October 2025 It was a Saturday morning, and Scorpius had taken the opportunity to go into Diagon Alley to run a few errands that he couldn't get done during the week because of work. He didn't have anything very exciting planned; he just needed to pick up a few things, and he didn't want to make one of his parents go and buy things for him.
Diagon Alley was reasonably busy. He'd seen it more crowded, but the weather was decent enough that there was a steady stream of people about the street. Just ahead of him was a young woman about his own age who seemed to have her hands full. As she readjusted what she was carrying, a piece of parchment fell from her grasp and down to the pavement, where Scorpius instinctively grabbed it before it could be blown away or stepped upon.
"Miss? I think you've dropped something." He raised his voice a little in order to get her attention. If it was something important that she'd dropped, he didn't want her to end up walking away without it.

Today wasn't the prettiest of days in terms of chores. Rey had been shopping and had purchased far too much. She didn't want to rely too heavily on her magic with how exhausted she was considering she didn't want her stuff flying about and hitting strangers in the head. That being dead, this was a nightmare. She had too much to carry and to top it off she apparently had dropped something. She glanced back as the platinum blonde held it out for her. She groaned in total exasperation before giving him a polite smile. "I'm sorry and thank you so much. I need more days off so I actually don't end up like this." She didn't really want to bother him, but she did want to express her gratitude. She shifted half her stuff to free one hand and then levitated her things above her so she could accept the note from him. She quickly glanced. Well it wouldn't have been nice to lose that specific piece of paper. It included work related shopping and she needed the receipt for declaration purposes. She gave a quick sigh of relief. "Thank you so much, you saved me quite a hasstle." She said as she put the piece of paper in her wallet. It was best not to lose it again after all. scorpius hyperion malfoy

October 2025 Scorpius had been in the same situation before, as he imagined that most people had at some point in their lives, if not more like once every few weeks. It was awkward to end up carrying more than one could really hold without losing one's grip, but it happened. There were spells that made carrying things easier, true, but it didn't always happen that simply.
The embarrassment of the situation was hopefully short-lived, though the girl who had dropped the paper groaned a little as he handed it back to her. She apologized to him for the inconvenience and thanked him. "I'm sorry and thank you so much," she said. "I need more days off so I actually don't end up like this."
Supposing that it could have been worse, Scorpius nodded, tempted to apologize to her for having had to interrupt her so that he could give her back whatever it was that she had dropped. It was easy enough to end up in a loop of apologizing back and forth, though, and he resisted the urge. That would only make it more awkward, and the young woman had enough in her arms that she must have been busy. He didn't need to keep her from what she had to do for the day.
Luckily, the young woman managed to cast a charm to levitate what she was carrying so that she could take the parchment back from him. He checked for a moment to make sure that the enchantment would hold and that all of what had been in her arms wouldn't come crashing to the ground a moment later, but it stayed put.
The young woman sighed and thanked him again, explaining that she had been saved from a hassle because of him, but it really wasn't a problem. Scorpius wouldn't have thought twice about it, though, and he nodded his head and gave an awkward sort of half-smile before replying.
"Yeah," he assured her, "it's nothing." Then, he looked everything that she had levitated and paused. "Do you, er… Do you want some help there?"

The kind stranger offered up his help, which was very nice. She smiled slightly. "Yeah that would be wonderful. You don't mind?" She didn't really want to be a bother to him but she figured that he wouldn't have offered if he wasn't willing to help. She knew that sometimes people only offered for the sake of being polite but it personally wasn't really her style. She didn't lie (only twist the truth a little bit from time to time) but that also included not offering help if she wasn't willing to give it. She realised a lot of people held up a very different kind of morality and she didn't mind. It made the world confusing at times but at least she kept her order in the world of chaos. She looked at the boy a little closer again, thinking she knew him from school. He looked familiar, although she figured they must not have interacted a lot during their school days. He'd probably been in both a different house and a different year. Yet with the hair and a little thought she figured she possibly knew who he was. "Wait... you're Scorpius Malfoy right? I think you were the year above me in school." She said then. There was no harsh note in her voice. She hated the idea of people being judged for her parents since that would make her a cheat by default so she tried to place him outside of the legacy his family had built for him. "Shreya MacMillan. My mom started working at school at some point?" She wasn't going to start of saying she hated every second of it, but that was the thing most on her mind in the moment. She wasn't happy with it and still wasn't particularly happy about the fact that had happened. scorpius hyperion malfoy

October 2025 "Yeah," the girl smiled at him, "that would be wonderful. You don't mind?"
Scorpius didn't mind taking time out of his day to help. He didn't really know what he was supposed to say or do otherwise. Apologizing for the fact that she had a bunch of stuff in her hands but claiming that he couldn't really do much about it was a way out of assisting the girl, sure, but he knew that it would have been rude of him to take that approach. Besides, he didn't have his hands full, and what trouble was it to levitate a few things for her? "Not a problem," he insisted, and he was just about to help her with her things when she spoke.
"Wait…" Scorpius paused in the process of getting his wand out. She wasn't asking him to wait in terms of his offer of help to her, though, it dawned on him; she was asking if he was Scorpius Malfoy, because she thought that he had been in the year above her in school.
He was Scorpius Malfoy, Scorpius thought; he couldn't deny that, and it was probably likely that she had been in the year below him. The students who had just graduated from Hogwarts at the beginning of the summer had started working by that point, a number of them as Ministry interns as he had done. What was interesting is that she didn't seem to mind that he was Scorpius Malfoy. She had placed no awkward emphasis on the "Malfoy" part of his name, in the way that some people did when it came up in conversation. It was a minor detail, perhaps, but it wasn't insignificant to him.
The girl, as she introduced herself to him, was Shreya Macmillan. As in Madam Macmillan's daughter, Scorpius supposed, right about the same time as she mentioned that her mother had started working at the school at some point. "Yeah," he nodded, knowing that the Macmillan name also held significance for Dusti Flint, who was one of his closest friends from school. He didn't want to make Shreya uncomfortable by bringing up any of that, especially when he didn't think that Dusti (or Rusti) was very enthusiastic about the whole thing. "Yeah, of course." He got out his wand as he spoke, ready to levitate some of what Shreya was carrying so that it wouldn't be so much for her to handle. "I'll just… levitate some of the ones on top and follow you, then?"
