Lily was released from the hospital wing and had said goodbye to her parents. Now, she was headed back to the Gryffindor tower, a little skip in her step. She wanted to go straight outside and run laps or something. But no. She had to at least pretend that she was a little upset about her new state of being. Still, she couldn't remove the grin from her face. She entered the common room, giving some designated people a wink or a nod of her head before her eyes landed on Anna. Annalese Weasley, her most trusted confidant and favorite cousin. Since Lily hadn't come home last night Anna was no doubt wondering what had happened. Lily had stayed out late, sure, but she always wanted to crash in her own bed after the antics and she generally told Anna of them before heading to the fifth year dorm. Lily moved towards her, "Annnaaaa, that better not be homework I see in your lap," she took a seat on the chair arm where Anna was sitting, "it's past dinnertime! Time for fun," she giggled. @annelise (done on my phone please ignore typos )

As she sat alone on a comfy couch in the Gryffindor common room, Anna was entirely focused on her homework. Potions. The bane of her existence. Why was she still taking this class? About seven times out of ten she was unable to make satisfactory potions, though she understood the theory well enough. It was something about putting the potions together, getting all the ingredients in it in just the right way that messed her up. So she studied potions harder than she studied anything else. In fact, she hardly needed to study the other subjects at all; they all made sense to her. All she had to do was know the theory and do it, simple as that. Technically it should be the same with potions ... but it never was for her. Instead it was complete torture. She was so involved in what she was doing that she didn't even notice what was going on in the common room around her. For all she knew people were having mock duels, a major prank was in the works, or it was midnight or later and she was alone. Still, she didn't care. She HAD to understand this dumb potions assignment and she might as well do it while she had nothing better to do. Anna finally realized someone was talking to her when they sat on the arm of her chair. She turned and smiled right away when she saw that it was Lily. She rolled her eyes, not surprised in the least. If she didn't know better she'd say Lily was conspiring, but she knew it was just coincidence. Lily always seemed to catch her when she was in the middle of a gigantic study session with herself. Lily was watching her expectantly and it suddenly dawned on Anna that Lily probably said something to her before sitting down next to her. Drat! If only she hadn't been blocking out the world around her. Still ... knowing Lily like she did, Anna suspected that she was about to get into trouble for doing her homework instead of having fun. So she took a leap and guessed. "Well there you are! I thought you just decided to abandon us for Slytherin. If I'd have known you were going to show up, I wouldn't have started on this potions crap." Anna teased, making it seem like she blamed Lily for her decision to do her homework. "Where have you been all day? I thought you were going to come see me last night when you got back, but you never did ..." Anna trailed off expectantly. She knew Lily, they were best friends. Whatever she'd been up to, Anna was sure Lily wouldn't keep it from her. lily luna potter

"That's my girl," lily said as Anna said potions homework was crap. It really was! "Slytherin? Nah, they couldn't handle it," she mused, tossing a little wink at Anna. She chuckled, Anna had always been the best for playful banter. "Still, I'm sorry I don't come sooner to save you from this wretched stuff," she wrinkled her nose in disgust and gestured to the book in front of them.
Then Anna asked where she'd been last night. And today... Lily took a deep breath before rolling up the sleeve of her shirt, revealing the bite on her arm.
"Had a little... Run in last night."
A 'run in' was putting it lightly. It was more like a marathon. It was a deliciously planned night, and about time too. Lily was getting bored and she was going to do something drastic. As if this wasn't drastic...

Anna rolled her eyes at her younger cousin as she leaned forward and dropped the loathed book on the floor in front of her chair. It's all your fault Lily. If only you'd been here, I wouldn't have begun the torture." She watched curiously as Lily rolled up her sleeve. Anna stared. She heard Lily's comment about a run-in, but she was in shock. What happened?? Lily didn't seem upset about it ... which meant that this was probably on purpose, somehow. Even so, Anna could hardly believe what she was seeing. Lily was bit by a werewolf? So now Lily was one, more likely than not.
She scooted closer, moving her feet under her so she could sit taller and see better. She reached forward and grabbed Lily's arm, pulling it closer so she could examine it more closely. Not that looking at it would change anything. Lily was still bitten. Her life changed forever in ways that she probably never considered. Providing the assumption that she really thought about this decision at all before jumping into it.
Once more, Anna looked back up into Lily's eyes. She wasn't surprised to see the excitement in them. Though she figured Lily would see right through it, Anna fake-glared at her and then began to ask for more information. "Lily, you are going to have to give me much more than that if you want to have any privacy now. What happened? What do you think about it? How did your family react? Come on, spill. You know you want to," Anna encouraged teasingly before leaning against the back of the chair, her expression clearly expectant. Whatever she was about to learn, she was sure it would be interesting.

Lily laughed as Anna blamed her for her even starting the homework in the first place She gave a little shrug, declaring her indifference to the accusation. "A lot of horrible things happen when I'm not around," and a lot more horrible things happened when she was around... but she decided to leave it at that.
As Anna moved closer to see the scar, Lily leaned her arm forward more so that Anna could grab her arm. As the glare came through, Lily let her eyes widen. Anna asked all the questions that Lily knew she would. Could she tell Anna the truth? No, no not yet. She would trust the other ginger with it some day but right now she needed more time to gauge her reaction, and to process it herself.
"Well, I foolishly wandered into the forest. Like I often do," she faux rolled her eyes at herself as she took her arm back, rolling her sleeve down once more. "Apparently we have a werewolf in our midst who is allowed to run about the forest at night. I'll admit it was pretty deep in, deeper than any student should go." In all reality, she wouldn't want anyone to get hurt by going in there like she did, so there was sincerity in her voice about the danger of it all.
"Anyway, luckily I was found very quickly by Professor Rawlins, otherwise I probably could have been killed," she gulped, a real gulp. What if her and Adrians plan had gone sour? He would have felt horrible and she would have been... well, dead.
"As for my family... they're incredibly worried. Mum can't put two thoughts in her head right now anyway, so this is just more on her plate. James and Al are about ready to kill someone."

Anna rolled her eyes, not quite sure how to respond to this, "You know Lily, you're one of the only people I know that would even try to make that sound like it's no big deal." She teased, still unsure. This was one thing that Anna hadn't expected, even from Lily. She struggled to wrap her head around the thought that her cousin- one of her best friends- might very well be a werewolf. At the same time, she knew that she had to respond a certain way if she wanted Lily to trust her with secrets. She couldn't freak out. At least, she couldn't freak out too much. She couldn't hold back all of her questions, so she let some escape. "But why were you so deep in the forest? And how did it happen? Did Professor Rawlins stop the attack or did it stop before he found you?" Anna was slightly scared of the answers, but she had to ask. She couldn't let this pass without asking any questions. lily luna potter

Lily smiled, almost chuckling at Annas response. It was true, really. Lily was one of the only people who didn't think this was a big deal. It was her idea, after all, not that she was ready to tell Anna that. Still, she should have pretended to be a little more forlorn about it... but Anna would have been able to see right through that. No, it was best to be mostly honest, at least in her emotions about the subject. She was impressed with the way Anna was taking it. She wasn't surprised, though. Anna handled things with nerve and grace.
Then several questions came at once, and Lily was ready to answer them. She leaned back, getting more comfortable for this undoubtedly long conversation. "Well, I was with a boy..." she said, and this was true. She gave a little smirk, "we were just exploring inside the castle when I walked him back to his common room, he mentioned that we should hit up the forest sometime. I decided to go scouting for some place that was, you know, romantic." she chuckled, "that was stupid. Got lost, aaand then there was the wolf..." she felt her heart start to pound a little at this part. It really was scary, seeing Adrian change like that. She glanced around the common room, briefly hoping to get a glimpse of him. No luck. "It all happened really fast. I'm just lucky to be alive," she was out of breath almost and she took a deep breath.

Anna watched her cousin closely as Lily told her story. Something seemed a little off, but she couldn't put her finger on it and- if she was being quite honest with herself- she didn't really want to. She was too caught up in the story. Anna could totally imagine the whole thing going down just the way Lily described it. Lily was impulsive like that, it wasn't really a surprise that she would go into the forest looking for a romantic spot ... was it? Goosebumps covered Annelise's arms when Lily mentioned getting lost and the wolf coming. She could sense that her best friend was nervous, which made Anna worry even more for her. Lily didn't really get nervous as a general rule. Anna felt the mood around them darken and even though she wanted to, she struggled to find a way to lighten the mood. "I'm so glad you are, I don't know what I would do without you here to drag me away from evil potions," she gave a weak smile. "Just ... promise you'll try to be more careful next time," Anna asked. She knew it would be too much to try and make Lily promise to actually be careful, so she stuck the try in there. She didn't want to be the annoying older cousin, but she couldn't help herself. She had to ask Lily to be careful. Not only for Lily's sake, but for her family's and for Anna's as well. lily luna potter

Lily could always count on Anna to lighten the mood if she was ever getting too dark, and vise versa. She felt an overwhelming desire to find Adrian, to be with him. The emotions there were intense, maybe not even romantic, but undeniably intense. "I would never abandon you when homework was involved," she chuckled and gave Anna a little wink. Then Anna asked Lily to be more careful next time. Lily placed a hand on her cousins arm, "hey, next time I won't go alone," and she really wouldn't, "I promise," she would have Adrian. From now on, right? Lily removed her hand and proceeded to lean back, getting more comfortable. "What about you? How's your wild love life?"molly

Annelise breathed out, relieved when Lily promised. Not that she was sure Lily would actually keep that promise forever, but at least she knew there would be somewhat of effort there. She smiled, "Whew! I'm glad you would never abandon me. And thanks for promising me. It means a lot."Anna couldn't hold back the laugh when Lily changed the conversation. "My wild love life? Lily, better than most you know that nothing has happened there. Like ever. Not that I don't want romance, but ... nothing is going on with me. All I have going on are classes, homework, food and talks with friends. Nothing too overwhelming. Is there anything else I should know about you, other than ...?" she trailed off, positive that Lily would understand. She was asking if anything had happened other than the whole werewolf situation. lily luna potter

Lily laughed loudly as Anna did. Anna wasn't one to get involved with the fellas, and Lily knew that. Still, it was fun to torment her. Before Lily could call Anna out on it once more, Anna turned to question back on her. "Oh, you know me. Just can't take my pick," but the funny thing was, she really hadn't seen anyone other than Adrian in months... since Christmas break about. She glanced over to the portrait hole and, just in time, Adrian walked in with that cavalier smile on his face and those eyes that meant something was churning in his mind. She bit her lip at the sight of him, stopping to whip around to face Anna once more.
"Anyway, my love life is boring. Same old thing. We need to shake things up," she glanced about the room again, "we'll find an eligible bachelor for you cousin, no doubt about that."

Anna noticed Lily looking across the room at something ... or maybe someone. Anna wasn't sure and she didn't want Lily to realize that she'd noticed something so she kept it to herself, whereas she would normally call Lily out on it. Something weird was going on. Then Lily said that they needed to shake things up and Anna laughed. "We need to shake things up? Really? Haven't things been shaken up enough lately?" she teased, though at the same time she was being kind of serious. Hadn't the Potter family had enough "shaking up" lately? First with Ginny, now with Lily being turned into a werewolf. Things weren't simple with their family alone, not to mention all the crazy things that were happening at school. Was Lily serious or just being the silly, crazy Lily she's always been? Anna wasn't sure. At the bachelor comment, Anna laughed even more, "Yeah, it's not like I don't know all the bachelors here already," she teased as she looked around the Common Room for him ... nope. He wasn't there. She focused her attention back on Lily. "Don't you think that if he was here I'd have already found him?" she teased back. "Maybe we should find a different way to have fun, a way that doesn't involve bachelors." Anna stressed the last word to tease Lily just a little more. She wanted to get the subject off of boys, but she was nervous where it was going to go with Lily. Oh well, it was sure to be pretty entertaining, no matter what they did. lily luna potter

Lily wasn't expecting Anna to bring reality into the situation. A lot of things had been shaken up, that much was true. But that was what Lily lived for, the shaking up of things that happened in and out of her own life. "Youuuu do have a point," she finally said in reference to Annas suggestion to have fun in a way that doesn't involve bachelors. "Perhaps a swim in the black lake? A walk in the mountains? A little animagi practice?" she joked slash suggested. Lily wasn't actually somebody who had the time or the patience to become an animagi. The final product would be awesome but-wait, she practically was one now! Well, not really but in a way. She could turn into an animal now, right? Not really on command but...
She realized that she started to zone out and turned her attention back to Anna with an innocent looking smile. Nope, she couldn't do this. She couldn't' lie to Anna. But she needed to. Lily did not like the inner turmoil happening in her head at this moment and she violently needed a distraction. She jumped up, lifting her wand into the air before letting off a few pink sparks and shouting, "attention Gryffindor Coomon Roomers! It's time for an impromptu party," she flicked her wand and suddenly music started playing loudly. Many people shrugged and jumped off their feet, leaving their homework behind.
"Now, dancing is a good way to have fun, right?" she smirked, turning back to Anna.

Something was off. Anna was sure of it, but she didn't know how to figure it out and it was obvious that Lily didn't want to talk about it. She kept changing the subject. Anna gave a small laugh, hoping Lily would think it was at her suggestions for excitement. Really Anna was just laughing at Lily. Sometimes her cousin could be so bizarre. Then again, that's one of the things that Anna loved about her. "Hmm ... great suggestions, Lily," she began "But out of those three I think I would definitely go for a swim in the black lake. That one just seems way more exciting to me ... especially if we do a long-term swim underwater," she suggested, giving a sly smile. She knew that Lily was teasing her about those suggestions and so she was teasing back. However, at the same time she was aware that Lily might actually interpret her response as an invitation, so she made sure it was one that she might actually like and have fun on. Then again, with Lily any activity was bound to be fun. Anna waited for Lily's response to her enthusiasm for a swim when Lily jumped up and announced that it was time for a party in the Common Room. She laughed, not really surprised at all. From her experience, Lily couldn't go a long time without something exciting going on ... especially when she was keeping something from Anna. So this was definitely another tactic for distraction. Whatever. Anna could wait. She was a pretty patient person. Annelise stood up, just like many around the Common Room did. "I'm never going to say no to dancing. You know that!" She laughed as she watched the party begin, and then she joined in, still staying close to Lily. "Then again, you only announced a party right now, not a dance," Anna teased right back. lily luna potter

Lily laughed as Anna played along with the idea of swimming in the black lake. Lily really hadn't done that yet and had no doubt it would happen before she graduated Hogwarts. If she was organized enough she'd make some sort of bucket list for that sort of thing, but there was no way she had time for that. "Awe, you have a good point! We'd need to find some good underwater breathing spells first, though..." she added with a moment of faux contemplation and a little grin. In all reality, she was actually considering how to make this happen. Well, if she came up with a good enough idea Anna would probably join in. If it was safe...ish. "Hey, hey! All parties include dancing," she responded to Anna, taking her friends hand and dragging her away from the couched toward the center of the common room where a slight crowd was gathering. The music got louder, and Lily went into her dancing to the best of her ability. At least, in the best way to have some fun! "Seriously though, this is exactly what this depressing school needs right now!" she shouted to Anna over the music. _________ @annelise (may as well invite the other gryffys haha @adrian @johanson @abigail Irina Rose Krum @lestrange @ava @casey @james @henry @jude @philiplongbottom @ranger @saoirse
