All the baby students, hustling and bustling throughout the village.
It had been man years since Hesria had been one of them, and she was grateful for that. She loved Hogwarts and had loved her time there, but it was different now. Being an adult was different. Ever since her second year when her half sister finally left the school, she had felt much better about being there, but it still made her uneasy. Being an adult, her half sister was no problem. She wasn't even scared of bumping into her because she didn't even know how old the people around her were. At Hogwarts, you at least knew their year and that was enough to narrow it down. Now, she didn't have to worry about her anymore.
At least that's what she told herself.
She had gotten up early to visit the village, and was now perched up on a stone wall looking down at the crowds. She liked the way the complicated the cute little buildings- the pubs, the shops. The students and the snow made the entire village look even more charming, which made Hestia happy. She often wished it snowed all year long... it really was the best weather to accent certain architecture, especially older buildings with lots of detail on the outside.
Suddenly, she heard a loud sound below and she jumped, which caused her to slip off the wall...

I am the misery you crave Hogsmeade was such a relaxing place for Addie. Sure, it was full of screaming third years who had never been outside of the castle and were venting their excitement at the top of their voices, but it was still relaxing. Especially once you got to the outskirts of the little village. The snow lightly blanketed the ground and trickled slowly from the sky, gently kissing Addie's exposed skin as it fell. She could look down on Hogsmeade and see the snow envelope its patrons, surrounding the village with its fluttering dance. As she walked, Addie couldn't help but take in the sights. Of course, she had stopped by Honeyduke's before she began her short voyage, and now a half-eaten chocolate bar was pursed between her lips. The smell and taste of the sweet was cozy and warm in comparison to the cold surroundings. Addie wondered what Hogsmeade looked like when it was completely still, with no children running around to disturb its expanse of fluffy white... CRACK!Addie looked down. She had stepped on a twig that had been hidden underneath the snow. She bent down to pick it up when she heard a shuffling above her. Looking up, she saw a woman sitting on a stone wall. And she was falling! "Windgardium Leviosa!" Without thinking, Addie had whipped out her wand and aimed it at the woman. She could feel the strain in the instrument as she tried to slowly lower her to the ground. After all, this was no feather. This was a human being, and they were much heavier. As she slowly lowered her wand, the woman sank with it until she was safe on the ground. "Are you okay?" she asked. MADE BY VEL OF GS [googlefont=Alegreya Sans SC:400]

Suddenly, Hestia was suspended in air as a stupid cast a spell on her. She didn't react fast enough to pull out her own wand, so she was glad that someone was there to assist her. Broken bones were oh-so-inconvenient. As Hestias feet landing on the ground, she smiled at her rescuer. "Oh, I'm all right! I was just startled by something. Thank you," she said.
"Hestia Carrow, at your service," she said, offering a hand out to the girl. It wasn't below Hestia to shake someones hand, say thank you, and whatnot. She wasn't generally the most polite person, but when first meeting someone she was at least civil. She was a Slytherin, after all, and was aware that forming relationships could work to her advantage. Granted, a relationship with some random student barely seemed important...
Still, the girl did save her a lot of trouble, and she wasn't going to be cruel to her for that.

I am the misery you crave Addie breathed a sigh of relief as she looked up at the wall. A tumble from that would've resulted in some serious hospital time. "Oh, good. I guess it's a good thing I walked by when I did," she replied. Looking around, she saw the guilty stick laying on the ground. She stooped down to pick it up and frowned. It was nearly broken in half, one end clinging precariously to its counterpart as it dangled in the air. "Or maybe not," she recanted, showing the older woman the stick. "I think this is the culprit behind your fall." She sheepishly tossed the twig on the ground and wiped her hand off on her jeans. Taking Hestia's outstretched hand, she smiled and introduced herself. "I'm Adelaide. Adelaide Shacklebolt. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Hestia." If there was anything her late father had taught it, it was to always respect adults, regardless of how their age compared to their own. The Golden Rule, he always told her. When she was older, she would expect the same respect from young people, so she should dish out that respect while she could. Drawing her hand away, she regarded the other woman curiously. Addie spent a lot of time in Hogsmeade, more than most wizards, and, although there was no way she could know everyone in the village, she had never seen Hestia around before. Hestia looked down at the stick in the girls hand and a small smile appeared on her face. "So, you are both the culprit and the savior? Isn't that how it usually work out?" she chuckled. It was true, really. Those that you were the closest to could hurt you the most. Now that Hestia was turning this little moment into some sort of life lesson, she was starting to show herself a little too much. She straightened up, smiling again as the girl gave her name.
Shacklebolt. Aw, the late Ministers daughter? What a sweet little surprise. Hestia shrugged as the girl asked what she was doing in Hogsmeade, "Aw, well, in all honesty I was just people watching. And building watching," she chuckled, "Hogsmeade is such a lovely little village. I love the old houses and the way that they all work with one another. You're here as a student, I assume?" she asked with a little gesture to the crowds passing by. "Tell me, what house are you in? I was in Slytherin back in my day."

I am the misery you crave Addie couldn't help but smile sheepishly. She was expecting a tongue-lashing of the highest degree, but Hestia's laugh threw her off. It was, she supposed, better than getting yelled at. It had been an accident, after all. Addie nodded in agreement at Hestia's mention of people and building watching. Hogsmeade was certainly the perfect place for that. There was something about its quaint little buildings and atmosphere that simply couldn't be found anywhere else. "I'm in Ravenclaw," she said proudly, puffing out her chest a little. The Ravenclaw house was Addie's greatest source of pride. It was almost funny. Growing up, she always assumed she would be in Gryffindor. Her sister was. But when the Sorting Hat was placed on her head and called out the house of the eagle, her whole world changed. Now she couldn't imagine being in any other house. But Hestia was in Slytherin, the house with the worst reputation of them all. Addie couldn't help but stiffen up a fraction. Things had been different since the second Wizarding War, but everyone still regarded Slytherin as the house for bad seeds. It wasn't like that now, but it was a difficult tradition to shake. Ravenclaw. Cute. Hestia thought that would have been her second choice, if Slytherin didn't already snatch her up. She was far too cruel for Hufflepuff, and far too calculating for Gryffindor. Ravenclaw and Slytherin had a lot in common, she had always thought, even if most others didn't agree. She nodded, acknowledging the girls answer. Then she went on to ask Hestia was she did for a living. Hestia perked up, smiling brightly as her passion was asked about. That was always the surest way to get Hestia to open up a little bit. "I'm an architect. So building watching kinda does pay the bills," she chuckled, placing her hands in her pockets.
"Lemme buy you a drink, for saving my life an all," Hestia said, turning toward the direction of the three broomsticks.

An architect, huh? She knew of people that studied dragons, guarded massive underground bank vaults, and even hunted down evil wizards. With jobs like that available in the wizarding world, being an architect seemed out of place. Even Addie herself planned to open her own apothecary and sell medicinal potions. But, she supposed, to each her own. Buildings had to be built, and it wasn't exactly wise to hire a muggle in a wizarding community.
When the woman offered her a drink, Addie smiled. She hadn't come to Hogsmeade expecting to make a new friend, if you could call it that, but Addie was thankful for the gesture. Addie didn't particularly like it when people bought her things, but it would be rude to turn down a free drink. She nodded at Hestia. "I would like that. Thank you," she said, following Hestia toward the pub.

Once in the pub Hestia sat at her usual table and gestured to the seat across from her for Adelaide. "So, how is your sister?" she asked, trying to sound casual and not creepy. It was no secret whom the children of Kingsley Shacklbolt were and there was no use in pretending that she didn't know about the family. "You brother, Royal, seems to be doing well. I've seen him at the Prophet before. Nice kid, a little rough around the edges," she chuckled. She really hadn't had much contact with him but once again- the family was well known and people paid attention.
"Order anything you'd like," she offered as the waitress approached them. Hestia ordered a firewhiskey, but just a small portion. She looked back up at the girl sitting across from her and smiled.

Addie raised her eyebrow and stiffened defensively when Hestia asked about Abby. For one, she and her sister had grown so distant that she really didn't know what Abby was up to. She only knew that somehow, some way, it involved Theo. Second, how did Hestia even know she had a sister? But then she remembered. They were the children of the former minister for magic. They were almost royalty. Everyone knew about their family. Addie had always hated that kind of attention, but she would tolerate the invasion of privacy for the rest of her life if it meant she could have her father back. The girl choked back the thought and focused on Hestia.
"She's fine. We all are, I suppose," she said vaguely. It still made her slightly uncomfortable that Hestia knew about her and her family. Addie paused and ordered a butterbeer from the waitress. She took her time deciding on the drink to avoid having to talk to Hestia until she had composed herself. Almost-famous or not, it was weird having someone know that much about her family.
Once she finished ordering, Addie asked Hestia, "So you know Royal, too? Do you work at the Prophet as well?" She kept up with the newspaper only to see her brother's work, but she didn't recall ever seeing Hestia's name on any of the bylines.

"No, I don't know him really," she added with a small shrug. "I just have business there occasionally putting in the advertisement for my services. He is just one of the people who is always there. Anyway," she leaned back in her chair a bit, still keeping up rolled back shoulders and a straight posture. Hestia was rather vain in fact and didn't like looking sloppy in any way, even in a relaxing situation. It wasn't really a surprise that Adelaide was acting a little stiff about Hestias questions. Hestia didn't really care too much, however, for she was sure the girl had dealt with it before. Hestia didn't really think too much about it, actually, not being too much of a sucker for peoples feelings.
"Do you go around scaring people and saving them a lot or do you have another hobby?" she asked, trying to change the subject in a way that was a little more interesting and less chatty small talk. The girl needed to loosen up a bit, that was clear. Well, so did Hestia but it seemed that neither of them would be doing that too soon.

Addie nodded in understanding at Hestia's explanation. Royal did spend a lot of time at work. Writing was his passion, and he had dived far deep into his writing ever since their father died. It had put just as much strain on their relationship as it had between Addie and her sister. Their father's death had pretty much ripped the family apart, dividing it into two sides. Last she heard, he was writing a biography. In the very few owls they sent between each other, he asked her to read his draft. But Addie wasn't sure she was ready to. Reading the draft would mean accepting that their father was really gone. She couldn't deal with that pain. Not yet.
The waitress quickly returned with their drinks, and Addie took her gratefully. The drink provided a distraction, both from thinking about her father and from having to talk to Hestia. She took a long sip while the other woman spoke and nearly choked on her drink. She made a great deal of coughing to hide the blush that rose to her cheeks. No, she didn't often walk around playing accidental hero. Once her coughing fit subsided, she was finally able to answer. "I'm a student at Hogwarts." Way to state the obvious, Ads. "I'm training to be a potion's master. I want to open an apothecary when I graduate," she explained, taking another swig of butterbeer.

"That's great! It's impressive when someone so young knows what they want to be. More than half the kids in my class had no idea what they were going to do after graduation. I mean, they had to tell the professors something to get their schedule all situated but they really had no idea. So, you're rather gifted with potions then?" Hestia didn't have much of a gift in that line. In fact, she had a hard time focusing on anything in school that wasn't going to aid her in architecture. Divination, nope. Potions, nope. Transfiguration and Charms were her strong suits, as well as History of Magic but that was because the study material spoke about some of the secrets and amazing things done within Hogwarts and other important buildings. @adelaide
