature looked truly confused as Fiona smiled at it. Looking back at the girl Fiona explained "Me and my sister brought two home with us one day a few years ago. We though they would make great friends." She showed the creature to Kaylee "Who would have thought they would have bread. We released them from our room once we figured that someone would catch us." Laughing at the memory, Fiona wasn't sure how the girl would take it "Now there's an infestation. Not sure if anyone figured it was us." Her impish smile remained as she scratched the creature in her arms. She knew where they liked it.

October 18, 2025 Fiona crouched down at the rock that she had pointed out to her and mentioned that that was it. Kaylee knew that that was definitely a rock, so she wasn't sure what Fiona was pointing that part out for. There were rocks everywhere. Maybe not all of the rocks were of the size that she had indicated that she was looking for, but there wasn't anything particular about that rock, was there?
Or that was what Kaylee had thought. What Fiona had picked up was definitely not a rock and looked more like a small, not completely humanoid rock-like… thing. And it wasn't smooth or jagged like a rock might have been; it was hairy.
"Me and my sister brought two home with us one day a few years ago. We though they would make great friends," Fiona recalled. Looking at it now, as Fiona showed it off to her while it was cradled in her arms like a baby, it did look sort of cute. "Cuddly" probably wasn't the word that Kaylee would have gone for, but there was something kind of… likeable about it. "Who would have thought they would have bread. We released them from our room once we figured that someone would catch us."
Bread? Pogrebins ate bread? They didn't have those back home, thought Kaylee. They had your typical garden gnomes and things like that, but that was as close as they got.
"Now there's an infestation," Fiona added. "Not sure if anyone figured it was us."
That was actually pretty funny, and Kaylee supposed that it didn't really matter if there had been an infestation of Pogrebins if they were relatively harmless. Remembering how easily Fiona had handled even a Hippogriff, though, Kaylee wasn't sure that a Pogrebin wouldn't hurt her if she were to try to tickle it like Fiona was doing. "I mean, it's cute, I guess? I don't think I've ever actually seen a Pogrebin before," Kaylee admitted, questioning if maybe she was just ignorant. If Fiona hadn't known what it was, she would have walked right on by.

Growing up surrounded by magical flora and fauna brought a much different perspective. Those creatures and plants were the thing that she knew by heart. Fiona also knew many non magical animals. But only could say that she had seen them by the many animagus forms that her fellow Hy-Brasil inhabitants took. She was constantly encompassed by magic and nature changed your perspective on things.
"I mean, it's cute, I guess? I don't think I've ever actually seen a Pogerbin before," Fiona wasn't surprised. "Well, they are on Hy-Brasil, but they are also indigenous to area's around Russia." She knew some geography. "Do you feel that slight weight of doom and despair?" It wouldn't have been exceptionally strong at this point. "These little creatures project that on their targets. They will then follow them, and the feeling would increase. Over the span of a few hours the feeling will practically consume the person." She smiled, knowing that not many people knew about these creatures. And perhaps because of their size or look, they would bee thought of as harmless "When the person finally falls down, to give up, they will attempt to eat them" She gave a giggle. They were little over achievers. But they weren't even considered to be dangerous creatures, according to the Ministry of Magic.
It was true, more than ever, that druids had not just a different mindset, but seemed to also have a different knowledge set as well. She took a step closer to the girl. "Do you want to touch him?"

October 18, 2025 Fiona clarified that, while Pogrebins lived on Hy-Brasil, they were actually indigenous to areas around Russia. That explained why she had never seen one for herself, Kaylee thought. The closest that she had gotten to Russia (or even Hy-Brasil) was probably where she was standing at that very moment. She hadn't been to either place, though it wasn't that she didn't have a desire to visit them; her family just didn't have the kind of money to spend on sending her around the world.
"Do you feel that slight weight of doom and despair?" Fiona questioned her, seemingly out of nowhere.
At first, Kaylee wasn't sure what Fiona meant by that. They were in a "haunted" forest attraction; of course there were bound to be some feelings of uneasiness along with it. Fiona explained to her, however, that it wasn't just the forest. It was actually the Pogrebin, she said, that was projecting it—onto its "target", to use the term that Fiona had used. Pogrebins then followed their targets, she added, and sent them into despair over the course of several hours. Fiona, though, remained relatively cheerful about it. "When the person finally falls down, to give up, they will attempt to eat them," she laughed.
Kaylee didn't think that it looked that dangerous, though she knew that some magical creatures' looks were intentionally deceiving. Fiona—who was still holding the Pogrebin as though she hadn't just mentioned how vicious it was—took a step closer to her with it. "Do you want to touch him?" she asked her.
Did she want to touch a creature that might have tried to eat her otherwise? It was a strange question, but Kaylee didn't think it through too much and replied to Fiona. "Sure." How many other opportunities would she have to touch something that was theoretically capable of killing her without its attempting to harm her in the slightest? Although she was a little bit wary of it initially, she reached out a hand to touch the Pogrebin gently on the back of its head. She was surprised to find that it was actually really soft, but she made sure not to touch it for too long. She didn't want the Pogrebin to think that she was going to be its next snack.

Fiona loved being surrounded my magical plants and animals. She had also made a point to learn a lot about them during their lessons. She also felt like having knowledge of magical flora and fauna was important to her as a druid to have. She had learned a few years ago, when she went to Hogwarts for her OWLs, how little others knew about the magical nature. With her background on Pogerbins, she knew the feeling that she spoke about very well. In fact, she and her sister had lived with that constant feeling for a number of years while they hid their infestation in their room. It was one that she had become very familiar with. She had also become quite desensitized to the strengthening of the feeling. Fiona was also well aware that no magical creature would ever try to eat her. If they had wanted to, she would have been dead long before.
To her, the idea that such a small creature could be so overambitious was very funny. She held the creature like a baby, and it didn't seem too pleased about it, though it didn't appose to he rubbing or the cooing that she gave it. These poor creatures had a bad wrap, and were often, literally, kicked away. Fiona asked the girl if she wanted to touch the creature. Unlike the Hippogriff who, as a noble bread, were incredibly picky on who approached them, there was little that this little one could do while she held it.
Fiona mentioned touching the creature, and the girl seemed hesitant. Though the druid was impressed that the girl did reach out her hand and touch it's head. The encounter wasn't long but she smiled nonetheless. After a short time, the pogerbin seemed to decide that it was done with being held. With a little chuckle Fiona turned and put the creature down "There you are little one. Go do your job" She faced the creature away, off to where they had been. She turned to the girl again "Aside from the non magical trees, and the creatures being trained, it's almost something like home" She remarked. It was more like a ultra cheap knock off of the real thing.
