Coriander had snuck into class after the first few people and had sat in the back. She had gone unnoticed, which was fine with her. As Professor Stone started the lesson she made it a point to listen carefully. Conjuring from thin air... that was a useful skill. Soliumque contulerit…..quietus accusam, she went over the incantations in her mind several times before muttering it out loud under her breath. She hoped no one had noticed, it was sort of an unconscious thing. She wasn't very amused when the teacher told them to get up and move the chairs to the side. Granted, this happened in class a lot, but it was a lot harder to avoid people this way.
Luckily, she was wearing her school robes which were required for class. No one could get hurt anyway. She stood in the back of the group as people started to conjure things. She noticed Alice, a huffy hufflepuff, seemed to be throwing some kind of fit. Cori tried not to laugh but a little sound escaped her lips. She quickly looked away, praying that no one had heard her. Everyone was going to the center of the room to perform their spells, did they have to do that?
Cori said and took a step forward after Sean, a boy in her class who had run in late. She didn't say anything as she stepped forward, trying to avoid eye contact with the others. Finally, she chose to only say the second half, "quietus accusam..." she muttered. A plain black sleeping bag appeared in front of her, it was about big enough for a medium sized dog to curl up in. She smiled and made her way over to it, sitting down. "Well, now that we're all comfortable..." she turned her body to face the professor, "what's next?"

Maryn, late to class (quite surprising, really, Transfiguration was popular among the seventh years), somehow managed to be second in line to try the spell out. The chair she conjured was black and silver, with a yellow badger design, alongside a purple sleeping bag—the colors of Hufflepuff and Hogwarts. She grinned, clearly proud of herself, as she settled into the armchair, commenting on its comfort. Elodie was up next, successfully conjuring an armchair and a sleeping bag fit for the finest dollhouse. Elodie, always one to take mishaps in stride, picked them up and grinned at Carcer, claiming they would make lovely Christmas presents for him. The Hufflepuff laughed as Ronan chipped in with his own agreement. “Miss Wood, such a fine gift is liable to make me think your interest in me is more than friendly! But my wand has always needed a place to sit.” He eyed Ronan as the Gryffindor stepped up, successfully replicating the spell he’d generated on the spot, though his chair was in the form of a griffin that folded its wings over him. Carcer arched an eyebrow, amused. “I thought Gryffindors were lions, not copycats?”
He eyed the fairly impressive conjuration Ronan came up with—two coconut trees and a hammock. Why that sneaky little git, he’d been practicing before school started! Carcer silently kicked himself for not also doing it—he’d been too preoccupied with his preliminary study into animagus techniques. No way was Finnigan getting ahead of him in Transfiguration. Carcer refused to allow it to happen without a fight. He’d practice Conjuration the next time he went to give Apollo and Diana their rubdowns and brushing. Dividing his attention would make it more difficult and let him improve more quickly. The next to go was Alice, who was…royally ticked off for some reason. She cast the spell perfectly, then flung the sleeping bag down and dropped into the chair in a tangle of limbs and irritation. What had happened…? Carcer barely registered the also-late Head Boy and the quiet Ravenclaw girl casting their own spells, reaching down to pop the handle on his chair and sitting up. The badger head disappeared under the bottom of the chair, bringing the blanket with it, before it popped up back at the top again.
The largest Hufflepuff made his way around the room quietly, with far more grace than you’d expect of someone with Carcer’s size and fairly muscular physique. Finally, he was standing behind Alice’s chair. He put his hands on the back of the chair and bent at the waist, leaning all the way over the chair and the huffy girl sitting in it until he was at eye level with her and the world was reversed from his point of view. “Well, that’s one way to turn a frown upside-down,” he said with a grin. Carcer still wasn’t sure what had set Alice off, though it was most likely James Potter, the only person she ever seemed relaxed around. He doubted anyone else could get this kind of response from the blonde without it being obvious why she was royally ticked off. The gentle giant arched an eyebrow. “C’maaaaahn, I’m being adorable here, the least you could do is smile a little.”

Desi wasn't even sure what time class had started, but when her fellow seventh year ravens left the common room, she figured that she had at least fifteen minutes to get to class. Little did she know, Cori was always early and Sean was running late. So, naturally, she walked in during the middle of everyone suddenly making chairs. She crossed over to Elaine and leaned against the wall beside her, "hey E, what's the incantation?" she asked her. She watched, almost bored, as everyone started making chairs.
She licked her lips at the site of @sean, that boy was delicious and what a crazy grandfather he had. She needed to get to know that guy better. Or at least get into a good make out session with him. She eyed him up and down until her vision moved to @alice. That girl was a total brat, but Desi loved that. Desi watched as the class created their chairs and sat in them. She wasn't sure where to start. There were so many opportunities to just plop on someones lap, but this was class and she didn't trust Vincent not to give her detention.

Alice let her gaze fall back over to James, who had yet to even get up and try the incantation out for himself. Obviously, he was far to wrapped up in that Ravenclaw girl. Needless to say, Alice was furious about it all. Alice had yet to tell any of her fellow classmates or friends about her feelings for James. The only person she had spoken to about it was her father. She could feel herself wanting to open up to her close friends more, but for some reason... she could never bring herself to do so.
The Hufflepuff was far too wrapped up in her own emotions to really pay any attention to the rest of the class perform their own spells. She didn't even notice that weird Ravenclaw girl walk in late. What was her name? Desi, or something? Not that Alice would of cared, seeing her walk in late. She didn't really care for the girl, as she was a Ravenclaw and all. Alice just continued to sit in her chair, arms folded tightly across her chest in a huff.
“Well, that’s one way to turn a frown upside-down,” Carcer Hagrid had suddenly appeared in front of Alice, his face upside down from her own. Alice's eyes widened a bit in surprise at the half giant leaning down over her but as she noticed his grin, Alice's eyebrows relaxed a bit and her glare disappeared. Alice couldn't help it then. Her fellow badger and recent new friend managed to get Alice to crack a smile. However, Alice felt slightly embarrassed about the whole situation that had just unfolded and she looked down at her feet to avoid looking at Carcer. But she kept a little smile on her face as she did so.
