For Ciel, there was no better way than to spend the break reading a book on the history of the wizarding world. He had a certain fascination with magical history, particularly that of the Netherlands from which the maternal side of his family originated from. Though, magical history in any place and at any time was still interesting, but nonetheless he was most interested in the magical medieval era when magic was still known to muggles. He didn't exactly like muggles and didn't care about their involvement of the history of witches and wizards, though. It wasn't any personal vendetta, but he was just raised to view them with a sort of distaste. It didn't help that those who raised him to have such views were loving and caring to him, and they presented such arguable reasons to dislike muggles as well.
But anyway, the werewolf was sitting on a bench in the peaceful and quiet courtyard under a nice, clear sky. It was still a bit cold, so he wore his winter cloak over his school robes. He was quietly reading a book on the history of wizarding Germany that he found in the library, observing every word and glancing at every illustration. It was really interesting how the apple was such a famous symbol of witches and wizards in Germany; it was particularly associated with poisoning. There were plenty of people around here who he wouldn't mind feeding such fruit.

Masin didn't mind the cold, she never did. She always thought it was a great time of year. Excuses for getting close tot hose you loved, wear fashionable sweaters and scarves, it just made sense. She didn't really mind the feeling of cold air on her skin either, she rather liked the sensation. That was one thing Masin understood-the importance of feeling alive and being aware of the sensations you're feeling. She was getting carried away, lost in thought as she wandered the grounds on her own. Cordie was in the hospital wing with Ethan, and Masin had already been there most of the morning. He and her were good friends, but she didn't really want to stick around to be a third wheel, so she found herself wandering around outside with her robes and a yellow scarf to keep her warm. She founded herself slipping into the courtyard, looking down at her hands. She looked up, but too late. There he was Ciel Greyback. She felt her blood start to boil at the sight of him and her entire body tensed up. "Reading a cookbook are we?" she asked, sarcasm dripping from her mouth. @ciel

Ciel's reading had been interrupted the moment he heard that familiar voice coming from somewhere in the courtyard. He looked up from his book, but he didn't need to look at the brunette to know that it was Masin. Masin DeLisle, the Hufflepuff from hell, the one quick to hate him for a crime his father committed against her family. It was all unfair to Ciel, as he couldn't be held accountable for Fenrir's actions. It didn't help his mood any that he understood how easy it was to be biased. Of course, from a distance he admired her for her great attributes, but when he was dragged into a coincidental confrontation with her with no one else but them in the courtyard, it was hard to be kind.
Her statement was sarcastic, and it was evident that she was hostile. His face hardened and he felt a stab of irritation run through him, but he wasn't going to lose his cool. He could respond to her sarcasm with his own. "Oh, yes, I'm at the part that talks about grilling Hufflepuffs with bad attitudes," he said drolly. Though, even if he wasn't being nice, he was partly teasing her as well. Part of him was a bit amused by her jabs. They went at one another like this for so long, so he was already pretty used to it.

Masin glared as he turned her insult back at her, but soon replaced the glare with a cocky sort of smile. "Good luck catching one, we Puffs stick together," she said, suddenly incredibly aware of how secluded they were. She started to back up, ready to head out the way she came but... she really was interested in what he was reading. Maybe it was something she could use against him. She boldly took a step forward, taking the book out of his hands swiftly and turning it toward her. "Germany?" she asked, a little scoff in her voice. Germany really was a beautiful place, she had been there before with her mother and with her father at separate times. But why did he care about it? "Thinking of moving? This could be a wise choice for you," she added. @ciel
