Trophy Room
Claire Evangeline Slater
Rhys sighed heavily as he stood in the entrance of the room, the trophy room. Almost the worst place to be spending a detention. He crossed his arms and internally despaired slightly at all the items that needed to be cleaned--manually. That meant no magic, none at all. Rhys wasn't a stranger to detention but the Seventh year but it hardly how he wanted to spend his Friday night especially when he had NEWTS to study for. The Slytherin student loosened his tie and rolled it up to stick in his pants pocket and rolled up his sleeves, he wanted to get started but he did not want to end up doing more work than he needed. Where is she? By "she" he referred to the reason he was in detention. Rhys sighed again, it had been a totally avoidable incident--well, considering the parties involved it probably wasn't.
The Gryffindor girl could be as uptight as she was intelligent but Rhys had become friendly with her through their shared courses and he had helped her with some homework as well. While the Slytherin waited he ran his fingers through his curly hair, this was the style of the year and he figured he would wait until he had graduated to cut it. Rhys slowly paced the trophy room and skimmed over the various school awards, achievements, Quidditch and saw some that were rewarded centuries previously. Again, he sighed--it hurt still to know that despite whatever he did here at Hogwarts his name prevented all the glory that came with it. It didn't matter what grades he got, what clubs he was in nor how many OWLs and NEWTs he achieved.
That reminded me of the incident this past Monday, he and Claire had disagreed about a particular rune in class and he was exhausted from the full moon over the weekend and his usual composure had slipped and she had been so riled up he had just argued for the sake of arguing and their disruption had cost them a detention. Rhys wouldn't take the blame easily though, she was the one who got upset first.
