Reina WATANABE NAKAMURA
WAND 10 ⅗ inches, cinchona wood, Curupira hair core, unbending
APPEARANCE Reina is relatively short, standing at 5' tall, and has an average build. Of Japanese descent, she has a round face and medium skin tone, with long, wavy black hair and dark brown eyes. She has no scars of note (though has had to have burns and other injuries healed over the years), but her ears are pierced twice on each earlobe. When not in uniform, Reina's clothing choices are typically more "Muggle" than magical. She generally wears jeans, T-shirts, and the like, but she isn't opposed to wearing dresses and skirts when the occasion calls for it. | pronunciation RAY-nuh Wa-ta-NA-bay Na-ka-MU-ra nickname N/A age & birthday 15 30 December 2011 gender & pronouns Cisgender female She/her pronouns blood status Half-blood sexuality Heterosexual face claim Momona Tamada | |||||||||||||||||||||||
PERSONALITY To those who don't know her, Reina can come across as intense initially, but it's really only because she's a go-getter with little fear of dragons, creatures that tend to intimidate even grown adults. She isn't afraid to take on a challenge, but she also has a tendency not to look before she leaps. Reina is fun, energetic, and outgoing, but she can come across as abrasive with her honesty. Though she doesn't mean anything by it, tact isn't often her strong suit. That said, Reina works hard, especially when it comes to Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, her two favorite subjects. She aspires to become a dragonologist, as both of her parents are, and to travel the world in order to study all the different varieties of dragons that are out there to discover. Reina has been fortunate that her life hasn't been too badly affected by the traumatic events that have happened elsewhere in the magical world, but she does worry that something else will happen at Hogwarts now that it has reopened and she's set to attend MAGIC. Beyond that, she is also afraid of dark, enclosed spaces. Reina's first language is Spanish, and she also speaks Portuguese and English fluently. She can speak some basic Japanese; however, she cannot read or write in the language. ORIGIN & RELATIONS Iquitos, Peru father: Carlos Watanabe Yamada, 45, dragonologist, half-blood wizard mother: Naomi Nakamura Higuchi de Watanabe, 43, dragonologist, half-blood witch HISTORY Reina Watanabe Nakamura was born to two Japanese Peruvian dragonologists in the city of Iquitos in northeastern Peru. An only child, she grew up with exposure to the Peruvian Vipertooth—a dragon species that her parents began studying extensively before she was ever born—from an early age, in addition to the other magical creatures of the Peruvian Amazon. It might not have been the most conventional early childhood, but she didn't know any different and enjoyed it greatly. Educated at home by her parents prior to starting at Castelobruxo, Reina looked forward to attending the Brazilian wizarding school. Like her home, it was in the Amazon rainforest, so that wouldn't take much getting used to—and it didn't. Almost immediately upon arriving there, she was ready to dive right in and get involved with everything that Castelobruxo had to offer. She began to pick up Portuguese and was excited to meet other students of Japanese descent at her new school. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Reina's best subjects were related to Herbology and Magizoology, both of which also happened to be Castelobruxo's academic specialties. Already planning to follow in her parents' footsteps, Reina was proud of herself. The world felt like her oyster, and it felt as though nothing could stop her. South America was spared from all of the chaos that seemed to befall most of the rest of the wizarding world around that time. Reina, being so young, didn't give it too much thought. The important thing was that Castelobruxo remained safe, though she knew that her teachers were keeping an eye on what was going on abroad. Gradually, Reina's life, too, began to be affected by the happenings in the rest of the world. In her fourth year, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was attacked and destroyed and would have to be rebuilt. Though most of the students from Hogwarts went to schools such as Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Ilvermorny, some came to Castelobruxo, too. At the beginning of her fifth year at Castelobruxo, Reina learned that her parents had taken up an offer to pursue additional dragonology research in Britain and that she would have to leave Castelobruxo midway through the academic year. Hogwarts hadn't even reopened by that point, so Reina wasn't sure what she'd be getting herself into so far away from home. Nevertheless, she had to have faith that everything would be alright and began looking forward to her next adventure. WANT AD
