Maria hadn't necessarily planned on coming to the party. Too formal and stuck up for her taste. Nah, Maria was more of the "wild" sort. Low lights, little clothing, and blaring music. But, Emrys had texted her and... and well it'd been a while since she got into any trouble. Sure, she couldn't drink.. but there was plenty else she could do. Like help Emrys escape his manager. Plus, it gave her a reason to dress up. Been a while since she'd had a chance to do that. Though, most her clothing wasn't very "winter appropriate". The dress she chose to wear was a low cut, strapless, and exceptionally short dress that was form fitting. It definitely turned a few heads in her direction. 

She'd arrived only a few moments ago, intentionally a little late so that the party would be in full swing by the time she arrived. Her dark gaze scanned the crowd. While she'd come mostly to cause some mayhem with Emrys, she was curious who else might be here that she knew. She didn't look that long though, as she spotted Emrys rather quickly. Aw, he was wearing a tuxedo. He hadn't seen her yet though, half turned away from her as he spoke with someone. Maria immediately smirked and made her way to him, casting flirty eyes everyone she passed. When she reached him she placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sooo sorry, do you mind if I steal him for a minute?" she spoke to whoever he'd been speaking to first, not bothering to greet Emrys yet. The person did a double take, looking the half veela up and down, before swallowing, nodding, and turning away. Maria grinned, finally looking at Emrys. "Enjoying the party?"

Being in the public eye was great. Emrys loved it. But one downfall was going to functions that he had no interest in. A royal ball was much to formal for him. Strong booze, loud music, and more than half naked people were what Emrys preferred to see when he went out to party. This was not that kind of function. This was one with important fans, along with muggle and magical diplomats. He had been told to behave. But before he had heard a word form his manager, he had started to text a good friend that he hadn't seen in a while. With her showing up, this night would be extremely interesting. Not even his manager would be able to stop them from having their usual brand of fun.

His normal style was quite relaxed. But functions like these he was told what to wear and how to look. Now, he was wearing a tux that had already had one readjustment since he arrived. He had put it back into place well enough for no one to notice. He did have to look his best for the evening. He was in the midst of a conversation that had quickly become rather dull. He noticed a familiar scent approaching. But with so many familiar people around, he couldn't pinpoint it. That was, until he felt a hand on his shoulder and that silky siren voice wishing to take him away form the present moment. His conversational partner was struck by her beauty and quickly agreed. Looking at Maria, Emrys immediately placed a hand down her back, rather low. Her curves a familiar landscape.

When they were finally alone, so to speak, she addressed him. "Enjoying the party?" He gave a toothy grin, moving his face scandalously close to hers. "All the more, now that your here."

Maria and Emrys had known each other since their seventh years, and all there really was between them was friendship... with a lot of benefits. His fame meant nothing to her, as she'd known him before all that. No, he'd been Emrys Holopainen when they met, not "Mordrain", as he liked to go by professionally now. Though, it was sort of fun to hang out in public places with him. Because she liked seeing how much attention she could get off him and onto herself. He was just as narcassistic as she was, so it was almost a game. A game she would most definitely win tonight. Because you didn't wear a dress like this to be ignored.

She turned towards him, closer then most would consider comfortable, head tilted slightly as they practically shared the same breath. The sudden closeness didn't bother Maria. With anyone, really, but Emrys in particular. "What, no groupies to keep you company before I got here?" She teased. She reached up with both hands to straighten his bowtie.

Emrys had an interesting relationship with Maria. They were extremely close, with absolutely zero commitment between them. The benefit was that he was never concerned by his fame. His money and talent meant nothing to her. They had known each other since before his fame. The two were an interesting pair. She often had just as many admirers as he did. They were a sight, especially out in public. The best part was that both loved the attention. He noted the promised "something extra short." It was exquisitely short, tight and eye catching. Not many others would dare to wear something like that to a formal ball put on by royalty.

She moved into him, and the two shared a very public, yet intimate moment. The tension making some uncomfortable, feeling as if they should look away. She moved to fix his bow tie. He closed what tiny space the two had between them, letting his hand dip further down, bringing the other onto her hip as if the two were going to dance. "They're around. But I guess they're too afraid of being Naughty. Especially tonight" He said, moving in to his her lightly on the neck.

Rhys placed an empty glass on the tray of a water walking by as he glanced to see if Renfri was still glaring gat him. She’d been keeping an eye on him since he’d spotted Deva earlier though she had been with her father and she he’d just glance occasionally, however as he glanced over a few minutes previously he didn’t see Deva, but he’d done a double take on who he had seen. Maria. He wasn’t sure if he was annoyed that she was here and hadn’t told him she was coming or the fact that she was fixing some man’s bowtie and he seemed eager to have her in his space. Rhys fixed his tie, a habit at this point and casually made his way over, approaching the pair from the side. ”Maria.” He spoke to announce his presence.

Her choice of outfit for the night had not gone unnoticed by him, he’d noticed all that exposed skin from where he had been before until he had realized it was, in fact, the mother of his child. ”Didn’t know you were coming to this.” Rhys had a bit of a difficult time looking away as he looked at the man she had been talking to. ”And you are?” He didn’t look familiar to him at all, but there were individuals from all different walks of life here. The champagne he’d managed to drink while Renfri hadn’t been looking and passing around the flask had left him with a tiny bit of a buzz, enough to be comfortable and still in control but not enough for his liking in general.

Of course, Maria and Emrys wouldn't actually do anything at the party. Nah, just give a few people some panic attacks, particularly his manager. No doubt the manager would recognize Maria on sight and it would send them into a fit. Nothing good ever happened when Emrys and Maria were together. Which was exactly the point. Emrys had practically begged her to get him in trouble tonight, though he hadn't specifically said that. He wouldn't have texted her if he didn't want quite a bit of trouble. Emrys hand was still at her back, though almost scandalously low, and the other now rested at her hip. She laughed softly at his words. "Keep your fangs to yourself, Emrys, someone might think you were desperate." She teased, then winked. "Plenty of time for that later."

Though, then a very familiar, but surprising voice from behind. Maria couldn't help the surprised look as she turned in Emrys arms, practically leaning against him as she looked at Rhys. Ah, such a complicated relationship that was. She took Emrys' hands, moving them back to her hips, and leaned a little more into him. "What, and miss a fabulous party?" She tried to sound offended, though Rhys had known she wasn't planning on coming. As he spoke to Emrys, she smiled, turning her head so she could look back at her friend. "Rhys, meet Emrys. Emrys, Rhys." she paused, thinking. "Wait, don't you go by that ridiculous name now? What was it... Morgan?" She was teasing him. Of course she knew what name he performed under.

While the two were physically close, this was just the beginning. The real fun would happen behind closed doors. They wouldn't do anything too inappropriate. But the looks on people faces was totally worth it. He could just imagine his seething manager. Not wanting to break his own reputation, but simply dying at the look of the two of them together. His manager knew Maria, and after this, he would most likely do everything he could to keep them apart during important functions. He only slightly pulled back as she spoke. Softly replying "If I was desperate, we wouldn't still be here." He liked the promise of "later." It had been some time since he had fed, and drinking from the source, especially out in public, he was forced to take less than enough. He was starting to feel a bit more puckish than he had before.

But their interaction was disrupted by an unfamiliar voice. Maria turned in his arms and leaned against him. He let his hands stay where they were, feeling her against him as he looked at quite a scruffy looking man. From the sound of it, he knew exactly who she was. And it seemed as though they had some sort of relationship. That didn't bother Emrys, he didn't care. Maria and he had an agreement, an understanding. He wondered if this guy had the same understanding. She introduced the two. So his name was Rhys? He also caught the woman's teasing, which was natural. "Emrys is fine. Mordrain is just for my solo albums." He said nonchalantly. As if it wasn't a big deal, though it sort of was. He gave a fanged smile to the man, and wrapped his arms around Maria, forcing her closer to him. "Pleasure to meet You Rhys."

She turned to face him but didn’t move away from the man and instead placed his hands on her hips, Rhys had to resist the urge to roll his eyes in annoyance. That’s what he felt, annoyance. It was true that they were not together in that sense and really the only reason they had reconnected at all had been the fac that she was pregnant, otherwise after the stunt he had pulled he was sure that she would have never spoken to him again. Emrys. They seemed comfortable, perhaps there was a history there that he wasn’t aware of yet, but he’d make a note to ask just out of curiosity when he had a chance later. This added to his urge to just turn around and only bother with the enchanted flask. It did seem, however, that she happened to find all the magical beings in her life—Rhys being a werewolf and Emrys a vampire.

”Nice to meet you, Emrys.” He was trying to be polite, as he told himself earlier, they were not together in anything exclusive, but he felt a sense of protectiveness at the moment. Maybe it was just the pregnancy, he didn’t quite know. He was a musician it seemed, though he’d never heard the name himself. ”So, old friends I assume?” Rhys knew what he was asking, and though they’d had a conversation about exes not long ago they hadn’t gone into histories per say. There probably wasn’t enough hours in the day to discuss both of their lives. Rhys looked away for a split second but only because a waiter happened to walk by with a tray of champagne flutes and offered it to the trio, Rhys happily grabbed one for himself and looked back. ”Well, I guess this night wouldn’t be as fun without something to drink. Don’t you agree, Maria?”

Maria knew Emrys'.. preferences. He'd willingly turned into a vampire just out of school. He strongly preferred to drink blood from people, however, instead of the blood bank. Something that Maria had helped him with.... once or twice. Though, considering her current situation that probably wouldn't be too advisable. Hm.. Thinking of that matter. Emrys would have to be told... eventually. Not tonight though. Maria still didn't have any plans to tell anyone yet about that particular issue.

Maria grinned as Emrys corrected her, and slightly flaunted the fact that he was a musician. "If you wrote a song about me sometime, I'd remember the name," she joked. Nah, she wasn't telling him to actually write a song about her. Though... She was a narcissist so she wouldn't complain if he did write one. The smile he gave Rhys, practically showing off his fangs, and wrapping his arms around her make her laugh softly. She didn't mind, just leaning back into him, her hands resting lightly on his arms. Rhys did not look too happy, which... was interesting. It made her want to tease him now too... "Known each other since the Tournament." No doubt there was a very sexual relationship between them, Maria unable to hide that slight tone to her voice. But it was actual... well, friendship. In some capacity. "Alas, friends is all we'll ever be. Emrys will always love his music far more then me," she feigned a heavy sigh, though her smirk gave away her actual feelings. Nah, clearly just friends. Friends with benefits.

His jab about the champagne almost made her scowl, her smirk twitching as she tried to keep it in place. Though she'd now fixed Rhys with a slight glare. "I'd rather not get Emrys drunk off my own intoxication later tonight." Okay, THAT, was a heavy innuendo. "Did you know that, Rhys? If a vampires feeds on someone that's been drinking, they can get drunk themselves."

Emrys was in the mood for fun. Flaunting his status, and his fangs were just a precursor. Maria only seemed to be fueling the flames. "If you wrote a song about me sometime, I'd remember the name," She knew the name that he went by. He knew that. But he would play along. "I just might. But we'll have to see how the night goes." He teased back, nibbling her ear just a bit, careful not to cut it on his fang. Honestly, he wouldn't wright a song about her. Something like that may just sound like a love song to her. If the wrong ears heard something like that, it might push them over the edge.

The man did seem nice enough. But that wouldn't stop Emrys' mood now, nothing would. She stated when they had first met, which was true. It had been some time, before his fame, and before he was even a vampire. It seemed as though the two had a perfect understanding about what it was they had between them. But not everything had to be shared with the public. "Why mess with a great thing" He said, hinting at the time they had spent together. He too smirked, what they had together was a great thing. Zero strings, with all the fun.

The man mentioned Maria not drinking, which was strange. But now wasn't the time for asking her questions. She was currently in his arms, pressed against him. He could ask after their fun, or she'd tell him when she was ready. It seemed to strike a cord, and hard. Her mood seemed to turn for the worst, though not in his direction. He liked the sound of him getting drunk off of her, that was always a fun game to play. He gave the man another toothy grin and a nod. Not many people would know that.

Her being here wasn’t unwanted though he could have hardly brought her as a date when he wasn’t supposed to be seeing her and let alone if one of his siblings showed up. Plus, it was a welcome distract to Deva being here, he hadn’t told Maria what happened and as far as she knew he’d just been drinking a lot more than usual or a lot more than she had noticed before since they saw each other more often. The tournament, so he had been a student around the same time as Maria, but he picked up on the implication that they had been friends but as much friends as Rhys and Maria were prior to them learning they were going to be parents. Rhys drank his champagne slowly though looking at her. She wasn’t going to say why she couldn’t drink in this venue but if she had her boy toy then he could have his alcohol freely where she couldn’t.

Even though he was plenty annoyed now especially as Emrys got close to her ear, much as Rhys might do if he felt so inclined to drag her somewhere private, but he didn’t want to cause any trouble as they both didn’t need that kind of attention. He smiled at him with fangs as if to only confirm Maria’s point, and he made the assumption that the vampire had fed off her before, and that idea also didn’t sit right with him especially considering her current physical state. Rhys shifted to his other foot and put his free hand in his pocket. ”I did, actually. I’ve met a handful of vampires in my work.” He added, though no vampire would ever want to feed on a werewolf. There was still quite a bit she didn’t know about him but also, he had to learn more about her, and this was added to that list. ”Just doesn’t seem like such a great idea. Wasn’t it just this morning you were saying how you weren’t…feeling well?” His eyes darkened a bit, not from anger but with suggestion. Rhys had seen her just this morning after all. This sparring between them was normal, though all that he’d drank was making him a bit more talkative than usual.

Maria and Emrys were very similar in personality. It'd been mentioned a number of times, and it was likely that reason Emrys' manager didn't like her. Because they were both trouble on their own. Together? Well, when you put two fires together, you got an even bigger fire. They were both chaotic people. Very sexually active, chaotic people. Of course they gravitated to each other, though again, never anything more then their current relationship. They'd never develop actual feelings for each other. They were both takers, so that meant they could only take so much from the other. They just simply weren't capable of falling for someone so similar to themselves. Plus, Emrys was perhaps one of the only people (though Rhys was now in this category, since their talk of ex's) that Maria was still very hung up on Viola.

It was so, so interesting. Rhys looked... riled up. In a very different way then usual. It made Maria especially curious. "That and your fangirls, or manager, would kill me if it did change." She laughed. Though it was very true. Emrys did have some rather.... intense fans. And his manager was, rightfully, worried about all the bad press Emrys got when they spent time together. "Speaking of your manager. I can't tell if they're mad at you, or themselves for letting you off your leash again." She tilted her head back against Emrys' chest, staring off across the room to the seething manager. Part of tonight had been to piss off the manager, after all. "How long do you think we have until they send your babysitters to fetch you?" Babysitters referred to the bodyguards the music label used to protect their musicians.

Oh, Rhys was gunna play that game, was he? Dropping hint after hint. Thankfully, Emrys was not clever enough to know what Rhys was actually trying to do. Emrys might think Rhys was jsut being jealous, which he was, but Emrys didn't know Maria was pregnant. Nor would he anytime soon. Not that he'd mind much, she assumed. So, Maria flashed him her most flirtatious smile. "Oh, you're absolutely right. Wouldn't want Emrys to catch anything. That's too bad, but doesn't mean we can't still have fun. You're welcome to join us, Rhys." Then, she turned her head to Emrys again, her flirtatious smile turned absolutely wicked. She whispered something in somewhat broken, but still understandable Finnish. Not a common one for her, but having been half raised in Sweden she'd picked up bits and pieces of the language since Sweden shared a border with Finland, plus Emrys had taught her some as well over the two years they'd known each other. Rhys knew Maria had a talent for languages, after all.

(eh, keeping the manager pretty gender neutral haha, since I don't know if I'mma make em as yet. Also BTW, Maria basically told Emrys that Rhys, sadly, probably wouldn't sleep with him, but he should still flirt to make Rhys hella uncomfortable.)

Emrys loved attention, and he could feel more and more eyes being drawn to the small group. More people curious as to what was going on. As things started to heat up, the boy could hear the mummers of some behind him. Some believing it to be some sort of love triangle, while others - who no doubt knew better - was sure that it was much more complex then that. He knew that his manager did what he could to prevent Emrys and Maria a lot of public time. They were dangerous together, and they fueled off of each other, only making things worse...for others around. They were fast friends. Nothing could come between them, because they were stagnant in their relationship. Both chaotic personalities.

Emrys couldn't help but laugh, he did have quite an interesting fan base. Many loved his music, more seemed to love his voice, and his looks. He fed off of this. Some, including one, seemed obsessed. His manager was about his music, but also did what they could to manage how the public saw him. It was a daunting task at best. "That's true, and what would I do when I got board then?" He had others to fill his time, but the man seemed to be getting more inflamed with every word. Getting reactions like this were always thrilling. A suggestive grin came on his face at the word "leash" thinking of their testing previously. But nonetheless, he moved his gaze away from the man to spot his manager not too far off. The look in their face was priceless. If his manager could ensure that he and Maria never saw each other again, they would do it. He thought about her question, analyzing the managers face and body language. "Just long enough to get away." He chuckled. Emrys was especially adept at getting away from his "babysitters." How else was he to have fun?

Emrys' did prefer blood warm and strait from a body. Though he was encouraged to hide this fact for the publics sake. Hiding it made since, well enough, people often seemed to be turned off by the thought of a vampire sucking a persons blood. That was why there was a blood bank. There was a level of surprise that Emrys felt when the other man expressed that he knew some vampires. While not unheard of, it was intriguing. Rhys seemed relentless, and wouldn't let this secret go. Apparently they had seen each other this morning. Who was he to care who she saw earlier? Feeling sick had little worry for the vampire. Emrys was less susceptible to getting sicknesses that regular wizards or muggles tended to get. Honestly, Emrys didn't really care. He just wanted to have fun. If whatever she had would prevent their fun, then she would tell him, if not, that was on her. He just didn't care.

Maria's smile sent Emrys a blaze. That meant that things were only going to get better from here. At her invitation for the man to join, Emrys scanned the man, starting from his feet, and slowly moving to his head. Making it very clear what he was thinking, he then licked his lips. Her look quickly changed his into something purely devilish. He heard some swoons (some fans loved it when he showed this side) and listened to her soft words. He understood, while broken and not perfect, he still understood what she had to say. His eyes now glued to the man, this was going to be fun. "Yes, why do you join us. See what kind of fun we can really have"

Rhys knew the look on Maria’s face, her entire attitude she was presenting to him. They had been around each other enough for him to recognize it. Just as he had at Zombie Island when she had let him win her little drinking game but never admitted to why, they both were individuals who liked to lose or not be in control. So, here they were at it again trying to control this particular moment and conversation but Emrys was on her said giving her a helping hand. He shifted onto his other foot uncomfortably, of course she would turn the conversation back to that. Rhys looked away, annoyed. These types of arguments or whatever they were didn’t always work in his favor because of a few reasons. The primary one being that they weren’t actually together, more like stuck with one another and the second was that Rhys had always been a bit of a possessive man. It wasn’t always rational, but he wasn’t one that ever liked to share despite what Maria’s preferences may have been and the less he knew then the less he was provoked.

Her affinity for languages had annoyed and impressed him all the same, and she tended to use it against him whenever she could as she did now. However, between Maria’s suggestion that he join their…whatever it was and the way he looked him up and down he fidgeted more where he stood. It wouldn’t have been the first time a man had, well, checked him out but it wasn’t something he was personally interested in. Rhys’ face showed his annoyance, he would have to remember this later when he had a private moment with Maria. She wanted to play? Fine, he could but not with a third wheel. ”Tempting, but I’ll have to pass. You’re not really my type.” He admitted as politely as he could manage to phrase that at the moment. He shifted again and glanced around, it seemed that whoever this vampire was had a lot of fans as they stared longingly at him while he was only focused on Maria. ”Looks like your fans are getting jealous.”

Maria knew he'd get a kick out of the "leash" comment. As they had been quite suggestively texted about that the night before. Maria wasn't exactly known for being tame in her sexual experiences, and neither was Emrys. So, obviously, they'd tried a variety of things the last two things, to keep it interesting and fun. "What, you only keep me around for when you're bored? I'm hurt." Of course, she really wasn't Because that was the nature of this. Bored, or feeling pent up. That's all their relationship was, really. Well, besides jsut trying to get in as much trouble as possible. Maria snickered as he mentioned having just enough time to get away, if the body guards tried to drag him back. They'd try, no doubt. But Maria and Emrys had gotten very good at evading them. "Sounds like fun." Though, they might have a bit more time before having to "run", because the record label probably wouldn't want to cause a bigger scene. No doubt his manager was trying to come up with a plan to separate them quietly, without drama.

Maria laughed as Emrys caught her meaning and joined in, and Rhys looked a touch uncomfortable. She knew he wasn't interested in men. "He might not, but I am," She responded as Rhys told Emrys he wasn't Rhys' type. While Maria didn't think she'd flat out told him she'd been in a number of threesomes, it probably wouldn't surprise him... Though considering how he always acted when her exploits where mentioned he wouldn't like it. "Who's going to stop him if we're alone and he gets thirsty tonight? Aren't you concerned?" Rhys had already made it clear that he didn't want Emrys feeding off her... So she couldn't help but make a jab at that. She was also intentionally poking at him, because he couldn't really do anything about it here. In private... well, she wouldn't be able to get away with teasing him so much. He mentioned the fans and she glanced in the direction he'd looked and smirked. "I bet I could make them even more jealous."
