It had about a week since the fight. Words had been thrown like daggers, feelings had been hurt. Far too much had been said, and neither had spoken since. Maria couldn't help but feel a void. An aching. After, finally, calming down, she'd come to regret what she'd said. She'd wanted to hurt him, and she'd known exactly how to do it. But likewise so had he. So she wouldn't apologize until he did. Until he apologized for using Elias like that against her. The worst part was that there were so much that Rhys didn't know. About her. He knew more then most, but there was still so much hurt hidden beneath the surface. He hadn't known everything that happened on the ship. He'd known that she was still bitter about his death, but he hadn't known just what she had experienced and that Elias being weaponized had reawaken memories and feelings she'd tried to suppress for over a year. It had never bothered her when people tried to use Elias against her before. So why did her heart ache so much when Rhys did it?
Was it because maybe, for once, it was coming from someone she actually respected? Someone she trusted, to a degree? Was it because she knew he was right?
That thought alone had haunted her since the fight. That he was right. That Elias would be ashamed of her. If he saw her now. He'd never liked her promiscuous life style. That had gotten far worse after graduation. He'd also hate the dancing. And the alcohol and other drugs. He'd hate the drama. And he's be so fucking disappointed that she couldn't have a civil conversation with his family.
Maria had tried to drink the thoughts away. Though unfortunately that only seemed to make them worse. Today in particular had been the worst. She'd called out at work, unable to muster the will to go. She just lay in bed most the day, staring at the ceiling. Eventually she did manage to get out of bed and get dressed, though that was an effort unto itself. This was why she didn't dwell on the past. Because when she did it just hurt until she couldn't function. She'd just opened her fridge, pulling out a bottle gin and cranberry juice when there was a knock at her door.
Maria almost didn't answer. But something told her to. So, setting the alcohol and juice on the counter she moved to the door, and peered through the peep hole.
Rhys.
The hell did he want now? Hadn't he had enough? She unlocked the door and opened it. She didn't say anything, just raised an eyebrow to silently ask him what he wanted.

you keep me from crashing down
November 3, 2025
Rhys sat on the edge of his bed, he rubbed his face and his eyes—they were tired. He hadn’t slept all that well and honestly it had been a couple of days now. The insomnia itself was not a new phenomenon for him but the past five or so months he’d been able to manage it. All that had been on his mind was that incident at Zombie Island and fighting words and he could remember the rage he had felt, the look on Maria’s face and the look on his sister’s face when Maria told her what tantamounted to a summary of almost everything. Fortunately, it had stayed with almost everything as even the fact that this was occurring had been enough to cause an argument between them not long after. Since then he’d been what could best be described as sulky but he himself would describe it as just moody. His temper had been shorter than ever and fighting with his sister had added to perpetual bad mood. It had quickly turned into whiskey for dinner, and most likely for lunch while sleeping in until breakfast was technically over. It didn’t help that the full moon was in a few days and his usual routine had been so disrupted.
He thought about the words he had said in anger, he’d been so angry and while he always knew he was short tempered he hadn’t quite understood why it had affected him like that. The more he thought back on it the more he knew he had crossed a line, several lines. The accusations he spat she rebounded with equal accusations though he hated to admit she was right. He had liked it, isn’t that why this affair had persisted for so long when logic had told Rhys it was a terrible idea? Then Elias had been brought up—well Rhys had brought him up and he’d crossed that line intentionally, but he did feel a pang of regret over that. That had touched a very raw nerve and the messed-up thing was that Rhys knew that nerve existed, and he had gone for it anyway. Shaking his head, he grabbed his jeans and a shirt from his closet. Couple of days to the full moon and he was feel that urge, that itch and he knew where he wanted to be but his pride had been proving a successful roadblock as of late.
Pausing after he’d gotten dressed, he absentmindedly rubbed the knuckles of his left hand, he’d still been rather infuriated that night and managed to shatter lots of glass in his flat that had been long since cleaned up. The wounds were easy to heal but he remembered how raw they had felt after being so cut up. Only faint scars remained. Rhys grabbed his wand from the nightstand and his phone, it had been quiet this past week, but he’d expected that, and he also concluded that a message or call could easily be avoided as well. His jacket he grabbed off the couch on his way out the door. His only hesitation when he stood outside with the picture of Maria’s doorstep in his mind and his wand out was his pride again, it was telling him to stand his ground and maybe she’d come around or maybe they would both move on with their lives. But his need was outweighing that by the second. Before he could stop himself, he found himself with her familiar door in front of him and he knocked.
To his surprise, the door was answered, and it wasn’t even the indignant face he expected. She looked at him with a question, what was he doing here? Unsurprisingly, his first instinct was not to apologize in any way shape or form as his current bad mood persisted but he needed her as he had all these months and this past week had gone by slowly as long as the void had continued to exist in his life. ”You going to let me in?” He asked. It was hard to be polite when he was feeling this temperamental and with the yearning driving him, ”We need to talk.” He did have a primary purpose for being here, and it wasn’t to apologize.

Maria hadn't been angry when she saw him at her door step. Despite all the angry words they had thrown at each other, she wasn't necessary mad to see him. At her doorstep. Again. Almost as if nothing had happened at all. His showing up at her doorstep was natural. Before their fight it had been a multiple times a week occurrence. Since the fight... Well, this was the first time he'd wandered his way back.
Though, there was spark of annoyance when he spoke. Snarkily asking if she was going to let him in. She crossed her arms, both eyebrows raised now like "seriously?". That's what he had to say after everything? Though, when he finally spoke again, will must less sass, that they needed to talk, she sighed, rolling her eyes. She unfolded her arms and opened the door the rest of the way. She still hadn't bothered speaking and she turned away from him and back to her kitchen where she'd left off. While she hadn't told him he could come in, the invitation was clear. If he wasn't welcome she would have just slammed the door in his face. Though that also didn't mean she was going to an accommodating host. Maria wasn't accommodating on the best of days though she was rarely this standoffish.
Maria didn't look to see if he'd accepted the invitation, just listening as she went back to fixing herself a very strong drink. It was almost half gin, half, cranberry juice. Only once her drink was fixed did she turn to lean against counter, her eyes dark and unreadable as she stared at him. "Talk, then," she finally said, before raising her glass and taking a sip.

Maria didn’t speak but he could read her facial expressions well enough at this point. Even in his current mood he knew he had come off a bit abrasive especially having just arrived. It was all still fresh in his mind, more than he had figured. The eye roll didn’t go unnoticed and the unspoken invitation to come in. Even on the select nights they had actually talked it had not been this tense. Well, Rhys felt tense anyhow, but he was still trying to get a read on Maria. All these months and they had finally found very new territory to wander into together. She walked further into her apartment with the door left open for him and he paused for a second, again his pride was telling him he could still turn around and walk away. Instead, he stepped inside and closed the door behind him slowly walking in though Maria went straight for the kitchen. She stopped and he watched her mix a drink, it might have been concerning for others to see as it wasn’t that late in the day but Rhys tended to do the same thing himself just with his preferred poison of whiskey.
Finally, she turned to face him, leaning casually on the counter while he stood nearby his own arms crossed. Despite what he had said he really wasn’t sure what to say, he could only think about the things she had said and that he had said. Where does one go from there? She had exposed him in a way that had made him feel more vulnerable that he had in a long time. Exposed him as being weak but yet, here he was. The dynamic was different, it had been thrown off and Rhys was trying to find a way back to something similar. It was selfish, he knew that, but he was too impatient to care. ”You know why I’m here.” He took a slow step forward, the current date proximity to the full moon most likely hadn’t been missed and he paused before he spoke again. He wasn’t angry has en had been before so he could better control when he said things. ”I know we—I said things. But…” He trailed off, looking away for a second and then looking back. Again, he took another slow step forward. ”This is just sex, isn’t it? That’s what its always been.”
The internal monologue that reminded him that he shouldn’t have come, he should be looking at Maria the way he was now. The wolf inside of him tended to suppress said monologue so close the moon and his sisters were already pissed at him so what was the harm?

Maria usually gravitated towards hard liquor as well. Whiskey, vodka. But she'd chosen gin for a reason. Because it would give her the worst hangover. She was a bit in a masochistic mood, intentionally wanting to hurt because hurting was better then memories. She took another sip as he managed to speak, telling her that she knew why he was there. Of course she did. He was too stubborn to apologize. "I'd rather hear you say it," she responded coolly. If he wanted something from her, which he clearly did, she'd drag it out of him. If he wanted to be selfish today, then so did she. She wouldn't tell him no if he did manage to spit it out, she just wanted the sick satisfaction of making him admit it aloud.
His timing also wasn't lost on her. The full moon was approaching and that always riled him up. While she'd always seem him throughout the month his visits were the most frequent close to the full moon.
Then, he was vaguely mentioning the fight. Maria frowned, but raised her glass to take a long sip to hide it. She didn't respond, and he went on to mention that this was just sex. Something Maria agreed on. That's all this was. She lowered her glass, though didn't set it on the counter yet. "What gave you the idea it was anything else?" She spoke slowly. While... There were some feelings, Maria chose to deny them. No, that's all this was. Sex between two broken people.

If Rhys was anything and was known for a specific trait it was being stubborn, though only because he was the point of unyielding sometimes. Maria knew this so he wasn’t overly surprised at her next comment, though it reminded him of where they had all started. Her in control of him at that club, where he had caved completely. It frustrated Rhys only because he wasn’t in the mood for games but there were lines one had to tread lightly in some situations, lines that weren’t meant to be crossed while others could be. Rhys clenched his jaw, the last time she had caught him off guard, but he knew her better than that now. ”I know you would.” He merely commented. He was still slightly recovering from what she had done to him at the festival, he’d let her have the upper hand only for it to come back and bite him later. With her next remark he moved closer to her, uncrossing his arms in the process—again he looked away for a moment before looking back.
She wasn’t wrong, and his clarification of the obvious was probably not needed but maybe he was just trying to convince himself by saying it out loud. At least during the times when he was sober, he had tried and failed not to think about everything and put together the pieces of the puzzle. He was still combing through that though mostly because he didn’t want to see what it actually was. ”I didn’t say it was.” He wished she wasn’t being so stubborn, the conversation was going slower than he was liking and it made him feel moodier and perhaps a bit more aggressive than he would have been outside the domain of the full moon. Again, he worked to bridge the gap between them, it also served a purpose as he wanted to corner her in so she wouldn’t walk away from him. ”So, what’ll it take then? Hm?” He looked at her, his own eyes dark with many emotions going through them.
The last time he’d been this close to her was the night of that argument when they had been hanging out and relaxed and before that he had a flashback to their last time together. In fact, while their arrangement had been clear before in terms of purpose, he’d spent almost equal time in all parts of her apartment. Including the counter, she was currently leaning on—which came to mind as he stood so close to her.

Maria always met her matched with Rhys. He was just as, if not more stubborn then her. He didn't budge once he made a decision. While she'd managed to break that iron will on occasions, it wasn't an every day occasion. That didn't stop her from trying though. "I'd hate to misread the situation," she answered, her words almost mocking as she silently urged him, again, to say it. While he might not bend, her pestering him would at least piss him off. And that was a victory unto itself.
He really was getting a little anxious though, moving closer every few moments. Maria didn't move. No, she just waited, leaning against the counter, glass in hand. If he wanted her as much as he seemed, he'd keep coming. She didn't even have to do anything. Which was almost part of the whole scheme. Acting disinterested was just the cherry on top to piss him off. Though he'd know her well enough to know that she was never 'disinterested'. Though, even at this moment hadn't caught on this his cornering scheme yet. She fully believed that she was still, mostly, in charge of the moment. She raised her glass and downed the rest of her drink. Setting the glass on the counter she rested the palms of her hand on the counter edge. Her head tilted to the side, though her gaze never wavered from his own. "Hmmm... I don't know if I'm in the mood tonight." While her words said one thing her eyes said something completely different. It almost sent a chill down her spine, watching those emotions swirl in his eyes. Feeling that he wanted her. But she'd be stubborn. She wouldn't just give in to him and his angsty werewolf whims so easily. As if to try and prove the point she turned, and reached for the gin bottle and cranberry juice. As if it was more interesting then him. Maria knew he wouldn't like her turning her back to him, but that was the point.

Her sarcasm wasn't well hidden though Rhys doubted that had been the intention. She was used to getting her way, especially from him but he wasn't feeling as yielding today. He knew she wouldn’t let go of getting what she wanted even if she had to change her approach. She was avoiding the issue as much as he was avoiding saying it out loud which wasn't helping him feel any better, he was feeling impatient. Maria finished her drink and set the empty glass aside and then looked back to him to answer. However, it wasn't what he expected—at all and he even slightly raised an eyebrow in apparently surprise. That was not the woman that he knew, part of the reason this had gone on for months was having the appetite to match the other and when Rhys was ad his most wanton close to the full moon. Its why he was here, despite what happened he was still hooked. He wasn’t totally convinced. Her words were telling him to leave but her gaze didn’t match. Just Rhys knew what was in his eyes despite the few words he had spoken himself.
When Maria turned away from him, he felt the irritation begin to grow, was she really that disinterested in him? Or perhaps actually upset about that night. Either way Rhys was having a hard time caring, he didn’t like her dismissing him so easily. It touched his pride, but also just because it was her. Rhys waited a moment and shoot his head a bit in frustration and then slowly approached her, so he was close but not touching her. Slowly, he leaned in reaching up to move the hair away from her neck and ear before leaning in close. ”That doesn’t sound like you.” He said in a low voice. Aside from having moved her hair aside so that he could get close he wasn’t touching her. He felt aggravated, she was trying to dismiss him and in such a cool and casual way that he knew his pride didn’t want to take the hit. He wasn’t going to be dismissed, not by her of all people. ”You know I don’t like it when you turn away from me." He paused for a brief moment. Don’t do it again.” Rhys said, there was some warning but he was growing wearing of what was turning into just them circling each other.

Oh, that had riled him up quite a bit. On the best of days he didn't like her turning her back on him so blatantly. But this was quite different. She could just feel the frustration radiating off of him without even looking. It made her feel smug. He might be a stubborn asshole, but that reaction had just proven how desperate he was. Though, it wasn't going to be the begging type of desperate. It would be the taking. Maria, a very dominate person by nature, rarely was submissive. But there were times when Rhys could force his dominance over her. This seemed to be one of those days.
Her body went still as she felt him close, brushing her hair off her shoulder. He didn't touch her, but she could feel the heat from his body. Feel his larger frame overshadowing her own. Well.. He had her blood pumping now. Her heart raced just a little, and it took all her will to not turn around right then. "Oh you don't?" Her words were barely a whisper, though still that mocking undertone. At his order to not do it again, she smirked, though he'd only be able to see the corner of her lips from his position behind her. She didn't move. "Or what? Are you just all threats tonight?"

His entire life Rhys never craved much except for something more in his life and control. It had never been about power but about controlling what was happening since it had slipped his fingers for long. He kept calm, kept his temper in check, stubbornly stuck his goals and moved ahead in life. But this year, no this this year had been very different. Maria had gotten under his skin, past his armor and he’d given up some control. It had infuriated him at first but then it had turned into something….addicting. Still, she had a personality that matched him in most ways including on the aspect of control, but he liked the challenge—he craved it. Werewolves often experienced different cravings, so to speak, closer to the full moon and this was his. Since he’d arrived, he’d only managed to end up more on edge and to the point that he wasn’t even thinking about what had happened just a week ago in that field. He just knew what he wanted, and she was denying him that.
She continued to mock him and again he just felt irritated, and then she did it again but with a challenge. As if to try and call his bluff, perhaps she was expecting him to back down—she would have loved that for him. He remembered the satisfaction in her face as week ago and he’d been brought to his knees before. Still, he managed his own smirk though his eyes were still dark. She stood her ground facing away from him and again he shifted ever so closer but without touching her, she’d have to fight her way past him if she was planning to run. Rhys leaned in again, his mouth near her ear as he let out a bit of breath. His hand came to her waist on the opposite side his fingers slipping under the fabric of her shirt—but barely, enough to let his fingertips run from her side to close to her midsection trailing the top of her pants. ”You know I don’t make empty threats.” That part, at least, was true and he would prove his point but he needed her to drop the wall she had up—to cave. He needed her willing.
Rhys’ hand that wasn’t already near her hip moved to were her hand was near the bottle of gin and his hand was on the back of hers on the counter so he had her there while the other one grabbed her hip with more grip than he had before and he moved the rest of the way over what little of a gap had remained between them, ”So are you going to be a good girl or am I going to have to make you?” She liked to push him, and he’d let her but he had arrived with a mindset and in his temperamental mood he just wanted an outlet and control.

It was a gloriously dangerous game. Rhys' tolerance was very low this time of month. He's impatience and his aggression intensified. Pushing him would invoke a reaction, a very strong, regret it days later, reaction. But Maria didn't regret things. No, she liked pushing the limits. The lines in the sand were meant to be crossed, and the edges of cliff meant to be jumped off of. Reckless, that's what Maria was. But in her mind, life was meant for taking chances. And in this case? Keep poking an already riled up Rhys until he snapped.
Maria felt what little room she'd had to escape close, and her heart raced a little faster as she realized what he'd done. Cornered and trapped her. While she hadn't necessarily been planning on trying to escape, she hadn't planned on getting caught so easily. His breath on her neck sent a shiver down her spine, and her breath shook just a touch. As he finally touched her, his fingers sliding her her shirt and barely touching the skin there, she closed her eyes. God, she missed being touched. Sine the fight she really hadn't been with anyone else. Hadn't been interested in anyone else. She leaned into the touch, desperate for more and grabbed the edge of the counter with her free hand. She opened her mouth to respond but no words came out. So she closed it quickly. The contact, and threat of more, had been enough to break through the wall she'd built. He pulled her against him, his hand firmly at her waist and the other on her own hand and she gasped. His words, telling her to be a "good girl" or he'd make her, actually made her laugh just a little. "I'm never a good girl," she breathed. There was a part of her that was pissed that he'd so easily broken her defenses. She hated losing, but maybe... just this once. "You'll have to make me."

The entire time she didn’t push him away, she didn’t move and that had encouraged him to continue as he had been. Pushing his buttons near the full moon was always something that he reacted to rather differently than other times and it wasn’t intentional—just how his mood and everything shifted for those few days. He’d spent his whole life seeking control from what was inside of him but at that moment it was certainly driving him, and he was letting it. She shifted a bit when his hand had been softly at her waist. Even though he had the upper hand in a way he merely pushed the boundaries she had acted like were there. Even when he had brought her to him, she challenged him, though for a second, he hadn’t focused on that. Rhys focused on how her body felt against his, it had been since before that fight that he’d last been this close to her. His earlier craving and need only intensified then, even with her defiance. Fine. On top of how riled up he was due to the full moon he’d had lingering feelings from that fight and they’d sat there being temporarily numbed for the week with plenty of whiskey and whatever else he could get his hands on, he didn’t want to feel them but they were there—they were with him now still.
Her challenge was one he could gladly accept but she was still not letting him have the control he wanted. He smirked though she couldn’t see him front in front of him, his hand met her skin as it traveled more toward her abdomen. Rhys closed his eyes for a second, he’d missed how her skin felt under his hands, but he wouldn’t admit that to her, not yet. ”Oh, I will.” He responded, now that she was against him, he let his teeth graze her neck but lightly. He had grown impatient so he wasn’t going to tease her as much as he would have wanted otherwise but enough. All that anger he had, he still felt but he wanted her to submit to him and his control since she’d taken his away. He moved his hand that had pinned her other hand to the counter and took a small step backwards, he immediately regretted it if only because he didn’t feel her body heat against him anymore. But this way it gave him room to turn her around so she was facing him, he wanted to be face to face with her now so she could see his eyes and his intent.
They weren’t separated for very long as he moved in again putting his hand to her side against to counter as if to keep her trapped where he wanted her and the other one to pull her close though he pushed her against the counter. Rhys kissed her, but it wasn’t soft nor was it gentle and when he pulled back to breath, he bit her bottom lip. He didn’t care that they were in the kitchen, he didn’t care what they might possibly knock over around them, he just wanted her. Though if she kept challenging him he was going to have to have to stop holding back what he already was.

Just three words. That's all he said. Three words. And yet it was like the gates were thrown wide open. He pulled away, leaving a horrible child at her back and immediate frustration. She'd actually started to turn herself, but she must not have turned fast enough. He yanked her around and pushed her against the counter. His eyes were dark and intense. Perhaps she had pushed him too far. It was close to the full moon after all. If Maria wasn't a masochist she might have been scared. What he might do. But instead the chill that ran down her spine only excited her.
And then, their lips met. Finally. Forceful, desperate, hungry, frustrated. It was just a surge of so many intense and desperate emotions. Fighting for control and dominance. Maria immediately pushed back into the kiss, matching his ferocity. Her hands moved to the back of his neck, as if to prevent him from retreating. If he was going to block her escape, she'd block his.
God, it had been too long. Two weeks maybe? Since Maria had slept with anyone, but most importantly Rhys. Rhys just matched her intensity. Once you tasted that sort of power, it was hard to let it go. Maria wouldn't admit it, but she was just as addicted to this as he was.
Maria only broke the kiss so that she could blindly reached behind her and roughly push the bottles and empty glass into the sink, not caring as the glass shattered. Once clear, she planted her hands on the counter edge and pulled herself up onto it. She moved her legs, so that her knees were on each side of his waist, then grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him back into a kiss. It was almost like those few moments apart had made her even more desperate. Would they regret this in the morning? Maybe. But tonight she didn't fucking care.

TW/CW -- they're fighting again
you keep me from crashing down
November 3, 2025 @maria
The intensity that he reached near the full moon was pretty high, but it almost seemed compounded by who he really was at the bottom of it. He knew he had cravings and urges that were likely similar to what his father experienced but he never acted on them, he didn’t want to be a monster or some kind of beast with that reputation. His self-control and discipline were to keep that in check, and he it wasn’t something that was unique to him. Each werewolf responded a bit differently and some where rather placid in terms of they craved red meat while Rhys experienced much more turbulent emotions and urges himself. And Maria tapped into that from him, it had probably started as some kind of game, but it had become a habit when he realized she wasn’t scared of it—in fact she enjoyed it. That was the part he hadn’t been able to explain to his sister, not that he had tried very hard to focus on that awkward subject. When Rhys kissed her, she kissed him back trying to match his intensity which only fueled him further and emboldened him. She had stopped fighting him, stopped dismissing him.
It hadn’t even been a week and he’d fallen off the wagon, any promises he had made thrown out the window the second he walked in here with a goal and he had been determined to not let anything get in his way. Rhys still felt angry and subduing Maria was a way for him to take that out on her, he’d been so pissed off that she had ruined everything by telling Max the truth but he had also come to realize he’d been angry because it threated this. Rhys had become dependent on this whether he liked it or not. Maria pulled back for a moment, even if Rhys hadn’t been ready for her to but then he heard items clatter and break behind her, but he didn’t look to see what it was. She lifted herself onto the counter and pulled his shirt toward her to resume the kiss. His brain wasn’t foggy, he knew exactly what he was doing, and he’d deal with those consequences later. He’d managed to survive that small incident last week, hadn’t he? How much worse than that could it get?
He didn’t need to pull back to slip out of his jacket and throw it aside in some random direction, not caring what it might land on or where and he ran his hands up her thighs until they reached her hips and he scooted her close to the edge—close to him. But again, he was growing impatient—this wasn’t submission. He pulled back and hotly kissed her neck while his pulled up on the bottom of her shirt over her head, he moved his head back, so he wasn’t in the way. Rhys moved back in and kissed her, but then stopped and he met her gaze. ”Take it all off.” He demanded in a low voice but still exacting. ”Now.” He didn’t care that they were in the kitchen, he didn’t know if the would move somewhere else, the extent of his plan didn’t have those details yet but he didn’t care.

Once their patience broke, it really broke. It didn't matter where they were at the time. Just like that first night when they couldn't even make it to his bedroom. Alone, Maria was an aggressive person. But Rhys fought her at every step. Trying to assert his own dominance. While their patience was broken, neither of their wills were, and that's what fueled them. What made this so addictive. It was the ultimate high.
Rhys pulled her to the edge of the counter and she wrapped her legs around his waist. She hadn't let go of his shirt, but she did shift her grip just a bit as he removed his jacket and tossed it. His hands worked their way from her thighs to her hips, and she moved into the touch, desperate for more. Maria almost growled when he broke the kiss, but the growl turned into a gasp and she tilted her head a little, and her hands fumbled for something else to grab onto, something that wasn't flimsy, useless, clothing. But he'd beat her to it, yanking her own shirt up and pulling back only so that he could get it over her head. She didn't fight it, instead immediately struggling to free her arms of the sleeves and tossing the article out of sight and mind.
The most frustrating moment was that, just before kissing her again... he stopped. Maria's eyes flashed with rage. Why the hell was he stopping? Then, he spoke, demanding she take it all off. Oh, she wanted to defy him. It was her nature to defy him. To make him fight for ever little thing. But it was the way that he said it. That low tone in his voice. What she did next would probably surprise him. Because just like she expected herself to defy him, he should expect it as well. But she didn't. Instead she stopped trying to fumble with his own clothing and reached behind her back to unsnap her bra....
-Sorry kids, your innocence eyes cant' handle what happened after-
They had absolutely destroyed Maria's apartment. It was a good thing that Maria wasn't a sentimental person so everything that broke was of little value to her. There'd been this raw desperation between them, and Rhys' built up frustration had gotten the better of both of them. Where, perhaps for the first time Maria had lost total and complete control. She'd been entirely at his mercy all night, and he wasn't gentle. Maria, who called herself a ruthless lover, had even been shocked at just how far over the edge they'd gone. Was this how people felt with her? Just that total dominance, unable to stop anything that happened? While she didn't think she'd like it as a permanent, constant, thing it was a new and exciting thrill. She didn't even realize in the moment the amount of trust it took for her to give in like she had.
They'd never even made it to Maria's bedroom. Neither of them had really been willing, or even able, to stumble to the room. The coffee table had been shoved carelessly to the side and a makeshift bed of blankets and pillows from the couch was strewn across the floor. While it couldn't have been the most comfortable, the two bodies tangles in the blankets were sound asleep. Maria lay on her side, her head on his arm like a pillow. Rhys lay right up against her, the other arm draped across her waist, and their legs were a tangled mess. Even in the pitch blackness of pre-dawn the growing bruise son both of them were prominent.
