The Slug Club was something Rose truthfully didn't care much about or give much thought to. It was just a club for those that did well in school and participated in extracurricular activities. Rose was active in both of those fronts but she never really went around bragging about it... well, unless you thought her incessant know-it-all attitude was her bragging. She didn't do it intentionally, it was just kind of in her blood. She was Hermione Granger's daughter, after all. So for Rose, it was no surprise she had gained acceptance in to this club. The party, however? No, that was a little bit more surprising. Although bringing a date was optional, Rose felt as those she had to. She couldn't help but rack her brains for someone to ask to go with her that would make a particular Slytherin jealous. But... wait. Why on Earth was she trying to make him jealous?
It didn't matter. She didn't care was Scorpius Malfoy thought. But, she still kind of wanted a date. So Rose had asked Samuel Davis, a seventh year boy in her house who was rather quiet and kept to himself but she enjoyed his company. He was quite intelligent and while Rose had only spoken to him a handful of times, their conversations had always been stimulating. Luckily he had not outright refused to go with her, so Rose fortunately had a date. She may have a chance at making Malfoy jealous after all.
No. That wasn't what she was trying to do. She did not care about him.
Rose had walked up to the Astronomy tower alone, wanting a few minutes before the party to think to herself. Mainly her thoughts were oddly consisting of Scorpius Malfoy and his performance at the Quidditch game. He was a fair flyer, and quite talented in seeking as well. During the match, she could hardly take her eyes off of him. She would never admit that out loud, of course, but she had definitely taken notice of that. But why? He wasn't her type at all! He was arrogant and spoiled and vile. She could hardly stand to be in the same room as him so why could she not stop thinking about him? She could never ever think that there could ever be anything between them. Because there couldn't be! ... Could there?
As Rose waited at the bottom of the stairs that led to the tower, she began to fidget a little bit with her hands. She couldn't keep still, either, so her black heels click-clacked against the stone floor as she paced back and forth. Her dark brown hair was more curled than usual and it was pulled into a bun with a few loose strands hanging around her face. She willed herself to stop fidgeting and smoothed out her navy dress. She was going to meet Sam there with Ethan Johnson, another Ravenclaw friend of hers, and his girlfriend Cordelia. She was rather excited to be hanging out with a group of people who all got a long so... why, exactly, was she so nervous?

Ethan had gotten ready fairly early and was pacing the Ravenclaw Common room. He was wearing a simple gray suit with pinstripes and a pastel yellow tie. He hadn't discussed matching outfits with Cordie, as he should have, but yellow was the Hufflepuff color so he may as well wear it to show that he was thinking about he... right? Rose had gone ahead of them and Ethan was going to head down and pick up Cordie in a a few minutes. He didn't want to be too early though so he waited a little longer. Finally, it was time. "Sam, I'll see you there!" he called up to the boys dormitory before slipping out of the common room and making his way down toward the kitchens. He and Cordie met in front of the fruit bowl painting, her arm linked through his, and soon they were off to meet Rose in the tower.
---
When they arrived, Rose looked... annoyed? That was odd. "Hey, you okay there?" Ethan asked her, tapping her lightly on the shoulder. She seemed on edge, which was strange because they were going to a party! Her date was Sam Davis, and who could have a better date than that? Well, besides Ethan, of course....Granted, even Ethan was nervous and he had the best date ever-who was also his girlfriend. He really had nothing to be worried about. Tonight was supposed to be about fun, friendship and fancy clubs.
(Bethany, we can Elaborate them meeting by the painting if you want, just add to it in your post and I'll respond accordingly XD.)

His eyes watered, his face beamed red, and he could feel himself sweating as he stared in the mirror. Samuel felt as if at any given moment he was about to find himself in a panicky stricken state. Why in the world had he even said yes to Rose Weasley in the first place? Him at a party? He'd never been to a party in his entire life and now here he was. He would have never even went if he hadn't been asked, and he felt the only reason he said yes was because some of his friends kept telling him he should go. He kept telling them it'd be too awkward, that and he didn't have a date so he didn't really want to be alone. Samuel knew very well that he would be the guy in the corner standing by himself, and those thoughts didn’t appeal to him. Yet, when Rose asked him, he accepted with the thoughts of his friends shaking their heads at him if he hadn't said yes, and he didn’t really have the heart to tell the girl know. He didn’t know her all that well, but he’d talked to her a few times throughout his years at school, and she’d always made him feel comfortable, and she was a nice enough girl. He wasn’t sure why she’d ask him, because, truthfully, Samuel had to be far from the ‘idea’ date with how awkward he was, and most would never think to ask that shy boy that stutters, but she had...and now here he was, standing in his mirror nervous as hell. He brushed off his suit a bit, clearing his throat, running a hand through his thick hair before exiting his room. He had heard Ethan earlier calling up and telling him he'd see him there. Sam's heart thumped quite loudly as a small thought crossed his brain, he would have to watch Ethan and Cordelia all night and that was something he couldn't say he was looking forward to. Of course, he was so happy for his best mate, he knew Ethan adored Cordelia, but it was never easy to see the person you liked with another man, that and Samuel had been crushing hard on this girl for a rather long time...years, really. He sucked in his breath as he made his way out of the tower to go and meet Rose Weasley, the nerves bubbling up inside his stomach. Upon reaching Rose, he noticed Ethan and Cordelia already standing there, this stopping him dead in his tracks. As inappropriate as it may had been his eyes caught Cordelia as she seemed to take his breath away, she looked incredibly beautiful tonight, and he could hear his heart thumping again. He cleared his throat a bit awkwardly, hoping nobody had caught that awkward moment before stepping over to Rose, and giving her a weak smile. "H-Hey" he stumbled out, the nerves clear for all to see. "You. You look beautiful." he kept that smile on his face, and he had met it, the girl did look quite lovely...she just wasn’t...well, she wasn’t the blonde next to Ethan, but he soon held out his arm for Rose, "Shall we?" his face beaming red, as he gave Ethan a sideways glance. "Hey." he mouthed to him, trying to ease his nerves. Most generally, Ethan helped calm him down...but tonight this was not the case. If anything Ethan and Cordelia being here made everything much more nerve-wracking for him. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade @ethanjohnson cordelia regan smith @scorp @brydeux sam's outfit

Scorpius wore a thin black suit with a forest green shirt, no tie, and the top few buttons undone. His hair was styled down to a tee, and he looked fantastic. Soon, he and his date @brydeux, were making their way to the Astronomy tower arm in arm. The younger girl looked great, and she was really good company-hence why Scorpius invited her along as his date.
He almost didn't bring a date, but that wouldn't do. The second Scorpius had heard that Rose had decided to bring a date, he couldn't go without one. No, not when his lifetime rival was bringing someone along with them. Scorpius thought for a moment that maybe he could prove his being better than her by not bringing a date at all either, but that logic was quickly shot down. No, he needed to bring someone fabulous and Elisa was going to do just fine.
The younger Slytherin was simply adorable, and Scorpius knew that she just dripped charm-especially in a party setting. She was the ideal candidate for as to be his date for this little gathering. Especially if Rose was going to be paying attention. Not that she would be... but didn't he and her sort of have an unspoken competition between them? Well, in all things academic, sure. He wasn't sure when the social competition started-but it was happening whether she liked it or not.
He approached the astronomy tower, arm linked with Elisas, and he ran into none other than Rose herself, her date, Ethan Johnson and Cordelia. Scorp smiled at the three Ravenclaws and the blonde Hufflepuff. "Evening, all," he gave Rose the most smug, and dashing, smile that he could muster. He hoped she was just squirming on the inside at the sight of him. But, that was a silly thing to hope. Nah, he didn't care what she thought as he stalked past the group towards the room with the party.

[googlefont="Calligraffitti"] Honestly, when @scorp had asked her to the Slug Club Christmas party Elisa had been floored. Sure she was pretty good friends with him but she would have thought he would ask someone prettier, more influential, more worthy of the Slug Club. Elisa, her grades were nowhere near deserving of teacher praise. Among all those smart people she was scared of feeling a little out of place, but her fear was unfounded: she was such a social butterfly that it wouldn't matter. There was going to be someone to talk to. Somehow, when Scorp had come to pick her up she had found that they were wearing the same colors- a pretty coincidence, since after all she hadn't asked him about coordinating their outfits. Thank God he hadn't worn electric pink or something like that. Her mid thigh-length, wraparound satin dress was perhaps a hair lighter in shade than his hunter green shirt, but it wasn't clashing. Great minds think alike, she thought with satisfaction. Or perhaps just like minds... In addition to her dress, which was strapless on one shoulder and secured with a thin brown belt on her waist, she wore three inch high heels, silver, that laced up her foot to her ankle, simple diamond drop earrings, and a necklace, her favorite, a square emerald set in a silver clasp and with a silver chain. Simple, but elegant. To top it all off she had applied a thin coat of natural-toned lipstick, feathered her eyebrows, and gotten a hold of some dark green eyeshadow. Her hair, she had done nothing special with except for pulling it around on her left into a side ponytail.
He had simply smiled, offered her his arm, and off they had gone, chatting merrily on the way. Climbing the stairs to the astronomy tower, approaching the party, she imagined that this was what her mother felt at all the gatherings she went to. She didn't always have a man on her arm but her excitement was always there and raging. A little group stood at the entrance to the tower, mostly consisting of Ravenclaws. Elisa recognized Ethan Johnson and Cordelia Finch-Fletchley, a confirmed couple, Sam Davis, from the school paper, and last but not least Rose Weasley. A small smile tinged her mouth. Anyone who was even remotely close to Scorpius knew that him and Rose had a little bit of a rivalry, and true to that, Scorpius shot off a snide greeting mostly aimed towards her. Elisa said nothing, nor did her light grip on his forearm change. She just smiled. Many of these sixth and seventh years she didn't know well enough to hold a conversation with. @ethanjohnson, cordelia regan smith, @samuel, Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

When Ethan had asked Cordelia to the Slug Club Christmas party, Cordelia had been giddy with excitement for a reason to go out with her boyfriend, dressed up, and go dancing. Those were some of her favorite things to do. As she got ready in her dorm, she was in her own world. A few of the other Hufflepuff seventh years were getting ready to go to, such as Alice Longbottom and that surprised Cordelia a great deal. But they didn't speak so... Cordelia just pretended not to notice her fellow badger as she got ready. She was doing her hair first. She was curling it, and when she had finished with that she pinned the right side up behind her ear with a few bobby pins. She applied her makeup next, never one to really say no to a chance to get really fancy. She put on minimal blush, but she did put on her mascara and eyeliner as usual but added a little smokey eye shadow before applying a shade of light pink to her lips. Next was the dress. It was a sort of nude gold color. It had a few accented beads throughout it and the straps on her shoulders went down her back and flowed out almost like a cape. She was finally as she took one final look at herself in the mirror that the seventh year Hufflepuff girls shared in their room. She smiled to herself and then turned on her nude colored heels to make her way out of the common room. She would be meeting Ethan by the fruit bowl portrait near the kitchen: where they had officially met.
Cordelia seemed to make her way to the painting just as Ethan was. She looked him up and down and smiled widely at him. He looked handsome in a suit. Her eyes set on his tie as she linked her arm through his. "Nice tie," she winked at him just before they set off to the Astronomy tower to meet the others. Cordelia wasn't exactly sure who they were meeting. She knew that Ethan had mentioned it but every time he had mentioned the party, Cordie's mind had gone off on excited tangents and ran a million miles a minute. She had been looking forward to this night since the very moment Ethan had asked her and finally it was here. She gave his arm an affectionate squeeze as they walked off to the tower together.
When they arrived, Cordelia could see that the person they were meeting was Rose Weasley. She had met her once or twice but never truly had spoken to her. She gave the Ravenclaw girl a smile. When Ethan asked if she was okay, though, Cordelia wondered what could possibly be bothering the girl... this was supposed to be a party after all! She had always heard that Rose Weasley was a bit... stuck up, but she was Ethan's friend and Cordie refused to fall into rumors and stereotypes. "You look amazing," she said, eyeing Rose with the same smile she had worn upon their greeting. She hoped that would help cheer the girl up, because she really did look beautiful.
Cordelia's head turned when she heard what she thought to be a familiar clearing of one's throat. She was surprised to see Samuel Davis now standing next to Rose. Were they dates? She blinked a few times, still feeling more surprised than she thought she should be before putting on her smile again. "Sam! You look... great!" She didn't hesitate to find the right word, because he did look great, but rather she hesitated because... she found that Sam looked incredibly handsome tonight. Cordelia instinctively gave Ethan's arm another little squeeze.
Then two more people joined their group, if only for a brief moment. Scorpius Malfoy and... a fourth year that Cordelia had never met before. She was beautiful, though, and Cordelia thought she and Scorpius complimented one another well. Cordelia didn't have anything against Scorpius, in fact she found him to be a worthy Quidditch opponent but she knew how his personality was. As Scorpius and his date passed them, Cordelia couldn't help but notice the smug looking smile that Scorp had flashed Rose Weasley and Cordelia then glanced to look at the Ravenclaw girl to see the look on her face. She returned her eyes to follow Malfoy and his date back into the room, wondering briefly if that was the reason the Weasley girl was so mad...
Cordelia smiled, letting out a deep, anxious breath. "Well, I don't know about you lot," she said, grinning at the three Ravenclaws before her. "But I am just dying to get on that dance floor. Shall we head in?" She asked them, eager to get dancing with Ethan in front of her peers. Food was always a plus, too, she supposed.

Rose was growing more anxious for the others to arrive as she awaited them at the bottom of the stairs. Her mind kept drifting to that spoiled, vile, blonde Slytherin that so often got on her nerves. The fact that he was there at all was making her even more frustrated, so much so that she now wore a look of great displeasure. A look one should never see on the face of a young lady at a party. Rose was so unaware of the face she was making until Ethan had arrived with his date and spoke up. "Hey, you okay there?" He asked her. Rose turned to look at them, her eyebrows raised slightly in surprise as she had not been paying attention enough to see them walk up. Thankful for a distraction, Rose smiled, all looks of distaste disappearing from her face. "Ethan! Look at you, you clean up nicely!" She said, gesturing to his suit. "I'm fine, just thinking about classes," she waved a hand in front of her as if to brush away the thought. She believed that excuse to be believable enough. It was Rose Weasley, after all.
Rose's attention then shifted to the breathtaking blonde that had her arm in Ethan's. Cordelia Finch-Fletchley. A sweet Hufflepuff on the Quidditch team. She was telling Rose that she looked amazing. Rose scoffed in a playful manner. "Oh, please," she said, smiling at the blonde. "Look at you! You're stunning. Ethan," she looked at Ethan now. "You must feel very lucky!" She grinned at her muggleborn friend, giving him a wink. The two of them looked so good together. Luckily, Rose didn't think at all about that Slytherin. The two of them were far too radiant together to really pay attention to anything else. Except newcomers! Rose's smile widened when her own date arrived. "Hey, Sam," she greeted him as he came to stand next to her. "Thank you," she smiled sincerely. "You look quite handsome yourself." Rose had asked Samuel to the party at Ethan's suggestion. She was happy she was going with people she knew, even if they were acquaintances. Better to go with nice people you were just meeting than to not go with anyone at all.
Rose was just about to take Samuel's arm when two more people approached them. They were in practically matching dress robes and almost instantly Rose felt her face harden. It was Scorpius, and he had brought fourth year Elisa Fawley. Rose's brow furrowed in a mix of disgust and annoyance. She didn't move, intent on not giving Scorpius the satisfaction of having succeeded in annoying Rose. Which he no doubt was out to do. However Rose couldn't deny that seeing him with a date was a bit disappointing to her. A part of her almost wished it was... no. That was silly. Rose didn't care who Scorpius brought to parties. She didn't care about Scorpius. As Scorpius and Elisa walked off toward the party, Rose averted her eyes. She didn't want to even look at Scorpius.
Luckily, Cordelia spoke up then. Rose was thankful for another distraction. "Yes, let's," she said, happily as she linked her arm in Samuel's.

Cordeia looked like a freaking movie star. But really, she was so gorgeous she could have easily walked the red carpet and no one would have known that she was just a normal wizard girl. They would easily have mistaken her for someone who belonged on the runway. Ethan tried not to let his jaw drop too far as she approached him, but that didn't really stop his jaw from practically touching the floor. As she complimented his tie he shrugged and was snapped back into reality, 'Just trying to represent, ya know," he said with a little half smile. He wasn't really able to focus on walking for a minute but he eventually got his feet moving toward where they found their friends. Ethan was incredibly happy at how well Cordie was getting along with his friends, Rose and Sam. She even complimented Sam and he her, she was getting along with his group of friends perfectly! He was also grateful that she was kind to Rose, who sometimes had trouble making friends. Ethan and Rose became friends early on. In their first year, Rose kind of took on the job of showing him all the things that a Muggle Born wouldn't really be able to understand right off the bat and he told her about the muggle world. They had quite a lot of fun exchanging information between one another. "Oh trust me, I know I am," Ethan said with a goofy smile as Rose said he must feel lucky to be dating someone so beautiful. Honestly, Cordies beauty had stunned him at first, but her personality was what really sunk him. He stayed silent and slightly confused at the little exchange between the Slytherins and Rose... that was just strange. Cordie, thankfully, broke the silence by suggesting that they go inside. Ethan wasn't much of a dancer, but he knew that Cordie would want to spend the majority of the party on the dance floor. So, he led her toward the doors and opened it slowly, "after you!"((end of this thread, other posts should be at the dinner party! unless @samuel and cordelia regan smith want to do one more that's okay :3))
