December 28, 2025 TW/CW: substance usage
Emrys was in a MOOD! The Christmas Eve ball had been fun. But he had gotten in a great deal of trouble after words. Causing a scene like he did, along with making sure that Maria would be there, his Manager had cut him off. He wasn't able to go anywhere without two bodyguards. He had also been given extra work to do, writing songs, translating his existing ones and making them work with the already created melody. And if that wasn't enough, he was helping his band, going to rehearsals and having to attend meetings with his label. There was no time for clubs, no time for intimate connections, absolutely no drinking from living creatures, and his body guards were to keep all alcohol from his system.
Four days felt like a life time. He was going crazy. The only errand he was aloud was to make runs to Ripam De Sanguinem. According to his manager. His "grounding" would be over after he completed his next solo. He was getting there. Hopefully things would be done by the start of the new year.
With two burly men on either side of him, Emrys stood outside the blood bank with a cigarette lit. He had a hoodie on with the hood coverings his hair, the light of the bank shining hear him, but instead, he focused on the light at the end of the object in his mouth. He was antsy. Emrys thrived on fun and entertainment...Working all day was impossible for him. He did need blood, but he was holding out as long as he could. This was the only non-work related even that he was aloud to do. Once he had collected the blood he needed, he was supposed to head straight to his apartment. So, stalling was necessary. His phone had been confiscated, so he only hoped that something interesting would come along to help prolong his semi-freedom. For now, he had this wall, leaning against it, one foot up he searched for passers by that could be interesting.

December 28, 2025 The holiday season should have been a joyous occasion, but time had blurred considerably for Xiulan. She had grown used to that, though, watching the world from her flat, by and large, because there was more risk in going beyond it than not. In the spirit of the season, though, she had decided to give back. Donating money was one thing, and she was perfectly content to do that as long as it would remain completely anonymous, but she weighed the risks involved in going to the vampire blood bank for herself and decided to take that chance. Not being in the Muggle world, she would be comparatively safer if she were to fall into a trance, and remaining seated to donate blood meant that there would be less chance of injury. Besides, the hours were better for avoiding the public.
Xiulan arrived near the blood bank well after dark, wearing a heavy wool cloak over her robes and grateful for the warmth it provided her. It was late, and most of the lights around were off, from what she could tell, aside from some leftover Christmas lights that hadn't been taken down yet and continued to twinkle like stars in the night. The effect was beautiful but also somewhat eerie, seeing as she had found herself somewhere relatively deserted.
Walking closer to where she needed to be, Xiulan felt for her wand as she came upon the sight of three masculine figures in the dark, one illuminated casually by a cigarette. They were standing almost directly in front of the blood bank. Xiulan breathed in, unable to tell who they were, and let out that breath only to feel its contrast against the cold air around her. Even without the interference of her Inner Eye, she almost hated that she had decided to be charitable. She tried to remind herself why she had opted against simply slipping a number of Galleons into a pouch and sending it off to make some orphaned child's day without ever leaving her flat, but she came up short. No, Xiulan thought, she really had no good reason for being there, freezing, and going to donate blood, other than that she wasn't a terrible person.

It was his own doing, this punishment was all his work. He understood that. But all work, and no play....well it never ended well. He just had to finish his latest project, then he could go out and have fun like he used to. That was what the vampire kept telling himself. The two bodyguards was a bit excessive. And significantly harder to escape. He had tried. At this point, Emrys just figured that he would finish what was expected, then he could go back to his normal routine. Perhaps he could collaborate a little bit with Layla, and she could help him get out some pent up energy while they were at it. Unfortunately with no phone, he had no way of reaching out to her. He definitely know that Maria was off the table, especially after the scene they made at the ball.
As Emrys stood in the cold, he inhaled deeply, and released smoke as he exhaled. Not many people passed, given the late hour, and the temperature. But in time, a witch arrived, wearing quite a bulky cloak. Seemed like she was a traditionalist in that since. He expected her to just keep walking, but no, she stopped, looking at the odd scene that was his life. After inhaling one more time, he took the smoke out of his mouth, releasing another amount of smoke and smiled. "Looking for some fun, or just curious?"

December 28, 2025 Xiulan was more concerned with getting inside the blood bank and out of the cold, though there was something that felt awfully out of place to her about the three individuals standing there. It was the one in the middle—the one with the cigarette—who addressed her. Enough time had passed that any of the three of them had had ample time to attack her already, if that was their intention, though the middle figure spoke to her as though she had merely piqued his curiosity. "Looking for some fun," he asked her, "or just curious?"
Quickly, Xiulan shook her head. She didn't want "fun"; she wasn't there for that, and she hoped that he hadn't mistaken her for a prostitute. That was all she needed. "No, I—" She breathed out, trying not to let her discomfort show, though she knew that it must have been clear enough in her tone. It wasn't just that she had come across three unknown figures on a dark, cold night; she would have reacted that way in broad daylight, and she hated it. She could hardly step outside her flat without feeling as she did then, trapped in an open space without any means of escape. Even though her brain told her that she could have Disapparated away from there at any second, Xiulan continued to feel her heartbeat race inside her chest. "I'm looking for the blood bank," she answered more thoroughly, the typical confidence and clarity of her voice diminished. From the poshness of the accent in which she spoke English as an obvious marker of her social class to her being there alone, she doubted that she was the typical person who hung around the area.

Emrys was itching for a good time, and as the woman stammered, he gave an impish grin. It was obvious that she wasn't comfortable. She finally mentioned her destined location and Emrys went to kick off the wall, but both body guards moved an arm in front of him, causing an "x" to be pressed against his chest. The movement, forced him to stay on the wall.
With a heavy sigh, he released more smoke, and took the smoke out of his mouth. gesturing his head in one direction "Its the door right there." He took in more chemicals from the cigarette. "I could take you in if you want." He said, more suggestive. Just because his body guards wouldn't let him approach her like he normally would, didn't mean that he couldn't have his fun. His sharp red eyes watching his pray.

December 28, 2025 Xiulan's discomfort only grew as the individual with whom she was speaking was physically blocked from moving any farther from where he was standing by the two others who had been standing beside him. From what she could see, he didn't look to be under any magical restraints. It was possible, perhaps, that he was under the influence of something, though she didn't think that he was a criminal; the other two beside him would have had him more firmly under their control in that case… or so she hoped.
Still smoking, the stranger gestured towards the door to the blood bank and told her that it was there. He offered, too, to take her inside, but Xiulan shook her head. The tone that he used was unnerving, and it didn't help that the others on either side of him hadn't said a word. No, she thought, she didn't need him to take her inside. She was more than capable of going a few more steps and opening a door without help.
Feeling almost threatened, Xiulan's mind raced as she thought through where her wand was. "No," she paused, her voice brisk, "that's alright. Thank you." Her feet felt rooted to the ground, but she moved around towards the door of the blood bank, creating as much distance between herself and the strangers as she could.

If one was scared of the creatures of the night, then that one should be careful not to be around when they were. This woman seemed as skittish as a rodent, and Emrys' hunting eyes were transfixed. He offered to take her in, they knew him there, but she shook her head. He could tell her heart was racing. Maybe it was his vampire senses, maybe he was hungry, but he could tell. That only made him smile wider, showing his teeth the next time he took his smoke out of his mouth.
His predatory eyes watched as she moved, feeling the weight of the men's arms still on his chest. "Be careful, this time of night there are plenty of wolves who would love to sink their teeth into a little lamb..." He took a nether draw, and then his smile returned as he finished "...all alone. Best be careful."

December 28, 2025 If not for the fact that she knew that she was standing right outside of the blood bank, Xiulan might have questioned if she had actually ended up in Knockturn Alley. Fortunately, she knew where she was relative to where she needed to be and that she hadn't ended up in an even worse area of magical London. How she had managed to attract trouble from someone was beyond her, but she supposed that it was her luck somehow. As skilled at divination as she was, that hadn't changed her misfortunes in life. While being verbally harassed was a relatively minor one compared to, say, the fact that she had been widowed, it did make Xiulan withdraw into herself. She didn't want to be bothered, in general, so having someone press her over and over again about whatever it was he wanted to do with her.
His warning—or threat—about wolves' wanting to "sink their teeth into a little lamb… all alone" sent a chill down her spine. Xiulan didn't know who he was or why there were two others still restraining him, but her best guess at that point was that he was, perhaps, a criminal, contrary to what she had thought before. Either way, she tried not to let him see how disturbed she was by his comments. She had survived much worse at the Lin Sòng, but she would have preferred not to relive that trauma.
While she possibly could have run straight to the door and gotten inside before he could say another word to her, she knew that reacting that way would turn her into the prey that he sought. She eyed him with continued caution, knowing that she was better off not giving him anything to latch onto. "Thank you," she stated, her voice still stiff, "for that warning…"
@emrys OOC: I think we can end this on your next one?

There was no doubt that Emrys was in a foul mood. The woman passing didn't help. She was and easy target, and in all honestly, she was there. He nodded at her thanks, noting how stiff she was. Poor woman could be eaten alive. But he was held back. His red eyes watched her, as he inhailed his cigerette.
After she was out of sight, the vampire celebrity's closed his eyes releasing smoke into the sky. After that interaction, his body guards would be sure to not let him move until the woman had been situated inside. After a time of weighting, Emrys was aloud to get up from the wall. He dropped the nearly dead butt, stamping out the orange glow. Finally going into the bank to get blood for his apartment supply. After that, he would need to buckle down and finish the last few songs, and earn his freedom once again.
