Victoire sat in her office running over different memories in her mind. She had been working on important paperwork but her mind started to wander. She decided the best way to focus was to sift through these memories and give each other them a short moment of attention so they could leave her mind and let her finish her work. The memory that stuck out the most to her was that of her Hogwarts graduation. Her whole family had come, which, as it had forever, included Teddy. She was in the top percent of her class that year so she was able to sit in a different section with her family. Granted, her family was huge if you counted all the cousins, but she only had seats for a few.
She sat with her mother, father, Dom, Louis and Teddy. She wasn't originally going to invite Teddy to sit with her, but when it came down to sending him a graduation announcement, she found herself including the ticket that was for the spot right beside her. On her right hand side, the most important place to sit. She wasn't sure why she did it, but she was happy when he accepted and showed up anyway, sitting beside her during the ceremony. She felt bad, laughing with him and almost acting as if nothing had changed.
But it would've felt wrong not to have him there. He was the one who comforted her and told her she would do just fine her first year. She had received less than perfect marks and ran out into the grounds crying. He had seen her, followed her out there and discovered her on a bench veiled by trees. She was crying harder than she ever had in her life. Teddy, a second year at the time, came and sat with her and wrapped his arms around her. "You'll be brilliant," he said, "you always are." He spoke softly as he continued to explain how her grades would go up and she would graduate at the top of her class. He was sure of it.
Would she have succeeded without that encouragement? Probably. But she had to acknowledge his importance in her education and motivation. She couldn't just leave him out of her graduation.

walking through the ministry of magic was a new experience. she'd been here before of course with her father and mother for various reasons but it was the first time she'd come into the office on her own. she was looking for her sister. she'd spent so much time working on her studies and her flying that she had asked her parents to write to the school and let her come home for the weekend. so she could spend some much needed time with her sister. if only she could find her. there was so much to this place that it was hard to know left from right and the thought of being lost worried her but at least it wasn't like she was alone, there was literally a few hundred people all around her that she was sure she could ask for help if she needed it. but thankfully the ministers office wasn't too hard to find and soon she was walking down a corridor toward it, assuming that with her sisters job she'd have an office close to her boss.
she was excited to see her sister, it had been too long since she'd seen her. christmas, she was sure that was how long ago it had been and she wanted to see if vic could spare an hour or two to sneak away and have lunch with her. of course if her sister was busy she'd understand, but she felt she had to ask. she flipped her long hair back over her shoulder and pulled her cropped leather jacket closer to her body and she opened the door that had her sisters name written across the golden plate that was stuck on the door. stepping into the room and smiled a little as she saw her sister sitting there. "do you feel like pizza?" she asked in greeting as she walked to the esk with a smile, her sneakers making a little noise on the floor of the office.

At the sound of her sisters voice, Victoire looked up and almost jumped. She stood, smiling and catching her breathe a little to overcome the shock of being pulled out of her thoughts. "Dom!" she said, leaning back a little in her chair to get a good look at her sister. She nodded her head slowly and stood, "pizza sounds like just what I need right now. You're buying, right?" she joked and she stepped around her desk, grabbing her own long white coat before stepping out the door, shutting it behind Dom as her sister followed her. "How are you?" Victoire asked the little ginger. Actually, Dom was anything but little. She was blossoming into a full grown woman now, and the thought almost made Vics heart hurt. Things were so different now then they used to be, which was exactly what was plaguing Vics mind already. Her sister was so tall, she was working for the ministry, things were falling apart... but at least there was lunch dates. @dom

laughing a little when her sister said that pizza sounded good she nodded and ran a hand through her hair. waiting for her sister she shook her head a little. "hmm .. how about we owl dad and make him come shout us pizza" she said with a smile. walking out of the room with vic dom glanced around at the office around them and walked next to her. it was strange being in the ministry without a parent with her telling her where they were going and to behave herself and to stop bothering the workers by asking them what they were doing and how they were doing it and then why they were doing it. she'd been the curious little red head that had taken every chance she could to ask.
"i'm all right. getting a little tired of the homework the teachers are piling on. quidditch is great! we have a game coming up soon so that should go well. fingers crossed. how're things here? everyone seems so busy at the moment" dom said as they walked down the hall together. she shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket, a habit that she'd had since she was a little kid and she skipped a step as they walked. "tell me everything, i feel so disconnected while i'm at school" she said, her hair bouncing as she kept looking down every corridor to try and see a place she hadn't ever seen before. there was always something new in this place to see.

Vic laughed as Dom mentioned being sick of homework, "At least you're in the second part of term, the homework won't last much longer. Then you'll only have one year! As for Quidditch, maybe I should come by and watch this one," she mused. There was very little possibility that she'd have time for that, but maybe she could make some. She hadn't been to a single one of Doms game due to her being so busy at the ministry, and she really felt bad about that. "Well, with the new Minister for Magic in place, this place has been in quite a buzz," she explained. Kathleen Astor, the new Minister for Magic. She was great and Victoire really liked her, even though it made her jealous to see a woman in that position before her. She was deserving, though and smart. "We're getting more involved with the murders at Hogwarts, especially now that Cain is... well, you know," Minister Cain was recently murdered, hence the need for Astor. @dom

"i'm hanging out for the end of the term. exams be buggerd" dom said with a laugh. she loved school, really she did and she couldn't think of anything better than a morning spent reading books and learning about things and taking in everything she could but homework got a little much at times, what with quidditch and all too. "you should totally come. see me win the game for our team" she said, joking of course. the game was a team effort but she was sure they were pretty good enough to win the cup this year, hopefully.
"people have been talking about that at school, rumors spread" dom said as she walked next to her older sister. it was weird, having a new minister for magic suddenly. but with all that had been going on at the school, it hadn't been all that surprising. murders couldn't just happen at hogwarts, they were happening everywhere. folding her arms over her chest as they walked she looked at vic when she spoke again. "have they found anything new out? you heard about ethan, didn't you?" she asked, biting her lip. she wanted to find out who had hurt ethan, her best friend in the entire world. dom wasn't one for wanting revenge, not normally. when someone went after someone she loved though, that was a different story.

Victoire chuckled at her sisters little dig on exams. Victoire was so obsessing during school that she evens stayed there for some of the breaks to study, Dom probably remembered that. She felt bad now, looking back at the Christmases missed with her sweet sister. But, that was all over now. Too late. "How is your team this year?" Vic asked as they finally were out of the ministry, headed for a place to eat. Victoire nodded as Dom mentioned the rumors at the school. Of course the kids would know, especially with her cousins in there. As she mentioned Ethan, Victoire turned toward her with sympathetic eyes, "I did, I'm so sorry Dom. We had a ministry official come in to speak with him two days ago... it seems he can't tell us anything do to the unbreakable vow," she growled. "Whoever is doing this needs to be caught, and fast. But the school board doesn't want us 'interrupting your classes'," she made air quotes with her fingers. @dom

"we would have had the cup in the bag if our captain was able to play. but we're still hopeful. it's a good team this year. new talent and all that" she said as she folded her arms over her chest. quidditch was her way to relax and take her mind of everything that was happening at the school. it was awful to think about what some of the students were going through. she should consider herself lucky, she hadn't been hurt and someone she loved hadn't died. but they had been hurt.
she shook her head a little, taking her lip between her teeth and she folded her arms closer to her chest as she stopped walking. "i know. all i want to do is ask him and make him tell me but .." she said. it was hard. he was her best friend and she'd felt like she might loose him because of this. she sniffed a little, moving one hand to wipe her eyes as she looked at vic. "we don't care about our classes. we care that someone else might get killed. don't they care about that? people are dying vic. whose on this board? let me go talk to them" she said, looking around for some kind of sign that might point her in the direction that she wanted to go. she did feel a slight pang of guilt about getting upset infront of her sister, but she couldn't help it.

Dom made a good point. Losing her captain to injury was sure to be a downfall for the team, but who knows. Maybe things would be okay. Victoire felt the need to support her sister even more nowso that things were going awry. "I'm sure you guys can pull it together, for Ethan, right?" she said. She was sure the team had thought about it like that, used Ethans injuries for motivation. In fact... Dom wouldn't put it past the clever group of Ravenclaws to try and solve the murders themselves. Isn't that what she would have done? She'd deal with that idea later. As Dom wiped her eyes and spoke rather passionately, Vic reached out and gently placed a hand on the side of her sisters head, "hey, hey," she said, taking a step forward and using her other hand to place on Doms shoulder, "the school board is full of old people who think the world is completely at peace again. They're in denial, they can't handle another war. I'll deal with them," she said, kissing her sisters forehead before pulling back, "you just need to be there for Ethan and..." no, was Vic actually going to suggest using Dom as an inside man? Yes, yes she was. "Maybe you and James and the others could... I dunno, get some information from the inside?" It was dangerous, of course, but everyone was in danger right now, weren't they? @dom

dom nodded a little and smiled a little at her sister. it was really the thought of ethan that made her so determined to win the cup for their house. it was her friends last year at school and with such a terrible thing happening to him she wanted him to be able to hold up that cup and have that victory the whole team deserved. "yeah we are. it's taking some time but it's getting there" she said as she ran a hand through her red hair and then the conversation took a upsetting turn toward her captain and friend.
"denial is what's getting us killed!" dom spoke loudly and as she leaned her head against her sisters hand a little she saw some people look in her direction from her outburst. for the last few weeks a lot of the time all she had wanted to do was run home and curl up in one of her father's hugs. when she'd been afraid as a child she'd gone to her father and clung to him, and he'd always refused to let go till she asked him too. she needed one of those hugs and soon. looking up at her sister as she kissed her head, dom nodded a little, chewing her lip slightly. "i'm trying to be. but i keep making these stupid jokes and making him laugh and that's horrible because it hurts him and i know it does no matter how hard he tries to hide it and .." she bit her lip to stop herself rambling and she folded her arms over her chest tightly. she blinked when vic spoke of getting some inside information. "we already sort of are .. how do you think we knew about the curse before they did? al worked it out" she said, thinking back to the meeting that had happened between the students. she wouldn't go so far as to tell vic exactly what they were doing. that might be against the rules of the group. but she trusted her sister to tell her that much.

Victoire had complete confidence in her sister to pick up the slack for the rest of the team. She didn't know anyone else on the team, but having Dom was enough to help them, of that Vic was sure. Of course Vic completely agreed that denial was getting people hurt and killed. As she mentioned that her jokes hurt Ethan, Victoire couldn't help but smile. "Listen, Dom, it may cause him physical pain now but I promise it's doing him a lot more good then sitting there feeling sorry for him. In the long run, you're helping more than hurting. Trust me," she said with an encouraging smile, and she meant every word. Vic led them into the restaurant as the conversation continued, in hushed tones now. Vic didn't want more information on her cousins little sleuthing in the school, otherwise she'd feel obligated to tell an adult, but cheating just a little was fine with her. "Good. Just be careful. Tell everyone that they can come to me any time, but don't get busted," she said. The conversation paused for a moment as they ordered their pizza and took a seat in order to eat it. "Be careful with Ethan too. If he reveals the culprit, even accidentally... just be careful," the Slytherin in her, the one willing do anything to get what she needed, almost considered letting Ethan give it up, but she quickly brushed that thought aside. @dom

dom heard her sister tell them to be careful. they didn't need a reminder of that. though she was starting to wonder if they did get caught, it might make their parents and aurors of the wizarding community start to fight back. when they realised their children were doing what they wouldn't, they might have a different view on getting too involved. she felt like sending an owl to their uncle harry asking him what was going on. what he was doing. she chewed her lip. "if we got caught they'd act so we didn't have to" she said to her older sister. not that they were going to get caught, they might have been kids but her and her cousins had weasley and potter blood in them, they had learnt to be sneaky as they grew up. not for fear of getting in trouble or to cause trouble, but most of their pranks involved patience and being discreet. they could do it.
"there are people at the school who think he should tell us. james is one of them! can you believe it?" she said with a frown, letting her temper raise a little at her older cousin. how anyone could think the life of her best friend wasn't worth much was beyond her. she knew it had been taken a little out of context, but that context had been shocking, one that she was still trying to forgive him for. she chewed her lip as she made to sit down at the table, taking up one of the menu's. "lets get two .. with everything on them .. with some garlic bread ... and chicken" she said, her voice turning thoughtful and dreamy as she thought of the food she wanted to order. she hadn't realised how hungry she had been till she walked into the pizza place.

Vic nodded, "you have a point, but things are just starting. The Order is involved, trust me," she didn't want to give too much away to her kid sister though. "Just... you know, you guys will be fine," she had confidence in the group of her cousins and their friends, but that didn't mean she trusted all the people she didn't know. Heck, she didn't trust a lot of the people that she did know. Not with her little sisters life, at least. As Dom went on to explain that James suggested Ethan telling the culprit, Vic had to bite her lip. She almost agreed with it, but she knew how much Dom cared about Ethan. In fact, Vic was sure Dom cared about Ethan more than she let on. "Listen Dom," she said, starting out with a low tone, "James is young and is just trying to do what's best. He's stressed, he wasn't thinking straight. Don't condemn him for that," she nodded firmly and reached a hand across the table to claps over Doms. Vic nodded, ordering what Dom suggested as the waitress arrived. She was starving too. "Food really helps at times like this. It's going to be okay, I promise," she started once the waitress left to fill the order. @dom

"you i trust. them not so much" dom said honestly. she didn't know who was in the order, didn't kno if they were actually planning on doing anything about what was happening at the school. she as starting to think that the people in the adult world weren't all that interested in keeping the children of the magical world safe. they seemed to just be thinking about their own skin. there didn't seem to e that many stories about people outside of the school being hurt. then she could be wrong, she was mainly focused on ethan and what had happened to the girl. her eyes widened a little as she heard her sister almost agree with their cousin. "don't you dare make an excuse for him!"
she tried to keep her voice calm but it rose a little, she could get emotional at times, her sister knew this. she got her temper from their mother. "young and stupid or not, him thinking it's justifiable to kill someone in order to get one answer, isn't right. i'm sure he only things that ethan telling will get that lestrange girl off the hook" now dom didn't think for a second that aurora lestrange was behind the attacks, she'd met the girl and there wasn't anything horrible about her. she was just upset and on the defensive herself. though she wasn't sure why. it was a touchy subject this whole thing. it was going to either make or break the people involved, that much she knew.

Dom had a good point, of course. It was hard to know who to trust these days. But the Order was a group of good, skilled people. People that Dom knew personally for the most part. "Trust me, when you're old enough you'll see," Vic said. She had no doubt that the younger generation would be able to join the order someday. Especially since they were starting their own little club at the school. Dom felt a sinking sensation of wanting to be back at the school, wanting to be helping them. But no, she was working with the adults, that was better. Vic understood why Dom was getting emotional. She had heard the girl talk about this Ethan about a hundred times, she really cared about him. "Hey, hey," she said, trying to keep her voice calm in order to help Dom lower hers. "People say stupid things when their in love," she raised an eyebrow at Dom at that, but quickly shook her head to brush it off. On a completely non related note, "Oh... have you talked to Teddy since he's been back?" she asked for no apparent reason whatsoever. @dom
