Skipping meals wasn't uncommon for Thursday, and being at Hogwarts actually made this easier. She was around less siblings who would help her to actually eat, and classes and school work made the perfect excuse not to got to the great hall. But the girl was smart. She knew that she had to go sometimes. Breakfast and lunch were the easiest to skip, and she regularly went to the hospital wing for blood. The girl stepped into the Great Hall and looked around. It wasn't a formal dinner time, so people were mixed, most sitting with their house, but some with friends, classmates, or family from other houses. The hall looked quite desolate, with many students having gone to Zombie Island. It wasn't something that Thursday had too much interest in. She wouldn't mind going, if it was with the right person. But she wouldn't actually be the person to start he idea of going.
Not seeing any of her siblings, Thursday made her way to a empty scratch of the Ravenclaw table. She pulled her Ancient runes book and a parchment out of her bag and began to work on it, ignoring the meal appearing around her. She had a few thins that needed to be sorted out. Whether for class, or for her personal reasons, no one would be able to tell. She treated both the same way. While she studied and worked through the problem that was in front of her, the girl instinctively reached for a roll of some kind and started to tear it apart as she read through the book for the fiftieth time since purchasing the book
The girl looked through the book, setting down the roll to make notes, hearing sly comments about how "Ravenclaw" she was, studying at the dinner table. In all honesty, this was a luxury. Obviously the other students didn't realize how loud eight teenagers could be around the dinner table. Conversations, fights, disagreements, complaints, you named it. Thursday was the quite type, but she could be loud... ish. Well she could try. It was a lot easier to be like that when she was with her siblings. The Weekly's understood her, because they were like her. Each of them different, and each of them unique.

Mealtimes within the Weekly family were occasionally a little bit different from how Monday imagined that things must have gone down with other people's families, but her family also wasn't other people. Veganism was (mostly) the name of the game, or at least their mother would have had it that way. Blood and meat were both still consumed, though not by all of the siblings, and it usually ended up that at least one of them was eating something different from the others for whatever reason. That was life as normal, and it was a lot easier at school, anyway. Aside from the fact that there were set dishes that the elves in the school kitchens prepared, they had enough variety to choose what they wanted to eat, and the Great Hall was also great for socializing—even outside of meals.
It was one of those evenings when it seemed as though half the school—and it probably had been half the school—had gone to the Hebrides for 'Zombie Island instead of sticking around to study or do whatever else at the castle. Monday had chosen to stay back, though, in order to finish a paper for one of her classes, and she had stopped her work on what she was doing just in time to go downstairs for dinner.
By the time that she made it to the Great Hall, there was already food on the tables, and it was easy enough for Monday to seat herself at the Gryffindor table. She refrained, though, because she noticed that her sister Thursday was at the Ravenclaw table and virtually alone. As she brushed past a few of the other students to reach where Thursday was sitting, Monday could overhear them discussions of how much like a Ravenclaw Thursday was to be sitting there and reading something in the middle of dinner.
Monday, although frustrated by it, bit back any commentary in their direction that might get her into hot water. So what if Thursday was studying? Hogwarts was a school, for one; that was a lot of why they were there. Plus, it wasn't as though most of them didn't have any shortage of work to do. At least for her, being in her seventh year, there was always some other assignment that needed to be done.
"Hey, Thursday," Monday smiled, seating herself backwards on the bench of the table at a distance from her sister and then pivoting around on it to put her legs underneath, as opposed to trying to straddle it. It was easier for her that way, given her height, and it reduced the chances of her injuring herself, when she didn't have quite the same range of motion as someone who wasn't part goblin. She then scooted closer to Thursday, to make up for the distance she'd had to create to account for the length of her legs, short though they were. "What's up?"

The Weekly family wasn't what most would call normal, but it was Thursday's normal. Werewolves, part-goblins, part-giants, and that was just the start of it. While they were all very different, they all seemed to click and understand how the other one worked. Studying with noise was a very useful, learned, skill that Thursday had picked up. The Weekly residence while spacious, was far from quiet. And if the girl wasn't playing video games, or working on programing her own, she was often studying or reading. She did go out and have fun with her siblings at times, but focusing while the world loudly moved around you was something that Thursday could do.
Sitting at the table, Thursday sat and kicked her feet back and forth. Being short had it's pros and cons. One pro that she liked was that seats weren't always made with her height entirely in mind. She learned at a young age, that if she sat just right, in just about any seat, she would be able to kick. It was a thing that she had picked up over the years.
She wasn't surprised to hear a familiar voice call her name, but she also wasn't expecting it. She lifted her quill, that was in the middle of righting rune that they had just started to talk about, and was the premise of the school work assigned. Thursday looked away from her book and parchment to see her sister, Monday. "Hi, Mo" she said as her sister sat on the bench. The girl couldn't help but smile at the sign that her sister would join her. They definitely didn't get many chances to spend quality time together while at school. "What's up?"
The girl looked back to her work and shrugged "Just working on some Runes" She gave another look around, seeing that the hall was more filled than from when she had first sat down. "How have you been?"

With her quill lifted midway into the air, Thursday turned her head to look at her. "Hi, Mo," she greeted her, fortunately not disturbed by her presence at the table with her. She explained that she was working on something for Ancient Runes. At that point, Monday noticed, Thursday looked around at the hall rather than at her work. "How have you been?" she asked.
"Good," Monday answered. "I've just been working on stuff upstairs," she explained, but it wasn't anything that she couldn't take a break for. Besides, there was dinner, and Monday began to put food on her plate as she conversed with Thursday.
It was unfortunate that they and most of their siblings were split across all four of the Hogwarts Houses. They had been split at Ilvermorny, too, but it had never felt as obvious there. Since transferring, though, Monday had tried to make it even more of a point to spend time with her siblings. With the fact that it was her last year, as well, she knew that she would have to start thinking about what it would be like for her to move on from Hogwarts as one of the oldest of the Weekly kids, and the younger ones would have to go through school life without them.
Maybe, Monday hoped, they would be back at Ilvermorny for the next school year. That would make it easier for Thursday, especially, whom she knew hadn't done very well with the transfer to Hogwarts. The very least she could do as her older sister was to be there for her. If that came with a few stares from the other Houses, so what? They weren't really the new kids in school anymore.

After looking around, Thursday glanced back at Monday who stated that she was working upstairs. Potentially studying or working on assigned coursework. Monday was a year ahead, and had her NETW's at the end of this year. And yes, Thursday already had that in mind for her own year....next year. Next year studies was something that Thursday was ready to jump into, but something she didn't feel ready for, was loosing nearly half of her siblings. It had been hard the first time, when they had gone off to Ilvermorney without her. Needless to say, Thursday had some abandonment issues. She was better now. But she still didn't like the idea.
Thursday looked at her book and parchment to her sister getting food, and she felt (and heard) her stomach give a clear message. She looked at her nice parchment, to the book, that hadn't received any food stain since she got it early last summer, then at the food that had appeared while she was suddying.
She finished righting the thought she had ended on and spoke as she did, "How are your classes going?" School was always something she could talk about. Though, she refrained form offering to help her older siblings with their work. Had she already read the seventh year information in her advanced text books? Yes, yes she had.

As Monday put food on her plate, it seemed to dawn on Thursday that she also needed to eat more than just a roll while she continued working on her Ancient Runes. There was enough room on the table that she could probably set aside her school things so that she wouldn't get anything on them while she ate, Monday observed, though Thursday kept writing for at least another moment.
"How are your classes going?" "Pretty okay." Thank Merlin, it wouldn't be cram time until the next semester, and there were a few months to go before that came around. The teachers at Hogwarts did enjoy giving them plenty of work to do, and Monday really wasn't a fan of being taught for the sake of just having to pass a bunch of exams. At least she wasn't focused on becoming an Auror or a Healer, she thought, because way too many of the students who were focused on goals that required specific marks of them were already beginning to freak out. "I'm not behind in anything," she added, taking a bite of some roasted potatoes after speaking. Not falling behind was a plus, especially with the distraction of Zombie Island. Most of her peers didn't seem too worried about their assignments because of it, so she did think that it made her look better that she was still getting her things done on time (and ideally satisfactorily).

Thursday knew she had to eat. But, but but. After finishing what she had been working on, Thursday looked at her sister, as she answered her question. Having someone by her was good incentive to eat. And while she didn't entirely feel like it, she was hungry.
Monday mentioned not being behind in any of her classes and Thursday beamed "Same" She really did wish that her teachers would tell them the homework assignments for the rest of the semester.
"You doing good, Thor?" Thursday took her parchment and rolled it up, putting it, her writing material, and the book back in her bag. Finally looking at her sister with a weary smile. "Ok, I guess. Things have been hard lately" She had more issues than just blood and lack of food. And it had seemed that this year had brought them along too. She wished that she could have just left them at the penthouse.

Although Thursday also said that she hadn't fallen behind in her academic work, her response about how she had been doing beyond that wasn't as positive, and Monday was quick to pick up on it. She knew her siblings like the back of her hand, so it wasn't difficult to tell when something was "up" with any of them. She knew what they were like on their good days, and she knew what they were like on their bad days, and she had always felt that it was part of her responsibility to stick by them regardless of whatever was going on.
Thursday finally began to put her supplies away so that she could eat, but she mentioned that things had been hard for her lately.
It was hardly a secret that they were all adopted except for Charlie, though Monday was careful about the way in which she worded things while they were around their peers. She didn't need for any of the other students to be prying into their personal business, and she certainly didn't need to be exposing Thursday's past traumas to the entire Great Hall, even if it happened accidentally.
Monday nodded, set down her fork on her plate, and moved to put her arm across Thursday's shoulders. "I've got your back," she smiled at her sister reassuringly. "And I'm not that far away if you ever need me for anything," Monday also reminded Thursday. She also wasn't above technically breaking the rules, if it came to that, to leave her dormitory at night because one of her siblings needed her for something. "Have some dinner, and we can chat if you want after, okay?"

Things hadn't been easy for Thursday as of late. It hadn't helped that she often felt like she didn't have anyone. It felt good to have Monday choose to come and sit with her. The girl could have gone to her own house table, and sit with friends, in stead, she chose to sit with her younger, pink haired sister.
She wasn't one to lie too much to her sister. Things had been hard. Course work and extra credit was a great way to distract herself. And if she had a break, she tried to spend time on her game. It was time to put away her things for a time. She would be able to finish up her paper when she got back to the Ravenclaw common room. Spending time with her sister was what she truly needed right now. She also knew, that Monday was more then willing to be there for her, no matter what. They had had fun together, but also the girl had seen Thursday during her really bad days.
Thursday melted into her sister, feeling the half embrace beginning to help lighten some spaces up. "I've got your back," her sister had said and Thursday breathed a soft "Thanks" The girl also stated that she was close by too. Which was true, both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw's common rooms were in towers, and not as far as the Hufflepuff and Slytherin common rooms. Thursday nodded, and knew that. It was just hard to ask for help when the darkness was extra strong.
Then the important thing, as one of the oldest siblings, Monday had, in a way, taken the role of surrogate mother over the summer. She had helped Thursday a lot, and she was happy that the she was here now. "Have some dinner, and we can chat if you want after, okay?" Thursday nodded and pulled away, but only just. She then started to add more food onto her plate.

Thursday felt as though she was physically relaxing a little at the sensation of the closest thing to a hug that she could give her while they were seated beside each other at the table, and Monday was happy for her sister's sake. She had wanted to make sure that Thursday understood that she wasn't sweeping her concerns under the rug, but she also wanted to ensure that her sister wasn't so worried about other things that she didn't stop to eat and take care of her basic needs first. Thursday might have been a half-vampire, but that didn't mean that she could forgo "human" food. She appeared to recognize that, too, because she began to put more food onto her plate after that.
Looking after her younger siblings wasn't something to which Monday gave much thought, truly. They made sure that she was okay when she needed it, too, and she tried to avoid being overbearing. There really wasn't much of an age difference between any of them, and she knew that any of them would have been quick to call her out if they thought that she was babying them too much. In her mind, it was mostly the idea that they could have issues with one another, but Merlin forbid that anyone from outside of their family should try to mess with any of them. That was when the claws—proverbially for Monday, anyway—really came out.
Mentioning that they could chat after they finished dinner and Thursday got some much-needed nutrition didn't preclude them from chatting about other topics that weren't quite so personal in nature, though Monday observed that Thursday was being awfully quiet. It wasn't like her to be very talkative—at least not most of the time and without a sugar rush—but she did need some help in getting eased back out of the place in which she had found herself mentally.
"Have you been working on your coding stuff lately?" Monday asked brightly a short time later, bringing up the gaming project that Thursday had had in progress since at least the summer. She knew how dedicated Thursday had been to that, almost to the point of obsession. It was sort of good, though; Thursday was passionate about it, and Monday was hoping that that spark would shine through just enough to take her younger sister's mind off of other things for a few minutes.

Thursday knew that hugs and curling up to those she loved helped lessen the darkness of the day. This was a fact. Her siblings helped her a lot with this. Monday was always a big help. It was a known fact that the younger girl didn't eat as much as she should. She tried sometimes, while other times she just didn't feel like eating. Even if she knew that she had to eat, sometimes the thought of eating made her feel physically ill. While at school, skipping meals and eating less was easier. There were a lot of students, and it wasn't often that all the siblings could sit with each other. Family meals while at home, it was harder. But she had gotten good about picking and playing with her food long enough to be excused.
Today she did feel pretty hungry, and Monday was a good incentive to get her to get more food on her plate. She pulled towards her what looked good to her. Not feeling sick at the thought, this time. She knew that her sister would be happy with the sight of food on her plate. Monday took good care of the younger kids. And while they were all within a few years of each other, they all had different sorties. Monday was brought into the family at birth, and Thursday and the others were brought at an older age. While She didn't remember much of that time, there were still scars. While she loved her all her siblings, and relied on their help when she was having a hard time, but she did hate being told to go to bed. It wasn't something that happened too often, and she defiantly was a night owl. She loved to either work on coding her game or playing online with gamers from around the world.
Thursday pulled food onto her plate, she ate some of it, working through it slowly. One positive thing about dinner, was that there was always a dessert after words. And, as all of her siblings knew, her sweet tooth was strong. She almost always had room for desert. Every Weekly knew that the best way to get Thursday to do something, was to make the sweets worth it. Thursday didn't feel much like talking, especially about the monsters that lurked in her mind. Especially not in the Great Hall, where sound traveled, and privacy isn't really a thing in a set up like this. Her house, class and school mates didn't need to know about what was in her head.
"Have you been working on your coding stuff lately?" Monday knew exactly how to help Thursday climb out of the hole she found herself in. Her game was one of her truest passions. She worked on it when she could, mostly self taught, but her concept and idea was there. Thursday cracked a smile, swallowing her food she started "Just a little bit. I'm working on setting up some position stuff in it, but I have to ask the Professor Courtemanche about." she'd probably do that when she felt a little bit better. "And I try to code on the weekends. 'Cause I don't have any homework during then." This was mostly because she made it a habit to get done an assignment as soon as it was assigned. While she knew that Monday wasn't into video games, Thursday knew that she really was interested. Like a good sister, she listened and let the younger girl rant and talk about her project.

Thursday actually went so far as to smile in response to her question about all of the computer coding work that she had been so invested in, but she explained after a bite of food that she had been working on the game only a little bit, because she had a question for Professor Courtmanche about something that she was working on in the game itself. She added, too, that she had been trying to code it on the weekends, when she didn't have homework to do.
Monday understood the scheduling thing. With how quickly Thursday could lose track of all else once she got involved in a task, it was good that she was being mindful of when she did and didn't have homework to do for her classes. As a Ravenclaw, she probably would have been okay regardless; she would have found a way to get it done, but it was probably also less stressful for her—and therefore much healthier—for her to be managing her time.
"Oh, that's so cool, though!" Monday grinned back at Thursday after she ate some more of her own food, genuinely impressed by what her sister was doing. She hadn't realized that the project was going to be so lifelike! "I didn't realize that you were doing, like, actual research for it, but that totally makes sense! I mean, wow… You should be really proud of yourself, Thursday."

Thursday was proud of her project, and was sure that it wasn't just a simple fantasy. She intended for her game to go live, and hoped that people would actually get to play and enjoy it. Sunday had already offered to play it when she was done. She was also sure that some of her other siblings would enjoy it at that time too. She was defiantly lucky to have built in testers. She wished that she had more time to work on her game, rather than course work. Weekends were a good start, but if she could get more ahead in her coursework, then she would be able to pull out her enchanted laptop during her free times during the week. People may not fully approve of her passion. And she knew that she couldn't let her grades suffer. That was just not acceptable.
Thursday had a the skill of focusing on a task so much, she could lose track of time. Her organizational skills helped to keep that in check. She had to finish what she was working on for Ancient Runes, then maybe - should there be time - she could pull out, and work on some codding in bed before going to sleep. She just had to be careful not to pull yet another all nighter. It wasn't as welcomed when it came to school nights.
Either way, Monday seemed excited and impressed with Thursday's work. Thursday had decided that her game would hold many elements of truth in it. Though her audience wasn't the wizarding world. Honestly, she didn't know many witches or wizards that actually played video games. Her true audience was the no-mag world. People who lived normal, ordinary, magicless lives. People who dreamed of more, who wanted to be apart of some fantastical land. People who used video games to fulfill that desire.
"I didn't realize that you were doing, like, actual research for it, but that totally makes sense!" Monday raved and Thursday beamed. of course she was doing research. "Well I had originally planned to incorporate runes into it, but after reading through the advanced potions book for this and next year gave me some really good ideas." Yes, she had already read through the entire book. Yes she had already made notes about certain ones that she thought could be put into her game idea, and she even had an idea about how she was going to incorporate it. "I thought it could be a side quest, where you could collect ingredients and brew potions for different outcomes." The girl continued. When she started on her game, she didn't exactly want to stop.

Monday had never been as invested in video games and things like that as some of her siblings were. The games were fun to pick up every once in a while, but she wasn't dedicated to any of them enough to keep her progress going, really. Actually working to code a game, then, was completely beyond her skill set, but the cool thing about having so many siblings was that all of them had different interests. Monday's own passion was more in the direction of making sure that those who weren't seen as fully human by magical society—like herself, Thursday, and others of their siblings—were treated with the same respect that anyone else was owed, but that didn't make Thursday's work any less important, either. They needed fun in their lives, too.
Thursday was obviously proud of what she had accomplished for herself, and she should have been. It was a lot of effort that was probably going unnoticed by her teachers, which was kind of a shame. If any of them thought that Thursday wasn't dedicated to her studies, they needed to see what she was capable of doing, because she definitely could apply herself to projects. She explained that she had planned to incorporate runes into the game initially. After reading through the advanced Potions textbook for the NEWT level, though, she said, it had given her some really good ideas. "I thought it could be a side quest, where you could collect ingredients and brew potions for different outcomes."
"So would you get ingredients for doing different things in the game?" wondered Monday. "Like, as a reward? Or would it be like… you have to go around and make sure to collect ingredients as you go along?"

Thursday considered herself a gamer girl. She loved to play games. She even had lots of online friends that she played with. She had gotten good in explaining why she never got online during the school year. Her best excuse was that she went to a prestigious boarding school that had a very strict policy on games. Most seemed to buy it, some still seemed suspicious. That didn't matter though. Either way, she never got on, unless she went home for the holidays.
The Weekly kids were all so different, they all had their own passions and personalities. Just because one like something and not what another liked, it didn't invalidate either passion or dream. Because of the families unusual upbringing, they celebrated differences, the most prominent being the Demi-human parts of their family. They had the tall, the short, the beautiful, the bloodsucking, and the moon howling. No matter what they had in their blood, they were family and they all loved each other
Thursday's dedication was to her video game. She would never let it get in the way of getting good marks at school. And while many were thinking of what magical career they would follow, Thursday knew that she wanted to go into video games as her career. She felt like she would be able to bring and interesting perspective into it. While she would still need magic in her daily life, and she would always be different to others, her vampire blood made that a fact, she wouldn't let that stop her. Monday seemed interested, and clarified what Thursday was talking about, and Thursday was more than happy to keep talking "Yes, and no. They'll get ingredients from doing things like a reward, but they also would have to find and harvest ingredients too. Like ashwinder eggs, bloodroot, and Mandrake." to name a few. And all were actual ingredients used in potions in their life.
