▲ November 1st, 2025 Steve was bored. And when he was bored, he tried to make the rounds on his half-vampire friends, always hoping one of them was free to hang out. His sister had been off doing her own thing since the summer, which was sort of a bummer since they were typically attached at the hip, but that was Nora in a nutshell. Getting in the way of whatever she was doing was more likely to spell doom than anything else. That only left two other options: Zen and Thursday. While he had only met the latter over the summer, Steve had been transfixed by her massive collection of video games and movies. It was a dream come true. So much so, that he had left the Weekly party, went straight home, got in trouble for going to a party (and managed to cover for Nora at the same time, even though she had snuck out too), and then got on his hands and knees and begged for one of the enchanted cell phones. With his sister’s aid, they were required to split it, but Nora neither cared about it, nor had any interest, instead requesting one of his guns that their dad had gotten him one birthday. Steve had no qualms about that, and made the exchange immediately. Now he was the proud owner of an enchanted cellphone and had no idea what to do with it. The start of the fall term had kept him from really interacting with anyone, and then the Halloween season hit and he became completely engrossed in the zombie island thing, attempting to go as many times as humanely possible without letting his grades drop too much. A few aggressive letters and a howler later from his mom and he was back on track. But that was boring, so that was why he was perched on a railing across from the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, asking every person that entered and exited if either Zen or Thursday were inside. A lot of resounding no’s and weird looks told him that maybe it was a little creepy he had been sitting there for hours without either of them showing up, but he didn’t really care. Eventually one of them had to show up since they slept there, so it was all a waiting game. To pass the time, he was watching a movie on his brand new used enchanted phone at full volume, only lifting his head whenever he saw someone walk towards or from the common room entrance. @thursday ● 425 ● When Did I Lose It All by Pale Waves MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Thursday didn't know many other half vampires at school. She had felt very much like the only one. But last summer had changed that. She had met a half vampire boy at her brothers party. She enjoyed spending time with him, but perhaps her favorite thing about meeting the boy was that she felt much less alone.
She hadn't seen the boy much sense school had started. But they were in different houses, and Thursday had been, in true Revenclaw fashion, getting ahead in class work, asking for extra credit, and in her free time, working on her game. Working with that, and with her demons peaking, there seemed to be no time for people. She had only had sparse interactions with family, and maybe some friends. Things were still hard, but she was getting better at hiding it. That simply meant that it was lessening little by little.
Thursday sat on her bed, dutifully typing away in a language that no one at this school would understand. Unfortunately she had come across a number of issues, but couldn't reach out to others for help until she left school on a break. The girl had tried not to let that discourage her. So she would move to something else. It was getting to the point that she needed to step away for a break. That was when she heard about the creepy Gryffindor asking about her at the door. The girl who told her had entered a little bit a go, only going up to the dorm room after she found a specific book in the common room. She shut her laptop and shoved it in her semi empty school bag before heading down. Her curiosity was peaked. It could be Friday. She could see her brother doing that, probably checking up on her.
She exited the common room and was surprised to see Steve, the half vampire boy that she had met this summer. She gave an amused chuckle "How long have you been out here?" She wondered if there was a quantifiable amount of time for this behavior to be classified as "creepy" or if it was just based off of perspective.

▲ With afternoon growing longer, Steve was starting to get tired of waiting. He had been there for easily over four hours now, having almost gotten through the entirety of a second movie. There were some Ravenclaws that had left near the start of his vigil, and were now returning from wherever they had been for the last couple of hours. That didn’t stop him from asking about Zen and Thursday, because at this point there was a better chance that they were somewhere else in the castle. The odds of one of these Ravenclaws bumping into his friends elsewhere was increasing with every passing minute. It had been a couple of minutes since the last Ravenclaw stepped by Steve and entered the common room. He made sure the girl knew who it was he was asking for, but he was positive that it wasn’t going to work. See, the look of confusion and then disgust on her face told him everything. Steve then, never knowing when to stop, asked her if he had some blood still on his face from lunch, and that really sealed the deal. He could almost swear that he heard her dry-heaving from his comment as she stepped into the common room, though it was hard to hear anything over the booming fight scenes coming from the movie on his phone. He almost felt bad about what he had said, but it had been an honest question on his part. Blood liked to smear, and it was hard to drink it from the blood bags the school provided sometimes. It especially liked to shine on his pale skin, no thanks to the inability of obtaining a tan. He paused his movie in order to pull up the camera on his phone, and used it to double-check that there wasn’t any blood. There wasn’t, thankfully, because that would have explained a lot more about the Ravenclaw students’ apprehension in helping him. The most recent girl’s horror probably had to do with the fact that he said blood and lunch in the same breath, which he could see why she was sort of skeeved out. As he was doing the check on his face, the door to the common room opened. He peered over the top edge of his phone and saw that it was Thursday! So she had been in there the whole time! “Couple of hours. Been watching movies while I asked people if you or one of my other friends were in there,” he explained as he stuffed his phone back in his pocket. “I’ve been watching 80s action movies the whole time. Your housemates aren’t exactly the most helpful people in the world.” If this had been Gryffindor, the first person he asked probably would have let him into the common room or screamed at the top of their lungs for who he wanted to talk to. The Ravenclaws were a little cagier, and certainly weren’t as warm as the ones he was friends with. @thursday ● 501 ● Friday I'm In Love by Phoebe Bridgers MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Hearing that someone was looking for her just outside the house entrance wasn't a surprise. Thursday had seven other siblings, six of which were in the other 3 houses. The class mate told her that it was "some Gryffindor boy" so her mind first went to Friday. The girl stepped her bag around her shoulder, feeling the weight of her laptop, a few books and some parchment she made her way down to the door.
Seeing that it was not Friday, but her new half vampire friend Steve, she was happy. It was good to see him, and it shoed that he remembered her. Wondering how long it took to be labeled "creepy" she asked how long he had been there. She had been in there for most of the day. And according to him, he had been waiting for a couple of hours. She felt a little bad, but the small pink haired girl had been in the zone. "Sorry about that. It's possible that no one knew I was up there. I have a talent for sneaking around.....without trying" she apologized. She was used to being fading in the background, sometimes she felt invisible. Had she been in the common room, she would have been out sooner, but she felt like it was better to work on her video game in the comfort of her dorm bed. It provided comfort, and much less questions.
"There's a lot of book smarts in there, Just about everyone is busy doing class work or studying for end of year exams." She gave a shrug, knowing that was exactly her as well. She definitely fit into the house.

▲ Steve waved her apology away. That sort of thing wasn’t necessary, since he hadn’t really made a full effort at getting either her or Zen out. If that had been the case, he probably would have just tried to follow someone into the common room. The last he checked, there wasn’t an explicit rule stating that people from other houses weren’t allowed to enter the other common rooms. If there was one, he purposely ignored it. The actual dorm rooms were one thing, but the common rooms were all pretty unique and cool on their own. “Don’t worry about it,” he said in his worst attempt at a New York accent that he could muster. “Been meaning to catch up on some of these for a while now. It was a well needed break.” Hogwarts was like a nightmare at times for him, since a lot of his prior schooling had been done at home or within the local magical community back in Canada. Especially the almost infinite amount of reading that the professors required. He still didn’t understand that at all, especially when practical classes looked like they always worked better for his classmates. “Maybe they can like, transfer some of that to me,” Steve laughed. “I’m not good for much that isn’t a physical activity that takes place at night.” But Thursday understood that. There wasn’t much that their kind could do during the day without consequences, and while it wasn’t nearly as bad as being a full vampire, there were still problems here and there. “Wait,” Steve held his hand out at her in a stop motion, “Did you say end of year exams? Already? Dude, we’re not even at Christmas yet. What is there to study for?” It wasn’t like every class had end of term stuff, and if they did, even that wasn’t too difficult. Even for him. But if this was for the spring term, end of year stuff, it really changed his perception of the Ravenclaws. @thursday ● 333 ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

The boy waved off her apoloy, and Thursday smiled. He was nice. She tried not to calculate in her head the amount of time that he had been waiting. She tried really hard not to think that she was the reason he had been sitting out here. It was all her fault. No! He said not to worry about it....but the small pink haired girl was really good at worrying.
Luckily Steve was there, and his positive, jokester attitude helped pull her mind away from the swirling guilt. She laughed when she mentioned transferring book smarts from the Ravenclaw's to him. "Well if you want, I can help you study" To say the girl was ahead of her school work was beyond true. She was acing all her classes, but still often asked her professors for extra credit, or if she felt confident enough, the next weeks list of assignments.
It did seem that he caught on to the fullness of what she said a bit late. She laughed. She shifted a little, clasping her hands together, looking just about ever were but at Steve. "Well, there are lots of books, and reading through the required books don't always seem to answer everything, and well, I can't speak for the others, but I read through all of them before the end of September, but it's not like I didn't have questions, i wrote them in the book, or asked the teachers, even if we haven't covered it, but maybe......" She trailed off, she realized that she wasn't classified as "normal" with her reading and knowledge, but she loved to learn and study, offering to help her siblings, even those taking their NEWT level exams at the end of the year.

▲ Getting help on his classes would be preferable to the wrath that his mom would unleash on him if he went home with awful mid-year grades. He wasn’t failing by any means – he just needed to get his grades higher than they currently were. Apparently copying off of Nora wasn’t the smartest thing to do anymore. They had sort of tag-teamed their homework sixth year, but that was harder to do now that they were in different NEWT-level classes. That and Professor Zabini didn’t like him at all. Even though Steve was pretty sure he was doing fine in Defense Against the Dark Arts, the professor seemed to have it out for him. He couldn’t so much as lean back in his chair without a glare. His classmates were in the same situation, of course, and yet Steve felt like he was always drawing most of the attention to himself. The only saving grace was that Lily Potter was held back, and she seemed to draw the professor’s ire more often than not. It didn’t help that they were almost always both late, and forced to sit next to each other either. The real question here though, was whether or not Thursday could actually help him. The difference between sixth and seventh year work wasn’t that much. Steve liked to think seventh was almost easier, except for the fact that he was stuck studying more than doing actual homework. That was the part he disliked the most. “So like, you have a whole bunch of studying techniques that work?” he asked her. Reading entire books just to study for one subject seemed like a little overkill for him personally, but if it worked, it worked. Steve enjoyed making study guides and then never looking at them before the test in question. “No-maj school was a lot easier to be honest. Being thrown right into Hogwarts like this has made it hard with trying to catch up.” He still knew a lot, thanks to his parents and the magical community he grew up in, but Hogwarts still made it difficult. @thursday ● 349 ● Delirium by Earth Eater MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Thursday was a bright girl, though she was very quiet in class. Often knowing the answers to the questions asked, though she didn't always raise her hand. She had read all the required books, some more than once. Offering the boy help with studying was simple. He was a friend of hers. Even if she was a year younger. She already had plans to help her older siblings study for their exams. She would even help Sunday with his OWL. All they had to do was ask her.
He asked about studying techniques and she nodded. "Little songs, and other mnemonic devices to help remember potion ingredients and usage of spells." It also helped that she had a good memory and a knack for learning. He mentioned the difference of no-maj school and then jumping to Hogwarts. She understood that change could be hard. The start of each year always seemed hard for her. "I'm usually well caught up with my school work, so I'm usually free."

▲ He had absolutely no idea what a mnemonic device was, or even how to spell it, but if Thursday seemed to think it worked, then he was definitely going to look up what it actually was. Songs were easy enough, but Steve knew himself too well. The second he started humming a song that was basically it for him and he was going to want to listen to actual music. Then any thought of studying could be thrown out the window. Once he was locked in, he was locked in. The best thing for him would probably be a padded cell away from the rest of the school and any possible distractions that could come around. His sister especially. Nora was queen of the distractions, and avoiding her like the plague was the only way to ever get any work done. She was fortunately gifted with the ability to not need to study. Complete opposites despite being twins. Who would have thought? “Even when I have work, I’m still free,” Steve laughed. “All work and no play, you know? Can’t do my best without having time to kill here and there.” He hadn’t seen any reason to change his methods from no-maj school to Hogwarts, since they had always sort of worked for him there. Now everything was simply more focused on magic than it was on mathematics. At least now he understood why things worked the way they did, as opposed to algebra. “So are you free right now? Take a break from all that boring studying stuff?” he asked her. “Final exams are months away anyways. Thursday laughed at her friend, he sounded an awful lot like her some of her brothers. Maybe that was why she liked penning time with him. Of cores, that was apart from him also being a half vampire like she was. "Don't you have NEWT's at the end of the school year?" She said in a teasing manner. If she remembered right, the boy was a year older than she was. While she technically had a "break year" one without any massive test put on by the Ministry.
He asked her if she was free and she nodded. "I was just up there working on my game. Could use a break." she smiled at him. "What did you have in mind?" Thursday wasn't the best at down time around school.

▲ NEWTs this, NEWTs that. That was all the professors seemed to talk about these days. Steve had yet to actually take any sort of critical exam at Hogwarts, having missed out on the OWLs during fifth year. According to the testing that he and Nora had been put through prior to moving to London and attending Hogwarts, the only NEWT level classes he could be in were Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Which honestly suited him just fine. Being somewhat of half a dark creature himself, the latter fit him perfectly. He knew all about both classes thanks to his parents, and while his potions ability lay more along the lines of alchemy (thanks to his dad’s career and interests), everything else that Hogwarts offered at higher levels was almost impossible without the fifth year curriculum. That was the unfortunate part of playing catch up with his good old home-schooling. He shrugged at Thursday’s comment about the exams, “Yeah but I’m not too worried about them. Even if I get low marks, they aren’t going to affect whatever I do after I graduate. They’re more of a formality since I started school so late,” Steve explained. Professor Zabini certainly didn’t like his demeanor, but the fact that Steve was a prime example when refreshing vampires and other demi-human species, he was almost required for the class. The professor definitely tried not to use Lily Potter, who was even more of a distraction in the class than Steve was. Sometimes they raced to see who could be last in their seats by the start. Thursday said that she could do with a break, having been working on her game. He remembered her mentioning that at the party over the summer, but figured it wouldn’t be in his hands to test until it was fully finished. As for what they could do now, Steve had no idea. His entire afternoon had been spent watching movies, and whatever he had initially planned if he found Thursday or Zen was completely forgotten by now. “Let’s see…” he started to think as he got to his feet. Improvising was basically his middle name by now. “It was pretty nice out the last time I looked out a window. Could go up to the Astronomy Tower?” Then they wouldn’t have to worry about being under direct sunlight and start burning. @thursday ● 396 ● Your Betrayal by Bullet For My Valentine MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Newts were important to Thursday. Well, not the exam or the marks themselves. She didn't need them for what she planned to do with her life after school. What was important to her was the learning. Now was the time for her to get as much information as she could. Studying and asking questions made sense. And sometimes, her life didn't. She was a half-vampire who was put into foster care from birth, she didn't know much about her biological parents, but her mother and father since the age of two were so good to her. But there was still times when she didn't quite feel like she belonged. She had a couple of werewolf brothers, but didn't know many part or full vampires. And even so, she didn't fully know where she came from. She wanted to know, but also didn't. Her studies at Hogwarts made logical sense. Her studies never failed her. Steve didn't see too concerned about the exams, and that was his choice. "What do you plan to do after school?" She had heard that there were some careers that required good NEWT marks. But that was mostly if you were going to stay within the magical world.
She left the plans up to Steve. He seemed to know more about "hanging out" than she did. She spent most of her time at Hogwarts studying, researching, or scripting. She spent time with her siblings and friends, but mostly during meal time, or study time. Her smile grew as he mentioned the Astronomy Tower. Thursday loved heights. She nodded. "That sounds great! And we can look over the grounds, and even see the stars when it gets darker." It was also a good way to avoid the bright setting sun. She thought for a moment, mentally mapping out the best path to take before finally speaking. "I know a good path to get there too." She was sure that he did to, but her path meant that there was less of a chance in running into any bully or unpleasant ghost. Sure, there were factors that one couldn't count on, but she was fairly confident.

▲ An excellent question from Thursday! What did he want to do after school? There were a million and one different jobs that Steve figured would fit him perfectly, though selecting ‘the one’ would certainly take a bit of time. First off, he needed something that would be fine with him acting like a screwball. The Ministry seemed too stiff for him in that instance, even his mom agreed on that. The blood bank was definitely a place he could deal with, and since he was only half-vampire, working during the day wouldn’t be nearly as bad as it would be for the full-fledged ones. Realistically? Steve knew he was going to graduate, lay around for a few months, and then just look for odd jobs. There were plenty of those both here in the Diagon Alley area and Hogsmeade, as well as back home in Canada. If he really wanted to he could go back home. While it would be the furthest from his parents he would ever be, that wasn’t inherently a bad thing. “No clue!” he answered honestly. “Something that has a night shift preferably. You know how it is.” Or a job that kept him inside all day. Steve liked the night though, so being a waiter or along those lines would fit him perfectly. Especially if he got to talk to people as much as he wanted. Staying up on the tower until it was night sounded great. Definitely cold, but still a good idea. The fact that Hogwarts was out in the middle of nowhere Scotland really helped when it came to stargazing, though it wasn’t anywhere close to what he had back home in Canada. That was on a completely different level from here. “I’m sold!” he said cheerfully. “Lead the way!”@thursday ● 298 ● Afterglow by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Ever since she started learning the art of scripting video games, Thursday knew exactly what she wanted to do when she graduated. In fact, she had already started working on her first one. And lucky for her, she didn't have to worry about money for a while, maybe ever. She could simply do what she loved. Though she wasn't sold on the idea of staying at home. But she wasn't sure if she would be able to mentally be able to make it on her own with out help. She had relied on her siblings for so much. It seemed as the boy was different form her, he didn't have an idea. She figured there were loads that were like him, about to go out into the world, in a year or two, and had no idea what they were going to do. She nodded. Being part vampire did make things difficult. Not as bad as being a werewolf, or so she had read. But the light was still hard on them. She didn't go out during the day unless she needed to, and when she did, she always had a pair of dark sunglasses at hand.
Gong to the Astronomy tower sounded perfect. Thursday loved heights, and the fresh air would probably do her some good. As much as she loved her dorm, the common room, and the library, they did tend to become stuffy. The girl lead the way. She could mentally map out a path to anywhere. Actually, she could figure out multiple routes to the same place. As such, she led him the fastest, with a few hidden pathways that older students and siblings had shown her. Once up in the tallest tower, it was clear the open chilled air. She moved to the opening and looked around. "Lucky no one else is here." She wouldn't have been surprised to find a professor, or even a student working or prepping to do their homework once the sun set and the sky became clear. "I love how you can just see everything" She smiled at Steve.

▲ He didn’t know if Ilvermorny was also a castle or had as confusing corridors and stairwells that led to nowhere like Hogwarts, but he happily followed Thursday on the path that she deemed the way towards the Astronomy Tower. There were a number of narrow passageways that could have probably been described as secret, Steve making a mental note of them in case he ever needed to escape from Astronomy class in a flash or wanted to sneak out late at night. Weirdly there seemed to be a little leniency with him due to the whole half-vampire bit. Sometimes he just needed to stretch his legs and unnatural senses in the pitch black of night. Aside from that and the occasional need for blood, they were harmless. The school still wanted to accompany that as best as they could though and he was absolutely happy to exercise his rights to the castle in the late evening. Utilizing these dusty passes between floors and around classrooms was perfect for that sort of thing too, even if he wasn’t going to get fully in trouble for it. Because of Thursday’s prime routing, the trip to the Astronomy Tower was expeditiously completed, and he couldn’t believe how quickly it had gone by. “You’re going to have to tell me the fastest way to the kitchens after this,” Steve joked, though actually liked the sound of it now that he had said it. Sliding down the stairs on a mattress or along the railings was still going to be met with resistance by crowds of students, sets of armor perfectly placed on stairwell landings, or professors. Now that sort of thing he would get a detention or two for. Absolutely worth it of course, but spit-shining the trophy room or shoveling dirt at the greenhouses level of detention. Steve stepped out onto the tower landing, following Thursday through the opening, and was likewise shocked to see that no one else was up there. It was the perfect day to be outside! The fact that they would have it all to themselves was surprising. “My mom hated when Nora and I would climb the pine trees in the woods behind our house back home,” he responded to Thursday with his own story. “But we could never get this high up without a broom. And even then we’d get yelled at about no-majs seeing us.” Even with their mom being asleep during the majority of the day, she still had that sense to know when he and his sister were up to no good. She always found out, no matter how hard they tried to pretend they hadn’t done something stupid. @thursday ● 445 ● peace by Taylor Swift MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
