Rose had really been blessed in the sibling department. Most people had younger siblings, or namely younger brothers, that they found annoying or immature... but Hugo was so far off from any of that. He was caring and understanding and he was far more mature than Rose even felt she was on some days. She was beyond grateful for the patience Hugo always had with her and the relationship the two of them shared together. But she had never had the wisdom he always seemed to possess. "I envy your empathy," she let out a sigh and she looked down at the table.
"I know he loves me..." the Ravenclaw said, a little quiet. "But, I just can't help but feel he will be extremely disappointed in me. That maybe he wouldn't approve." Rose confessed, her tone still quiet but more confident in how she felt now as she tried to accurately express to her brother how she felt. "I know Mum won't be much of an issue to get past..." Rose chuckled quietly at the thought of their mother. "She might even rejoice with her approval."

As much as Hugo knew of his empathic skills, he didn't necessarily love having such an intense emotional connection with everyone around him. He was sure he would have been like that whether he was a clairvoyant, though, since his mother was that way too. Maybe not to his extent, but she had a high level of empathy as well. That's probably where he got it from because he certainly didn't get it from his father. He chuckled at that thought, "it's not always a blessing, Ro," he added. Hugo nodded slowly, he couldn't deny that he agreed about their dad not approving. "I don't think he'd be disappointed, per say. Maybe just confused? I can't see him being entirely thrilled though. As for mum, I think she'll be a good influence on dad in this. I mean, she just wants everyone to get along, right?"Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

In terms of which parent Rose was more like... it was almost a tie. Rose definitely got her academic genes from her mother, as well as her tendency to be quite bossy. But when it came to expressing her emotions or sharing things with people other than her brother, Rose was much like her father. Perhaps that was why they had always gotten along so well and had always been so close. Rose was thankful to have a good relationship with either of her parents but she and her father were like best friends, and it was terrible to keep something like this from him.
"Well, in this instance I am glad it can be," Rose replied, placing a consoling hand on Hugo's shoulder. She knew that his gift was often times a burden more often than an actual gift. And if she could relieve that from him, she would in a heartbeat.
"Yeah, I guess you are right..." Rose shrugged as she took a drink of the butterbeer that the waitress had finally brought them. "Telling Mum will be a breeze... and, while I want to tell Dad myself... I feel like Mum would sort of help... soften the blow." She bit her lip and looked at Hugo for validation.

Hugo was grateful that his gift needed skin to skin contact when Rose touched him on the shoulder. Wearing long robes always made everything easier in that sense, especially since they were fairly thick. He simply nodded at her words, understanding what she meant by them. She was right, of course, as she often was. "Exactly," he agreed, "just take mum with you and it will be fine. Heck, take me with you-Oh," he had gestured forward and knocked her cup off of the table. As they both reached for it at the same time, his hand grazed hers and suddenly he was sucked into darkeness... A bursting light caused his eyes to snap open and he caught his breath. He blinked several times before the picture starting to become clearer. He looked down at his hands and there was a dark red substance on them. He tried to shake it off but it wouldn't budge. It didn't even look liquid at this point, just a stain. A dark stain. He looked up and that's when he saw her.
She was surrounded by figures that he didn't recognize. Some of them didn't even look human. She was fighting, hard, and it looked like she was doing pretty good until a sword was suddenly bursting through her back and coming through her chest. "ROSE!" he called out to her, running forward, but she held a hand up and looked at him, her eyes pleading with him to stay back. Then her eyes widened, almost in fear it looked like, at something behind him.
He spun around and was face to face with Scorpius Malfoy. His eyes were dark, almost completely black, and suddenly the sword was in his hand, even though he was nowhere near Rose...He gasped loudly, pulling away from Rose and stumbling out of his chair. "I-I'm sorry. I gotta-" he didn't even finish his thread before he was hurtling out of the Three Broomsticks but he didn't get far before plowing right into someone. With Hugo's gift, Rose had to always be careful when she touched him. She never wanted to bring on unwanted visions for him with skin to skin contact, so she always tried to make sure there was something between them. She smiled at him gratefully. Rose sat back in her chair and was watching her brother as he spoke when he accidentally knocked over her cup. She went to reach for it the same time he did and their hands brushed up against one another. When Rose saw Hugo freeze, she looked up at quickly as worry and slight fear flashed across her face. He was seeing something.
Rose watched her brother anxiously and intently until he seemed to come to again and he was suddenly stumbling out of his chair. Rose immediately stood up as she went to help her brother but before she could even take a step for him, he was stammering about how he had to leave just before he rushed out of the pub. Rose looked on in sadness, feeling nothing but worry for her brother but she trusted him... whatever he had seen must have been important. She would ask him about it later.
