Early September
Flashing lights danced off the walls of the steamy night club, heavy bass drums rumbled the concrete beneath his feet as people around him raised their hands to the beat. Simon ran a hand through his hair, eyes scanning across the sea of people for any girls after getting a proper pregame in at his mates pad. His group had a VIP booth reserved but Simon figured he’d search the floor for any pretty girls to chat up with beforehand. Truthfully, he didn’t feel like socializing much, but he knew he needed to upkeep the facade that everything was okay. In his mates eyes he was more apathetic about the situation with Luna, preferring to pretend like nothing happened. When he didn’t pretend, the gaping hole in his heart only bled harder.
To put it simply, Simon hadn’t taken the breakup with LUNA LACHESIS TRELAWNEY well. He saw it coming but it didn’t make her absence in his life any easier. Every day he wondered what she was doing, hoping that she was okay. There were a few times he considered reaching out to Claudia to see what would happen. He ultimately decided against it, wanting to keep his promise to Luna. Why did it matter when they no longer spoke to each other? Simon desperately missed what he once had with Luna but he also hated her even more for the pain and sadness. The strange mixture of emotions had him constantly at battle with himself. Fuck, it was hard trying to be a good person and not slip back into old habits.
With no luck with any girls on the dance floor, Simon beelined his way to the bar in hopes that alcohol would help uplift his mood. As the bartender handed over his drink, a hand grabbed his arm, giving it a light squeeze for attention. “Simon!” A short blond greeted him excitedly with a smile so bright and contagious, he wasn’t sure if she was happy to see him or on happy pills. Maybe a mixture of both. It made him actually smile a true smile for the first time in a month as he accepted her powerful hug. ”Heeeey, it’s nice to see you..” his voice went up an octave because he honestly couldn’t remember the girls name. ”Are you here with anyone?” She immediately asked, a puppy dog look to her big brown eyes as if she was hoping he’d say no.
Simons eyes looked her up and down for a moment, noticing that she was actually pretty hot and blessed in a deep V crop top. With a bright sunshiney demeanor, she was the complete opposite of Luna, but he couldn't help but think of herand wish she were her. He waited a beat. “I'm here with you..” he answered smoothly with a cheeky smile, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Her face lit up, tucking herself into his side as she squeezed his strong arm and gawked. "Ooo..so I get the quidditch star all to myself.." she giggled, reaching for his hand. "C’mon-Dance with me.” Christine demanded, pulling him through the crowd like a rabid animal with their prey. Simon didn't typically find her genre of female attractive, especially after his expierience with Jessie, but he gave in easily tonight. The attention was nice and she seemed like a good time...maybe she could make him feel something.
Without wasting any time, the girl ran her hands up his chest, a dangerous look in her eye as she placed a colored piece of paper in her mouth, gesturing for Simon to 'come here'. He leaned forward a tiny bit, slightly confused, and she yanked the back of his neck to fold over, smashing her lips against his and shoving her tongue inside his mouth in an aggressive manner. Simon kissed her back passionately while she devoured him, sucking the life out of him like a dementor. She passed the bitter tab to his tongue and he swallowed it, unable to keep it in his mouth because it tasted gross.
Within about 20 minutes, he could feel the creeping effects of something that made him feel a little weird. Some parts of the walls wiggled, while other sections melted, appearing to be breathing. Bodies left light trails in the flashing lights. He got lost in the moment, truly letting loose to the music and company. Simon quickly lost track of time, not realizing his mates were probably looking for him. That was the last of his thoughts when he was busy swapping spit and dancing with hotties.
Simons mates eventually found him deep on the dance floor with his lady of the night. Two of his mates bumped into them on the dance floor, looking at Simon and the girl curiously, like they expected him to introduce them. More to put him on the spot. "This is.....Briana." he stated in an uncontrollable hopeful tone.
The girl snapped her head back to look at him, appalled, mouth gaping open. "My name is Christine." she corrected him, noticeably offended that he didn't know her name after snogging her for over an hour. His mates let out a cacophony of laughs as his face flickered with a couple of stupid expressions. Christine's eyebrows threaded to the center of her forehead as she turned on her heel and left without a word. Simon cocked his head to the side in confusion, watching her walk away. The half vamp raised his shoulders up and down lazily. "Christine. Thaat's it." he mused to himself with a chuckle that bubbled into laughter.
After a good laugh, the guys made their way back to the VIP booth to drink themselves into a blur, eventually crawling back to the flat and passing out. Before falling asleep he thought he set his alarm but he really typed in 600 into the calculator app. Simon woke up to a Howler from the Falcolns coach since he never showed up for practice.
