Sav sighed, listening to his mother talk about the press and what everyone would think about the situation that they were in. He couldn’t help but think that he didn’t care. He knew Ana’s family was in the spotlight now more than usual, and he had just joined a famous quidditch team. Not to mention that Ana was still playing football on a muggle team. Sure, people were going to talk. But at the end of the day. He wasn't sure what they had to say mattered. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t really care if anyone understands.” that was a lot more like Sav. Brash and to the point. “This is my life and my family and I don’t care to change anything to make anyone comfortable.” he shrugged. Of course he didn’t mean those directly involved, but extended family and press, they could shove off for all her cared. “People would talk no matter what, whether there was a true scandal or not, they’d infer. So forgive me if I’ve learned to ignore the press over the past few years…” he didn’t mean to make his mother feel bad by this, but he realized he may have. It was true, their family name was plastered everywhere for a while when the scandal finally broke. Life moved on.

Early November 2025 "I don't mean to be rude, but I don't really care if anyone understands. This is my life and my family," Sav reminded her firmly, "and I don't care to change anything to make anyone comfortable."
Merlin, thought Parvati; it was shades of every conversation that she had ever had with her own mother about her marriage, except she was the one reminding him that people talked. The media could be absolutely ruthless. She'd worked for Witch Weekly. There was always some gossip, and she knew how far it could be taken. She sighed.
Sav understood it, too. "People would talk no matter what, whether there was a true scandal or not, they'd infer. So forgive me if I've learned to ignore the press over the past few years…"
"I know, Sav. It's sh*t," Parvati admitted. She wasn't someone who cursed very frequently, and she had always tried not to let expletives slip out around him and Shreya. But she got it. It wasn't fun to have strangers intruding on things in which they had no business being involved. "I want you to be able to enjoy family life," she insisted. Whatever that might have looked like for him with the arrangement that he had, she wanted him to be able to avoid all of the public pressure. On the bright side, at least the Krums had enough influence at the moment that—between the Quidditch world and at least some of the media—they could probably keep the attention off and away from everything. That was assuming, of course, that they would be supportive of Ana…
"When you tell Viktor and Elena," Parvati added gently, "let them know that you've got my full support." There was a chance that it wouldn't be such a bitter pill to swallow if they knew that there was another parent who was standing with them. Any little helped, and they didn't need the possibility of having three families at odds. "It's your life," she acknowledged, "but that doesn't mean that I don't want to be in it. You know that, don't you?"

Sav didn’t even care if there was public pressure on his life. He had felt the pressure before and still managed to maintain his life and his friends in spite of it. Sav wasn’t one to bend under pressure. He was strong, physically more than emotionally, he knew, but either way, he would be strong for his family now. They needed him to be. Ana and the baby and Kat did. And he’d be there for them. “It’s not like this was an affair, I’m not making the same mistake he made.” Sav defended himself, not that he really needed to. But he almost felt like he had to. “I plan on being there for my family and being a good father to this child.” he added.
Sav nodded when she mentioned them telling the Krums that they had her support. Sav tried to force himself to appreciate the comment, but it almost felt as if she was giving him her permission and he felt like a child again, which upset him. He didn’t need her support. He didn’t need their support. But, he knew it would be good to have, so he took a breath before responding again “Of course you’ll be involved, as any grandparent would.” Sav didn’t have a lot of contact with his grandparents on either side, but he wanted his child to know where they came from. “So.” he smirked, leaning back in the chair a bit. “How does it feel being a grandma in your 40’s?” he teased, trying to lighten the mood a little in a very Sav way.

Early November 2025 "It's not like this was an affair," Sav stated. Parvati knew that, but it was admittedly challenging to understand how the dynamic of three people in a relationship like that would have worked harmoniously. She had to trust that they would make it work and that they wouldn't fall into some of the same issues that her own marriage had, and Sav's words at least helped to reduce some of those fears. "I plan on being there for my family and being a good father to this child," he told her, which was all that she could really ask of him. It wasn't just the feelings of two young women on the line. There was also her grandchild, which raised the stakes and made her feel ancient.
"Of course you’ll be involved, as any grandparent would," Sav told her. The word itself was still something that she wasn't used to hearing used in reference to herself, though it was surreal to hear Sav repeating it. None of this conversation was hypothetical, or about what she might someday be like as a grandparent. He was really having a child, and she had about thirty weeks to prepare herself.
"So," Sav then smirked at her. "How does it feel being a grandma in your forties?"
Parvati shook her head. "Merlin's beard, I still haven't…" It was something else, but it was also a milestone that she knew that some of her friends would never get to see, and that weighed on her heart, too. "I remember when I was pregnant with you and Shreya, and that still feels like it was yesterday," she told him, knowing that it was a feeling that he would be able to understand someday, years into the future. She could feel herself getting misty-eyed and moved her hand in front of her eyes as though attempting to dry the tears by blowing a little bit of air into them would actually work. "Finding out that I was going to have twins, knowing how close I am to your Aunt Padma…" Though choked up at the memory of it, she smiled. "I—I just…" It was special. "I… love you and your sister so much, and I can't say that I'm… ready to be a grandmother yet, but I know you, and you're—You're going to be the best dad."

At least she stopped talking about the drama of it all. As if he didn’t know there would be drama. He seemed to have distracted her enough by asking her how she felt about being a grandmother. She didn’t seem pleased, but he couldn’t really say he was expecting her to be. However, it did make him happy that at least she wasn’t overly disappointed. While it had been an accident Sav felt something in him change when he found out. He wanted to make the best of it. He didn’t want the child growing up knowing they were an accident and unwanted at the time of their conception. “Let’s hope I don’t have twins.” he joked, watching his mom wipe the tears out of her eyes. He wanted to keep the situation light, but he didn’t suspect it would get much lighter. It was a heavy topic, he knew that. “If it helps, none of us were really ready, but now we can all prepare together.” he suggested. She said that he was going to be a great dad and his smile softened. It almost felt a little more real hearing that from his own mother. “Thanks mom. I’m definitely going to try.”
