Thursday had learned all the little secret passage ways that she could when first coming to this school. Being in one of the towers made it quite difficult to get from the common room to the other end of the school for class. That meant that any little short cut she could find, she did. Well, it was like she was finding them herself, more like her siblings and fellow classmates told her about them. In a way, the dark, small passage ways were comforting to the part vampire. She always felt more secure in tighter quarters. She also loved higher places as well. A lot of the thigs that came from being half vampire, the girl had to learn form her non vampire adoptive mother and father. Part of her always felt like part of her was missing. Or rather, there was a large question mark imprinted in with her identity. She knew that her birth father had been a vampire, and that he was diseased. But she didn't know much more about him. As far as she knew, that was where her paternal birth branch on her tree went.
The trip to the Astronomy tower had been fairly quick, and the boy mentioned needing to learn the fastest way to the kitchen. Thursday couldn't help but smile. She, like this other part vampire boy, had quite the sweet tooth. Sure, she didn't regularly go down to the kitchen on her own, but she had made her way down there a few times. "Yea, I can show you a few more passage ways that I know if." She beamed. She was a quick study, and learned easily though observance as well. Some passages that she knew of, she hadn't been told, just seen someone else used them. Then at a later time, she allowed her curiosity to get the better of her. And she didn't mind the idea of going to the kitchen for some unscheduled sweets. That made her remember the decadent cake they had demolished upon their first meeting.
The Astronomy tower was empty, which was surprising, but was nice. The girl wasn't the best at big groups. The open air space was the perfect temperature. It was no wonder that there was no one there. Most likely everyone who heard the call of autumn had gone out. Sure, there was a bit of a bite to the air, but it was still quite nice. There still wasn't anyone there, not even up to prepare for their class assignment. But all thoughts of course work left the little Ravenclaw when Steve mentioned how he and his sister would always climb trees. She laughed. "I did the same thing. My mom always hated it, especially when I was in a dress." Thursday was never one for wearing dresses. She much preferred borrowing, or stealing, her brothers cloths. She move to the rail to look around, feeling no fear of how high they were. The boy also mentioned flying on brooms for height as well. She agreed again "Yea, we can't fly too high either. Way too many neighbors and pedestrians wondering around." She didn't mention that she lived in Beverly Hills, California. She didn't like shoving her money in others faces. She had been adopted by luck.

▲ With this being his second year at Hogwarts now, Steve knew that he probably should have known of more of the easy passages around the castle. They were indispensable shortcuts that made skirting around the student population between classes possible. The two or three that he was aware of – back staircases or alternate exits to the grounds – always had a few people wandering through them. Typically they were used by fifth years and up, and from he could gather, that was because their time tables for classes allowed them to be in a lot weirder locations. Having to go from, say, the Divination classroom down to the grounds for Care of Magical Creatures meant either traversing the entirety of the moving stairwell or the alternate back stairs that essentially led to the ground floor. The only problem that could come of using a corridor like that was if too many students tried to take it at once. Getting jammed up in that area was basically asking for someone to start shooting red sparks around for fun, and then chaos would ensue. Surprisingly he had never been the one to initiate that. Seeing the Astronomy Tower empty shouldn’t have been as shocking as it was to him, now that he had fully stepped out and had a chance to look around the entire platform. The cold breeze that passed through it chilled him instantly, and he now wished that he had thought about the location a little better. The tower was close enough to the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw towers, at least compared to the rest of the castle, and he realized that he should have taken a quick detour to grab a sweater. It could have been worse though. The sun was peeking from behind the clouds but not enough to where it was going to be detrimental to either of them. If only there was a way as a half-vampire to tan nicely, instead of going from pasty white to enflamed, bubbly burned red. “That had to have made it easier to climb though,” Steve mused when Thursday mentioned getting in trouble for trying to scale trees with a dress on. “Your legs were uninhibited by pants. I always found climbing to be easier in shorts because of that.” Of course that meant he was always covered in cuts and scrapes from branches puncturing him as he climbed. Nothing a charm or two couldn’t fix though. Having zero consequences from that was sort of nice. The only true danger was falling, but that would have never happened. He and Nora were too smart to climb higher than they feasibly could. “You guys live in a city or the country?” Steve asked. “Because that absolutely makes a difference with the no-majs.” Apparently. @thursday ● 461 ● Amelia by Skott MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Thursday was glad that the Astronomy Tower was empty. She wasn't one for big groups. The vampire wasn't the biggest fan of the cold, but it was nice to get out of the dorm for a while. Being high up was always a great feeling too. She e mentioned climbing even in a dress. Steve mentioned how it had to have made it easier. and Thursday could only laugh. "Guess it depended on the dress. Some had a bit of a learning curve." She was always happy to reminisce. She also loved having a friend who was also part-vampire. "But I'd much rather climb in pants or shorts. Just try climbing with a band that wraps around the entirety of your thighs and get back to me." She had always been more of a tomboy, she never really liked skirts or dresses. Though it she didn't feel much like wearing pants, she'd prefer one of her brothers shirts as a sort of dress to an actual dress. True, climbing trees could give you scrapes, but that didn't bother her either. Though her mother was quick to heal any that she had earned.
He asked if she was in a city or country and she shrugged. "City. And there's a high no-maj tourist factor too." She gave a forlorn sigh. Not that she was complaining or anything. She loved her life, home and her family. And it made since where they lived, especially when you took into account that her mother was an actress.

▲ Dresses had a learning curve to them? What on earth had Mrs. Weekly put Thursday through if there were dresses like that in her wardrobe? Did they have giant hoops on them or something? His imagination was running wild on what sort of dress could look like that, and then Thursday sort of filled in the gaps with her description of it. Steve's mouth immediately went into an 'ahh' shape as he understood now. "Like trying to walk with one of those exercise bands around your hips, yeah?" He had never worn a dress, obviously, and he didn't think Nora ever had either. Nice clothes really didn't exist in their household because they simply weren't necessary. Living in the woods inside a small town kept the Kolstads out of situations that required them, and the need for three of the four family members to drink blood regularly severely limited the quality of the clothes they were willing to stain. Magic fixed all, of course, but that was extra work and he was sure his mom did it because it taught he and Nora better blood drinking manners. No one wanted a sloppy drinker, and the consistency was already weird enough when it got on the face. "Nice." He said lamely. She was part of what they called back home city-folk. Steve had never contributed to that sentiment since his family had the magical community to dip into and his parents weren't originally from Canada. But that didn't stop the no-majs from sounding like a bunch of backwoods hillbillies on occasion. "My town is super small. I think more than half of it is magical folk, but we all play it off like we're normal people," Steve explained. "Mom's cover was that she worked the night shift online for some international company. They always bought that one." It was hilarious how simple a lot of the no-maj were. If they didn't delve deep enough, they were fine with their surface level questions being answered. They didn't need to know the Kolstads had a fridge full of blood bags in their basement. Explaining that was basically impossible. @thursday ● 355 ● Splash Mountain Medley MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
